~Maybe There's Some Heaven in Hell Part 4~
[Angel Dust's POV]
I woke up the next morning stretching my four arms cause they were all stiff, I looked to my side and I noticed that Fat Nuggets wasn't there; usually, the little guy would get lonely in the middle of the night and climb into bed with me. "Fat Nuggets? Where are ya, buddy?", I called out.
I got up to check under the bed but he wasn't there, I looked all around the room but I couldn't find him. I walked out of my room so I could check the hallway and lobby for him when I noticed that the door to Noah's room was open; I peeked in and saw something that made my heart melt: Fat Nuggets was curled up on the bed next to Noah's belly, they were both asleep.
I had to hold in my giggles but I couldn't help it because they both looked so damn adorable! I quietly walked into the and approached the bed, I bent down and picked up Fat Nuggets, cradling him in my second pair of arms. I was about to leave but then I looked at Noah, who was clutching the pink blanket I gave to him last night close to his face and body.
Just for fun, I tried pulling the blanket out if his hands. He let out a soft grunt of annoyance before pulling it closer to himself and rolling over. "Mine...", he mumbled. I couldn't resist, I climbed onto the bed next to him and then I started stroking his ribs with my fingers. He started twitching as I could tell he was trying not to laugh, I kept doing it until he finally burst out laughing.
Noah sat up and looked at me in surprise, "Angel? What are you doing in here?", he asked. I laughed, "Fat Nuggets wasn't in my room when I woke up, so I went looking for him and I found him in your room, sleeping in your bed", I said. Noah blushed as he leaned over to pet Fat Nuggets on his head, "I guess the little guy wanted to keep me company during the night", he said.
I let Noah pick him up as he kept gushing over him, I just sat there watching him; I just couldn't get over how cute and innocent Noah was, it made me question just how someone could be so untainted by the harsh realities of life. That was when I realized that even though he told me about himself, there were still a lot of details left out.
"Hey Noah"
"Yeah?"
"You told me about yourself, but you didn't really go into any specific details. Do you think...you could tell me?"
Noah fell silent for a moment but then he started talking again, "I had always been a shy kid but when I was diagnosed with Anxiety Disorder at age nine, it became more apparent. I tried to make friends at school but I couldn't talk to anyone for more than five minutes without stammering, tripping over my words or in some cases, flying into a panic attack.
"My classmates thought I was creepy because of the way I acted and some of them even began picking on me. There was one boy in particular named David who was especially mean to me, he used to call me a "stupid mime" because he thought that the reason I never spoke was because I was stupid and just didn't know how to talk.
"I never said anything about it because I was too scared of him bullying me even more for tattling on him. So I just kept to myself and didn't speak to anyone, it was easier to be alone than trying to make friends with people who didn't understand that I had a mental illness.
"My parents became very concerned for me when I started going to college because they were scared I would be all alone for the rest of my life. That I'd never have any friends or find a wife/husband and have a family, I didn't really care for that since I had given up trying to have a social life and became an introvert.
"I knew they were just worried because they loved me, my Mom and Dad were the only people who were patient and considerate enough about my mental illness. They were so concerned about me because they just wanted me to have a happy life..."
Noah trailed off as he started crying, trying to wipe his eyes but not doing that good of a job.
"What's wrong?", I asked.
"I miss my parents! They loved me so much...I could only imagine how destroyed they must've felt when they found out I had died! I never even got the chance to say goodbye to them, I know one day they'll die too and come join me in Heaven, but until then...", Noah once again trailed off as he softly sobbed.
I felt sorry for him, my Dad never really cared about me but Noah had two parents who loved him so much and were scared that his mental illness would keep him from living a happy life. I then decided that I was going to cheer him up, "Hey Noah, I'm going out today. You wanna come with me?", I said. He looked at me in shock, "Go out? But...but Angel, Charlie and Vaggie said I have to stay hidden because there may be demons who would want to get their hands on an angel like and do God knows what to me!", he exclaimed.
I hadn't changed my mind, "Well I don't think it's fair that you have to stay cooped up here in the hotel all day long. You deserve some time outside, a chance to see what Hell is like without it being part of your Exterminator job. Also, can't you just disguise yourself?", I said.
