A/N: So, my head-canon has always been that Julieta never uses her gift on herself because she knows it's for the good of the people of Encanto and feels it would be selfish and taking advantage if she were to heal her own ailments. I have no idea if other people share my head-canon, but I thought it would be such a Julieta thing to do and it let me write this fluffy little number, so I hope you like it regardless :)

It was a tender kiss to the side of her head that pulled Julieta from the light slumber she had drifted into and, after opening her eyes, she offered her husband a smile when she turned over to see him sitting on the edge of the bed. He returned it, naturally, but she could see the worry in his eyes and so she reached up to rest a hand on his cheek. "A sprained wrist and a couple of minor burns to my arms, mi vida, nothing to be worried about," She told him, her voice still slightly hoarse from slumber as she smoothed her thumb across his skin. "I was quite lucky, honestly, the doctor said he was surprised at how little injuries I ended up with, especially since the water in that pot was so hot."

"I wish you would have listened to me when I said you needed to slow down a little. We could have avoided this," He sighed, touching his fingers to a dressing on her arm before pulling his hand back immediately when she grimaced. "I know how important it was to you that you got everything done in time for Dolores' wedding, querida, and I know you were running a bit behind, but you never should have worked yourself so hard and I never should have let you."

"I was stupid," She whispered. "I thought that if I stayed up later to get everything I had to do out of the way, I could help the others with their tasks and make less work for them. I only ended up creating more work for them though, Agustin, and I feel awful about it. I have no idea what I'm going to do about the wedding cake either, stuck in here."

He took her face in his hands and moved closer to her on the bed as he looked into her eyes. "What you need to do is stop worrying about everyone else and put yourself first for once. You are the most selfless person I know – I fell in love with you for that very reason – and I have no problem with you wanting to help where you can, but I do have a problem with you spreading yourself so thinly that you forget to take care of your own needs and end up like this. Nothing, and there is not one member of this familia that would argue with me, is worth you doing this to yourself."

"I never thought I would be the one on the receiving end of a speech about keeping out of harm's way." She teased.

"There's a first time for everything," He chuckled, kissing her forehead. "I mean it though. You need to be more careful."

She nodded and rolled onto her side, sliding her bandaged hand underneath her pillow as she snuggled down beneath the covers. "I must sound like a child, but the pain is making it a little hard for me to get comfortable," She told him as he pulled the covers further up to her chin and her eyes fell closed. "Could you come and lie with me for a while, please? I just think you talking to me might help distract me long enough that I actually manage to get some sleep."

"Por supuesto," He assured her before rising from the bed and padding around to his side, removing his shoes and climbing in. Shuffling closer to her beneath the covers, he laid down at her back and put an arm around her so that he could pull her back into his chest with a kiss to the hollow between her neck and shoulder. He took a moment to breathe her in, something he always did whenever he kissed her there, and smiled as her familiar scent invaded his senses. He always struggled to put his finger on exactly what that scent was, but he knew it was some sort of spice and he loved it. "Comfortable enough? I can always go and get you another pillow from the wardrobe if you need it."

"Mm…" She shook her head, taking her hand out from beneath her pillow and settling it over his on her stomach. "I could never be anything but comfortable in your arms, corazón, you should have realised that after all these years."

He smirked into her curls. "I love you. Even though I already know I wasted my breath on that little speech I gave."

Giggling, she patted his hand. "I love you too. Even though I already know you'll be bandaged up beside me soon."

"Ay, we really are a pair, aren't we?"

"We are, but we're the best pair. I have no doubt about that."

"No, neither do I," He mumbled as he settled down behind her. "No doubt whatsoever…"
