Hi guys! So, this is my first Miraculous story and I thought I would give it a try! I hope you guys like it! I'm very new to the writing game, so forgive me if anything seems shaky or choppy at first. Disclaimer- I do not own Miraculous: The Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, nor the characters as well. I only own my O.C. and her Miraculous, though I don't own who my O.C.'s partner is, nor the show it comes from either. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The city of Paris seemed quiet and calm, where not a sense of worry or dread filled the nighttime sky. However, danger has a way of sneaking up on you, and the streets were not always safe. A little girl was walking down the street, carrying a purse on her shoulder while she strolled, completely unaware that there was someone following her. A strange man in a business suit and a bandit mask was following the woman and waited for the perfect moment to strike before he ran past her, swiping the purse with blinding speed. He ran off before she could respond, as the woman panicked, shouting, "Help! Thief"! The man cackled loudly as he ran with the purse in hand, thinking he was gonna get away with this dastardly crime. However, what he didn't know was that as he ran, someone was following him. Up high on top of the buildings of Paris, there was a figure running and hopping from building to building. In the dark of night, her appearance seemed hard to identify, but under the lens of what looked like a mask, female brown eyes could be seen. And on the tips of the mask were little balls of light, one on each tip, do they almost looked like antennas. On her head were a set of antennas with glowing tan sphere at the end. The figure was approaching a very wide gap between two buildings, but that did not seem to scare her, if anything, it made her more determined. The figure ran with all of her might and then made a leap of faith, jumping over the gap under the moonlight, which revealed her entire ensemble. She had on a light yellow mask that looked like a firefly face with yellow see-through lenses, a golden bodysuit with a necklace that had a little light blue firefly charm on it, silver armbands, each one having a bright light on it, almost similar to the light of a flashlight, bright purple-and-yellow pants, brown boots, a tan cape, and under the cape, which came out while she leaped into the sky, a beautiful pair of wings that allowed her to fly the missing distance she needed to overcome the gap and land safely on the other side. The moonlight revealed she had wavy blue hair that hung around her upper back, with curved bangs hanging out over her mask, but stopping a bit halfway before it could cover her eyes, and part of her hair was tied to look like 6 oval appendages that went around the back of her head.

The girl kept following the bandit that kept running away with the purse, as she then leapt down and landed right in front of him, saying while crossing her arms, "You're not going anywhere"! The bandit skidded to a stop as the figure then brought her arms up, crossing them in an X formation, and shouting, "Light Shine"! From her armbands, the lights shined so brightly, it caused him to reel back and cover his eyes, feeling blinded. Once the man lowered his arms and saw that the girl was gone, as he looked around, wondering where the figure went. When he turned out to look behind him, he saw a bipedal, canine-like creature with predominantly blue and black fur, a short, round spike on the back of each forepaw, red eyes, a long snout, and ears, two pairs of pointed teeth, one in the upper jaw and one in the lower, which were not seen yet at the moment, a medium-length tail of the same blue color as well, and it was standing on its toes rather than on its entire foot, and four black appendages that hang down from its head, similar to the girl's. It was currently wearing a dark red kimono with gold trimmings on the sleeve, a gold striped center, and on his head was a light turquoise headband, and had the same glowing light symbol that looked like the balls of light on the girl's mask right in the middle of it. He stared down the man and readied himself, putting his paws together and forming a glowing blue ball of energy in between his paws. Once it was big enough and strong enough, the creature launched it at the man, which lands and sends him flying, while at the same time, making him drop the purse. The man ended up falling into the back of a police truck, much to the police's confusion.

