1949
"Get away from my property Bitch!", said the man and pushed the young woman away
Pamela fell to the ground. Her light yellow dress, becoming dirty from mud.
"Give my money and then i'll go!", demanded Pamela and continued, 'I worked to obtain them!.
"You did no such thing Girly...", said the man and laughed, "I told you that i would try you out experimentally to see if you were worth your trouble... turns out you're not... Now get out of my sight and my property!".
Pamela became furious at that and more desperate yelling back to him, "I didn't see you having any problem with me sooner! (she screamed so hard feeling that her lungs would collapse from exhaustion) I leave but i'll be back with the police!".
At her words the man yelled at her, "Now i am terrified. Do whatever the hell you want... Bitch!" and went inside his shop.
Pamela walked at the roads of Crystal Lake not knowing were she was going. Her heart screamed Pain! She was sweating all over her body, for the day was hot, her yellow dress, had been ripped from the older man's mighty push and her leg had been hurt.
Tears were running down her face, but she didn't know if she felt angry, or sad, or desperate.
"FUCK!", she yelled kicking a tree.
Pamela as a person hated swears and swearing in general. From childhood she had been teached that swears were bad words. And only sinners and bad souls used them. It wasn't only that though... The Brunette found those words uncharacteristically savage. She got disgusted, by men especially who used them so frequently.
He used them from time to time...
She felt her blood boiling down, as she was ready to explode! Now it was the worst time to think about him.
Two weeks had passed since the day she had been fired. Two weeks... and she felt so useless. She did everything she could to get a job but no-one really needed employees. They leaved in a small town and small towns rarely get out of their routine. At least, that happens here in Crystal Lake Town...
Everyone has his or her role and it's impossible for anything to change. It's like a Curse actually! Like a cycle that never ends!
"Not having a role in a place like that...", murmured the woman to herself, "... is the True Curse!".
She had visited every store in the town searching for employment. The answers were three, usually. Either a blunt "NO", a sad "Sorry, but we don't need anything or the worst "Yes, okay... but i will try you first...".
Like the animal that just attacked her. Many people here wanted some 'victims'. Younger people, usually teens or someone who was desperate to get the job. They tried them... putting them to do all the heavy work and when they're finally over, they just kicked them out, without giving them anything! Not even a penny for their time.
The young woman couldn't understand why some people were so mean?
What were they gaining out of all of this?
Some extra time to relax...
She immediately thought of Angela, the reason she was thrown out of her work. The black woman was a primary example of that problem! Pamela was nothing but good to her. She liked her, even wanted to become friends with the other girl. She would love to have a Girl-friend around her age to talk, and relax and cook possibly.
She admired the fun and bold black girl and was nothing but kind to her...
But what she took in return... Hate!
And for no reason! She received hate, and teasing and down right cruelty. And now she felt it back, that red angry feeling. If the angel hates her, then she hates the other woman back!
"But Why?", those words escaped her lips unexpectedly.
Why such cruelty?
What they were gaining with this?
Pamela was becoming desperate, her money ended and so were the options.
Walking in the town without a purpose she stopped in front of a store. There she saw a Wallpaper that picked her interest.
The store was a shop with wigs.
It said, [For anyone who wants some extra money, you can give us your hair and take it back in cash!].
Pamela without realising it, grabbed her hair. Her long brown curls were extremely important to the woman. It was a symbol, not only of her beauty, but also her femininity! For her a true woman had long, beautiful hair.
A woman with short hair... wasn't a woman in her eyes!
She could be a man, for all she knew.
Losing her hair...
No! Pamela had done many things. She wanted to wear prettier clothes, but she didn't and she just was contented with the ones she already had. She wanted new shoes, like all girls her age, but she was with the same pair she wore when she had Jason four years ago and she was grateful for having even that.
She never lived in luxury before, so she didn't have a problem with living in a trailer. When she nearly stayed homeless she was more than grateful for the dirty trailer. She tried to be positive and as always make the best out of her circumstances. And so she did, taking the junker she was given and turning it, into a home! Something that was quite her own!
Something unique!
That didn't mean she didn't want to live for once comfortably, not being afraid if the next month she could be out on the streets or being scared that her son wouldn't even have food to eat!
She wished she could have more... Like all people do! She wanted to have the money to buy the best toys for her unique, kindhearted and clever boy. Wishing she could give him the best clothes, not the used ones that Father William provided for them. Wishing she could take him for vocation for once, outside of Crystal Lake, for they both had never been outside of the town. And they both Needed it!
She Grabbed her chest!
Wishing... she could have the money to take him, to New York, Europe perhaps... To take him to the best doctors to cure his face. For Pamela adores her boy and his unique beauty but she knew... oh she knew that people were cruel and that they would harm him.
The world is a dangerous place for the weak and fragile. And the world hates different!
"Don't underestimate him...", Father Williams words echoed through her mind.
