Victory.

What does it mean to be defeated in a battle that is not your own? What does it mean to win a war that has no glory or any gain.

These questions made one girl stop and hesitate as she had surrounded her enemy.

Her fingers caressed her stack of cards gently. She remembers how thousands of years from now these cards lack the power they once had. How she was bullied, mocked and worst of all how her family and friends turned their backs on her.

A presence walked up behind her. Turning around, round eyes widened she was surprised by what she saw.

'surprised, I wouldn't show such a face before the enemy' I thought as I approached her back.

Grabbing her shoulders she turned red. We stood on a cliff way above the battlefield. I could see her monsters destroying the remaining enemy. Those of the red rose were being defeated as we speak.

I wished to laugh but it would be much too obvious. "Y-your highness" she whispered her breath nearly failing her words.

"You have them cornered...end this charade before they escape" I ordered her as I stared into her eyes.

Her eyes turned away as she drew the next card. She showed it to me, happiness coursed through my bones as she held in her fingers the one card which I gave to her.

"Do it" my hands left her shoulders and instead I grabbed her sides. This woman before me, this stranger from another world another time. A chick with no name and no honor.

This person was the one who would defeat the enemy that caused me so much grief. And with my very own card.

"I summon blue eyes white dragon!"

We celebrated my victory all throughout England, Dukes, Knights, Barons and commoners called my name from everywhere.

I basked in the glory of victory, besting those curs left me feeling like a god.

But I was missing something. After defeating my rivals I would be reeling in the masses and at the very end I should find my beloved to be wed.

Gazing to my right I gazed at the woman who had proposed to me before the war. Daughter of a king, her most outstanding trait is her beauty. And yet I felt disgusted after giving her one look.

Turning away I searched around the great parade of soldiers and nobles. Toward the very back I saw her.

My commander, the stranger, the...woman of my dreams. 'what am I thinking?' I thought as I gazed at her figure.

Dressed in a black robe with a white cape. Her face was hidden behind a metal mask. That day of the final battle she was without her mask. Only I have seen her true face twice.

Turning my horse around I knew deep down I needed to settle my mind before I could become the king of England.

Marching past the parade I headed straight for my commander. People were whispering, but I needed my answers.

She stopped and watched, her chest though small, rose and fell with increasing speeds.

The closer I got the clearer my mind became. I had to do this, the woman who would marry me needed to be just as strong as myself.

Reaching out towards her she was surprised when I grasped her mask.

"No don't!" She screamed at me.

Ripping the mask off her face gasps followed soon. The commander of my forces. A woman with white skin red lips, golden honey eyes with long black hair. Her face had a large scar which made her unattractive.

And yet I desired to keep her that way. To make her my own, dropping her mask I reached out towards her face. My hands covered those small cheeks allowing me to close the distance and claim the ultimate prize.

Cold lips met my warm ones. The world broke away as I felt something I never felt before. Enjoying this feeling my fingers traced her delicate skin. Our eyes gazed into each other's.

Tears fell from her own eyes as she reached out and grasped my arms. Pulling away the magic still remained. Red as an apple she whispered a question.

"What are you doing this for?"*

At that instant I understood her raging storm of emotions. Ever since she was brought into my army she always avoided my gaze. I thought she despised me, but right now I knew the truth.

"Because...I love you" I admitted to all not only myself.

Opening her mouth words failed to form as she lowered her head. Grabbing her sides I easily re!over her from her horse and placed her on my own.

"Enough of this, we move to the church. I shall marry this woman today or god shall never forgive me" I turned around and rode to the front of the parade. The people would whisper, they would talk.

But everyone knew I was the king of York who united England. The strongest man alive.

"Seto, you have work to do" said the voice of my wife.

Laying in bed with her at my side I did not care. "I'll have the court handle the kingdom" I said a I felt her stomach.

"Don't complain when mokuba comes barging in angry because you skipped your duties" she reminded of my brother. Sighing I knew this was going to become a problem.

"If you finish your work early I'll give you something good~" she said with that smile of hers. Feeling her face I smiled.

"Very well then. Make sure you don't stress yourself out, our baby could be hurt" I reminded her as I got out of bed.

"Oh Seto!" She called out as I made my way to the closet.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I wanted to give this to you" looking back she had a white box in her hands. Several nights ago she had brought that into our room but said it shouldn't be opened until it was ready.

"A gift for my lovely husband" opening the box she teased me with the back of a monster card. Approaching her I didn't understand her excitement over a monster card.

"Let me see" taking the card from her fingers I stared at the front. I resisted the urge to smile although my lips betrayed me with a grin.

"Blue eyes ultimate dragon..." I whispered the name. A name befitting the monster of a king.

"Happy birthday Seto" looking at her face I had become used to her scar. Leaning down I kissed her passionately.

Who would've known a stranger could become my best partner.
