The coffee place that Dwayne had ended up taking her to was one right in the lobby of the hotel. It was apparently one of the best shops around. They sold normal and exotic coffees and had quite a selections of baked goods as well. Samantha looked around, feeling nervous and embarrassed as she sat across from the large and famous man. Clearing her throat, she fiddled with the hem of her dress as she focused on her fingers.
Dwayne watched her for a moment, a small smile on his face. "So...Samantha..." Her wide eyes shot to him, her face flushing. "Y-yes?" Leaning back in the booth, Dwayne focused his attention on her. "What brings you to Hawaii?" Shrugging, Samantha looked at her hands again. "I just..." Letting out a sigh, she brings her eyes back up to his. "I just needed a break."
When she saw Dwayne tilt his head and the questions in her eyes, Samantha swallowed and folded her hands on the table. "I was here with my roommate and we were supposed to be here for two weeks but she got sick and had to go home early. I almost left with her but she convinced me to stay and finish the vacation." Dwayne nodded in understanding as a waiter came up to them.
Turning his eyes to her, Dwayne smiled. "Any ideas on what you'd like?" Biting her lip, Samantha shook her head. "Um, something cold to drink and something to eat?" Her face flushed. "I didn't even look at the menu, I'm so sorry." Dwayne shook his head to ease her worry. "Would you mind if I ordered for you? Do you have any allergies to food?" He asked, lifting an eyebrow. Samantha thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, please, and no food allergies."
Dwayne turned to the waiter and smiled. "An Iced Hibiscus Ginger Tea, a Hawaiian Latte, and two of the Hawaiian bread and maple banana baked french toast, please." When the waiter left, Samantha blinked. "Hawaiian bread like the sweet rolls?" Dwayne turned to her and smiled. "Just like that. They add it all together and bake it. It's the best breakfast they have here, in my opinion."
Samantha nodded before going quiet again. After a few moments, she gathered her courage. "So you must be on break from acting and wrestling right now?" Dwayne let out a deep breath and leaned against the booth again. "Yeah, I really needed a break. Normally I would bring my kids with me but I just needed a little me time."
A wry smiled appeared on Samantha's face and she chuckled. "Yeah, until I walked onto the patio and ruined your alone time." Dwayne grinned at her and shrugged, leaning forward and placing his forearms on the table. "I wouldn't use the word ruined." At his open smile and confession, Samantha flushed crimson and looked at her hands again. "I'm still not sure why you asked me here. I never thought in a million years that I would ever be in Hawaii and having breakfast with you."
Dwayne frowned slightly and looked at his hands. "If you're uncomfortable being here with me..." Samantha gasped and her head raised. "No no! That's...I'm sorry, that's not what I meant. I just meant that you could have coffee with anyone you wanted to and you picked me. I just don't understand why."
Nodding, Dwayne was quiet as their drinks were brought. "I just thought you looked interesting and took a chance." Samantha didn't know what to say to that so she tried her drink instead. At the burst of flavor, her eyes widened and she looked at her cup. "Wow." Dwayne chuckled and sipped his latte. "Great, right?"
Samantha nodded. "Yeah! It's so refreshing, especially for the hot weather." Dwayne's eyes traced her form. "The dress must be cooling you off too." Samantha flushed again and turned her eyes to his outfit. "Your outfit looks like it's keeping you cool as well." He grinned and played with the collar of the shirt. "Yeah, I think it's doing it's job."
Samantha smiled and sipped her drink again, glad the ice seemed to have been broken. When their food came, Dwayne's smile grew. "Oh, yes, now here we go. I can't wait to watch you try this." When she did, Samantha's eyes closed and she couldn't stop the small moan that escaped her lips. "Oh that is just SINFUL!" She looked back at Dwayne, who was staring at her a bit wide eyed. Feeling self conscious, Samantha bit her lip. "Sorry."
Shaking his head, Dwayne's cheeks dusted pink. "Oh, don't be. That was a great reaction." A giggle escaped her and she dug into her food just as he did.
They ate slowly and talked, the small talk past them. Before Samantha knew it, it was close to lunch but she wasn't at all hungry. Dwayne finished his drink and looked at her as the waiter took their dirty dishes. "Did you want anything else?" Shaking her head, Samantha finished her drink. "Oh no way. I am so full I'll have to walk a mile to work it off." Dwayne laughed and paid for their meal before they stood.
He stood there for a moment before rubbing the back of his neck. "Um, so...I don't know if you had plans but we can go for a walk if you want to? Or maybe swimming again?" Samantha watched Dwayne and smiled. "A swim sounds great." They walked to the elevator and looked at each other for a moment. "So we'll just meet at the pool in around 20 minutes?" She asked, seeing him nod. "Sounds great."
Samantha smiled and stepped onto the elevator with him. "Thank you for breakfast." Dwayne returned her smile and waved his hand. "No need. I'm glad I could introduce you to those items." They stood there as the elevator began to move. When it reached the 4th floor, Samantha stepped off, turning to Dwayne. "See you down there."
