Astrid was unable to get an appointment for Monday, but the doctors office was able to get Astrid in for today, at 3:15 pm. Hector reassured his wife that he would make sure he was there with her. The appointment would be both the first pregnancy appointment and sonogram. Astrid had the day off, but mostly because Hector insisted she rest when the morning sickness was kicking her butt. Hector reached the office and made his way upstairs to his space. Of course, Jason was already present and waiting with Hector's coffee in hand.

"Good morning, Mr. Haddock!" Jason greeted.

Hector accepted the drink, nodding his head in thanks. "Morning, Jason. And what have I said about formality?" Hector smiled.

"Only when others outside the business are around," Jason chuckled. "Sorry, force of habit."

"It's alright. What's my day look like today?" Hector inquired. Jason followed Hector into his office while telling him about the items on the agenda for the day. However, when Jason mentioned meetings scheduled for after 2:15 pm, Hector quickly stopped him. "Nothing after 2:00 pm, Jay. Astrid has a doctor's appointment and I'm accompanying her. Please reschedule anything beyond that point for me?" Hector asked. "I meant to message you, but it's been a crazy few days."

"Of course, sir! I'll take care of that right now." Jason reassured.

"Thanks, Jay," Hector told him, then pulled out some things that he needed to work on, but was honestly hoping the time went fast because he wanted to be with Astrid and their baby.

Astrid ended up coming to work around 10:00 am and worked until 2:30 pm when she and Hector left to get to the doctor's office. Hector parked and they soon got inside and went to the second floor, then located the office to the left side. Hector got the door for Astrid, and she went right to the reception area.

"Hi, how can I help you?" The woman asked.

"I have an appointment at 3:15 pm. My name is Astrid Haddock," Astrid stated.

The woman looked over a few things. "I have you right here," She smiled. "All insurance information is the same? Address, and phone number?"

"Uh, no. My insurance changed, so did my address," Astrid informed.

The female got a clipboard, then a sheet of paper. "Can you just fill this out for me? And I'll take your insurance cards to copy them into the system," Astrid fished out the cards, handing them to the woman while she accepted the clipboard to fill out. Astrid took a seat next to Hector, beginning to fill the form out.

"What's all that?" Hector wondered.

"Just to update my information. Last time I came here was the start of Junior year at school. All my annual pap-smears have been normal, so I was eligible to move to every three years for the appointments. Last time I came here, I was Astrid Hofferson, with my parents' insurance. I have to update it to Astrid Haddock, with our health insurance," Astrid mentioned, working at filling things out.

"Ah," Hector nodded, understanding. Astrid finished the form five minutes later and returned it to the front desk, also getting her cards back. It wasn't too much longer when the door opened and a nurse came out.

"Astrid Haddock?" The nurse called.

"That's me," Astrid stood, heading over with Hector right behind her. "And this is my husband, Hector Haddock,"

"Pleasure to meet you. If you'll come with me," The nurse let them into the back area. First it was being weighed and measured, then onto being in the exam room where Astrid answered questions about her health. "Now, what brings you in. I see in your file, the receptionist who made the appointment for you listed you took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive?"

"Yes, that right. I've been feeling off for a few weeks and realized a few days ago my period was late, so I took two tests and both came up positive," Astrid explained.

"Alright, and when were you due for your period?" The nurse questioned.

"November 19th. I realized I was late on Saturday, the 23rd," Astrid revealed.

The nurse marked things down, and then stood up. "I'll go fetch the doctor and we'll get this going," She pulled out a blue drape and handed it to Astrid. "Will you remove your shoes, socks, pants and underwear, then drape this over your lower half?"

Astrid nodded to her, the nurse left as Astrid got off the table and kicked off her shoes. "Why do you have to change?" Hector inquired.

"I think it's because of how early on in my pregnancy I am. I'm under eight weeks, so they use some internal vaginal sonogram wand. Completely safe, don't worry." Astrid got off her pants and underwear, then got back on the table with the cloth over her waist and legs. Ten minutes passed before there was a knock and Astrid looked up towards the door. "Come in,"

The door opening revealed the doctor. "Hello, Astrid," The woman greeted.

"Hi, Dr. Dahl," Astrid smiled.

"It's good to see you again," Dr. Dahl took a seat at the desk. "And who is this young man?"

"Hector Haddock, Astrid's husband," Hector introduced himself, shaking the doctor's hand.

"Lovely to meet you. Now, as I understand it, you took two home tests on Saturday the 23rd to discover you're pregnant?" Dr. Dahl read off the file.

"That's right," Astrid replied.

"Okay, so let's see how far along you are. Do you know the date of your last period?" The doctor questioned, getting something out of the drawer near her.

"October 19th," Astrid reported.

