What first woke her was the jazz music down on the street below. The trumpets and festive parade pranced down main street and she knew that Klaus was behind it. A celebration for their engagement.
So it wasn't a dream, she thought with a smile. And with pressure coming on the bed next to her, she grinned, and slowly rolled over. Blue striking eyes that always bore into her soul and adored every atom of her stared back and she took the back of his neck in one hand, dragging a surprised Klaus toward her happy lips.
"Good morning," he greeted in a low voice, smiling.
"Good morning, fiance." She giggled a reply and kissed him again. Then she sat up and was taken aback by the room. Every corner filled with dozens of bouquets, silver and blue balloons and streamers dangling from the ceiling. When she turned back to Klaus, he had his thumb dug into the cork of an unopened champagne bottle. Watching her, he flicked his finger and the cork hit the ceiling across the room with her surprised scream. She laughed, and Klaus took a swig before handing the bottle to her, and turned to get the two glasses on his side of the bed.
Caroline only took a sip from the bottle, giving him back the bottle so he could fill their glasses.
"What are you plans for today, my love?" Klaus asked, taking a long drink with his eyes still on her. She smiled.
"Just getting used to the idea that we're getting married." She replied. He chuckled and she joined in.
"We're getting married!" He laughed
"We're getting married!" She squirmed around, kicking her legs and shaking her hair. He pinned her down with one arm and kissed her deeply. When she kissed him back and pulled on the hairs at the nape of his neck his breath hitched.
"How about some newly-engaged sex?" He asked, his eyes inches from hers. She smiled again and merely nodded, taking his mouth onto hers and caressing his face.