Meanwhile, the girl jumped down from the building she was perched on, landing beside the creature, as they fist-bumped together, while the girl said, "Excellent work, Lucario." The now identified creature smiled and grunted happily, gently punching the girl's left shoulder as if to say, "You did a great job as well." The girl smiled and said, "Fire Light Off," and suddenly changed back into her normal attire, which consisted of a green-and-red dress that had stripes that made it look like a kimono, purple elbow pads, and knee pads, a matching purple rollerskating helmet on her head, purple rollerskates with red wheels on her feet, and her necklace remained on her. Her necklace glowed a bit before a little floating creature came out of it, giggling while saying, "That's another crime stopped." The creature looked like a firefly with a golden head, light blue eyes, curled antennas with red hearts at the ends of the, a purple body, light blue wings, and a matching light blue thread-like tail that split into two as it draped down her back, and a yellow glowing end that allowed her to shine a bright light. The girl smiled and say, "Yep. We make a pretty good team, Go-Glow," as the firefly creature then said, "Yeah, but you and Lucario make quite the pair, Korra. You both stopped that bandit like it was nothing"! Lucario grinned and crossed his arms in pride while Korra chuckled, saying, "Well, it wasn't easy, but we always end up achieving our goal. Now, let's get out of here before someone sees us. Go-Glow, return," as the firefly creature returned to the necklace. Meanwhile, Korra looked down at the necklace, saying, "To think, I've only had her for about a year, Lucario. I'm still not used to being a hero, especially possessing a Miraculous as rare as this one. I haven't even found out where she came from. And ever since we moved her to Paris from Japan last week, I've still been wanting to figure that question out. Do you think we will ever find out"? Lucario shrugged as if he was unsure how to answer that question. Korra gently tugged at the necklace, rubbing the firefly charm with her thumb while saying, "Don't worry, Go-Glow, you're always gonna be safe right here with us. Lucario and I have sworn to protect you, and that promise will always be kept."

Lucario nodded in agreement before he suddenly perked up, sensing something, which made Korra notice and ask, "What's up? Sensed something"? Lucario nodded and closed his eyes, focusing his energy, which led to Lucario suddenly being enveloped in a shiny blue glow, while his appendages rose and waved around, due to the power of the energy. When Lucario opened its eyes, instead of his eyes being red, they were glowing blue too, signifying he was seeing something Korra couldn't. From Lucario's perspective, he was looking around at the city, sensing the different colored lights that people were giving off, before looking up on top of a building and spotting someone with red energy on top. That person then soon seemed to walk away, as Lucario growled, letting Korra know that the person he sensed had a bad aura, and was set to chase after the figure he sensed. But Korra stopped him, saying, "Hold it, Lucario. We don't know if the person you sense has any malicious intentions set to put in motion yet. We must keep an eye out, and act if necessary; we don't want to accidentally cause an alarming state. Besides, we still have to return the purse to the woman that man stole it from." Lucario nodded in understanding as the duo began to walk back in the direction they ran to find the woman that had her purse stolen, and brought it back to her. The next day, in an apartment building, Korra was asleep on her bed, snoring softly as she hugged her pillow, not wanting to get up. The room was painted red, and it had a simple wooden desk, a laptop perched on it, with a portable charger and outlet for her laptop and phone, which was currently on the desk next to her laptop, a chair to sit in by her desk, and a green wool rug. While Korra did not have much yet since she and Lucario, who was asleep on the floor next to Korra, were still new to the city, she did have plans to go buy furniture soon, once she found a stable job to earn money to get furniture. Her necklace remained by her phone, shining under the sunlight, as her clock soon started to buzz, showing the time on the home screen, which was 7:10 am. As the phone buzzed, Go-Glow came out of the Miraculous, saying, "Wake up, wake up! It's time to get out of bed"! However, seeing that neither one wanted to wake up, Go-Glow giggled mischievously, flying over to Korra and shining her light on her face, saying, "Wakey wakey"! Korra stirred before lifting her arm up to shield her eyes, saying, "Go-Glow, do you really have to do this? It's early in the morning." Go-Glow giggled, saying in response, "Well, if you were always more vigilant with your alarms, I wouldn't have to use my light to wake your sleepy butt up, now would I"? Korra sat up and yawned, saying, "I hate Mondays," while Go-Glow added, "Don't we all"? Lucario soon stirred and sat up, yawning while stretching his arms before groaning tiredly, indicating it wanted more sleep too.