Noah sat there thinking for a moment, "That's right! I can disguise myself, I had just never done so because I didn't have a reason to. Give me your hand", he said. I let him take my hand in his, our hands glowed as they touched; I could feel my face heating up and I looked to see that Noah's cheeks were also red, I couldn't explain it but my heart was pounding.
Noah let go of my hand and then stood up, his body was then engulfed in a bright light; when it faded, his fur had turned red with black fluff, his eyes were red and yellow, he had a pair of horns on his head and his wings looked like bat wings.
"How...how do I look, Angel?"
"Wow...you were a lot cuter as an angel but you make for one ugly demon! No offense".
He laughed which made me smile, I was glad that I didn't hurt his feelings. "Now what do we? How am I going to leave without Charlie and Vaggie noticing?", he asked. I pointed at the window, "Fly out the window and wait for me outside the front door of the hotel. I'll meet you out there in like ten minutes", I said.
Noah nodded as he flew out the window, I got up and went back to my room to drop off Fat Nuggets so I could get ready.
[Time Skip: Ten minutes later, Third Person POV]
Angel Dust walked outside of the hotel, where he spotted Noah standing by a lamppost waiting for him. "So...where are we going? What are we gonna do?", asked Noah. Angel simply smirked, "Oh nowhere in particular really, I figured we just wing it", he said.
Soon, the two of them were walking through the streets of downtown Pentagram City; Noah looked at all the demons walking or running from place to place, when taking the sinful element out of the equation, this place almost looked like an ordinary city to him.
That's when Angel stopped for a second, "I just remembered that we forgot to have breakfast before we left. Why don't you wait here while I go grab us something?", he said. Noah nodded as he had just realized how hungry he was and decided to wait for Angel to come back with something to eat.
As Angel Dust went somewhere to buy some breakfast, Noah looked around at the city with an intrigued face. He wandered away from where Angel had left him to look around at the hustle and bustle. A black ball with a red pentagram on it bounced against his leg, Noah knelt over and picked it up, that's when he saw a group of demon children approaching him.
"Yo, can you throw us our ball, mista?", a small boy with a Brooklyn accent asked. "Sure," Noah said as he dropped it and sent it back with a kick, sending the ball flying over their heads. The children laughed and chased after the ball, Noah chuckled as he hadn't expected demon children to be so cute and playful.
He looked around, and frowned when he realized he'd completley lost sight of Angel Dust. "Oh dear..." he said, a lost look on his face.
He then felt a thin, hard hand tug on his sweatpants. Noah turned, seeing a rat-like man with clean clothes but oily hair staring at him.
"Um...hello?", Noah asked nervously.
"Lost are you, young man?", the rat demon asked in a voice just as oily as his hair.
"Actualy, I-", Noah started, but was interrupted by the demon gripping his wrist in a suprisingly tight grip. "A young, pretty thing like you could get in trouble...why don't you come with me?"
"I-I...U-um...", Noah stuttered.
"Sorry to keep you waiting Noah. Here, I brought you a Pretzel."
Noah relaxed, beaming as he felt Angel's warm hand clasp his shoulder. Angel glanced over at the rat demon, "Thanks for keeping my freind company, but we'll be going now. We have business to attend to", he said.
Angel then none too gently freed Noah's hand from that of the now frowning demon's and steered him away, keeping a tight grasp on his shoulder." Why'd you go and wander off? You'd have watch out for people like him, Noah", he scolded in an annoyed tone.
"Why?" the disguised angel asked.
Angel heaved a sigh, "Because I've seen his type before. He's a member of the slave market."
"The what?", Noah asked, taken aback.
"You've heard of human trafficking, right? Well, Hell has people who do that too. People like that rat who sell young men and women like you to people wealthy enough to buy them. From the way he was looking at you, he'd have probably sold you as a sex slave and, unlike the living world, there's no cops to call if that happens."
"What?!"
Angel was tempted to snicker at Noah's appalled reaction were it not for the anger that had welled up inside him when he saw another demon touching his angel.
