Severus eyes were wide open as his body trembled beyond his control, he felt completely overwhelmed, everything was too much and this was his limit, he couldn't take it anymore and little by little he began to feel alien to his body as if someone else was in control and he was just a mere spectator. The light began to blind his eyes and the slightest sound made him flinch.
A part of him, the rational one that tried to keep his sanity told him that he shouldn't be so surprised, he should have known that someday it would come to this and on more than one occasion he had thought about it but this time it was real, it had happened and they had almost succeeded. He really wondered what he had done so terribly to deserve so much hatred in his life. As his anxiety continued to grow, overwhelming him, a voice was heard in the background but it didn't seem to come from his mind, he had to make a great effort to make out the words.
"Severus?" - Called the headmaster again, the boy had been immobile already for several minutes in front of him and it was beginning to worry him. He knew that what had just happened could be a traumatic experience but he really needed the boy to come to his senses to rectify the situation. He momentarily contemplated calling Madame Pomfrey if the boy was still unresponsive. He made one last attempt and this time the boy seemed to respond to his voice.
"Severus, are you all right?" - The headmaster asked the young Slytherin but apparently that wasn't the best thing to do as while he got a reaction it definitely wasn't what he was hoping for. The black-haired boy shot up from the chair he had been in for the last few minutes and his eyes were filled with anger and disbelief at the question that snapped him out of his shock.
"Am I alright? Are you seriously asking me if I'm alright after almost being eaten by a fucking monster?" - Shouted the exalted boy with his body being racked with tremors. The Gryffindor next to them was about to return the insult to his friend but the other bespectacled Gryffindor stopped him after looking at the Slytherin's violent reactions. Dumbledore looked at the freaked little boy with concern as he began to have what looked like a panic attack but that didn't stop him from continuing his shouting.
"It's not like my life is important, what difference does it make if I die today or tomorrow? I'm nothing but a nuisance to everyone anyway, I've never concerned anyone here, why should I now?" -Severus shouted between gasps and trembles. The Headmaster was looking at him as if he were possessed and if Severus wasn't in the middle of a crisis he might even scoff but at the moment he was not amused by the situation at all. - "Severus I understand this is difficult for you but it's not like that, every student in this school is important to us."
Severus let out a broken laugh full of irony that seemed at any moment would turn into hysterical crying. - "You all know better than that, they, they're the favourites you let them do as they please with no consequences! No one ever bothers to investigate, just because it's them automatically the culprits are everyone else, if anyone had ever bothered to check their wands they would have seen that they aren't innocent as they make out, but no, who cares, they're rich and powerful pureblood wizards so no one touch them!"
Dumbledore frowned at the accusation, while he admitted that sometimes he could be a little more bias with the boys of his house, being accused of being a purist offended him personally as he himself had spent years fighting for the inclusion of all, he had even accepted Remus into the school despite his condition in order to show that it was possible to integrate werewolves into educational institutions. Before he could even defend himself the Slytherin continued.
"Who the hell cares about a poor, ugly half-breed like me, I have nothing good to offer so I can go to hell, I'm disposable! What's more I'm sure you won't give them any kind of punishment for what happened, who cares if they tried to kill someone if it's someone unimportant." The tears had finally started to overflow and the boy didn't seem to have control over his body.
"Severus, I assure you that things are not like that, but I can't do anything too extreme either because I would be asked for explanations that if I gave them I would risk not only the stay but the life of one of the students." Replied the worried man, he knew what the two young lions had done was very wrong but the consequences if handled carelessly could be fatal. Severus let out a loud cry that scared everyone present.
"I-I knew it! My worthless existence is of no interest to anyone. I-I should do everyone a favour and end it myself before anyone else bothers to try..." The words spoken by the black-haired youth startled the headmaster, even more as he grabbed one of the ornaments on his desk and threw it down hard and then picked up a glass with enough edge to pierce the pale skin. The headmaster barely had a few seconds to react and wave his wand to remove the glass from the young man's hand as he began to make a cut on his left wrist.
Severus turned to see the man with a completely shattered look on his face, questioning why he had stopped him from improving everyone's lives. The old Headmaster understood with that look all the damage to the young wizard and couldn't help but feel responsible. With cautious steps he approached the young man waving his wand again to bandage the small cut the Slytherin had managed to make. - "Severus listen to me you are important and you must never try to do anything like that again I know I have been wrong in the past but I promise I will help you. They will be punished I promise, I can't expel them or suspend them because that would put Remus at risk but I will put a stop to it."
The headmaster turned to look at the other two and sighed. "You are both expelled from the quiditch team and will have detention with me for 3 months, in addition to that you won't be ineligible for prefect or head boy positions, Mr. Lupin will be on probation at risk of losing his head boy position if he is not making good use of it, and..." The wizard waved his wand at Severus - " Mr Snape will carry a monitoring spell at all times any damage done to his person will be detected by this along with the perpetrator and the consequences will be severe."
The lions could not even complain before the Headmaster ended the conversation and took the overwhelmed black-haired boy to the infirmary for a check up.
