It was a nice, and warm morning. The heat of the sun was blazing across the wet streets of London, and clearing the wetness of the mighty storm that had occurred the previous day.
Dylan and the rest of his family were still asleep, tired and exhausted from the experience they had with the storm, as they all slept in late. Dylan however, slept very well.
He had a dream last night, but he had already forgotten it before he had even woken. He was comfortable and oddly warm in his blankets.
He felt like he was cuddling with something soft and warm. He could feel him snuggling up to a body with his arms.
Dylan slowly opened his eyes slowly. His exhaustion made his vision blurry at first, but soon it became clear what he was looking at…. And who he was snuggling with.
He held Dolly closely in his arms, and her head was snuggled into the fur of his chest. When Dylan realized what he must have been doing in his sleep and how close he was with the one he liked, his fur began to prick up nervously.
He felt paralized on what to do. So he hesitated to do anything.
It was then Dolly suddenly snuggled even deeper into his chest, with a content sigh, stroking his chest with her muzzle.
That was when Dylan freaked out from complete shyness. He let go of her gently and his arms tighten outward.
While Dylan struggled to get out of Dolly's grip without waking her up, four small paws quietly crept up.
"Ah ha…!" A harsh whisper shot out.
Dylan turned hard and he saw Dawkin standing behind him with a very sly and knowing smile. Dawkin had a raised brow, however, his brow showed disapproval.
"Daw-Dawkin!" Dylan panicked as he slowly lifted up Dolly's body and he somehow managed to slide his lower body from under her.
W-What are you doing sneaking up on me like that….!?" He whispered harshly back.
Dawkin crossed his arms as he sat, and he tilted so he could see Dolly, who was still fast asleep. Dylan thanked the skies above that Dolly was a heavy sleeper. Dylan laid her slowly down and covered her body back up.
"And….what are you doing, cuddling up to your own sister like you own her?!" Dawkin shot back.
Dylan turned to him, with a panicked face expression that held a firm blush. He stood and turned to him, as he snuck closer to Dawkin so he didn't have to whisper as harshly.
"I-I was…. She was….. She…" Dylan sat down and he shook the panic off his face. He closed his eyes and told himself he didn't need to be ashamed. "... She was cold…. And she didn't have a blanket….."
Dylan turned back to Dawkin and opened up his eyes.
"Nothing wrong with that…." Dylan reassured.
Dawkin shook his head, and then pointed a paw at Dylan.
"And I told you; you need time to sort out your feelings!" Dawkin reminded. He pointed at Dolly. "And you cuddling up to Dolly is NOT gonna help you…!"
Dylan shook his head again and leaned a bit closer, feeling the need to be serious.
"And I didn't want either one of us to get sick….. We were both wet…. In the cold of the night…" Dylan tried to explain, using it as an excuse.
Dawkin crossed his arms one more time, and eyed him even harder with his serious toned expression. However, Dylan kept his own, and Dawkin soon felt reason flood his core. Dawkin lost his expression for care. He took a breath.
"...Still….." Dawkin frowned once more. "I'm going to keep my eye on you from now on. I'm going to be….your shadow…"
Dylan sighed hard, and narrowed his eyes.
"Seriously….?" Dylan asked, unamused by Dawkin's smothering.
Dawkin didn't reply. All Dawkin did was point at his eyes, and then jabbed it towards Dylan. A way to say he would be watching Dylan. Soon Dawkin turned away, and ran off, running down the stairs.
Dylan watched Dawkin run off. As soon as he was gone, Dylan's face softened.
He slowly turned towards his sister who was still laying there cuddling in her blanket. He stared upon her. He could see her beauty and she was adorable while she was sleeping. Dylan could feel his feelings resurface once again. His longing, his admiration and his guilt….
… And the feeling of love he felt towards Dolly.
Dylan took in a deep breath slowly. He slowly stepped closer towards Dolly. He hesitated for a moment, and then he slowly touched Dolly's shoulder.
"Hey… Hey…. Dolly…. It's morning… " Dylan called softly. "You wanna get up…?"
Dolly slowly opened her eyes with a few blinks.
"M-Morning…?" Dolly asked as she was still fast asleep. However, as if something had been awoken inside her, her eyes widened. "MORNING?!"
Without warning, Dolly stood fast, and shoved Dylan out of the way, rushing towards the window.
Dylan hit the ground hard. He almost did a flip as he felt his hind legs almost kiss his nose. Recovering slowly, he lifted himself up with his elbows.
"D-Dolly?"
Dolly flung open the curtain of the window and a fresh amount of sunlight hit her face. She closed her eyes and shook her head, flopping her ears in the freshness of the morning.
Dolly took a deep breath of relief and she opened the window.
Birds were chirping and she felt happy.
Dolly turned to Dylan, as the shine was shining upon her fur, making her seem bright against her white fur.
"Isn't it such a beautiful morning…. !" Dolly almost squeaked of pure joy.
This made Dylan pause. He felt lost in the beautiful dalmatian in front of him. He felt a small blush appear on him. He felt his heart began to skip beats as it raced. He felt himself forget to breath. The way she smiled. The way she held herself up. Her eyes were gleaming…
She was ….
"B-Beautiful…."
Doug and Delilah were both standing at the bottom of the stairs, staring at what was left of the main floor of the house. Their expressions were of both surprise and distress.
They just stood there, frozen and overwhelmed. As the two scanned the room using their eyes.
"Whelp… This is going to take a while….." Doug stated, knowingly. "... Maybe all day to make it even…. Liveable…"
Delilah took a step of disgust towards what remained of the living room. The couch was rotten instantly due to being soaked, the carpet was ripped from debris, and the walls were dripping paint.
"This is a madhouse."
A puppy suddenly went sliding down the stair railing..
"This place is wrecked!" Deepak, however, ran out of railing, and slipped off the railing.
Soon another puppy ran across the room and it clumsily tripped over a small bottle. He whelped as he rolled across floor.
"And…. I suppose we can't keep having the pups in here….." Doug proposed slowly.
This was when Dolly and Dylan came down the stairs, curious of what was going on.
"What's….going on?" Dolly asked.
Doug looked over at his daughter slowly.
"It's uh… just the damage, sweetie. We're discussing how we're going to fix it." Doug told Dolly. He smiled softly.
"We're actually thinking you guys should take the puppies out of the house for a while… If that's not too much for you and Dylan." Dililah instructed.
Dylan yawned quietly. He then looked to the left.
"Are you sure you don't want help fixing up the place…." Dylan asked, even though he didn't want to do the work. The night had made Dyan tired.
Dolly, however, was already looking in the closet and getting her skateboard.
