DM Margo Goes Missing Chapter 2
Everyone split up to search for Margo, calling her name. But of course Margo wasn't there to answer. One of the minions dressed up like Margo like one of them had dressed up like Lucy to cheer everyone up to no avail. "Well, have you found her?" asked Dr Nefario.
"NO!" said everyone at once. "We've searched high. We've searched low. We've search everywhere. Not even Blonide could find her with her doggy nose" sighed Dru. "This is terrible. It's terrible. It's getting dark, and poor Margo, she's out there somewhere and she's all on her own." said Lucy, feeling ashamed. "It's my fault. It's all my fault. Ya know, all she wanted is to spend time with me but I was too busy, which made me lose my temper'' she said, grabbing Gru by the jacket and shaking him repeatedly. "And now...and now look. I just told her to go away'' Lucy went on.
"Honey, you mustn't blame yourself'' said Gru, gently. But I do. I do, Gru! What if something's happen to her?!" Lucy wailed. Fred McDade came over. "Hello. What's ever the matter?" he asked. "It's Margo. She's ran away from home and we couldn't find her anywhere'' replied Gru not noticing him at first, but then he realised, "HEY! Fred?! What are you doing on my property?!" Gru roared. ''Uh, oh!" said Fred as he ran off. "ARRGGHH!" said Gru as he lunged at Fred, but he missed him. "But if you're looking for her, I've heard her said that she's gone off on her own. A long way away'' said Fred, going into his house.
"A long away?!" asked Lucy. "Where's a long away? Where's that? I gotta think'' she said, thinking hard with intelligence sparkling. "I got it! I know! Margo wanted to go to the beach. She must be there at the beach." Said Lucy, finally understanding. She hurried outside to the garage for her three mode car and drove off into the night to find Margo. "Momma's comin', Margo!'' said Lucy. Meanwhile inside the man hole, Margo was feeling cold, lonely and miserable with her arms wrapped around her body. She screamed for help again so loud her throat hurt. She wailed weekly to herself, she knew that she had screwed up once again cos she had been headstrong. "Help…" screamed Margo again, helplessly, "I wished I hadn't gone off on my own. I want my mom" she thought. Margo lay on her stomach with her face in her arms and sobbed.
Outside a car vrooming was approaching. Lucy got out of her car and found the open man hole cover, she thought she could hear the sound of someone crying quietly down there. ''Who's there?'' called out Lucy, shinning a torch she'd brought with her. Margo heard the shouting and lifted her tear streaked face and saw a flash of light shining down the man hole at her. Margo thought the shouting, sounded awfully like Lucy's voice! ''Mom?'' she said, meekly. Lucy heard her daughter's voice say Mom, and knew Margo couldn't be too far away now. ''Margo!'' she shouted. "MOM!" shouted back Margo, cheering up instantly. "Hold on. I'll get you out'' Lucy shouted down the man hole. She stuck her arm down towards Margo. Margo jumped up trying to reach her mom's hand, she missed the first two times, but she finally did it the third time round.
"I got it!" said Margo. Lucy possessed her incredible physical strength to lift her daughter up, even though it was too easy for adults to pick up kids. Margo soon found herself out of the man hole and reunited with Lucy who hugged her very tightly. Margo hugged Lucy back while the two of them sobbed with happiness. "Oh, baby. I was worried sick. Thank goodness I found ya'' sniffled Lucy. "Thank you for coming for me, Mom. I was so frightened'' sniffled Margo. "So was I, Margo" said Lucy when they had pulled themselves together. "Really?" said Margo. "Yes'' said Lucy, "And Mom, I'm sorry for running off. I did that because no one wanted to spend time with me'' said Margo remorsefully. And I promise, Margo. I will never ever raise my voice again" Lucy added. "OK." said Margo.
"Yeah, now, don't you go off on your own without telling anyone in future, ya got that?" said Lucy, "It's a deal'' said Margo humbly. ''I promise we'll have sometimes together even if it isn't all the time'' Lucy reassured her daughter. Lucy and Margo sat on the bench watching the stars twinkling in the sky and a shooting star passed by. So Margo learnt not to go off on her own without telling anyone and if something is too far away, she does need an adult with her and she looked forward to spending times with her mom whenever possible.
"I love you, Mom'' said Margo. "Love ya, too, kid" smiled Lucy. She kissed Margo on the forehead.