Dwayne smiled and nodded, lifting his hand in a wave as the door closed. Samantha went back to her room in a daze, unable to believe she'd just had breakfast with a famous actor. The very actor that she'd always had a crush on. Sitting on her bed, thoughts ran rampant through her head. It was a meal, and Dwayne had paid. Did that make it a date? Samantha covered her flaming face and groaned, falling back onto her bed.
This was insane. What was she DOING?! He was Dwayne Johnson for Gods sake! There was NO WAY that this could work. She lived in a nowhere town in Wyoming and he was a famous actor! While she was laying there, she almost talked herself out of meeting him, but a small voice in her head told her not to waste the opportunity. A famous actor wanted to spend time with her, so why not?
Sitting up, Samantha made her way to the bathroom, pulling her curls into a high ponytail and adding silver hoops to her ears. Making her way to her dresser, she chose a high waisted two piece suit. The top was a black halter that lifted her breasts and the bottom was covered in a print of sunflowers. She slipped on her black flip flops and a black dress style cover up. Putting a towel in her bag and grabbing her sunscreen and sunglasses, she made her way down to the pool.
Dwayne was already there and putting his things on a lounge chair when she came up. He turned towards her and smiled when he saw that she'd put her curls up and added earrings. She returned his smile as she put her belongings on the next chair. Reaching up, she took off her cover up and added her sunglasses, flushing as she caught him staring at her. Holding out her tube of sunscreen, she suddenly felt brave. "Can you help me? I can't reach my back."
Dwayne nodded and accepted the tube, adding the sunscreen to his hands as she turned and moved her hair out of the way. Samantha held her breath and bit her lip as she waited to feel his hands on her shoulders and back. When it finally happened, she gasped and shivered. He paused and she didn't have the guts to look back. "Are you okay?" He asked, causing her to nod.
"Uh, y-yeah. It's just cold." Swallowing, her eyes slid closed as she felt him rubbing the lotion into her skin. She could tell that he had strong hands and they were slightly calloused. All too soon, he removed his hands and they got into the pool, staying a little bit away from each other.
"I love how warm the water is here." She commented, sitting on the steps and looked at him through her glasses. The water was shining on his skin and she could see every ripple of muscle on his darkened skin. She leaned back, resting her elbows on the stairs behind her, and he just watched her as he got on his knees in the water.
For a while, they said nothing, just looking around and at each other. Samantha felt tension between them but she wasn't sure what kind of tension it was. Tilting her head, Samantha turned her attention back to him. "So, can I ask why you decided to start acting? Not that I'm complaining, I just remember watching you wrestle on t.v. with my dad and it seemed like boom, you started acting."
Dwayne couldn't stop the smile from gracing his face at her admission, and he shrugged, moving closer to her. "I was asked to be a host on SNL and after that, they just started coming to me for different roles. The rest they say, is history." He was quiet for a moment before smirking over at her. "So, you used to watch me wrestle, huh?"
Samantha flushed and laughed, nodding her head. "Well yeah, you were one of my favorite wrestlers. When I was a kid I thought it was all real and would get upset every time you got hurt." At her admission, he moved closer, a smug interest showing on his face. "I was your favorite, huh? What happened?"
Her eyes widened behind her shades and she felt her cheeks heat. Sliding off the stairs, she made her way to the other shallow corner of the pool, trying to act aloof. "Well, I guess technically you still are, but you don't wrestle as much anymore so I moved on to others." His smile grew and he stood, following her as she leaned against the curve of the corner. Samantha felt her breath freeze in her lungs as he moved closer to her, his smile growing. "So, you moved on to other wrestlers, huh?"
He stopped before her and leaned forward, his long arms caging her in but at the same time, leaving plenty of space. Letting out a shaky breath, Samantha raised to head to look up at him as she took off her sunglasses. "I guess if you wanted to keep your fans, you should have kept wrestling."
Dwayne nodded, looking down at her. "Guess I'll have to start again, huh? Wouldn't want to lose my biggest fan." A cheeky smile appeared of Samantha's face and she laughed. "Oh I never said I was your biggest fan, Dwayne. Sorry to disappoint." Dwayne chuckled and shook his head, leaning down slowly to whisper in her ear. "Don't worry, Samantha. NOTHING about you disappoints."
When he finished, he moved away, smirking at her as he went under the water. Samantha took a deep, shuddering breath and looked around. She needed a drink and FAST. Catching the eye of the bartender, she waved him over and glanced at Dwayne. "D-do you want something?" Tilting his head for a moment, he nodded. "Sure, I'll take a rum punch." Turning her eyes to the bartender, she nodded. "A rum punch and a blue Hawaii, please."
After he left, Samantha submerged only up to her neck, not wanting to get her hair too wet. She stood again, wanting the breeze to cool her off. She was unable to believe that she and Dwayne were flirting with each other. Taking another deep breath, she made her way to the side of the pool, tossing her shades onto her chair. Hearing him moving around in the water behind her, she closed her eyes and hoped the drinks came soon. If she was going to survive this, she would need a drink to do so.