"Sorry, not gonna stay this time, I almost died and all." Dolly giggled as she hopped on her skateboard and rode off, putting on her helmet.
"Do NOT wanna stay indoors!" Dolly yelped. "Bow-Wacka- WOW~!"
Dolly hit the floor with her wheels, and instantly rolled out the door.
Da Vinci and Dawkin walked into the room as Dylan was in a state of slight confusion.
Da Vinchi was carrying a bunch of painting supplies and a good sized canvas.
Da vinchi twirled around gleefully.
"Wait for me sister! I wish to go out in the warmth too!"
Dylan smiled softly. He knew that the day would be warm and he could use the rest. He followed Dolly's path to the door.
"Alright! I guess it would be fun to go outside. Maybe…. To the 'park'" Dylan emphasized in his march to the door.
Doug turned swiftly to his son.
"Did you just use a trigger word!?" Doug questioned, feeling panicked.
Dylan laughed.
"Sure did! C'mon guys!" Dylan barked confidently as he saw that his siblings were rushing towards him when he used the trigger word.
Dawkin frowned hard, as he adjusted his collar.
"Great that means me too…." Dawkin muttered. He looked at Da Vinci. "Who else would look after Dylan while he's out there with Dolly."
Dawkin left Da Vinci in a state of worry. She felt the same as Dawkin did for Dylan, except it was Dolly she was worried about.
What would Dolly do with Dylan near her?
They both knew they were feeling different towards one another.
Dolly rushed fast with her skateboard, skating down Dalmatian street, and into the area they called the park.
Here, there was a square, with some vendors around. There was also a nearby forest. Humans and dogs alike, with some wild animals around, all walked these streets.
Puppies followed her as well. They just entered the park as they knew Dylan and Dolly would watch them.
Dolly hit a rail with a kick flip and soon landed.
She hummed and enjoyed the air as her long ears flopped in the wind
However, her eyes opened up when she saw an image of Dylan appear in her mind..
She nearly missed her paw, and she kicked a little harder than normal, and she had to skid to a stop.
Dolly panted a little in panic for a moment, but she soon closed her eyes and tried to keep calm.
Da Vinci walked over to a nearby tree and started to set up her paint canvas and her tools. She grabbed a brush and she waved over to Dolly, happily greeting her presence.
Dolly, however, felt a pit in her gut. Da Vinci was the only one who knew she liked Dylan. Dolly rolled over to her, feeling almost embarrassed. She stopped easily, and then sat.
"Uh….Hey Da Vinci…..What's up…?" Dolly asked, trying to play it cool, but almost failing.
Da Vinci smiled happily. She wagged her tail slowly.
"I'm so glad it's warm again! What's up with you, Dolly?" Da Vinci asked, almost too kindly. She closed her eyes with a happy grin.
Dolly looked out towards the cloud, and it almost reminded her how she almost died yesterday from the flood.
"...Trying to keep my mind off things…." Dolly answered honestly. Dolly however couldn't shake the need to think about Dylan. He just seemed different to her somehow….
…and it scared her.
Da Vinci smiled happily and she took a moment to dip her brush into her paint.
"Well, I'd say today is the day to do it!" And with that Da Vinci went to paint near Dolly.
Dylan was nearby Dolly's location. He was behind a tree, and he was trying to avoid the eyes of his much smaller siblings.
His heart was pounding. He just couldn't take it anymore. He had a desire to be needed. He couldn't get Dolly out of his head!
He tried to shake it off. However, the image of Dolly couldn't get out of his mind. All he could see was Dolly, in that perfect light. That morning ray. The light. The warmth.
…..That angel.
"Ah-HEM!" A sudden sharp cough appeared from behind Dylan.
Dylan's eyes flickered open, as he slowly trailed away from his thoughts. He looked slowly behind himself.
Behind him was what seemed to be a bush at first.
However two branches were waved, and it suddenly became instantly clear it was just Dawkin holding two large green branches. Dawkin used these to make a sneaky bush.
"And what might you be doing here?" Dawkin asked in a mocking, knowing tone.
Dylan took a moment to comprehend how Dawkin could disguise himself as a sneaky bush made out of two branches, then he turned his attention back to his small but very wise brother.
"What are 'YOU' doing here?" Dylan turned back around a bit, to make sure Dolly wasn't going to skate off again. He was wanting to find an excuse to spend a bit of more time with her. "Shouldn't you be tinkering with something?"
Dawkin just rolled his shoulders in confidence.
"So you can go flirt with your SISTER?!" Dawkin pointed a paw at Dylan.
Dylan just stared at Dawkin for a moment. He pondered his options for a moment. Something Dawkin saw clearly in his expression.
"... Dude, it's called thinking man…." Dylan sighed and closed his eyes. "I'm….. feeling a lot right now okay?"
Dawkin frowned and crossed his arms.
"And I DO think! I think you both got rejected at the same time, felt lots of guilt, and you two comforted each other! Both of you felt relief, and you crave that relief, meaning you want to flirt with Dolly who relates to you most, because you are afraid of finding and failing companionship!" Dawkin preached..
Dylan stared even harder at his young brother. He didn't like this. He was older and he was having his younger brother fight against his own feelings. He turned his head. He was glad to see that Dolly hadn't moved from him yet. She was still drawn into a conversation with Da vinci.
Dylan just remained quiet. He didn't say anything to the long structured statement that Dawkin had bothered him with.
Maybe if he stayed quiet he would go away….
So Dylan tried to remain silent, and just kept his gaze upon the dog he began to desire. Just the sight of her was very distracting to Dylan now. Each kickflip. Every paw that flips Dolly's long ears out of her eyes. Every moment.
Dylan was attracted to it all now….
Dawkin tilted to the side of Dylan. He frowned.
"I can't believe you're not even panicking about the puppies all being in the park…" Dawkin soon walked to the side, with a knowing smirk on his face as he marched away with this logical statement. "That's why I know you are drawn over there…."
Dylan kept his gaze distracted, still trying to ignore this conversation.
"So say if I am….?" Dylan asked his brother, uncaringly.
Dawkin turned hard to this question, almost offended that he would say that. He turned and brought his arms towards him in exaggeration.
"But Dylan dude! She is your sister! Sis-TER!" Dawkin protested, waving his arms.
Dylan leans head down slowly.
"Yeah….. I know" He responded quietly.
Dawkin soon became sad, feeling remorse for his elderly brother. Dawkin took two steps forward.
"...The answer is just to be out there for her, helping her be happy." Dawkin answered with his heart.
Dylan smiled softly…
He then felt himself be quiet. He understood that he would be happy with just the mere fact he could help Dolly remain happy.
But…..
What about his heart….? Who would make Dylan happy… if not Dolly….?
