In Which Alfred's Plan Is Exactly What You'd Expect From A Highschool Boy

Alfred's plan was simple. In fact, it was entirely too simple, but that's to be expected from a high-school boy. His plan was to stuff a bag with a few items of clothes, his video game system, a jar of peanut butter, a Gatorade, and a box of cereal, and leave for several weeks without a word, only a note on the table explaining he'd run away (because Alfred wasn't stupid enough to think Arthur wouldn't call the police if Alfred went missing) all meant to scare Arthur into being better to him when he came back. Naturally, have no thought to packing actual necessities, or how to stay hidden, or to the fact that Arthur was 100% more likely to kill him (with love, because he was worried) before it ever occurred to him to be nice.

As for school, Alfred's plan was pretty much what you'd expect from a teenage boy. That is to say, "Screw school". Alfred simply planned on pretending it didn't exist for a week or two and that was a far as his plan extended. Naturally, it was easy to Alfred had made several mistakes with his plan. The biggest and most obvious one, though, was the place he decided to run away too. As a boy who'd grown up in a small town and didn't know much else, his options were limited. If there was a good hidden place he knew if, it wasn't hidden enough (Because Alfred still had yet to master the glorious art of learning to keep his mouth shut), and in a small town the chances of being discovered by accident or on purpose was rather high.

That left few options, and even less good ones. The old shed behind the old water tower that no one went near, Gilbert's tree fort they (and Gilbert's younger brother) had built together, his cousin Kyle's place, or Gilbert's house. The shed was old and musty, and full of spiders and webs (Alfred wasn't scared of spiders, but he'd rather be anywhere else than near one) and Alfred knew at least Ludwig knew about the tree fort, and if Ludwig knew, then his close friend Feliciano likely knew, and if Feliciano knew, everyone knew. Of Course, Alfred's logic was much simpler. No WiFi meant no gaming which meant no way in hell was he staying there.

That left his cousin, or Gilbert's. His cousin lived out of town, quite a bit away, and Alfred had no way to get there. Besides, his cousin Kyle thought Arthur was the coolest so he'd probably tell if Arthur went there. Contrastingly, Gilbert's house was nice, had air conditioning and WiFi, and pretty much everything he could ever need to survive, he knew Gilbert wouldn't tell on him, and Gilbert had an awesome bachelor pad he'd put together himself in the basement. Alfred wasn't bad at craft work like that, but next to Gilbert he may as well have bee. An amateur painter again Leonardo Davinci.

Basically, Gilbert's place was the perfect option - as long as you chose to ignore the fact that it was also the most obvious option for Alfred to make, and everyone knew it. Alfred, who was still under the impression that he was being clever, took the long way through the wood to Gilbert's house, so he wouldn't be seen on way there. Unfortunately the woods was full of things like trees, which ripped at his clothes, and misquito s those nasty little sucker that exploded in bright red spots when Alfred swatted them with curses.

Never one to read into a situation or care about consequences, Alfred was happy to use the torn bits of cloth the wipe away the accumulated blood from the Nasty bugs, dropping them in a bush, unconcerned about any future chaos he might cause.