Wait...my angel? Where the f*ck did that come from?, he thought.
"Relax Noah, as long as you're with me, no one will even dare think of touching you", said Angel.
Noah felt reassured but continued glancing at the faces of the people passing as he nervously ate his Pretzel, trying to gauge whether or not they were likely to attack him. An hour soon passed as the two young men were simply walking the city together, with Noah simply gazing at how expansive it was.
"Noah, I'm bored. Let's go steal something", Angel said nonchalantly.
Noah looked at him wide eyed as if he was crazy, "Angel, it's the middle of the day! Isn't that dangerous?", he asked.
"Uh...yes! This is Hell, everything is dangerous. And I know just what I want to steal, too: some nice jewelry for you. Plus, it'll be fun!", Angel responded.
"But Angel, stealing is a sin! Its against the eight commandment: Thou shalt not steal-"
"Honey, I live in Hell. My name is Angel Dust but that's because I named myself after a drug, I ain't a saint nor have done anything good. And besides, I wanna show you how much of a badass I am", Angel said cutting Noah off.
Noah opened his mouth to protest, but was silenced when Angel suddenly gave his butt a light pinch, "Or would you rather me entertain myself by touching every inch of that cute body of yours? Those thighs are just too tempting...", Angel said seductively.
Noah blushed, he was secretly intrigued by the idea, but shook his head. "Oh, alright... Let's go steal something...but I'll only watch! I'm not participating in theft, even if it is allowed down here", he said steadfastly.
"Fair enough, I supposed. It'll be better if you watch me in action anyways" Angel grinned.
[Time Skip]
Noah followed Angel across the roof of a low building. "Angel, are you sure this is safe?", he asked nervously. "Of course I'm sure. I used to do this all this time for fun", Angel responded casually. He signaled for Noah to stop, peering over the edge.
"Ah, perfect! I'll be right back, stay here and don't make a sound", he whispered.
Noah watched, slightly impressed, as Angel stalked across the thin ledge with the ease of a cat. Angel turned to wink at Noah before grabbing the ledge and swinging himself down to land behind a jewelry merchant's stall. Making sure the vendor was preoccupied with a customer, Angel glanced around the stall and immediately found his prize.
A thick strip of gold, moulded to the neck, small golden chains intersecting with each other, all connected to a deep blue piece of carved lapis lazuli.
"Come to Daddy!"
Noah glanced over the edge of the roof to see Angel disappear around the edge of a stall. He was gone for a few minutes before he jumped and grabbed onto the ledge before heaving himself up and over.
"Piece of cake..." he said, brushing himself off.
A shout of rang out from below as the shop keep found his most priceless piece missing. Spotting the shadow, he glanced upwards, spotting Angel Dust. He then took out a machine gun and pointed it at the culprit, his face contorted in rage.
"THIEF! Hand over that gold necklace, you son of a bitch! Or I'm gonna blow your brains out all over the floor!"
Angel grinned as Noah's eyes widened in panick.
"Oops. Looks like I spoke too soon."
Angel siezed Noah's wrist and dragged him across the rooftop. As they reached the edge, Angel glanced over, instantly cursing upon sight of the jewelry shopkeeper, along with two other demons who were probably his friends or coworkers, running through the streets below looking for them, each holding a gun.
He turned back to Noah, "Looks like we'll have to jump", he shouted.
Noah gaped, "WHAT?"
Angel dragged him back a few steps, preparing a run-up. "Angel wai-Aaahhhh!"
Noah's shout dissolved into a scream as Angel dragged them both into the air towards the next rooftop. They landed, knocking the breath from Noah's body but they were already tearing across the roofs of the other buildings. Angel pulled the disguised angel off his hooves and flung him over his shoulder like a bag of loot, continuing his escape. The added weight was nothing to him as he lept over more roofs, coming to a dark alley.
Angel Dust leapt down, landing smoothly on his feet. He spotted a hole in the wall and pulled Noah off. "Go through that hole, quickly!", he shouted. The poor dazed angel obeyed without question as he heard the small gang of demons' footsteps catching up; Angel followed behind him.