Who would understand him…?
Dylan looked back towards Dolly. He stared at her.
He knew what he wanted….
…. He just wanted to spend even more time with her. He just failed to understand why he felt this way.
His heart longed for her, as he kept his gaze upon her.
After a long moment of Dylan's silent gaze. Dawkin shook his head and looked away.
"Oh brother….."
Da Vinchi was painting for a while. She was also watching her sister Dolly do kick flips off a concrete garden.
Da Vinchi watched Dolly do a couple of kick flips as she gazed back towards her painting. She was painting the shape of a heart. Half of it was pink and half of it was purple, and with each side of the heart a shooting star was flying from behind the heart.
… Both of the shooting stars were heading towards the center of the heart.
She looked back towards Dolly.
Pondering.
Dolly was pondering as she landed her latest flip, and soon glided across the gravel. She soon felt her feelings hurt her again.
She soon kicked up the skateboard in sudden emotion, and the back end of the bounced off the ground, in which Dolly caught it.
She felt this stupid feeling for quite some time, ever since Hansel rejected her. She felt the coolest guy she even admired didn't think of her as great.
It was then Dylan…. He showed her compassion, saying she was the coolest. When he said that, Dolly saw that Dylan actually knew a thing or two, always taking care of things. She wished for someone like that now.
Dolly felt her heart thump again, and she realized she was being drawn to Dylan.
Dolly suddenly hears a hum. She turned hard, and she almost smiled in realization.
It was just Da Vinci humming, painting at her canvas.
Dolly blinked.
She didn't know her feelings. She took a deep breath, and soon walked over to Da Vinci.
"Hey Da Vinci…." Dolly soon sat by her, feeling almost too shy to talk. "...Can we talk?"
Da Vanci was painting away, and as she did she smiled softly at Dolly without losing pace. She seemed happy.
"Why certainly!" Da Vanci responds with a very welcoming smile.'
Dolly rubbed her arm, feeling embarrassed all of a sudden, feeling really awkward.
"I…..um…..kinda want to….." Dolly bit her tongue and barely could speak. Dolly opened her eyes slowly and took a breath. Dolly turned. "Can we talk….maybe in a place where just not anyone can hear us…?"
Da Vanci smiled as she took off her canvas. She held her picture in her hands and she walked over to Dolly.
"Sure!"
Dolly blinked, slightly wondering why that was so easy. She scratched her ear, and then stood.
"Uh sure, follow me!" Dolly commanded as she walked off. She felt her butterflies fly as she walked.
They walked for a while and they crossed a path that led to the part of the park that was near by a couple of buildings. They walked on the path that was near the forest, close to the park. There was a row of trees and a small bush that was near the edge of the pavement.
They were far from anyone from here.
Da vinci smiled at her sister.
"Okay! What's on your mind?" Da Vinci sweetly asked.
Dolly felt her heart sink. She felt guilty. She felt stupid. Why did her feelings hurt?!
She couldn't believe that she felt this way, but in a weird way…..
….She did.
Dolly scooted closer to her as she took a seat on the gravel and then touched Da Vinci's back.
"Da Vinci… I still can't get him off my mind." Dolly answered
Da Vinci smiled softly, trying not to lose her smile. She titled it gently.
"You mean…. Dylan?" Da Vinci asked. Dolly felt odd how she could just say his name so commonly. Just the mere name of Dylan began to affect her.
Dolly let go of her sister and looked away.
"And don't you feel any shame for this?" Dolly asked openly.
Da Vinci's smile faded a little. She almosted wanted to be quiet, but she spoke her mind without meaning to.
"I… thought I did…"
Dolly blinked, almost in a state of confusion. She turned to her.
"Thought….?" She repeated, curious of what she meant.
Da Vinci smiled as she tilted her head into a spin as she spun around. She wagged her tail furiously as she examined her canvas once again. She then looked over with her small head.
"Do you believe in fate…?" Da Vinci asked seemingly happily. Dolly tilted her head at the concept.
"...Well…..everyone has a fate…. It's what determines what we do…. What we become is fate isn't it…?" Dolly asked, uncertain.
Da Vinci smiled as she turned to her while she kept her gaze on the canvas.
"Maybe!" Da Vinci took a few steps closer to Dolly. She then felt her head tilt a bit as she pondered upon her own words. "However….. I wonder… if your heart…. Can you guide your fate?"
She then turned over her canvas, and she displayed it a bit closer to her.
"And it makes me wonder what Dylan has been feeling…."
Dolly saw the Pink and Purple heart. One half was pink and one half was purple.
…. And two mysterious shooting stars flying to the center of it.
"What if Dylan's heart is saying the same thing….?"
Dolly felt her heart thump. She wondered if he did. She almost felt the thrills of it. However she frowned quickly when doubt began to set in. She looked down.
"Dylan is better than me…." Dolly admitted. "You know as far as….good stuff goes. He's a goody two paws, thinking of what's best for the now…."
Dolly looked down more depressed now.
"Dylan finding out a sister is in love with his brother would make him find disgust in me….." Dolly proposed with a hurt expression.
Da Vinci frowned. She stared hard at her. She didn't seem upset, but she looked almost mad, but she actually wasn't.
"But keeping secrets isn't safe! Mom and Dad said it's bad!" Da Vinci lectured. '
Dolly shook her head and looked at Da Vinci in a mild panic.
"But mom and dad would judge me too! They would be the worst if they knew!" Dolly turned around flustered. "I am just dreaming! Dreaming of stupid wants and guilt!"
Da Vinci lowered her canvas slowly. She looked down, seeming sad. She then adjusted an ear from her eye, as she felt her looking towards the other pups, as she thought about Dolly's feelings…. trying to understand.
"Is that what your heart says?" Da Vinci asked firmly.
Dolly opened her eyes, seeming blank.
"...Mostly my fears…" Dolly answered, fixated.
Da Vinci was about to speak up, but then…
…..She heard a metal trash can get kicked and Da Vinci saw it immediately roll across the streets.
She could hear laughter from a few older voices.
She tilted her body a bit to the side to see past Dolly. She could see three adult looking dogs march around the sidewalk. They were walking in a small pack, bouncing off each other's shoulders.
Dolly looked over towards them, and instantly had a distaste.
One was a buff and really rough border collie. He seemed ugly rather than anything to do with handsome. He was bouncing shoulder to shoulder with a tall female saluki. with dirty fur.
She had dark blue fur. She was rather loud.
Then in the middle was a big strong rottweiler. He was wearing a human made dog sweater that was black. He seemed to be the actual lead of the bunch, and he walked with a straight back, trying to look as buff as he could.
