Generalluis: Sonic and Surge will sing what they have trouble saying. I think you've waited long enough to enjoy some of the line blurring. "You can continue this story, it's amazing!" You can't tell me what to do!

Giyuufan(CH21): Well, I am glad you're excited.

Crazybeebee: Kit has been desperate thanks to Starline's programming. He has to win her approval, because if not, he's failed his purpose. As for that last bit, it was joke, her getting in all of the swears she couldn't get in while Cream was there.

Tothesong: You could argue that this isn't Sonic's story, but Surge's. It's her story of growth and what I think she should become in the IDW comics. Most of the growth was originally supposed to be around her, but I also saw some for Kit. I'll be honest, I did not expect the little Fennec to be so popular.

"Will Shadow have parts"*

POIRU86: Thank you, I am glad you are having fun.

Albian: My Friend who I talked to about this basically said, "If you don't have Surge team up with someone else, you suck." So I took his advice to heart.

Questions: "Did you plan on them getting answers to their past?" ANS: knowing smile.

"Is the reveal that Starline is dead gonna change your plans?" ANS: No. I think if I change course now, it'll cause the story more harm than trying to work in Starline's "death" into the story with what I've established.

"Is Shadow going to appear in some form?"*

CresentApple: I'm glad you are having fun. Yeah, Surge is a rough case, but it's not exactly her fault. She can't really do evil because she can't do anything of her own accord. She is trapped by her programming, and Sonic see's the potential for breaking that programming. He might be projecting a bit, but Sonic does want her to be good. As for her relationship with Kit, No one said it was healthy. No one. If not for his programming, Kit would have probably run off a long time ago.

You may get your wish…

Giyuufan(CH1): So… I love your enthusiasm, but this would have been better if it were a PM. Yes I am going to continue the story, don't worry. Just remember that I am using an untraditional upload system, with the rollout system.

Surge walked down the street, "I am just saying, the bitch didn't have to stub my toe."

"You're lucky you weren't banned from the club." He laughed, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Surge turned and looked at him. Sonic the Hedgehog, her clubbing buddy. Once her enemy, now her… complicated companion. She wished she wasn't so fucked up in the head. He was actually pretty fun in a "legal, definitely not going to commit arson" kind of way.

Surge snorted, "Yeah… well… her rules are stupid."

The two looked kept a gaze at each other, before Surge broke first. She burst out laughing, which prompted Sonic's counter-laugh. The two turned into psycho fucking idiots, giggling and rolling on the concrete.

"Well… this is a surprise, not one I expected." Surge felt her quills flare up, and she jerked around. There was Starline, standing in the street.

"Well, Doc, I didn't expect to see your fucking ugly mug." Surge grit her teeth, "So I guess we're both dumbasses." She balled her fist.

"On the Contrary. I planned on this. I am here to take you back and return you to your rightful purpose." Starline smirked at her. She wanted to punch him so bad.

Surge laughed at him, "I'm not your fucking play doll. I do what I want, and I want to be here, with Sonic, not as your assassin." Surge growled, balling her fist.

"That's interesting then, considering where he is now." Starline laughed.

Surge cocked her head in confusion. It didn't fucking matter, Sonic was right there, and could back her up. Surge raised her fists when she noticed her gloves. The white gloves had dripped with a dark red liquid.

Surge looked up at Starline, wondering if she hit him so fucking fast she didn't even register it herself.

Starline still kept his smug gaze at her. Then it hit Surge. She turned around and saw Sonic… on the ground. His skull had caved in, crushed by a series of blows. Surge back away, "Sonic, get the fuck up! Come on man!"

Starline laughed, "Well… I suppose you did your job well after all. Well done." He continued to laugh, fucking mocking her.

Surge had killed Sonic, only instead of feeling that relief… it was gone. And Starline was still fucking laughing!

Surge turned to him as her body began to spark in rage. Then… a cool peace came over her. A realization.

Surge threw her head back, and let out a giggling laugh.

Starline's laugh began to slow as Surge's picked up. He began to eye her nervously, like the fucking monster she was.

Starline finally asked as Surge was still in a fit of giggles from her sweet release, "W-what has you so jolly? I thought he was your friend?"

Surge forced herself to calm down, "I've been wanting to kick your ass for a while now. And now, the only one giving me mercy is fucking dead." Surge grinned and leapt on him.

Starline swung his boot around, but Surge knew that trick. She grabbed his boot and pushed upward, knocking the platypus on his ass.

Surge climbed on top of him, and punched him in the face, "Yeah… I don't need friends."

She pulled back and punched him again, "I don't need you."

She twisted and punched him again, "I don't need Eggman."

Surge then grabbed his head, and pulled him up, "And I don't need my fucking family!" She began to pound his face. She pulled no punched, the bastard deserved no mercy. She slammed her fist into his face, again and again, hearing the cracking of his beak.

