A large ship flew through the vacuum of space, the letters BSL plastered on the side. "Sir, we're picking up on something coming out of hyperspace!"

"Well, it's a good thing we know who it is." The pilot said as Samus's ship came out of hyperspace, flying right next to the BSL ship.

"I'm here." Samus said. "And I brought some friends with me too… hope you don't mind."

"Not at all, Samus! SR-388 is a dangerous planet, and we've heard tales about how you risked your life against some dangerous creatures and how Ridley popped in unannounced the moment you were about to leave."

"I'm well aware."

"Tell me… how did Ridley survive? And on top of that, the Metroid Prime herself?"

"I wish I knew…"

"Well, enough about that. You ready to dive back into SR-388? We could use your expertise."

"Let's do it."

Both ships flew to SR-388, flying through the atmosphere before they both gently landed on the ground. A research team walked out of the BSL ship and they waited for the others to pop out.

The hatch opened up, and Samus walked out and was joined by Pikachu, Blake, Rosalina and ROB.

BGM: Surface of SR-388 (Metroid: Samus Returns)

"Heh! I expected the little guy coming with you." One of the researchers said.

"…Say, that girl with the cat ears." Another spoke up. "She into cats or something?"

Blake blushed. "Well, it's more of like… a part of me."

"Half cat, half human… this galaxy is truly full of surprises." He said.

"Enough about that. You're here to research SR-388's ecosystem, right?" Samus spoke up.

"Correct. We're curious about the changes of the planet's ecosystem after the Metroids were wiped out. Well, most of them." One of them said, causing Samus to flashback encountering the baby Metroid.

"Right." Samus nodded. "Follow me. I know this place better than anyone."

"Lead the way!"

With a nod, Samus walked up front, her cannon locked and loaded while Pikachu jumped onto Samus' shoulder. Rosalina had her wand out, ROB's lasers were ready to go and Blake had Gambol Shroud at the ready. The research team had their weapons out too.

Inside one of the caverns, the team would study several creatures, curiously watching their behavior as the planet was free of Metroids. Samus and the others were on their guard.

Once they were done, they went to investigate another cavern… and then they heard intense growling. Samus looked into her radar and saw a creature approaching them, snarling at them. "A Hornoad!" One of the researchers said.

End BGM

"Something about this is… different." Samus said, her instincts kicking in high as she aimed her arm cannon at it, and then Pikachu's ears twitched.

"Pika?" Pikachu turned his head. "Pika!"

Samus turned her head, seeing more Hornoads surrounding them. "It's an ambush!" Rosalina said.

"Light 'em up!" Samus ordered. "Pikachu, you know what to do!"

"Chu!"

BGM: Gamma Metroid (Metroid: Samus Returns)

A few Hornoads lunged at Blake and Rosalina, but Blake would shoot them with some Fire Dust to make them back up as Rosalina's hand crackled with electricity as she fired electric bolts at them before conjuring a small black hole in her hands and threw it at the Hornoads, trapping the three of them as she threw down a meteor at them for good measure.

One Hornoad lunged at ROB, but he jumped up and used his thrusters to eject flames underneath him to roast the Hornoad, before firing a laser to destroy it. Another Hornoad bit down on Pikachu, but he jumped back. "Pika…CHUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu cried, unleashing Thunderbolt on it to make it step back as Pikachu then jumped back and unleashed Electro Ball on it to quickly destroy it.

The other Hornoad lunged at Samus, but she Melee Countered it and then fired a Super Missile at it, but it had suddenly dodged and tackled Samus to the ground, pinning her there and roaring in her face as drool came out of its mouth and slobbered on Samus' armor. It attempted to bite down but Samus would curl up into a ball and left a bomb in its place where the Hornoad bit down on the bomb, where it exploded inside of it to stun it, and then Samus froze in place with an Ice Beam before delivering a solid kick to shatter it.

End BGM

"Good riddance." Samus said, but then noticed a small jelly-like substance forming as did the others who had destroyed the other Hornoads. "What the…?" She wondered as the Researchers would grab a hold of them in some jars.

"Got ya!" One of them said. "Alright, I think we've seen enough. Let's go see these in the lab." He said as they all nodded.

Back in space, in the BSL ship

"Hmm… let's take a look here…" A scientist said, studying the strange blob-like creature.

"Well, if you don't need us for anything else… we'll be leaving." Samus said.

"Right right, thanks for the help Samus."

With a nod, Samus turned to her friends. "Let's head back to Remnant."

"That was easy." Blake said.

Samus chuckled. "Normally my missions aren't that easy, but this one surprisingly was. Talk about a breath of fresh air." She said, ruffling Blake's hair as they walked back to their ship, where the ship roared to life and started to lift off the ground.