The doctor span the dial on the paper disk, then wrote something down in the file. "Alright, so today…You are five weeks and four days along," She informed with a smile. "I'm going to write you a prescription for prenatal vitamins to start taking every morning," She added.

"Thank you," Astrid responded.

"Would you like me to stay your doctor through your pregnancy?" Dr. Dahl asked.

"Oh, yes. Please, if you can?" Astrid hoped.

"Of course," Dr. Dahl nodded. "How about we get a look at that little one?" She offered. Hector and Astrid both nodded, Hector now moving to sit next to his wife as she laid back on the table. Dr. Dahl got the machine up and running, then setting up the wand. "Now, it won't look like much due to how early. But we should get to hear the heartbeat and check placement,"

"Okay," Astrid said as the doctor got Astrid's legs in place, then once the machine was ready, gently inserted the wand. Astrid only tensed a moment, holding Hector's hand. There was a little movement to get the picture up on screen.

"Everything looks great, Astrid. Good placement, I don't see anything that screams problem." Dr. Dahl informed. "Lets check that heartbeat." She turned the sound up and the heartbeat could clearly be heard.

"Oh, babe…" Astrid teared up a little. "That's our baby,"

"I know…" Hector kissed her cheek.

"Everything looks fantastic, Astrid," Dr. Dahl took a few screenshot, then printed the photos out to give to the happy couple. "Now, here's what we call the pregnancy packet. We do it for first-time moms, to answer most questions during the journey to parenthood," She handed Astrid the packet once she was sitting up right with Hector's help. "It has fetal development charts, medications you can take, things to watch for. Just about everything. And you can make all your appointments when you leave today. I'll probably see you again in about five to six weeks for another sonogram." The doctor stated softly.

"Thank you so much, Dr. Dahl," Astrid told her.

"Yes, thank you," Hector said.

"Then I'll see you soon. Congratulations," The doctor left.

Hector helped Astrid get dressed, and soon they were out in the main area making the appointments for the duration of the pregnancy. By 4:00 pm, Hector and Astrid were exiting the office and reach the car. "I'm excited," Astrid told her husband.

"Me too," Hector replied as they buckled.

"We can go through all this tonight, right?" Astrid wondered.

"Of course, how about after dinner?" Hector suggested.

"Sounds good," Astrid nodded. "We're still holding off telling anyone until Christmas?"

"No reason not to, but whatever you want to do, love," Hector stated while driving.

"It would be nice to tell them, but I kind'a want to be just us for a while. You know how our parents will be once we tell them," Astrid chuckled.

"Sadly, I know. Constant harassing in the form of what we plan to decorate with, name choices…The headache." Hector agreed. "I'm down to keep it a secret for a bit." He added.

"We can revisit the idea after my next appointment, for the sonogram. Perhaps by then, a baby will be visible on the picture," Astrid giggled. "How should we tell everyone?"

"Well, we said Christmas so everyone will be together for that." Hector reminded. "Should we just tell them before the meal? Make the announcement that we're having a baby? Maybe during gift exchange?"

"We usually do the meal first, then gifts, then dessert. I think during gifts would be a bit off because it's not really a gift for them," Astrid stated. "During dinner might be alright, but I wouldn't want the whole meal to be baby talk,"

"We could shoot for after dessert? When everyone is relaxing off the food eaten. A nice little conversation before everyone leaves for the night," Hector suggested.

"Yeah, I like that. I just hope our parents won't harass us my whole pregnancy," Astrid mentioned.

"If they start, we'll stop it with reminding them that this is our life and they no longer have a say. Suggestions are welcome, but demanding is not okay. Questions are fine, but not harassing for an answer," Hector informed.

Soon, the two were home and it was 4:30 pm. "I'll get started on dinner," Astrid mentioned.

"I'll help you," Hector joined her in the kitchen.

(Friday, 12/13/19; 5:00 pm)
(Haddock Apartment)

Officially, Astrid was eight weeks along, signaling she is two months pregnant. Hector and Astrid had already taken his office and converted it into a nursery. No furniture had been place yet, there was still seven months to go, but the room was ready when it came time to arrange and decorate. Astrid did have another sonogram earlier today at 9 am, which Hector attended, and they decided on their way back to the office that they should tell everyone the news. Hector was off at 3:00 pm today, and Astrid would be off at 6 pm. Hector had sent out the message to their parents, and friends, about a get together at 5:00 pm. For dinner and hanging out. Happily, everyone responded that they would come. Hector took care of cleaning the apartment and picking up the things they needed for tonight. Of course, he was keeping in contact with Astrid through texts. Now, at 5:00 pm, the first knock alerted Hector that people had arrived. Hector went over to the door and opened it to see his parents, then in-laws. Behind them were his friends.

"Hi, everyone. Come right in," Hector stepped aside. "I'll take coats," He offered.

Soon everyone was inside the apartment, and Hector had set jackets on his and Astrid's bed. "Where's Astrid, Hector?"

