Warrior Cats House Sorting
Chapter 1: Firestar
I have seen many people place Firestar in Gryffindor. I suspect this may be because of our tendency to place main characters into that house. However, it is in my opinion that Firestar
Is more of a Hufflepuff than a Gryffindor. I would sort him as a Hufflepuff Primary and Secondary.
For those of you unfamiliar with this system of sorting, primary houses are about the reasoning, motivations and values of a character. Secondary houses are about the behaviors, actions and personality of the character.
Firestar is a Hufflepuff Primary because he is a cat who is deeply motivated to do the right thing all the time. He is quite empathetic and has a level of compassion towards the cats around him that most clan-born cats do not share. A few key examples would be when Firestar fed Yellowfang as an apprentice, fed Riverclan with Graystripe as a warrior and went behind Bluestar's back to reason with Tallstar in A Dangerous Path. All three of these instances, Firestar follows his moral compass 100% and never truly wavers. He does what is right because it is right and not because it is what other cats would want him to do or to look heroic. Hufflepuffs are also loyal, hard-working and just. All of these qualities are what Firestar exemplifies the most.
As for his Hufflepuff secondary, Firestar acts based on what is right and just. An example of this would be his efforts to expose Tigerstar. Once again, he doesn't do it for the glory. But he does it for the good of the clan and for the sake of justice. He does show a bit of Gryffindor traits from time to time such as impulsiveness, stubbornness and rage. His emotional affair on Sandstorm with Spottedleaf and insistence on delaying appointing a new deputy after Graystripe's kidnapping might be Gryffindor-like. But I still believe that those are both weaknesses that are tied into Firestar' fierce loyalty towards the cats he cares about and his emotional sensitivity.