"The X-Parasite…?" The scientist wondered as he continued to look into it. "Oh, I see, exterminating the Metroids brought along these little buggers. Interesting! The Metroids fed on these and caused them to evolve into those more powerful Metroids…"

As he continued researching, he started to pale at what the X-Parasite can do. "It can go into a creature and… mutate it?!" He said. "…Wait a moment…" He turned to his fellow researchers. "Please tell me none of you touched this thing… because they can go into anything that is organic, whether it be flesh or metal."

"No, but I do recall one of those creatures drooling on Samus…" One of them said before they started paling. "Oh no…"

One of the researchers swiftly grabbed the communicator, dialing for Samus. "Come on, come on… pick up! PICK UP!"

With Samus

"Oh? Incoming transmission?" Samus wondered, pressing the button. "What's up?"

"Samus! Listen to me, you're in grave danger!"

"…Do you have any idea how little that narrows it down?"

"Yes, yes… but listen to me! This jelly-like creature is known as the X-Parasite and it can mutate any living organism! You know that creature that was on top of you? It drooled on you… you're in grave peril!"

"Nonsense. What's a little drool gonna-" Samus stopped talking, holding on to her head. "Nnngh!"

"Samus? What's wrong?" Rosalina asked with concern.

"Samus… you okay?" Blake asked.

"Pika Pika?"

"I… I don't know… it feels like… something is… uuungh…" Samus groaned, suddenly slumping over as the ship started to take a turn right for the Asteroid Belt.

"SAMUS!" Blake yelled.

With quick thinking, ROB rushed over to the controls of the ship, taking control as he attempted to pilot the ship away from the Asteroid Belt… but he was a bit clumsy with the controls as he would head straight for a moon nearby.

Rosalina quickly clapped her hands as force fields surrounded the group as the ship crash landed onto the moon, severely damaging the gunship, but everyone else was alright.

"Can anyone hear me? Are you okay in there?"

"We're fine…" Blake said, groaning a little. "But Samus… she's not responding."

"We were afraid of that. We're coming to get you. The only thing we can think of is take her to the Galactic Federation's HQ and get that thing out of her system."

"Roger that." Blake responded as PIkachu desperately tried to shake Samus awake, even using a Thunderbolt to try and wake her up, but no response.

"Pika…" Pikachu quietly said, nuzzling to try to get her to wake up.

Later, at the Galactic Federation HQ

"It's completely in her system…" One of the surgeons said. "If we try to remove her armor, it'll just end up killing her."

"So what's the only option?" Blake asked, holding Pikachu in her arms.

"We'll just have to surgically remove most of her armor. The problem is… how do we even save the Galactic Bounty Huntress herself…"

"…I do know one individual." Someone spoke up. "He conducted various tests with it, so… why not just inject her with the Metroid DNA that we sampled off of the baby Metroid she found?"

"Are you sure that's a good idea? The tests came up as neg-"

"It's the only option we have!"

"…It's risky, but it's the only shot we have." The surgeon turned to the others. "You'll have to wait outside." He said as they nodded and then walked out, Blake rubbing Pikachu's head to comfort him.

"Well, this trip turned south, didn't it?" Blake sighed.

"I wouldn't go that far. Space is very treacherous… you'll have to be on your guard no matter what." Rosalina explained. "That said, not even I would have seen these X-Parasites coming."

"Excuse me." A voice said as they saw a federation officer approaching them. "You wouldn't happen to be with Samus, would you?"

"That's us." Blake nodded. "We were with her on that planet."

"Hmm… I see. Judging by your outfit, I don't think it's suitable for something like this." He said. "Come along, miss…"

"Blake."

"Miss Blake, come with me. We've got something special for you." He said and walked off. Rosalina would look at Pikachu and ROB, all of them giving curious looks as they walked after them, walking into a room.

"Tell me, do you happen to know of the Zero Suit?"

"Of course… are you actually giving me one?"

"Indeed! Those cat ears of yours suggested that you're quick on your feet and very silent while on the move. I did suggest armor but that would be too heavy for you." He explained. "Soooo, what colors do you want on your Zero Suit? I'm an expert on designing these."

"Well… I wouldn't mind a black and white one."

"That'll work!"

"So, are you also going to make me a Power Suit too?"

"Aheheh… well, no… the Galactic Federation doesn't want to replicate the Power Suit that Samus has. Somethig about losing its uniqueness or something. That said, there's nothing said about not giving you a helmet!"

"That works."

"Let's see… mind if I see your weapon for a sec?" He asked as Blake nodded, handing him Gambol Shroud.

"Interesting… it's a sword and a ribbon.." He pressed a button, seeing it go into a gun mode. "And also a gun! Fascinating…" He said as he aimed at a wall and pulled the trigger. "…Really, just a standard pistol? We can work with this! Do you have any other weapons?"