She saw his mouth burst with blood as his body began to convulse from being hit so hard. And she loved every second of it.

Surge raised her fist for a final blow… then she saw them. The Large, black tenrec male, and the Green tenrec female. They held their hands over their kids' eyes. The adult's eyes… looked at her like a monster.

Surge turned back to see her work. Starline wasn't under her anymore. It was Sonic.

Surge opened her eyes, waking up from that hell. It felt really good to pound that fucking stupid Doctor's face in. He took her life away. It was only fair she took his.

Surge looked down and saw two glowing purple eyes gazing back at her with concern. Surge groaned and rolled out of bed, "I'm fine you, little shit." She ruffled his hair.

Surge then put on her head band, and walked outside her door into the hallway. She could hear movement in the kitchen. Surge walked down the stairs and saw the yellow fox cooking up some eggs.

Faker was sitting at the table, drinking a glass of milk.

Kill Sonic! Kill SOnic!

Surge growled, and Sonic looked up, "Hey, You're up early."

"What? You watching me sleep like a fucking creep?" Surge growled, balling her fist.

Sonic held a finger to his lips, "SSSHHH. Cream is still asleep. I don't want her waking up to hearing you say "Fuck"."

Surge rolled her eyes, but whispered, "Alright, what's the plan then?"

Sonic gestured to Tails, "We'll eat breakfast, then we go and get Vanilla. We'll get her back so Cream can get back to her life."

Surge sighed, "Alright, so we're up and going before the sun is completely up? Fine, let's just get this over with."

Sonic nodded, before looking at Tails, "You got the spot?"

"Yep, She hasn't moved in a while, or at least a few hours. That's probably where she's waiting." Tails gave Sonic a thumbs up.

Sonic turned to Surge, and then to Kit, "Are you guy's ready to save the day again? We all know how awesome you guys are when it comes to helping out."

Surge rolled her eyes, "Don't fucking patronize me." Surge groaned, tapping her foot. It was nice to get complimented. Kit was busy smiling and gawking like a fucking dork.

Sonic smiled, "I'm being serious. I'm glad you're with us." He had a look, a soft smile that felt warm. It wasn't competitive or angry, and it made Surge feel… at peace. It was fucking scary as hell. She was so used to Starline telling her how she needed to get better, that she didn't actually recall a time when a compliment came without a "but".

Surge waited just in case. Sonic kept quiet. Was he being a little bitch, or did he actually mean it. Sonic gave her a smile.

Kill Sonic, Kill Sonic!

Surge shifted, feeling something, she wasn't familiar with inside of her. Surge growled, and reclined back as Sonic finished his breakfast. Once they were done, the speedsters rose from their seats and walked outside.

Surge grabbed Tails, and while Sonic was fiddling with the ring, "Did you find any shit out about Starline or his bases?"

"It takes time. The worm is working its magic, just give me a little more time." Tails scowled back at her. Surge was not used to taking push-back from foxes.

She growled, "Fucking… fine, just keep me informed."

Tails nodded, "I will, calm down." Surge felt a little bit better with that comfort. Maybe the fox was a liar, but Surge would cross that bridge when she came to it.

Sonic threw the warp ring, and called out, "Alright, let's go save Cream's mom!"

Kit and Tails threw their fists up, "Yeah!"

They ran through the portal, leaving Surge outside the house.

Sonic waited by the ring, "You coming?"

Surge rolled her eyes, "Yeah, just don't get why everyone is so fucking pumped up about this shit."

Sonic smiled, and shrugged innocently, "It's Cream, everyone loves to help Cream."

Surge walked through the portal. She understood Cream was a precious, adorable little shit who everyone wanted to love and care for, but this was ridiculous.

She heard Sonic walk up behind her and finally asked, "Alright, asshole, which way we heading?"

Sonic grinned at her, "Well, my dearest Tenrec friend-"

"Don't push your fucking luck." Surge growled, closing a fist as the jungle seemed to hoot and holler at their presence.

"-We are heading East, once again, only a little bit, though." Sonic smiled her way. She needed to either pummel the shit out of him or something. She was not going to be a joke to him. She demanded to be taken seriously.

Sonic ran over and grabbed Kit, before rushing off into the Jungle. Surge picked up the pace, running off with Sonic. The Fox boy kept up with them.

They ran for a few minutes, but unlike last time, it was pretty clear the path they were supposed to take. Surge saw the monkey badniks in the trees, and she jumped up. Sonic took the moment to set Kit down, and Surge felt his curled-up form slam into hers.

Surge felt herself punch through the mechanical monkeys, landing on her feet. It was amazing how in-sync they were moving. She didn't even have to tell Sonic what she was planning. Part of her wondered if he was in her head.