"Still at work for another hour," Hector informed after hugging his parents.

"She didn't get off when you did?" Spencer asked.

"I offered her to, but she insisted on making up the time she lost for coming in late for a doctor's appointment this morning," Hector stated. "She'll be home by 6:30 pm."

"How's life been?" Drew inquired.

"Fantastic," Hector smiled.

"You and Astrid still doing good?" Flynn hoped.

"We're great. We've finally gone full married," Hector told them.

"Really? That's awesome, Hector. We're so happy for you two," Alexia beamed. "So no more of the whole dating thing within marriage?"

"When did you decide all that?" Evan wondered.

"About a month ago," Hector mentioned as he went into the kitchen to check on the food. "We said screw it and decided to just take over the master room, fully sharing it."

"So you're settling down finally?" Angela asked.

"We've been settled down," Hector commented gently. "If you're asking about grandkids…" The four parents' eyes widened with hope. "Maybe soon," He smiled.

. . .

(7:00 pm)

Astrid was thirty minutes later, and not answering calls or texts from Hector. Truthfully, he was getting worried as each minute passed.

"You said 6:30, Hector," Marcus said.

"Yes, I'm well aware…" Hector remarked, then got his phone and tried Astrid one more time.

"She usually answers calls. Is it possible things got busy and she just can't take the call?" Heather wondered.

"Not likely. It's after hours, the building is closed to the public. Only those working are overnight janitors and security," Hector said.

"We set that place up to be twenty-four hours…" Spencer remarked.

"And I took over and changed it. No other business's do it, except a select few grocery stores, Dad. All our work is with partners, and if they're all home sleeping overnight, then we got no business to handle. Twenty-four-seven is foolish," Hector told him firmly. Hector dialed the office, if Astrid was there late, she'd be at the main desk. There was no answer as Hector redialed and pressed the number nine after a moment.

"Dreki-Viking Enterprise, security team," Hector heard the head guard answer.

"It's Hector Haddock," Hector stated.

"Oh, Mr. Haddock. Deepest apologies, sir. What can I do for you?" The officer asked.

"Can you do me a favor and send someone to make sure my wife isn't still at reception or on the grounds?" Hector inquired.

"Of course, Mr. Haddock," There was a little radio chatter, but finally, the man came back. "Sir,"

"Talk to me," Hector said.

"We have confirmation that Mrs. Haddock is not in any restrooms, at the reception desk, or in the building. She left at 6:05 pm. However…We've checked the employee lot, and her car is still here. An officer went out to check the license place, and while we've confirmed it's Mrs. Haddock's car…Her purse and phone were found outside the car,"

"You're telling me you can't find my wife?" Hector remarked.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Haddock. But no, we cannot."

Hector sighed. "Get the security tapes rewound to the moment she exited the building for all the areas she would go through to get to her car. I'll be right there, with authorities." Hector hung up, rising to his feet.

"Wait, what's going on?" Angela said quickly.

"I'll talk to them, Hector. You go. Let us know, and if you need anything…" Drew reassured. Hector nodded, quickly running outside and getting Toothless, then darting off for the office.

"What's happening?" Marcus demanded.

"The evidence reveals that something happened to Astrid between leaving the building and returning here. Her car is still in the lot, and outside was her purse and phone. It's looking like she was captured," Drew said. Everyone gasped. "Hector is going to the company to review security tapes and report Astrid missing. I'm sure we'll be kept informed, but for now…It would be best to leave and await that update."

Feeling that they didn't have much of a chose and filled with worry for Astrid, everyone left the apartment. Drew stayed back to make sure the stove top and over were off, then that the place was locked up. Drew sent Hector a message about things, and then left as well.

(7:30 pm)
(Dreki-Viking Enterprise)

"Mr. Haddock, I understand your concern, but we cannot simply get a search going until it's been twenty-four hours…" The police officer told Hector.

"You have video proof that she left the building and reached her car. The video cuts for only a few moments, and then her bag and phone are left where she once stood. It seems pretty cut and dry to me. Now…Procedure or not, something happened to my wife and I want her found. You can help me, or I'll do it myself." Hector remarked. The officer sighed, and nodded to the others with him. Hector sat back in his office chair, prepared to get the report out that his wife was missing. Hector had to worry, Astrid was pregnant and stress wasn't good for the baby. Hector was scared, but he needed to stay calm and focused. That would be the only way to help her from where he was. Hector ended up sending a message out to his parents, in-laws, and all his friends about it officially being filed that Astrid was missing and the force was beginning an investigation for her. Also that he'd keep them updated as he learned of them. Afterward, Hector put his phone down and took a breath. Hector lowered his head and just prayed. Prayed to any of the Gods and Goddess' listening to protect Astrid and his child, for them to be brought home safely.
