Chapter Nine: Do You Know My Name?
"The bikes!" Martha yelled as her and Veronica got outside, pointing to her family's bike rack.
"Good idea!" Veronica responded.
"Not so fast," The Shredder said, before running up to them, knife in hand.
Veronica grabbed his (technically her's) face and slammed it into the metal bike rack, knocking him out.
"How-"
"Apparently, his body provides a lot of strength and confidence," Veronica said to Martha. "Now, let's get out of here."
Betty had just gotten her hands on La Dola when her phone rang. It was from Martha.
"What?" Betty answered, somewhat concerned.
"Betty! We've got a problem!" Martha said, panting. "He escaped!"
"WHAT?!" Betty replied, more concerned now.
Just then, Betty heard Charlie enter the room, causing her to end her call with Martha.
"I couldn't find him. Are you sure he followed you?"
"Yes!" Betty replied dramatically, before turning around. "He took us and-"
"Betty," Charlie said sternly, "What is going on?"
It was then that Betty realized that Charlie saw La Dola in her grasp. Suddenly, Martha started to call Betty's phone again. When she went to answer, Charlie pulled out his gun.
"Don't you dare answer that!"
"I can explain," Betty said, trying to defuse the situation.
"Betty, this is serious. Put your hands up!"
"Please, just let me explain!"
"Hands up! Now!"
Betty did as she was told. "Now," Charlie said, "I want you to slowly set the weapon down."
Betty slowly put La Dola on the ground. "Good, now kick it over to me," Charlie instructed, to which Betty complied.
Suddenly, Veronica entered the room.
At least, that's what Charlie thought.
"Veronica, where have you been?! I've been calling you all day!"
The Shredder needed to think fast. "The Shredder! He's been following me all day!" He said, with fake fear.
It was then that JD came into the room. "And this sicko is with him too!" "Veronica" said.
"What?!" JD replied.
"That is not your daughter!" Betty said to Charlie.
"Shut up, Betty!" Charlie retorted.
"Woah, what's going on here?" JD asked, approaching Charlie.
Charlie turned JD around. "Sir, you're under arr-"
Suddenly, Martha and "The Sherwood Shredder" came into the room.
"JD!" "The Shredder" shouted.
Charlie then pulled out his gun and shot at "him." Everybody (minus Charlie) dove onto the floor, hiding behind some desks.
"Run Ronnie!" Charlie said.
And "Ronnie" did just that, grabbing La Dola along the way.
"I said you should've been faster on that bike," the real Veronica whispered to Martha.
"I'm fat not athletic!" Martha whisper-yelled.
Charlie found where "The Shredder" was hiding. "Hands up, now!"
Veronica did as she was told.
"Start walking towards the cell!" Charlie stated.
"Can you listen to me?"
"Now!" Charlie said.
Veronica started walking towards the cell. Charlie got out his keys and unlocked the door.
"Get in!"
"Can you please listen to me?!"
"Move!" Charlie said, as he shoved "The Shredder" into the cell.
Suddenly, Martha let out a "Ka-Ka," causing Charlie to turn his head. Veronica used this opportunity to grab the keys with one hand and shove Charlie into the cell with the other.
"No!" Charlie said, after barely missing his opportunity to leave.
"Dad, I'm so sorry!" Veronica said.
"Get me out, you giant buffoon!"
"I really thought the hamster could swim and it was me who flushed Goldy down the toilet, not Vince," Veronica said. "But this is all gonna make sense to you later on."
Charlie was beyond confused now.
"I got to run. I'm so sorry! I love you! Mwah!" Veronica blew him a kiss before running outside with her friends, ready to catch a killer.
A/N: Two fun facts for ya:
Fun Fact #1: I didn't realize until two chapters ago that Charlie is the same name of a character featured in the epilogue of "The Beast Inside Of Me." (Another Heathers story I did, which I totally recommend you read it if you haven't done so already :).
Fun Fact #2: I forgot that "Vince" (ala Vince Vaughn) and "Vincent" are practically the same name.
*insert multiple facepalms*
