Four months after returning to work, Paul, Perry, and Della were having lunch. Della had already fed Maureen who was now asleep in her crib. Della cringed when she smelled her lunch. "Is something wrong?" Paul asked. "I got your usual."

"I know," she breathed out, "I just don't feel well."

Perry felt his wife's forehead, "you don't feel warm." Della quickly ran to her husband's bathroom. Perry followed and took care of his wife as she got sick. "Paul, make sure her food is gone," Perry yelled from the bathroom.

"Already on it," Paul said with his mouth full. By the time Perry and Della walked out, Paul had finished it. "You okay, beautiful?"

She was hunched over, holding her stomach with one hand, and Perry's hand with the other. The two sat on the couch. "I think so."

"Maybe we should call your doctor?" Perry suggested.

"I already saw my doctor."

Just then the phone rang. Paul answered it, "um, Della, it's your doctor."

"Take a message, please," she said tiredly.

Paul finished the call and walked over to the table. He sat and continued eating. "Paul," Perry said, "you didn't write anything down."

"Didn't have to. I won't forget this."

"Forget what?"

"Congratulations you two. You're having another baby."

Perry was ecstatic but noticed that Della wasn't. "Don't you want another baby?"

"It's not that. I just feel so lousy. I'm too sick to be happy."

"Is there anything that sounds good to eat? You need to eat something."

"I don't know. I'll think about it. Go finish your lunch. I'm fine." He reluctantly went back to the table and joined Paul. The man was getting ready to start eating his actual lunch. "What's that smell?"

"Is it making you sick?" Perry asked.

"No, it's making me hungry." Della stood and followed the scent right to Paul. "What's that?"

Paul got up and moved to the other chair, "all yours," he said.

Della sat and started eating Paul's lunch. "Paul, you can't be hungry still," Perry said, "you ate Della's lunch."

"I have a feeling your lunch is next. You better start eating before she finishes." Paul chuckled when Perry pulled his food closer to him. "Yeah, I haven't eaten in months. Gertie eats my food. I have to hide if I want something to eat."

"How much longer does she have?" Perry asked.

"Five months," Paul said, "their leaves may overlap."

"Well, I close down when Della gives birth anyway."

"Would you stop being the perfect husband?"

"No," Perry smiled.

After lunch, Della went to make a few copies. During that time, Maureen woke up. Perry looked up when he heard cooing. He smiled and went to take her out of her crib, "hey, little girl. Did you have a nice nap?"

When Della returned, she found Perry on the floor with Maureen, "what are you doing?"

"I'm playing with the baby."

"Perry, you have work to do."

"I think she's about to crawl. Wait here and don't let her go anywhere." Perry rushed to get a video camera he kept at the office for moments like this. Della put her things down, told Gertie to not disturb for the next fifteen minutes, and sat by her daughter. Perry returned and set the camera up on his desk. After making sure it was recording, Perry sat on the floor. "Maureen," he said to get her attention.

Della picked up Maureen and turned her to face Perry, "look, there's daddy." She placed the baby on the floor.

"Come here, little girl," Perry said. Maureen began to crawl towards her father. He picked her up once she reached him, "that's my girl. Now, crawl to mama." He placed Maureen down.

Paul entered and Maureen crawled to him. "Hey, mini beautiful," he smiled as she crawled. "Did the two of you see that?"

"You're the second one she crawled to. She crawled to Perry a few moments ago," Della explained.

"I was trying to get her to crawl to Della," Perry said.

"My bad," Paul walked over and sat on the floor a few feet to Perry's right. He placed Maureen on the floor, "now, go see your mama."

Instead, Maureen crawled to Perry, "not me," he said, "mama."

"She's definitely a daddy's girl," Della said, "she'll probably be running from me and towards you her entire life."

Perry signaled for Paul to turn the camera off. He did and the couple stood, "I'm sorry, darling."

"Perry, it's not a big deal. The big deal is she crawled for the first time."

"Maybe her first word will be 'mama'," Paul said. He noticed the looks on their faces, "what?"

"She already said her first word," Perry said.

"What was it?"

"What do you think?" Della smiled.

"Dada," Maureen said.

"At least you have another one on the way," Paul said.

"Here, Perry, I'll take her so you can get some work done." Della took Maureen and it was obvious that the baby didn't want to leave her father's arms.

That weekend, the couple decided to take their boat out. They hadn't been able to since Maureen's birth. Perry carried his daughter and their things with him. Captain Noble spotted the little family. "Well, hello, strangers," he said and walked over. "My, she's a beauty."

"Thank you," Perry beamed with pride. "This is Maureen, and this," Perry pointed to Della's still flat stomach, "is her little sibling."

"You two sure didn't waste any time," he grinned, "congratulations."

"Thank you," they said.

"Well, enjoy your outing."

The little family got on the boat and set out. Perry dropped the anchor around the same place he had the time before. Maureen fussed the entire time. Della had taken her down below at one point because she was worried Maureen would squirm out of her arms and get hurt. Della placed a baby gate in front of the stairs down below which angered her baby even more. Once the anchor was down, Perry rushed down below and picked her up, "what on Earth is wrong?"

The girl instantly stopped crying. "She wanted daddy," Della said a bit emotionally.

Perry looked and saw that his wife had also been crying. "Well, let's go to the deck for a while."

"Actually, I'm not feeling well. I'm going to lie down for a bit."

"What's wrong?"

"Just nausea from the pregnancy and the boat rocking."

Perry couldn't tell if she was telling the truth. She had been sick lately, but he also knew she was upset about Maureen. "Well, let me know if you need anything."

"I will," Della laid down as Perry took their daughter upstairs.

When Perry took Maureen downstairs to eat, Della pretended to be asleep. She spent the entire outing down below. It didn't go unnoticed by Captain Noble, that she walked ahead of Perry and their daughter after they returned. He didn't get involved though because it wasn't his business. He did give Perry a sympathetic smile. Perry saw Della in the driver's seat. "You're driving home?"

"Maureen won't let me hold her, so I have to. You can't hold her and drive."

Perry didn't say anything. He just got into the car. Della was pretty quiet the rest of the weekend.
