With Danzo
Root agent 35 was not panicking. They had defeated such emotions years ago, and had long operated out of an inherent dedication to completing their missions rather than any desire to succeed or be rewarded.
No, they weren't panicking.
(The child in the corner wailed.)
They would find the bottle of baby formula eventually – it had to be here somewhere. There was no physically possible way for the two-year old child to lose the bottle in the well-guarded and fully-sealed bunk room.
(Nara Shikayoru took note of the mad scrambling of this caretaker and decided that they would do for now. He released the formula bottle from his shadow and continued wailing. The Root agent nearly slumped in relief when they found the bottle before remembering to be cold and distant.)
Danzo was losing his mind. The children were going to be the death of him. Child 06 had resisted caretakers for months, but was now apparently an angel child to a few select agents of his. Child 05 and 09 nearly fell to their deaths during an impromptu wrestling session (with a rather surprising amount of killing intent). Children 02, 03, 07, and 08 did nothing but brood (Even with his skewed standards, Danzo knew children weren't supposed to brood like that - especially not two-year olds). The only one acting semi-normally was child 01 (the Uzumaki – Danzo had his priorities straight).
He needed to choose six to send to the orphanage so that they could infiltrate the official ranks, and he needed to start making training plans for the rest. Now if only the red-eyed child would stop glaring at him. (He shut down the voice in the back of his head that told him he was forgetting something important. He had long gotten good at ignoring the pesky voices in his head.)
