DM Margo Goes Missing Chapter 1

It was a lovely afternoon at Gru's house. Lucy was busily sorting out her AVL papers when Margo came up to her. "Hey, Mom?" said Margo. "Margo, I am really, really busy right now. I need to finish this hard work ASAP" said Lucy, not having much time for her daughter. "But you're always busy'' Margo protested. "Yes, Margo, I am. And right now I wish you were busy as well" replied Lucy. ''We could go for a trip together for a mother and daughter relationship down to the beach and tell me more about your parents'' suggested Margo. "I said NOT NOW, Margo!" said Lucy, sharply, ''Why don't you just GO and find someone else to hang around with?! ARGH!" she growled. Margo backed away, she couldn't believe her eyes and ears. ''But, Mom..." Margo started to say, but Lucy cut her off, "NOW! Just...agh! Leave me alone!" she said.

Margo left her mom to continue working, she remembered the Bob The Builder special, ''Snowed Under: The Bobblesberg Winter Games'' where Scoop yelled at his friends. Scoop had hurt everyone's feelings with everything he said to them. All because he had arguments with Muck and Benny and Dizzy had called him Grumpy Scoop which only made things worse. Next Margo found her dad, "Hey, Dad!" she said. ''Margo, I am kind of busy right now" said Gru.

"Busy with what? Talk to me, Dad. I'm so bored" whined Margo. "Alright, if you are that bored, Margo, why don't you go and explore or something. But don't disturb my Minions" said Gru firmly. "Urgh...fine" said Margo as she walked away. The minions were arguing all at once, chattering in minionese. Kevin and Stuart started hitting each other, slapping, punching and wrestling. ''Fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight...'' chanted the other minions. "PACK IT IN!" roared Gru. This made the fighting stop at once. Margo went back into the hallway and saw her uncle, she started to question him too. "Hi, Uncle Dru, can you spend time with me?" Margo asked. Dru was sorting out his Freedonia weapons, "Uhhh... sorry, Margo. I'm in the middle of something right now and I hate to be distracted.

Why don't you ask your mother or father?" he said. ''Hey, I did that already! But they're busy!" said Margo. ''OK, then, try asking your sisters then?" suggested Dru. Now Margo was really determined to get someone to hang around with her and found sisters playing mud pie fights with Lucky, Blondie and Kyle. Blondie and Kyle was barking, Lucky was bleating and Edith and Agnes were cackling. "Hey, guys! I'm joining in!" said Margo. "Sorry, Margo, you said you hate getting muddy" said Edith. "Maybe later" said Agnes. So once again Margo walked away and by now, she was really fed up. Just then, Margo had an idea. She could take herself off somewhere, who would notice she was gone if everyone was busy?

Margo packed some things into her rucksack and found some dollars. Then she opened the front door as quietly as she could, closed it behind her and headed for the bus stop. The bus arrived and Margo got on and asked the bus driver for a ticket to the beach and handed over the money. The driver gave her a strange look as if to think she was a little young to be catching the bus on her own. But Margo paid this no attention, she calmly found herself an empty seat and sat down and the bus drove off. It soon arrived at the beach and Margo got off the bus, looking forward to a day out all by herself where she could do whatever she wanted. Margo wondered down to the beach where she stayed all afternoon and had a lovely day. When the sun began to set, Margo knew she had to catch a bus home again but suddenly flock of seagulls flew past her, startling her and her glasses fell off. "Oh, no! My glasses!" she said.

Margo got down on her knees and felt for her glasses until she found them and put them back on. Margo made a dash for the bus home, but she wasn't looking she was going and fell down a man hole where the cover was taken off! ''Whoa!'' she said as she plunged downwards. THUMP! Margo tried to climb out, but she kept slipping back down, she was stuck. "HELP!" shouted Margo, her voice echoing. ''HEELLLP!" she shouted again and again. Back at Gru's house, it was getting late, ''OK, girls, time for bed." said Gru.

"Uh, wait a minute. Where's Margo?" asked Dru, looking around. ''What? Isn't she here?" said Lucy, starting to worry, "OK, where's she got to?" asked Gru. Lucy noticed it was getting darker and darker outside by the minute outside. "What could've happened to her?" she thought, It's gettin' dark out there." she told Gru and Dru. "I think I'm beginning to feel like something must be wrong. Everyone start searching for her!" said Gru. He thought that Margo might have left the house without telling anyone like she had done so before.