… And it wasn't all for show. It seemed this rottweiler had been working hard to gain his strength.
…. This could be trouble.
Dolly turned to Da Vinci with a quick glance.
"Get behind me…and don't be seen…." Dolly warned, standing in front of her.
This made Da Vinci panic and whine.
"B-But… Why?" Da Vinci asked, not aware of the danger. Dolly slowly touched her with her back leg, and forced her behind her.
Soon, the rag tag group arrived, and saw Dolly all by herself. The Rottweiler gestured, his shoulder towards Dolly, and the gang quickly followed his fast pace.
The rottweiler moved quickly with a grin. He smiled confidently as he approached her.
"Well, Well, Well, Hey…. Good lookin…." The rottweiler flirted as soon as he was near her.
The others around him laughed in a cheer. The female smirked at his comment.
"Do you really have to try to get with every girl you meet….Bones….?" The female asked, as he turned to Bones.
Bones, the big and intimidating rottweiler, chuckled as he glanced at her, then he kept his eyes locked on Dolly.
"But Mrs. Swindle…. Just,... look at her…." Bones seemed to lean in closer, which only tightened up Dolly's defenses as she kept shielding Da Vinci's presence.
Swindle slowly came up with a warm, and lovely smile. Dolly realized that just because she was dirty, didn't mean she wasn't cute. She soon stepped closer, and eyed her up and down.
"Yeah….you're right…" Swindle turned around and walked behind the males. "She's cuter than me…."
The border collie walked up from behind the group.
"Aw c'mon Bones! You promised me you won't hog all the girls!" The border collie walked near Bones.
Bones smiled as he seemed to get near Dolly's face now, as he chuckled ever so lightly. Then he turned to his ugly friend.
"That was before I saw how cute this girl was…. Eheheheh…. And besides….. " Bones soon moved his head very close to Dolly's lips, she could smell his junk yard breath.
"... This girl is most likely into strong dogs…. Like me?"
She felt his head get close to Dolly's muzzle as he spoke deeply.
"... Right?"
Dolly grunted, making a revolting noise.
This stunned the crew enough to let Dolly swiftly kick Da Vinci with her back paw.
Da Vinci gasped loudly, and she went rolling into the bushes. Dolly quickly flicked her ears once, and then tilted her head, trying to look as cool and pretty as she could.
"...Sorry….but I stopped being into strong guys….a while ago." Dolly answered honestly…
…While giving Bones the best, coldest stare she could.
Dolly closes her eyes and she slowly brushes by Bones, keeping her head low.
She started to walk away from the park and she led herself towards the forest. Bones and his gang slowly locked their attention to Dolly. Bones rolled his shoulder and he confidently stalked Dolly's movements.
His border collie friend started to get excited as well.
Swindle closed her eyes with a small smirk.
"... Don't hog all the fun this time Bones ..." The border collie barked goofiedly
Bones turned his head, not slowing her pace towards Dolly.
"Shut it Celeb!" Bones hollered over his shoulder towards his eager companion.
Da Vinci was in the bushes watching Dolly walk into the forest, with those street dogs following eagerly behind her. Fear grew in her little heart. She was watching her sister walk off this trouble. She hated this. She needed to get help.
Dylan….
She needed to get Dylan! He's responsible and he would know what to do!
She turned and dashed off frightened. She hurried to the direction of her brother. She raced across the park.
Dylan and Dawkin were near a slide. Dylan was lying on his back, looking at the sky, gathering his thoughts as Dawkin was spinning wood chips in his paws.
Racing across the grass, she nearly leaped to where Dylan and Dawkin were.
Dawkin jumped almost out of his fur, as he dropped the wood chips in his paw.
"Da Vinchi-i!" Dawkin barked, as he slowly gathered who it was. "Why in the world would you just jump out of nowhere like that?!"
Dylan lifted up his head quickly as he saw that his smaller sister was out of breath and he could tell she was very frightened.
"Its…. It's… It's D-Dolly! She's in the forest…. I think…. I think…. I think mean street dogs are right behind her….. She's… She's…"
"Mean Street dogs….? In a forest….? With Dolly!?" Dylan repeated slowly as his mind started to race. His heart started to beat. His body was up before he could think about getting up. He was already taking off. "Where!? Show me!"
Da Vinchi turned and led him towards the forest.
Dolly was leading them further away from the forest.
…. At least they were away from the pups. Dolly was glad about this. However, she was afraid of Bones. She knew…. That Bones was very interested in her. She could tell by Bone's expression, as he smiled cunningly and confidently. He was strong and rough looking.
How was she going to get away?
Dolly felt fear in her heart as she kept her head low and her feet quick and steady.
Swindle suddenly started to pretend to trotted towards Dolly fast.
"Where are you going toots…?" Swindle mocked as she soon jumped in place, and stood her ground. "You know we won't leave you alone until you stay a while….."
Celeb the border collie started to circle Dolly and he began to slowly cut off her surrounding.
Dolly took notice that she was near a very large tree. She almost backed up into it already.
"Hey girl! I personally dig the three collars…. More to hold on to…. heheh…" Celeb pointed out greedily. However, Dolly's head turned forward when she heard the deep voice of Bone's chilling throat.
"Don't mind him…." Bones assured as he started to approach Dolly.
Dolly was backing up slowly.
"He knows not to touch my prizes….." Bones explained with his evil grin. "... But don't be so afraid….."
Dolly slowly started to shake, but she kept her frown.
"Afraid….?" She turned away. "Of you… ? as if!"
Bones smiled as he crept closer.
He stepped closer and closer. Dolly felt the need to step backwards, but she failed to realize that she had backed herself up to the large, dark tree.
Bones reached a paw and it grasped Dolly's shoulder, and then he rubbed his paw up her neck and it slipped his paw to her cheeks.
His paws were frighteningly big, it was almost like it was a lion's paw.
"Oh…. Girl…. You just might be the cutest thing I have ever seen…. Just…. look at you….. Only a fool would turn you down….." Bones praised Dolly's appearance. Dolly took note that the Bones had this dark eerie charm about him….. Almost as if he had done this too many times.
"Why don't you come home with me….? I would take good care of you…. And I'm very….. Very…"
Bones took a moment to get close to Dolly's ear. He tucked his muzzle under it.
"... Gentle…"
Dolly felt her spine cripple with fear, her body seemed to freeze. She didn't want to do that… She didn't want this!
She wanted to go back home, where it was safe.
She wanted her family…
She wanted…..
"DOLLY!"
Suddenly, Bones was knocked over the head by a mighty headbutt. Dolly's eyes widened when she saw Dylan's forehead smash against Bone's skull.