As he watched the demons run past them without seeing them, Angel whistled in a high, bird-like tone.
"Didn't I tell you this was fun?", he asked as he playfully elbowed Noah in the ribs.
"Ask me when my heart stops trying to jump out of my ribcage...", Noah said breathing heavily.
[Time Skip]
Once Angel was absolutely sure that the demons were gone, he and Noah climbed out of their hiding spot. "I haven't had a thrill like that in years!", Angel said triumphantly, "Nothing like a good chase to get the adrenaline pumping, eh Noah?"
Noah gave him a "you're f*cking insane" look but said nothing.
"Oh, by the way. Here's the jewelry I promised you", Angel said as he pulled the necklace from his pocket and held it up for Noah to see. He turned the angel around and secured it to his neck, taking a step back to admire his work.
"Ahh. Just as I thought. It really does suit you", he said. Noah, touched the necklace, vaguely wondering if all of Angel's exploits were that...exciting. Angel stretched, "Let's go eat now, I'm hungry. All that running made me work up an appetite, I know this place that makes some pretty tasty steak", he said.
Noah's mind was still replaying their close escape, completely ignoring what Angel had said. The bang of the demons' guns shooting the narrow wall rang in his ears and their shrinking silhouettes as he and Angel ran away swam in his aftervision. His heart pounded in his ears so loudly that he barely felt Angel grab at him.
Angel frowned and waved his hand in front of his face. "Noah, did you hear me?", he asked. Angel grew impatient with Noah's lack of response. An idea hit him and he grinned maliciously; lowering his face to Noah's, he caught a glimpse of the angel's pupils dilating. Widening his grin, he moved his lips close to Noah's, allowing his breath to ghost over the his pale lips, mingling with the shaky breaths from the his own mouth.
Noah's eyes suddenly widened and a gasp escaped his throat as he snapped out of his thoughts, he lifted his head in an attempt to close the gap between Angel's lips and his own.
Angel winked as he pulled away from Noah's lips, the angel following him a little. "Now that I have your attention...what was so damn interesting that you blanked out on me?"
Noah bit his bottom lip, "I was thinking about...the robbery...it was terrifying. I thought for sure..." he trailed off.
"Is that all?", Angel asked, tussling the angel's head fluff, "I'm usually way more careful, but I just wanted to show off my escape skills."
"What if we'd been shot or killed!?", Noah asked, placing his hands on his hips. "But I wasn't, now was I? Come on, let's waste any more time on that. Let's go eat, like I was saying, I know this really awesome steak house. And besides, I'd never let anyone hurt you, Noah. You're too precious to me", he said. Angel took Noah's hand and began leading out of the alleyway, Noah may have been pouting but on the inside, his heart was melting at Angel's words.
[Time Skip]
Later on, the two were sitting in a booth at a local steakhouse. They were looking at the menu, trying to decide what to eat. Soon the waitress, a snake demon, came over to their table to take their orders. "What can I get for you boyssss", she hissed.
"I'll have your 8oz. "Drunken" Sirloin, toots", said Angel.
"I'll just have a regular sirloin steak, please", Noah politely.
The waitress wrote down their orders, "Alright and what would you like to drink?", she asked.
"We'll both have a glass of red wine", said Angel. Before Noah could protest and change his drink order, the waitress already wrote it down and slithered away. "Angel, I am not getting drunk! I was killed by a drunk driver, I refused to drink alcohol even if I am of legal age!", Noah said defiantly.
Angel slid over next to Noah, gently pulling him close to his body. "Noah, you can't get drunk from just one glass of wine first off. And second, I would never ask you to get drunk with me. I understand that you have mixed feelings about that since it was part of the reason you died", he said.
Noah sighed as he leaned against Angel's body, "I'm sorry for being so harsh about that, it's just a bit triggering for me. Plus, that's interesting coming from you. Didn't you die of a drug overdose? I'm pretty sure you still take drugs since you strike me as the kind of person who still does harmful things despite the harm it causes you", he said.