Korra then said, "Well, we can't dilly-dally; today's our first day at our new school, and I don't want us to be late, so let me just grab my things, and then we can eat, and head out." Lucario walked over to the end of the bed and picked up a school backpack (blue with red flowers (roses) on it) that was on the floor, and tossed it to Korra, who placed a packed pencil case, some books, a binder, notebook, and her laptop inside. After zipping it up, she grabbed her phone, placed it in the pocket of her dress, and then sat in the chair as she placed on her skates, saying, "I hope the people in this school will be nice and chill; and not be a bunch of overacheving, narcissistic hotshots like our school back home." Lucario grunted in agreement, sticking his tongue out and making a gagging sound while pointing at the inside of his mouth, meaning that he agreed with Korra about how the people were in her old school. Once Korra had her skates on, she slipped on her Miraculous necklace and skated out of the bedroom and went across the hall, with Lucario and Go-Glow following her. Inside, the kitchen too was simple, only having a fridge, a sink with a dish drain for the dishes, a cabinet with a few dishes, cups, and utensils sitting there, and a stove with an oven to cook and bake food with, along with a microwave above the stove. Korra skated to the fridge and pulled out what looked like a pack of chocolate chip muffins, licking her lips, as well as Lucario, who also liked chocolate chips muffins. However, Go-Glow quickly flew towards the pack and picked it up, asking with a smirk, "you're not thinking about eating these for breakfast, are you"? Korra sheepishly smiled and scratched the back of her head, saying, "Uh...maybe"? Go-Glow placed the pack of muffins back in the fridge and pulled out a carton of eggs, saying, "Here, try something a little simpler, and a lot healthier." Korra rolled her eyes, but couldn't help but laugh as she said while taking two eggs out of the carton and placing it back in the fridge, "Seriously? Since when did you become my mom"? Go-Glow replied, "I'm just making sure you don't overdo yourself with those treats like you did last time. You ended up with a stomach ache the whole day, and when you had to fight that ninja, how you stopped him wasn't exactly the most "beautiful" method." Korra blushed in embarrassment, saying, "That is true, and that was a lesson learned the hard way: don't try to fight crime if you have an upset stomach. But at least that scared him all the way back to prison." Korra turned on the stove and cracked the two eggs, frying them, while Lucario pulled out the bread from the fridge and took out two slices, placing each slice on a separate plate.

Once the eggs were cooked, Korra flipped the pan to make the eggs fly across the kitchen and land safely on the bread, one fried egg for each slice of bread. She then plopped the pan into the sink and picked up a plate, saying, "Almost done. I just need to get one last thing," and walked once more to the fridge, pulling out a small basket of blueberries. Go-Glow flickered her light excitedly and flew to the basket, saying, "Now, breakfast is served," and plopped a blueberry in her mouth. Korra let Go-Glow pick and eat the blueberries while commenting as she picked up a plate of bread and eggs to eat, "I still don't get why you like blueberries. They're always too juicy for me, and Lucario doesn't like to eat food that's the same color as him." Lucario didn't seem to be listening as he grabbed a bottle of ketchup from the fridge and drizzled it onto his eggs and bread, putting it away before picking the food up and taking a huge bite, enjoying it. Go-Glow replied, "Well, to me, it's the perfect amount of juiciness, sweetness, and it's easy for me to eat. Plus, if you say it enough times, it rolls off the tongue! Blueberry, blueberry, blu-ooh-ooh berry"! Korra and Lucario chuckled from watching the tiny Kwami's energy burst again as they continued to eat before their bellies were full and the team was set to go. Korra strapped on her school bag, and readied to skate to the door, saying, "Let's do this." Lucario adjusted the headband on his head before nodding in affirmation and Go-Glow quickly went back inside the Miraculous as Korra opened the door. Lucario ran out first before she swung the door closed and slid down the stair banister and out of the apartment complex, with Lucario hot on her tail. Korra skated through the busy streets without a care in the world, cheering as she weaved around the crowd of people and easily jumping over obstacles. Lucario ran after her, using its speed to catch up with the skating human as he leaped on top of lighting posts, cars, and nearby buildings, as a way of getting leverage. When Korra saw Lucario catching up, with a determined smirk on his face, the two nodded heads and decided to race, going neck and neck to get to school first. Korra and Lucario were having fun racing when suddenly, something made them stop. Korra smelled a strange scent in the air that made her ask, "Hey, what's that smell"? She and Lucario took a moment to sniff the air, before Korra commented, "It smells...sweet and...delicious"! Lucario seemed to have the same thought, immediately getting drawn to the scent and licking his lips in enjoyment.