Bones was sent rolling away from them. Dolly felt her breath slowly return in a very shaky rhythm. She felt odd and confused. She wasn't expecting that at all.
She slowly looked at Dylan. Who had landed in front of her.
Dylan had his back turned from her. Staring down the three mutts that had cornered Dolly.
Dolly's heart started to skip. It skipped hard once before it soothed into a slightly fast rhythm.
Dylan looked back at her with a very serious expression.
Dolly had never seen this look come from Dylan.
To Dolly it was so serious….
….. So cool….
"Are you alright….? Dolly?" Dylan asked with a cool, collected, brave voice.
Dylan slowly nodded.
"A-... Are you?" Dolly asked him slowly. Dylan heard a chuckle.
Dylan looked back towards Bones, who was slowly getting up. Bones popped his neck once.
"Heh…. Who is this….. Your boyfriend?" Bones asked with an unphased expression. His back was dirty, but Dylan could see that Bones had a solid bruise on the side of his head. "... Heh, I guess you really ain't into strong guys. Huh! Look at this skinny poodle!"
Bones slowly circled, and his buddies rejoined Bone's side next to him.
There was a dead silence that followed. There was a quiet moment where all Dylan and Dolly could hear were the slight chuckles of the street dogs.
Dylan looked towards their feet, distracted by weighing his options. He then looked up at Bones.
"Why don't you scram…. Leave her alone…." Dylan requested with a lingering warning. Bones felt a small smile grow when the dalmatian told him this.
"... Ah… And you think we'll just leave before we have any fun….?" Bones said coldly. He wasn't planning on going anywhere. His smile widened.
"And a weakling like you won't stop us…." Celeb touted. Dylan made a small 'tsk' noise.
He hated being called weak. He hated not being strong. However, he was beginning to understand something.
His heart was stronger than theirs. He loved his family and he cared for them.
This was going to be his strength.
Dylan started to walk towards him.
"D-Dylan don't!" Dolly started to get up.
"Just stay behind me…." Dylan whispered under his breath.
Dylan then charged. Bones thought he was going to strike him first, but Dylan turned towards Celeb and threw his shoulder at him.
"Aaaaah!" Dylan cried as he quickly knocked Celeb easily over. He then rammed into Swindle with his other shoulder.
He then spun his paw and he charged for Bones. He rammed him with his shoulder hard, making their paws sweep through the grass.
However, their movements went to a halt, and Bones seemed to stop.
Dylan felt his force come to a stop.
"Not… BAD!" Dylan felt a paw smash him over the shoulder.
Dylan felt a bad pop in his shoulder.
…. and Dylan hit the ground hard.
"ERK!" He cried as he felt himself hit the ground.
Dolly saw Dylan take the tumble, and this frightened her. Her brother was still the same nerdy brother she always knew, and she knew that he wasn't going to be able to take on Bones…..
….Alone.
Dolly soon ran over hard, smashing her paws against the dirt, and she went soaring towards Bone.
"Get your paws OFF OF HIM!" She shouted right as she headbutted Bone's side, completely surprising him, knocking him away from Dylan.
Bones hit the grass with his side. He grunted as he seemed to catch himself slightly.
Dolly then felt herself get rammed in the side. Swindle shoved her to the ground.
"Know your place girl!" Swindle mocked as she slowly circled her.
Dolly hit the dirt hard, losing her breath, but she managed to roll towards Dylan. She coughed and spat, but she slowly got to her paws due to the adrenaline.
"D-Dylan…. Are you okay?!" Dolly asked in the midst of her cough.
Dylan got up as well, shaking his head. He grunted.
"No…. Not until you get the heck out of here! You need to get away from these punks!" Dylan commanded in his short breath.
Dolly shook her head in disbelief.
"And you leave to be their next play toy?!" Dolly shook her head again, and frowned angrily. "Not a chance in the world will I do that!"
"B-But Dolly-"
"She's right…. Neither one of you is running…." Bones told them deeply as he slowly approached them again. Swindle and Celeb circled around Dylan and Dolly, making it clear that running wouldn't be easy.
Dylan looked around slowly. He started to growl.
"I will give you one chance though…" Bones offered slowly. He grinned his sharp teeth. "Let the girl come with me…. And I won't tear you apart….."
Dolly felt her heart sink. She did not want to go with this mutt, who only wanted her for her looks. She felt disgust….yet…..
She slowly eyed Dylan scared. She knew that they were about to get jumped if she didn't go. Dylan shouldn't have to get hurt for her sake. She was a nobody to everyone else but him.
She looked down.
"I-"
"I'd rather DIE!" Dylan barked, stepping closer to the group.
Dolly shot her head up, her heart thumping even more with this feeling of longing again. Dylan looked so brave at the moment.
Dylan even took another step.
"I may not be strong! I may not be as fast! But there is nothing I won't DO for her!" Dylan started to tell them off. "If I have to fight! I'll fight! If I have to die! I'll die! … But I won't let Dolly go with the likes of you….."
For a long moment, there was a moment of silence, as the wind sliced through the air, brushing by every dog in that pathway.
Dolly felt her blush fill her cheeks as she stood, feeling much more confident because of her brother. She slowly stood….
….And touched Dylan's paw, holding it.
"You know what Dylan, you're right!" Dolly frowned hard and eyed Bones. "Let's show them how to kick some tail!"
Bones eyed them. He stared at Dylan's gaze most of all. He had not weaved and he had not shifted his expression. He was serious, as if he was willing to die in this fight.
Bones felt himself smile, and he began to even like this mutt. He stepped a few steps closer.
"... Strong words kid….. And Strong will….. I'll give you that….." Bones complimented. He cracked his neck. He then took in a deep breath.
Dylan tightened his stance.
However, right when Dylan thought he was going to attack.
….. He didn't.
Bones turned around.
"We're leaving….." Bones told his gang.
Celeb whined.
"AWWW! But I wanted a turn with the girl…." Celeb mumbled with an upset demeanor.
Bones walked up to him and slapped him over the head with his paw.
"I said WE'RE LEAVING!" Bones barked hard.
Swindle started to follow closely behind Bones. She eyed Dolly and Dylan who were still on their guard,
Before the two dalmatians could relax they saw Bones stop and turn his head.
"Oh…. and just to let you two know… We're not finished…." Bones warned. "I'm just no longer in the mood…"
Then he started to lead his gang away from Dylan and Dolly.
Dylan then grasped his shoulder, and he felt himself buckled, moaning slightly.
"Gek…. My Shoulder….." Dylan whined as soon as he saw that Bones and his gang were gone.
Dolly's eyes widen a bit. Dylan was in pain and he completely ignored it…. Just for her?
Dylan almost fell, but Dolly fell with him and caught him.
