"So, we know that Lafayette stole somewhere between 1200 and 1400 pills of each of those medications. That's a lot. What we don't know is why. As an experienced psychiatrist, he should have known that they were about to go off the market and why, so there was little use in stealing them, matter of fact there were other, better medications readily available as well and he chose not to steal them."

Beckett made a note on the board about the pills, then faced her team again.

"Is it all that impossible that he may have stolen them to sell them on the black market, maybe make some more money for his center?", Ryan hypothesized, the very words making him cringe when he received a disapproving sideways glance from his partner.

"It's plausible. He could have maybe even sold them to a different doctor altogether, especially since he reiterated his dislike for giving out drugs."

"Ninja Assassins…", Castle whispered from the sidelines, holding up two cups of coffee, one of which he handed over to Beckett.

"Well, let's hold off on that theory a little bit longer.", she replied to the writer, along with a grateful smile, "Ryan, you said that Harrison's wife mentioned that he hated carrying cash on him. I wonder why he had the two-hundred bucks on him that night."

A long silence settled between the group as they stared at the murder board that still seemed so disturbingly barren.

"He could have known that he was a target.", Esposito finally said and shrugged, "Two hundred bucks buys a good piece out on the streets. Nothing fancy obviously, but still enough to put a hole into somebody. This way he'd stay under the radar and protect whatever side gig he had going on. Problem is the killer caught up to him before he could buy it."

Beckett was about to reply when her phone rang, bringing on that eerie feeling that had befallen her since her conversation with Castle about their killer.

"This is Beckett.", she answered, immediately noticing the wailing of sirens in the background, as a polite voice belonging to a Patrol Officer named Holloway gave her the grisly details.

"Alright, thank you, we'll be right over.", she said and hung up the phone, before facing her team again, "Let's head out guys, we have another murder."
