"You honestly shouldn't show off so much, boss." Kariya lightly chastised as he drove the Composer back to the place he was currently calling home "I was on my break while you were in class. Had to get some stuff done with Uzuki. If I had been late..."
"If you had been late, Kariya, I would have handled it. The illusion would have had to hold, but you know I would never let some mortal delinquent erase me." Joshua flipped his hair "However, I'm ever so greatful you were there. Raimu already fears me on some level. I did not wish to give her any more reason to fret."
"Like your little stunt with the Camero?"
Joshua smirked
"Please. Raimu is well aware of my abilities. I daresay she enjoyed that little trick."
"Whatever, Boss. By the way, Hanekoma is gonna meet us to discuss some things."
"He better have brought the house blend." Joshua grumbled "Just because I'm the richest protegy tycoon in Tokyo doesn't exempt me from the torment that is tedious amounts of homework I have to complete."

Rhyme flopped on her bed, a relieved sigh escaping her lips as the tension left her muscles. She had been nervous all day in school, and the stunt Reggie had tried to pull nearly gave her a heart attack. She was honestly surprised the Composer hadn't taken action himself.
Reggie had had an awful lot of Noise surrounding him after the music teacher had mentioned Joshua's potential win at that year's talent show. No doubt feeding off his jealousy, the creatures of negativity swarmed the youth almost immediately, and hung around even after he tripped and fell.
Rhyme was sure Joshua would slightly smite the blonde for daring to pull a knife on him, but the Composer simply glanced at him in an amused pity before continuing his conversation with her. Of course she knew he couldn't reveal what he was publicly, so she waited to see what he'd do after school.
He'd done nothing.
She was surprised. Joshua had not even given his assailant another glance as the classes let out. Reggie however was still swarmed by Noise and looked like he was game to try again, but by the time he decided to act, the elusive Kiryu had entered his limo and was out of reach with a smile at Rhyme, wich she returned with a small wave.
The girl pondered this odd fact. The Composer had not acted to punish his attacker. Yet he had gone completely livid when he found out what Victor had done to Rhyme. This suggested that Joshua valued her safety more than he did his own. As sweet as that was to think about, Rhyme found herself wondering if the Composer was aware of his reasons behind his ire when it came to her mistreatment.
Her thoughts were interrupted by her cheery ringtone. Curious, she picked up. "Hello?"
"Raimu."
She felt her throat close up "Joshua?" she managed to squeak.
"Forgive me for calling at such an odd hour. I simply wished to invite you to the Estate tomorrow after school. Are you available?"
She trembled. He was asking her over...What else could she say?
"S...sure! I'd love to come! Oh, but first, I have to go to the shelter. There's some things I need to do there that can't wait."
"I look forward to seeing your passion in action." Joshua said eagerly "That will not be a problem. See you tomorrow, Raimu."
As soon as she hung up, Rhyme felt the butterflies return to her stomach.