Angel let out a small laugh, "You're right about that but since I've started staying at the hotel, I haven't a hit of anything. Before that, I'd take actual "Angel Dust" like nothing else. Now...I don't and if you want me to keep doing that, then I will", he said. Noah was shocked by this, he hadn't expected Angel to be this sincere with him; in fact, he was beginning to wonder whether or not this little outing of theirs was actually a date.
"Angel, is this a-"
"Here's ya food boysss!"
Noah was cut off when the waitress came back with their food, placing them down on the table. "Finally, I'm starving! Thanks a lot, toots!", Angel said as he paid the waitress for their meals. Noah sighed as he just quietly ate his food, deciding he'd talk to Angel about how he was feeling later.
[Time Skip]
After they were done eating, Angel and Noah left the steakhouse and started making their way back to the hotel. Noah let out a yawn as he walked alongside Angel, "Feeling tired, cutie?", Angel asked. Noah laughed, "Yeah. When we get back, I wanna just fall into bed and take a nap", he said.
Just then, the two were pulled into an alleyway and pushed up against a wall. They looked to see three humanoid demons wearing leather jackets, holding knives; the tallest of the three walked towards them, "Well well well! If it ain't Angel Dust, haven't seen you around Porn Studios lately. Where have you been hiding, doll face?", he said.
Angel glared angrily at the three demons while Noah trembled with fear, that was when he caught the attention of one of the smaller demons; he slowly moved closer to Noah, making him flinch. "Hello there, sexy! What's a tasty little thing like you doing with a whore like him?", he said while licking his lips.
Noah kept trembling in fear but then Angel's two left arms flew in front of him in a protective manner. "You stay the f*ck away from him! He's mine!", Angel shouted. This made the three demons angry, the two smaller ones grabbed Angel and held him down while the taller one moved towards Noah; he pinned Noah to the wall with one hand while using the other to grope his chest fur.
"No! Stop, please! Stop touching me!", Noah shouted as tears filled his eyes. The tall demon laughed, "Aww don't be so scared, cutie! I can make you feel real good!", he said as he began to snake his hand down towards Noah's pants.
This was Angel's breaking point, he leapt up and wrapped his legs around one of the smaller demons, snapping his neck. Then he took the second one, bending his right arm behind his back as he grabbed his pocket knife; Angel slit his throat before rushing at the last demon.
He punched him in the face and tried to stab him, but the demon grabbed his hand and threw him to the side. Then he tried to pin Angel to the ground, but he didn't account for Angel's extra spider arms that grabbed him and threw him off; while he was dazed, Angel picked up the knife and stabbed him in the throat.
Angel breathed heavily before going to check on Noah, who had been sitting on the ground watching the whole thing, his face stained with tears. "Noah! Are you okay? I'm sorry you had to see all of that, especially since you do this every year but-"
He was cut off when Noah jumped up and hugged him, "Oh Angel, thank you so much! I thought that monster was going to molest or even rape me! He probably would've if you were here, thank you!", he shouted as he cried. Angel smiled as he hugged him back, then he pulled away and used his second right hand to wipe his tears away.
"Hey, I wasn't going let a bunch of scumbags taint such a sweet little cotton ball like you. You're too pure for this world", Angel said. Just then, Noah suddenly stood up on tiptoes and pressed his lips to Angel's; they were doing this for a few seconds before Noah realized what he was doing and pulled away, "Oh my God! Angel, I'm sorry! I don't know what came over me, I just-"
He was cut when Angel gently grabbed him by the chin and pulled his face close to his, kissing him again. This time, the kiss was longer and more passionate; Noah purred, his hands slowly moving up to grasp Angel's face to deepen the kiss. He felt a warm tongue lightly licking at his bottom lip and obliged, opening his mouth. A muffled moan came from the angel's mouth as he and Angel kissed.
They broke the kiss after two minutes, both of them panting while their faces flushed a bright pink color. As Noah stood there trying to catch his breath, Angel looked down at him with a smirk. "What took you so long to rise to the occasion, Cutie Pie?", he asked.
Noah giggled as he leaned in for another kiss, Angel slightly bending down to close the gap between the two.
