Hermione was in love with Ginny Weasly. Shite was she even meant to think that yet? Too bad, because she was. The adorable red head had captured her heart and there was no turning back.
With a loud screech, the train came to a halt and Hermione silently exited the train, her mind reeling. Regret flooded her mind as she thought back to the kiss, what was she thinking? Hermione was meant to be the smart one. Now everything had changed and she had no clue what to do. Suddenly she saw a furious familiar face shoving his way through the crowd towards her and it pulled her out of her thoughts, into the present. She immediately recognized the furious looking figure as Ron, so she pulled out her wand and simply disappeared.
With a loud "pop," she appeared in the Gryffindoor common room. Looking around at the comforting room filled with memories, her heart sank as she realized Ginny had the same idea of escape and was curled up on a couch by the fireplace. Cautiously, she paced over and sat down next to the shaking girl on the other end of the couch. Taking a deep breath, "Hey, you okay?" Hermione said timidly. "Hey," Ginny simply replied, no tone to her voice. "I'm sorry. About what happened on the train. It was a mistake," Hermione began, trying to convince herself just as much as Ginny. Ginny furrowed her eyebrows, pursing her lips then muttering quietly, "Do you really think it was a mistake?" "Yes, of course. It should never have happened," Hermione replied reassuringly. It did not have this effect on Ginny. Her eyes seemed to shatter, breaking the light behind them and she stood up to leave. "Ginny, wait? Did you think it was a mistake?"
"Of course not! And I can't believe you do! I have been waiting all my life for that kiss and from what I felt you had too. And now you tell me it was a mistake?" Ginny's voice started to rise. "I-," Hermione began again but was cut off. "You know, I actually thought you loved me. That you cared about me. How could I have been so stupid?!"
"Of course I care about you!"
"Maybe you used to, but I know you and now that everything is so complicated you'll leave me in the dust just like you left Remi-"
"No." Hermione snapped. "You do not have the right to bring Her into this. You don't know anything about me and especially not about what happened that night, so don't you dare ever fucking speak to me like that about her again." With that, Hermione turned on her heels, leaving a stunned Ginny standing frozen by the fireplace.