Both of them wanted to know what that scent was as they followed the scent trail, sniffing the air while trying to figure out where it was coming from. They wandered for a while until they came across a little bakery that said "Boulangerie Patisserie." Korra looked at it confusingly, commenting, "Ummmm, what is a "Patisserie"? Is that like some sort of fashion shop"? Seeing his master confused, Lucario himself didn't know either, until they heard a voice behind them asking, "Excuse me, are you lost"? Both of them turned around and saw a girl with heart-shaped lips, grayish gold eyes, a mole above her forehead, shoulder-length hair that was wavy and reddish-brown ombre with brilliant tangelo tips, that wore black horn-rimmed glasses, with a white spot on each side,a white tank top underneath a short-sleeved plaid shirt with white, beige, orange, and purple stripes; light blue jeans, and white sneakers with black tops, along with crimson lipstick. Korra looked at her in confusion, replying, "um, no, we're not lost. Just, uh, confused. Do you know what a "Patisserie" is? I don't understand French very well yet." The girl smiled and said while approaching them, "No worries. The "Patisserie" is just a fancy way of saying pastry shop. My best friends' parents work there, and they actually live in the same apartment complex as the shop." Korra and Lucario both seemed to be really impressed, with Korra saying, "Wow, your friend must be so lucky! Living in a live-in pastry shop, imagine getting to eat all the pastries you want every day"! Lucario grunted happily, his eyes glistening in awe at the thought of indulging on pastries, before the girl saw Lucario and commented, while surprised, "Woah! Girl, you got a very unique dog! Never seen one walk on two legs, or wear a kimono like that." Lucario heard the girl's comment and huffed, feeling a bit offended, as Korra said while patting Lucario on the back to help him feel better, "Lucario isn't a dog, he's my friend and a very special creature. I'm Korra by the way. Lucario and I are actually new around here; we just moved here from Japan last week." The girl smiled while saying, "Really? Woah, that's cool! I'm Alya, nice to meet you." Both girls shook hands before Alya said, "i was actually gonna head to the patisserie to meet up with my friend so we could walk to school together. Want to join me"?

Korra nodded while saying, "Sure, we'd love to"! With that, both girls, along with Lucario, walked into the pastry shop and were greeted with the marvelous scent of baked goods, ranging from croissants to cream puffs, and even macaroons. Just the scent alone was enough to make Korra and Lucario's mouths water in awe. In the bakery, there was a large counter displaying a large array of treats. Lucario immediately ran to the glass counter, pressing his face up against the glass as he looked at the many treats on the display, with Korra saying while standing next to him to look, "Wow, they look so good"! Alya commented, "Yep, when it comes to treats, here are the best ones in town! My friend's a good baker, you should try her macaroons"! As on cue, someone piped in, saying, "Did someone say, "Macaroon"? Everyone turned around and saw another girl standing behind them, as the girl had a slightly light skin tone, medium-length black hair with blue reflections tied back in pigtails, pink lips, bluebell eyes, and light freckles on both sides and the bridge of her nose, wearing a very dark gray blazer with rolled-up sleeves; the inside of the blazer lined white with light fuchsia polka dots, black trimming, while underneath it was a white t-shirt with black stitching and a flower design below the collar, with pink flowers and black leaves as the design, pink rolled-up jeans and light pink ballet flats with reddish-brown soles, black earrings, a light pink purse with a thin black strap over her right shoulder, and while it didn't look visible to Alya or Lucario, to Korra she could see the girl was wearing a Kwagatama necklace under her t-shirt. The new girl was also holding a pink box that was full of so many different colored macaroons, and they smelled really good. The new girl looked up at Korra and Lucario, waving at them while saying, "Hi there, welcome to my family's bakery." Korra and Lucario looked at the girl curiously before Korra narrowed her eyes on the girl's earrings and gasped, on the inside, in shock, instantly recognizing them, but didn't say anything at first. Meanwhile, Lucario was eyeing on the macaroons, which the girl noticed and approached Lucario, offering it a purple macaroon, saying, "Here, want to try it"? Lucario looked at the macaroon curiously, holding it while taking a bite into it. He chewed a bit before he smiled brightly in awe, loving it as he quickly plopped the whole thing into his mouth and ate with, with Alya commenting, "Wow, guess even creatures love your macaroons, Marinette"!

The now identified girl smiled, saying, "Well, I do love to bake them, and seeing others enjoy them is a treat in itself for me." Alya then faced Korra and Lucario, saying, "Oh, Marinette, meet Korra and Lucario; they're new in town." Marinette seemed happy to hear of it, commenting, "Really? Wow, that's incredible, " before she faced the duo, saying, "It's nice to meet you. I'm-," before Korra finally snapped out of her shocked state and commented loudly, but not too loud so no one else could hear, "Ladybug"?!

Well, that's all I have for now, folks! since it's my first time writing, I didn't want to go overboard too much on the first try. Any comments or advice you want to give, I'm more than happy to hear from you, but any thing that is considered bullying or beyond that, I will not take too kindly to. As you have met, this is my Miraculous O.C. Korra (her last name will be revealed later), and her partner is a Lucario (whose origins you'll learn about later on), and her Miraculous is a firefly Kwami named Go-Glow (you'll learn more about her and her origins too later on). This takes place around after "Gangs of Secret" so yes, Alya already knows about Marinette being Ladybug, before you ask me. I hope you enjoy the first chapter, and stay tuned for the next one.