"H-Hey are you okay?" Dolly asked in the midst of a panic. Dolly felt guilty now, because he was hurt because of her.
Dylan smiled weakly and he looked at her.
"I'll be fine….. Nothing broken…." Dylan assured her warmly. Then he frowned and looked at his hurt shoulder. "I….. think…."
Dolly pawed the ground, feeling sad, mad, and very stupid.
"This is my fault! If I didn't go out on my own, doing my own thing, and just watched the puppies, I wouldn't have gotten us into that mess!" Dolly complained her heart out.
Dylan looked at her and he turned to her slowly. His smile was still weak, but it was firm.
"Hey…. Hey…. Who cares why it happened…. I honestly don't care how you got into that mess…." Dylan then leaned in a bit close with his confident smile. "I'm just glad I got you out of it…."
Dolly felt something turn, and her sadness had taken an all time high. She felt her emotions finally burst. She felt like everyone was piling up on her, and she could have avoided all of this.
Tears fell down her cheeks.
"...Oooh….Dylan…." Dolly turned away and looked down, trying to hide her tears from Dylan.
Dylan's frowned at her sadness. He could tell that she was about to cry. He couldn't really blame her. She was just harassed and attacked by a group of mean adult street dogs. He didn't like it either, but he knew he couldn't think about that now.
….. She needed him.
Dylan scooted closer using his front paws. He grunted with each scoot..
"Don't cry….. D-Dolly…" Dylan grunted in his limp. "Everything is fine now…."
Dolly shook her head.
"No it's not! I do nothing but be a bother!" Dolly held her eyes. "...How are you not annoyed at me right now?!"
Dylan wanted to tell her why…. But how could he….
How could he tell her that the reason why he wasn't bothered by being hurt was because….
He was in love with her….
"Because… I… uh….." Dylan started, trying to express his feelings. "Because…."
Dolly turned to Dylan. She felt something. It tugged at her….. Dylan looked like he was flustered as he was scratching the back of his head, feeling awkward. How could he be feeling awkward right now….
….Unless…..
"...Because….?" Dolly asked, too curious to want to continue her crying.
Did Dylan….feel….the same way?
"Because I… I….. Well the truth is….. I….. I… I actually have-"
"DYLAN! DOLLY! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Dawkins voice shouted, interrupting Dylan.
Dylan dropped his paw from the back of his head and he looked around.
"Dawkin!?" Dylan called. He lifted up his head and he yelled louder. "WE'RE OVER HERE! FOLLOW MY VOICE!"
It did not take long, but not just Dawkin, but all 96 puppies all suddenly came rushing over.
Dante, Dawkin, the Dava sisters, Da Vinci, Deepak, and the other many puppies all stood there, all talking amongst themselves, as Dawkin rushed over to Dylan.
"Dude, did you hit the ground?!" Dawkin gently pulled on Dylan's arm so he could get a look at it. "Da Vinci and I talked about what was going on…. So I grabbed our dalmatian nation."
Dylan winced to the pain of his arm. He took it back as soon as he let his brother look at it.
"W-Well, I did…. .technically hit the ground…. But I actually got into a fight…." Dylan told Dawkin honestly.
"A FIGHT?!" Many puppies repeated in complete surprise. Da Vinci held her chin.
"With that big ugly dog?!" Da Vinci gathered in question, as she tried to picture Dylan being brave towards a dog like that.
"No…. with all three of them…." Dylan told her, without a confident expression. He wasn't trying to brag about it. To Dylan, it wasn't that big of a deal, but a lot of the pups started to gasp and almost applaud Dylan.
A pup walked up to Dylan.
"Woah! Three adult dogs at once! You must be really brave!"
"Or Strong!"
"You're super cool!"
Dylan gave them all a weak smile.
"Uh…. I wasn't any of that…." Dylan told them modestly. "I was….. Just trying to protect Dolly."
Dolly however seemed to be calmer as she scooted closer to him. She looked at Dylan in a new way. She blinked with affection.
"I thought you were brave and…..super cool…" Dolly answered honestly. This made Dylan shake his head before he looked at Dolly in surprise.
"I….. I was….?" Dylan asked sheepishly.
Dolly nodded.
"Uh huh…."
However, only Dawkin and Da Vinci held any knowing sense. They felt something had shifted, and changed in that fight. Perhaps it was the way Dolly was looking at Dylan, or how Dylan looked shy.
Dawkin felt fear towards Dylan, as he thought he was going to try to hook up with his own sister.
Da Vinci felt hope, and excitement, feeling curious of how things were going to turn out.
Dylan soon got up, and he was wanting to get back to the park.
"C'mon guys…. Let's go back to the - GRAAA!" Dylan felt his front paw buckle to the pain in his shoulder.
Dolly felt her eyes sadden. He really did hurt himself for her. Dolly felt her heart thump, but she listened to it. She was quick, and she pushed against him, as they were now hip to hip.
Dolly was supporting his arm this way so he didn't have to use it if he didn't want to.
"I got ya…" She reassured. Dylan blushed. He wasn't expecting to be so close to her at this moment.
The two slowly started to lead the pups out of the forest.
"T-...Thanks….." Dylan thanked slowly as he could walk with three paws much easier this way.
Dolly closed her eyes. She was starting to feel better. She was returning the favor for Dylan.
Although, it just happened, it was common knowledge that Dolly would still be shaken up by this whole experience, and it would be hard to not think about it….
But all Dolly could think about…..
…. Was how Dylan stood up for her.
It wasn't just the fact that he fought for her. It was the fact that Dylan didn't even seem like himself when he did.
He seemed…. Focused…. Collected….
Dylan wasn't at all himself during that fight.
He didn't seem very scared, and he seemed to be very brave. He took them all on without even thinking about a way to avoid it.
She knew that he did it for her. He saved her….. Again.
Dylan was there for her again.
She knew now what he was to her…..
He wasn't just the dog she was in love with….
….. He was her hero…..
Dylan and Dolly did return to the park, but after a moment of time; they said it was best to go back home.
When they did, they had noticed that their parents had cleaned up most of the mess already, or.. At least they had made it seem okay. There was still much to be repaired.
After a couple of hours of greetings, and quiet living in the house, Dylan found himself pacing back and forth in the room he usually liked to sleep in. Dakwin was there too, and he was very nervous. He was watching Dylan pace endlessly around his room.
"... I…. I just have to say at least 'Something'!" Dylan argued with Dawkin and himself.
Dawkin had his back against the wall as he rolled his eyes.
"No, you technically don't….and not just that..." Dawkin's ears fold in annoyance. "...she's your sister."