Kill Sonic, Kill Sonic, KILL SONIC NOW!

Surge shook her head in agitation. Sonic actually slowed down, "Are you ok?"

Surge nodded, wincing as her head started to ache. How long was she going to suffer for this? Starline deserved, he deserved to die. Surge was going to send him to an early grave.

Sonic walked over to her and held out a hand. Surge looked up at him. Despite the screaming voice in her head, Surge took it. He wouldn't approve, but it wasn't his call to make. Sonic didn't suffer at Starline's hand, not like Surge had.

If Starline was telling the truth when She and Kit found out in that cursed archive room, Surge would get her fucking closure with Starline's skull instead. He'd better pray some shit surfaced.

Surge began to turn with Sonic. She'd thought she could put it all behind her. Surge could, but it wasn't fair. She had a right to meet her family. They were the only ones who would truly care about her… or maybe she could confront them about not looking for her.

Surge felt herself getting angry as Sonic rolled through a string of wheel badniks. The only people who should have cared about her didn't even bother looking for her. She knew because… It felt right. Surge felt her vengeance pour out as she ran along the muddy ground, slamming into more wheels and monkeys.

She was… She didn't know. Surge had a brief moment of clarity where she would confront her family before making a decision. She needed to meet them, to tell them she was ok. Afterwards, she would decide what she was going to do with her life.

Surge panted over the pile of robot parts.

"Are you good?" Sonic's voice asked cautiously. She could hear Tails sputtering up behind them. Kit was probably with him.

Surge growled, "Fucking… Fine."

"Surge, what's bothering you?" Faker dared to fucking ask. Yet Surge found herself hesitating, for the first time in her life. She was actually worried about what he would say. That she was a liar? That she was hopeless? That despite everything that they had been through, Surge wanted to know the who she fucking was and was frustrated by the fact that the answers weren't right in front of her?

Surge just waved him off, "I said I'm fucking good." She turned around and got ready to run.

"C-Can we take a break?" Kit's voice called out from Tails' back. Surge looked over her shoulder. Did he just ask for a fucking break?

Sonic spoke up for the both of them, "What? I mean we're kind of… ok, yeah you need a break."

"What? Why are you giving us a fucking break? We're on a time schedule!" Surge shouted, throwing her hands up in the air.

"Look at him, he's gonna get sick. I don't think the jumps were good for him." Sonic explained, pointing at Kit. Surge didn't see anything wrong with the fennec outside of… wobbling and droopy tail.

Surge growled, "He's just being droopy."

"Trust me, I've been around a sick fox before. He just needs a moment to let his stomach settle, ok? Please?" Sonic pleaded at her.

Surge frowned, before a strange feeling in her gut made her nod her head, "Alright… just a minute. Then let's hit this bitch hard."

Sonic laughed, "Alright, thank you."

They stood against a tree, while Tails made a few course corrections. Apparently, they were heading too far East, and needed to go- she stopped fucking listening and just tapped her foot.

Kit stood up from his log, "I'm better."

Sonic nodded, and walked over to hold up his hand. Kit jumped up and high-fived it. Kit gave high-fives now?

Sonic then turned around, and pointed to the left of where they were heading, "This way?"

"Yep." Tails confirmed, so Surge got ready to run. She heard Kit jump on the Fox's back, then she bolted. Sonic ran along with her.

They found more clusters of badniks, just waiting to get re-arranged into fucking scrap metal. Surge tore through them, occasionally jumping up for Sonic to grab on and fling her upwards.

They kept going, until Tails called out, "Hold up! I think we need to head up!"

Surge skidded to a halt, "What the fuck are you talking about?"

The fox pointed above them. Surge looked up and saw what looked like a giant wooden disk above them. Right.

Surge turned back to the fox, "Any bright ideas?"

The Fox pointed behind her at the large tree. Surge slammed into it as hard as she could, and the door blew open. Surge walked inside, and saw the stair cases.

Sonic walked up next to her, "Well, you ready to chalk another one off."

Surge grinned, "Please, I was fucking born ready to end this stupid shit." She could take this one, then the next one… and then it would be over. She really had no reason to stay…. Outside of Sonic being her friend.

She didn't have time to think about that stuff. She had a family waiting for her. That was a good enough reason.

Surge bolted up the stair well.

*I added this because two questions from two different people were very similar. Shadow will appear in this story. That being said, My friend who proposed the partner swap wanted me to add a dedicated scene between the two regarding the ending. My friend was thinking of Sonic06 Shadow. Unfortunately, we're dealing with modern Shadow. I don't know If I want to increase his page-time or not. I'm still deciding.

The poll is in… with… 4 people. Ok, thanks to everyone who filled it out.

Alright, typical review fashion. Leave a review and it will be answered tomorrow. Private message me if you have a question that you want private or more immediate in response.