"Just a whip and some claws."

"Fine with me. Now then, let's get to work!"

One Zero Suit and Gambol Shroud upgrade later

Blake walked out of the changing room, where she would be donning a skin tight black and white Zero Suit as her emblem was on her back. There was a small shoulder pad on her right shoulder and when Blake touched it, a white helmet formed on her with a black visor, also having black kitty ears on top, while also having smaller shoulder pads unlike Samus and also had armored gloves. She also had jet boots on her.

Gambol Shroud, meanwhile, looked exactly the same, but it looked a bit more high technical as Blake picked it up and aimed at a wall, firing a laser that came out of it and then pressed a button as her ribbon started to light up as she flicked it around, as short bursts of electricity came out.

"You like it? I gave your weapon a more… technological approach. It can fire lasers and acts like Samus' good ol' Paralyzer."

"Of course." Blake said, deactivating her helmet but decided to keep the gloves and jet boots on. "The Zero Suit's a bit… tight though."

"Ah, you'll get used to it." He said and turned to Rosalina. "How about you?"

Rosalina smiled. "No thank you. I already have my own Zero Suit." She said, raising her wand up high as her dress changed into a black Zero Suit while having a few stars plastered on it, and a few galaxies.

"Oh wow!" Blake said.

Rosalina giggled. "I asked Ibuki if she could design me a Zero Suit when she and her friends came to live in Toad Town. I had one that I used a lot in my space explorations, but it was getting worn out… so I hit up Ibuki and she happily made a new one for me."

"Not sure who this Ibuki is, but hey, good for her!"

Blake smiled. "She's one of a kind."

"Indeed." Rosalina nodded as they walked out where they would see Samus walking out and donning a new suit.

"Ta-dah!" A surgeon smiled. "The Metroid DNA was a success! Although it do a number on her Power Suit but… I'm sure it's nothing. Say hello… to the Fusion Suit."

"How do you feel?" Blake asked.

"I feel… lighter. Weaker, even. I don't like it." Samus said, taking off her helmet and sighing. "How could I have been so careless…"

"Don't feel too bad… it happens to the best of us." Rosalina said. "Besides, you didn't even know."

"I guess." Samus nodded. "Well, it is what it is… no need to be mopey." She said.

"Samus!" A Federation Officer approached her. "You're still here, good… listen, we need you at the BSL Station."

"What for? We dropped off the creatures over there." Samus said.

"I know, but there's been an explosion in the station, and nobody is responding. We need you to go investigate. We have a new ship waiting for you."

"A new ship? What about my old one?"

"Despite the robot's best efforts to gain control after you had passed out, you had crashed onto a moon. Your ship is irreparably damaged… and there's nothing we can do about it."

"…Very well." Samus nodded as they walked off to her new ship, seeing that it was purple in color as they walked in.

"Greetings, Samus."

The voice made everyone jump in surprise. Even Samus was a bit startled. "Who said that?" Samus asked.

"I did. I will be taking you to the Biologic Space Lab's station."

"Oh… an AI. How wonderful." Samus said, as everyone took their seats as the ship roared to life and flew off. As they flew, something inside Samus made her feel… afraid. Something about an explosion at the station seemed to unnerve her… and she didn't know why.

She closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. "Prepare for take off." She said as they flew off to the BSL Station.

Biologic Space Lab Video Log #1:

"Hello there, I am a scientist here at the BSL station, and we are conducting various experiments here at the station. I decided to make a video log that details our experiments and our findings, and perhaps my own various experiments and/or my own thoughts.

Who am I? Well, I work for the Galactic Federationbut I will tell you my name at a later date."

"*sees i'm at 98 stories* Oh boy, Galaxy 2 is gonna be my 100th story! *excitedly posts the Sora's Adventure in Rogueport remake, now at 99* ...Okay, the secret story is gonna be the 100th story. *E3 happens and gets in a massive Metroid mood after Metroid Dread is confirmed, gets ideas for a RWBY/Metroid story* Okay! I guess RWBY Fusion is gonna be my 100th story... and my first ever Metroid story. Who would've thought?"

But anyway, you mean to tell me that Samus just stands there like an idiot when the X-Parasite goes inside of her and she does nothing about it? Uuuuugh, the beginning of Fusion irks me... however, luckily, Log approached me and gave me a more BETTER opening where the creature would pin her down and drool on her instead of like, say... Samus standing around like an idiot. So thank you for giving me that idea because hoo boy, that was WAY better than that.

Also, you may have noticed that the rating of this story is Rated M. Considering Fusion is a very creepy dark game and knowing how I tend to make things dark moments even darker, I decided to bump it up... just to be safe because i'm not sure how dark i'm gonna take it, ya know?
