She put the parchment in her pocket. It was time to find them.
Where is the opposite of where I'd like to be?
She looked out the window. It was sunny. Then she saw the lake. People were sitting under the willow tree and she recognised Gwen's hair.
Such a public location. So not Slytherin. Definitely the opposite.
She made her way there.
"Andromeda?"
They all looked at her.
"Hello." She said.
"Why are you here?"
She blinked and then pulled out her parchment.
"Wha-" Inaya started.
Andromeda read from the piece of paper in her hands:
"Gwendolyn Fawley, Inaya Shafiq and company,
I am here, even though you probably want to never be close to me again. If that is so, I will say my piece and leave. Please just listen to what I have prepared."
She looked up from her parchment to her silent audience.
"Okay," Inaya said.
Andromeda continued:
"I believe that there has been a miscommunication: I was hurt because you,(Gwendolyn Fawley and Inaya Shafiq not the Hufflepuffs and McKinnon), kept a secret from me. I admit that the content of the secret only made me hurt more: the people who you made friends with."
Ted rolled his eyes. Yeah, the people she made friends with hurt her. They were "inferior."
"That is the first mix up, the second is that of my political stance: I do not believe that purebloods have a greater aptitude for magic than muggleborns, or that muggleborns have stolen their magic from us purebloods.
Those thoughts are ridiculous, and I honestly would think you would know better than to think that I would think those things."
He had to fight the urge to tell everyone to "wait for the prejudice."
"I do, however-" and, even if it was stupid, Ted was reminded of Edith's ramblings which made him almost smile, "-believe that though magic is a skill, it is also a culture and a completely different world that muggleborns will never fully understand. Even half-bloods must live between worlds, which must be frustrating and terrible. Just as I will never be able to live the muggle way, they will never be able to live the wizard way."
She looked up again, but only found vacant expressions… and Tonks rolling his eyes. She continued anyway.
"Our culture and world is at risk of dying in this new age, as they change the elements they do not understand, not comprehending the ancient ways: the two worlds will always be at war."
She sighed.
"I do not think I could change my mind, but if I ever was, I am sure that it would be your fault."
He struggled to contain a laugh at the "your fault" comment. Maybe he hadn't hidden it very well because Mason gave him which reminded him of his father.
Andromeda's wording didn't only catch Ted's notice, but everyone else's as well, though Andromeda didn't notice their notice as she was too focused on apologising.
What she said showed promise. She was willing to listen. If they played their cards right, she'd change her mind.
That'll take forever, Ted thought
"Sincerest apologies for this misunderstanding and I hope that we can move forward."
She put the parchment away, and clapped her hands together.
"Now that that has been cleared up. I would like to be friends again. We could make up a schedule— for which days you spend with me or them. Though you may not want to be friends again— and that would be all right."
Ted couldn't hold it in anymore, she was truly ridiculous.
Andromeda glared at him, why must he always let loose that blasted laugh at the most inopportune moments? She then smiled weakly at the rest of her audience.
"So… what do you choose?"
Inaya and Gwen shared a look. It lasted between a couple of seconds. Andromeda stared on with confusion, as the rest of the group took in the common occurrence of Inaya and Gwen's nonverbal communication. Before Andromeda could ask what was happening, Inaya spoke:
"We aren't going to be making a schedule for who we hang out with on what day."
"You're either friends with all of us," Gwen said gesturing to herself, Inaya, and the other three, "Or you're friends with none of us."
"We are open to being your friend again, since you're willing to listen to us too," Inaya said.
She nodded slightly.
"So I have to be friends with everyone here?" Andromeda said nervously.
"Yes!" Gwen and Inaya said together.
Andromeda looked over at Ted, apprehensively.
Why is she just looking at me? Edith's a muggleborn too, he thought.
"All right, I will be friends with all of you."
"Hurray!" Gwen said, squishing her new-old-ex-friend in a hug. Andromeda giggled.
Inaya smiled softly looking at Gwen and Andy. Ted was shocked that Andromeda agreed.
Did that mean he had to be friends with her? That sounded exhausting... however maybe it would be entertaining.
Here, Andromeda uses my amazing technique for keeping friends: when there's drama write a letter. Ted came out really mean this chapter, but Ted and Andy are both idiots that have a lot to learn.
This chapter's short (like I haven't had shorter ones) because it used to be part of the last chapter, but then I decided to split them in two. There was too much happening in Flying.
PLEASE tell me what you think! so I can talk about this with someone.
