Sanae Hanekoma had no idea what to think, when the Composer came into his coffee shop followed by almost every single student in the school. He'd known, of course, that his surrogate son would rewrite his history...it was a nececcety, after all, since the boy was almost eight decades dead...but he never imagined the burden the Composer had put on himself to maintain the illusion. Of course he'd factored every possible outcome, and had planned this, as he said, far in advance, way before meeting little Raimu Bito...so he'd obviously been prepaired.
He also seemed to want to reward his faithful Producer for daring to speak to the High Council and get his rewriting of his past sanctioned, by flooding WildKat with new customers.
This pleased the Barista. Very much. Still, he couldn't help but tease the boy a little...
"Quite the entourage you have with you today...Mister CEO. Don't you have that meeting with the board this afternoon?"
Joshua didn't miss a beat, but flipped his hair with a smirk
"The usual, if you would. I have...higher priority...duties on my schedual. The board will have to wait. Maybe I'll even recommend your house blend. Might shut them up about that stupid renovations project they want funded for a while."
Sanae nodded with a smile. "Ah I see. The Game's on this week isn't it? Which team you rooting for?"
"Kariya is looking into inviting the Reapers' Coach for dinner tonight. Something about advertising fior a new roster. The Players just aren't cutting it this season."
"Is he expecting you to recruit anyone?" the barista raised an eyebrow.
Joshua giggled "You know that's not allowed. I simply finance the team. I don't make their roster calls. Though the one time I did so legaly, I got a star player, didn't I?"
"You did indeed. Where's your plus one, by the way?"
The boy looked annoyed and threw up an arm in exasperation "Even I am powerless to change the school rules, Sanae. She is in a lower grade and cannot go off-campus at this time. It's really quite pointless."
The barista looked at the crowd in his tiny Café with wide eyes "These are just the seniors and Juniors?!"
"Pretty much. I had the entire student body flanking me during breaks. It was very crowded. Of course, they can't get too close."
Sanae nodded. It was established early on that the Conductor would basicly shadow the Composer from the UG while he attended his classes and walked the halls of the school, giving anyone who got too close an uneasy, imprinted feeling of wanting to stay back, except the Proxy and his friends. Joshua at first wanted to employ Luc, one of his Gate Reapers, but then decided Kariya would do just as well. Besides, he needed all the Gate Reapers at the Kiryu Estate, since that was now his temporary residence.
The time came for everyone to head back to class, and Sanae was sad to see them go. But he perked up when he noticed how funny it looked when no one left until Joshua went out the door. Then, like a river flowing, or sheep following, they all filed out at his heel.
And by the way he was strutting down the street, no one in the RG, UG, or Higher Plane could tell Sanae Hanekoma that Shibuya's Composer was not milking it for all it was worth.