Dylan was walking back and forth, hating himself. He didn't want to feel guilty, but his heart was playing tricks on him.
…. And Dolly was attacked and mistreated.
He hated that more! The more he thought about Bones, the more he didn't care about what was right and what was wrong.
All he wanted was what's right for Dolly.
Only he could make it happen… A better life then the alternative.
"And I see you're still making that expression,...tells me we're getting far." Dawkin said as he tilted to the side.
Da Vinci tilted her head hard. She gripped her biggest bruise tightly.
"Huh? You're going to tell him…. Wait? Now?" Da Vinci seemed to squeal in a nervous and frightened way.
Dolly blinked twice, scared and embarrassed.
"Well, not tell him, tell him…." Dolly slowly grabbed her long ear nervously as she turned in a shy manner. "But more like….ask him….on a date."
Da Vinci's legs started to shake as she gripped one of her ears tightly.
"B-But that's the same thing! …. I mean, are you sure this is a good time!? …. We just got back…. And the fight!" Da Vinci protested her true feelings. Dolly tilted her head.
She remembered how Dylan came and saved her, and then acted on his own to battle Bones and his goons.
Dylan never acted like that before until Bones… Until Dylan needed to be there.
It was the fact Dylan would never leave that made Dolly feel a thump in her heart. He was her hero.
"Look, you said it yourself I need to talk to him…..So why not try it, and maybe…." Dolly played the system as she rubbed her ear down in a slow manner. "...get rejected hard so the feelings stop?"
Da Vinci seemed to lower her head a bit.
"Oh… Well, I-I don't know…. Shouldn't you just wait and like…. Try to ignore it?" Dolly's small sister begged her.
Dolly waited for a moment, pondering the decision. Dolly could try to win Dylan's heart, or wait it out and feel her heart thump hard every time Dylan was around.
She wanted to either feel her heart thump harder or not at all. She wanted to be done with this.
"Nope, sorry Da Vinci. Doing it now." Dolly decided as she turned around suddenly, going towards the door.
Da Vinci dropped her brush and she tried to follow her.
"W-Wait hold on a second! I don't think it's a good idea!" Da Vinci cried as she tried to reach her. However Dolly opened the door, and turned down towards the hall.
Dylan was marching out his door too. Dakwin was right behind him.
"My mind is made up…." Dylan told Dakwin with determination. Dawkin however felt his fears heighten as he was quick to pull Dylan's tail. However, Dawkin being only a pup, this just dragged Dawkin along.
"And I still say no! You can't go telling Dolly how you feel! Think of what she would think?! She would say EW!" Dawkin protested in whines as he felt helplessly carried.
"Then I want to hear it from her!" Dylan shouted with a bit of pride in his voice.
Dylan was marching hard, and so was Dolly. They both were heading towards the same destination.
Da Vinci was chasing Dolly….
… And Dakwin trying to stop Dylan.
The two turned the same corner.
"We need to talk!"
Dylan and Dolly's voices echoed to each other's mirrored demands. However, right after, both Dolly and Dylan felt their hearts jump, and instant confusion hit them.
"Huh?"
"What?!"
Dawkin and Da Vinci soon spot one another, both seeming to want to stop the other. They blinked at each other.
Da Vinci slowly tilted her head in confusion.
And Dakwin tilted his head trying to piece this all together.
Dolly tilted her head curiously.
"Talk…?" Dolly tilted her head more in shyness, and most of all, curiosity. "...What…..kind of talk…?"
Dylan sooned blushed when she asked him that, his stomach felt odd.
"Y-You first…." Dylan offered shyly. Dolly felt her stomach roll to the question, and she sat down. Dolly felt a moment of silence come, and she kept her eyes on the hallway.
She feared puppies were going to be around soon if she didn't speed this up. No she couldn't, she needed time. Time would help her.
She turned to Dylan.
"You know…..I was thinking….maybe…." Dolly soon started to touch her ear with both her paws in a cute manner. "...Do you happen to want to spend….the day,... together…. Tomorrow….?"
Dylan's fur started to prick up. His tail started to wag in a very shy way.
"Hang out….? Tomorrow….?" Dylan asked shyly. He then looked away and started to rub his arm.
"I mean…. Uh….. sure but only if uh….." Dylan started to stutter amongst his feelings. "Is it possible….. It could be ya know….. Just me and you?"
Dolly felt her heart skip a beat. She knew Dylan. Dylan would always want someone other than a pup to watch the puppies, and their parents had work. This made it odd to Dolly why Dylan would want to go be with Dolly all alone.
"Uh…sure?" Dolly tilted her shy body to see Dawkin behind Dylan. "Oh hi! Dawkin!"
Dakwin was frozen in his own fear.
"D-Don't…. Mind….. Me…" Darwin nervously assured Dolly with a false, and surprisingly weak smile.
Dylan seemed to wave a paw in the space between Dolly and Dakwin.
"So it's a deal? You and me….. Together…. Just me and you?" Dylan asked her as he slowly clenched his paw. "I… I uh,... I….."
Dylan then used that paw to rub his shoulder nervously.
"I… I just…. Have to tell you something… the… the….. The way I…." Dylan sort of left a pause lingering. He then let out a small breath.
"...Feel…."
Dolly froze to this, with her paw still on her own chest, with it beating. She could feel it when he said that. Dolly felt this weird vibe that was around her, and Dylan.
Da Vinci and Dawkin felt it too.
Dawkin held his ears and slowly tilted towards Da Vinci.
"Can we discuss this?! Who will watch the pups?!" Dawkin complained in panic.
Dylan smiled shortly after his complaint. He turned swiftly.
"Your right…. Me and Dolly can talk about this…. And you and Da Vinci can watch the pups…" Dylan explained as he smiled. He looked at Dolly with a confident glare.
The glare reminded Dolly of the same look Dylan gave to Bones. His cool, calm, glare.
Dawkin fell forward, defeated. Dylan had outsmarted him here, but Da Vinci stood forward.
"B-But I never watched the pups before! Shouldn't Dawkin just do it?!" Da Vinci tried to ask.
Dolly turned to her with a smile.
"This will be good practice for the future!" She smirked at Dawkin. "Dawkin can teach you."
"Your getting old too ya know…" Dylan added.
Dawkin and Da Vinci slowly glared at each other, knowing that there was no arguing with these two. The two pups could tell by the way Dylan and Dolly were watching each other.
Dawkin was frustrated, but Da Vinci held her paw. She noticed something. They seemed to know each other's actions before they took them.
She still questioned their dating. She knew that was in her heart. However, she was still open if fate decided for them.
She wanted to wait.
Dylan then felt his shoulder, as he rolled his arms.
"I can't really use this arm yet…." Dylan said tiredly.
