Having fun and writing more of the Madrigal Girlfriends series, this time a bit more of Sofía and Isabela, also featuring the answer to a question nobody asked- what happens to the love letters Isabela throws out?

Luisa liked reading and she especially adored romance, mostly checking out romantic novels from the library whenever she visited Alejandra. Dolores would fill her in on the storylines whenever Luisa missed one of Tío Bruno's rat plays, but Luisa's favorite romantic dramedies came from the love letters from Isa's many suitors.

So whenever Isabela abandoned one of the letters Luisa would slyly grab it and then read it to the donkeys and, if it was particularly juicy, to Alejandra.

Today was no exception. Luisa grabbed the letter and a cold drink and then went out to perform for the donkeys.

"Dearest Isabela,

Perhaps I am being bold by writing to you. So little scares me and yet I'm trembling as I write this. You are the greatest part of my day, when I get to deliver a letter or a package to you my heart beats faster and the world seems a little brighter. Maybe it is brighter, my tío told me about your family's magic. I never expected to find myself tangled up in it. I wouldn't have dared before I met you. My life was exciting but meaningless before I met you. Your kindness is heartwarming and your smile is more beautiful than the flowers you grow. I have never written something like this before, never gone out on a limb like this. I have never had feelings for anyone the way I feel for you. I hope we can arrange a correspondence, and perhaps a private meeting if the correspondence works out. Until I get your reply I will look forward to seeing you each day. May you receive many more love letters so that I may deliver them, even if the love isn't mine.

Truly yours,

Sofía."

Luisa had been enjoying the letter until she got to the end when she gasped out loud. Then she read it over once more in silence and the pieces clicked together. Her older sister's newest suitor was the delivery woman who had replaced Señor Ortiz. And if the sender was right in her assumptions, Isabela felt similarly. Which meant she had tossed out this letter by accident. Which meant Isa didn't know that Sofía had written the letter.

"What do I do?" Luisa asked the donkeys, who didn't respond. Luisa had read enough romance novels to know that if the message of love wasn't delivered then something catastrophic happened.

"I have to make sure Isa gets this letter." The donkeys seemed to nod in agreement and Luisa rushed to find her sister, pausing only when she considered the other piece of the puzzle. If Isabela didn't feel that way about Sofía, or if she did but didn't want anyone to know yet, it would be for the best if Luisa didn't imply that she knew anything. Luisa wasn't ready to tell the family about Alejandra, Isabela might not want to say anything yet either.

Luisa looked around the house and then knocked on Isa's door.

"Who is it?"

"Luisa!"

"Oh, come in!" Luisa was closer with Mirabel than Isabela but she was closer to Isabela than Mirabel was, even now. Isabela and Mirabel still argued sometimes, but Luisa rarely fought with either of her sisters.

"What's up, Luisa?"

"I found this letter you misplaced, I think it's from your friend? I thought you might want it."

"Oh, thank you." Luisa kept it vague enough to not be suspicious, and so Isabela seemed unsure about the contents of the letter when she took it.

"Well, I'll see you at dinner." Luisa ducked out of the room, feeling good about her secret mission. And she didn't need Dolores's powers to hear Isabela let out a squeal of excitement as she read the only love letter that mattered.