Dolly tilted towards Dylan with a soft smile.
"Well, that's fine. I'm going to push you on my skateboard, and I'll take you to where I have in mind." Dolly answered.
Dylan's heart started to rub up against his chest with beats. He smiled slowly. He thought about this. His smile grew slightly more.
"So….. It's a….. Date then?" Dylan asked with hope.
Everyone felt their hearts freeze. They all heard the confirmation each one of them hoped and feared.
Dolly felt her heart racing faster than ever before. It was all she could hear. She tried to swallow, but she was so shy.
And soon she was blushing.
"Uuuh….Yes…. It "IS" a date…." Dolly said, trying to make it happen.
Dylan smiled and he rolled his arm, with a very excited smile.
"I can't wait…." Dylan told her, as he got up and he walked away too quickly. He couldn't take the excitement in front of her.
He had to try to play it cool….
He was brushed by Dawkin shortly after.
"Thanks good buddy…." He thanked his brother as he limped by. Dawkin just crocked his unwanted smile.
Dolly turned to Da Vinci with a smile that seemed to be scared. Dolly was still in her rush, and she also felt lots of guilt. She was worried about the parents, and every other puppy's opinion.
Would Da Vinci judge her too?
Da Vinci twirled her paws together.
"Just….. Do the right thing okay? ….. I'll watch the other pups…" Da Vinci promised.
Before she too, hopped towards the door that led to the stairs.
Dolly was the last to leave the room, and she felt her heart.
She wanted this….
….But she didn't know if it was the right thing to do.
Bones was walking through an alley in the rain. His black dog hoodie was on and he didn't mind the wet atmosphere of the thick rain.
In front of Bones was a large hole in the wall, where brick was smashed out. He did it himself when the hideout was first made by his boss. The boss stayed home, because he was sick. He had a certain condition.
Celeb was leaning on the brick wall. He had a bone in his mouth.
"Swindle's already inside the boss's room…" Celeb informed Bones, and he looked at Bones. Bones seemed a bit on edge. " What took ya?"
Bones walked by, and then he stared down at Celeb. Celeb slowly eyed up at him, giving him a slight growl. Bones however pushed him hard with his paw against the wall, and then walked off.
"Shut up. We have work to do." Bones mouthed, turning down a hallway within the hole.
They went further inside this empty warehouse as they soon opened another door.
It was a large warehouse where it was able to hold multiple rides. There was only one ride, which was a black shady classic corvette.
In the center of the room however was a large pile of metal. All sorts of different pipes, exhausts, and loads of scrap.
It reached half way up towards the room.
And upon it….
Was a dalmatian.
He wore a red hoodie as he had a metal pipe covering up his face, as he was examining the metal.
Right as Swindle stepped by Bones and Celeb, Bones walked forward.
Bones walked up to the bottom of the pile. There was a large wooden palette on the bottom, so Bones jumped on it to make his stand before the dalmatian on the throne of scrap.
"Hey…. Kid! We're back…." Bones called to his other gang member, who was above him.
Slowly the metal pipe was lowered, and the dalmatian's face was revealed.
He had a burn mark across his right eye. It was like a ring, and it was a single line. It didn't damage the eye, but it went across it.
"It's not 'Kid!'" The Dalmatian yelled out before throwing his pipe.
The pipe smacked the palette that was under Bones. This caused it to shift under the other metal, making Bones stumble a bit. He looked a little more concerned with his standing.
"... K…. Whatever…Domino.. We're back…. And we were wondering if you came up with anything to eat?" Bones asked the red hooded Domino.
Domino crossed his arms, and he looked away.
"Wasn't it your job to get the food? It's not enough that I find you shelter and a safe house for whenever,... you know…" Domino twirled his arm. "you…get chased by the dog catcher, acting like a dumb fool?!"
Domino turned and began to rummage through his parts, turning his back on Bones.
"Hey! Hey! Don't you get smart with me! Remember I'm still older than you punk! Don't think you can call all the shots!" The rotterwheller snarled.
Domino tossed another pipe, and this one landed right on Bones' head.
Bones went thumbling back, as he stumbled again, but this time he tripped, and he went flying back, off the palette and he landed on the hard, cold, concrete below.
Celeb and Swindle to his aid.
"Dude!"
"Darling!"
Domino soon turned around and began not to focus on the group behind him. He didn't want to be part of this rag tag group, but…
….it was all he had.
Domino slowly reached down and picked up his favorite scrap.
It was a dog collar. It was blank, but it was fine metal. He saw it, and it reminded him of what he was.
A nobody.
"So uh… Boss?" Celeb walked forward silently. He raised his head and spat out his bone. "Like… sorry and all. We didn't find any food…. But we sort of…. Got hung up? Ya know?"
Domino closed his eyes. He felt anger. He felt abandoned and scared, and this guy just wouldn't do his job. Domino soon picked up his favorite venting scrap.
A five foot steel rebar.
Domino turned to him as if he was about to march. He made a leap and jumped closer to them.
"Hung up…?!" There was fire in his eyes. The three began to back up. "By hung up, you went and started flirting with girls right!?"
Celeb started to sweat the most. He backed up the furthest.
Bones shook his head.
"Okay… so we're guilty…. But hey…. It was a Dalmatian…. Like you, ya know…. You would have done it too!" Bones tried to twist his words.
Domino raised his rebar to strike, but the word dalmatian made him pause. He still held his reach, but he eyed them with questioning eyes.
"...Name…." Domino suddenly demanded.
"O-Of which one….? There were two…." Swindle asked with a shaky voice.
Domino turned his rebar and then touched Bones chest, and pushed him back.
"...The…..girl…" He growled through his teeth.
"... It was Dolly." Bones answered with a frown. He hated having to submit.
However, this name made him turn a 180. He withdrew the rebar swiftly. His anger and hate was gone, and he was suddenly walking backwards.
"...Dolly…?" Domino turned around and he started to pace away from them. "...So…..you know who she is…?"
"Nope… Not a clue" Celeb stated quickly in a dumb way.
"... Maybe I do…." Swindle answered, seeming to have regained her confidence and ignored her fear. "Now that I think about it….. Yeah…. I think I do know a little."
Domino turned to her with a frown.
"I know all about Dolly." Domino shot at her. He began to make his climb back up the pile. "...Yeah, she's the daughter to Diliah and Doug, a popular dog family on Dalmatian street."
Domino sat and turned around.
"...But you saw her…?" He asked, seeming interested.
"Why do you know so much about this Dolly girl….?" Swindle asked, pressing forward.
Domino seemed to have a knowing smirk.
"...I know her….. because…. "
"... We were born in the same place."