No it wasn't her Treasure she underestimated! She knew that Jason was clever, she was the first person who knew that he had many abilities and powers. God, blessed him (she crossed herself) With A Beautiful Mind!
Her angel, talked for the first time when he was 8 weeks old. No-one believed her, but she knew it! She had seen it with her own eyes. Being in their shoes, she wouldn't have believe it either. But she could never AND would never forget that day!
The day he... He said her name, her title, for the first time.
He said "Mommy!".
And she was ecstatic. It was just right! For she felt more like a mother and less like a Pamela. Whoever, that person really was.
He walked when he was only 6 months old.
He started reading when he was only 2 and immediately begged her to teach him how to write! And so she did! They studied together and Pamela was surprised to realize that her baby, 3 years old son actually corrected her to many things.
Teaching her Jason was one of the most fun and wonderful times she honestly had in her life. Everything she did with her son, she adored and she wouldn't change it for the world. Her child, loved learning, but he especially loved math! He liked numbers and spent his free time solving problems in his mind, he himself created.
Pamela, knew very well that her boy wasn't normal! But in a good way. He was Special! His intelligence wasn't like the one that a child his age had. His intelligence was beyond average, his mind complicated and fast in a way that Pamela feared actually.
For she was a normal girl. She was raised to be normal!
To serve, to obey, to be a good housewife for her husband. A dutiful wife and mother. She was smart as well, but not like that. Pamela knew very well that she was a normal person as average as they come and she had no idea what to do with Jason!
For he deserved the best teachers!
Under different circumstances he could go to the best schools and with his intellect make a change for all the average people of the world! Pamela was clever enough to know that, but she was also practical and a realist. She knew very well, that this would never come to pass! Not in the real world, not in 1949, not in here...
For her son had a truly unique mind!
A mind that was endless, huge and beautiful! A mind that if it belonged to anyone else could really make a difference, but that was only a fools errand. Her little son was blessed with a beautiful mind, but he was also given an impractical face!
And that was everything people would see!
They only looked at the cover, never what it really contained. What it really was!
Always the Cover: A pretty girl, a small boy, a blonde, a man of colour, a blind man with white hair... The fat and the short...
Pamela knew that her son was a genius, but people would only see deformity! That they would never give him a fair chance...
And she wouldn't stay passive, watching those Beasts that call themselves Humans tear him apart.
Because Pamela was a mother and mother means a protector!
She looked at the Wallpaper and the small shop!
Pamela has learnt as well to live without many things, learning from a young age to put Pamelas needs second. And she was okay with that! Because she had everything she could ever ask for, but her hair was the one thing she wanted to keep for herself.
It may seemed idiotic, but for her it was very important.
She was not ready to give up her hair!
Looking at the wallpaper one last time, she shooked her head...
No, she would find another way!
Lost deep into her thoughts, the young woman didn't realize that she wasn't paying any attention to where she was heading. Her mind returned to reality very abruptly, when the brunette felt herself falling into someone. She immediately apologized as she heard the person yelling from being surprised.
"I'm so sorry... i am very absent-minded!", said the woman and taking a better look at the other person she recognized the last person she wanted to see right now.
And then Angela popped into her mind...
'Well, almost the last person...', thought Pamela but didn't dare to share what was in her mind.
A woman, that was around her forties looked at her sternly, but also somehow looking glad to see her. She had blonde dyed hair, but the roots of her hair were black. She was a thin woman that looked efficient and serious, not letting her face betray her feelings.
"Pamela! It's okay. I'm actually glad to see you. I was looking for you everywhere!.", answered the woman her voice being typical and her tone quite serious.
"Miss Trudy... Hello!, murmur the brunette, "Tell me how can I help you?", said the girl playing it dump.
Pamela, wasn't stupid... She knew very well the reason her former boss was searching for her. She realize that at some point the older woman, would dig her out but she honestly wanted to avoid it, for as long as she could.
"My rent Miss Voorhees! You're late...", started saying Trudy but Pamela cut her desperately.
"Please! I don't have any money right now... and I'm searching for a job everyday...", the other Woman then cought her fastly as well.
"Pamela, two weeks past ever since you left my Diner...", said Trudy.
'Ever since you FIRED me...', thought the brunette angrily.
"... Two weeks and you're still SEARCHING for a job! In my experience dear I learnt one thing. Any person who wants to work finds a Job, everyone else just find excuses. I don't have time for excuses and I have been very patient with you... I helped you and your orphan to find a home, I got you a job...", she continue but at the womans words Pamela's blood boiled from anger and she couldn't control herself.
She could take anything that was aimed at her, but she would never let anyone berate her son.
"My son IS NOT an orphan! He has me and I am both mother and father! I do the best i can with what I've got and you know it! (she felt angry, like a child who lashes out to her guardian, but then she became cooler) I am very grateful to you for taking me in but I need a little more time!", she finished, not actually believing herself capable of having the courage to say all that.
"Your child is an Orphan Ms. Voorhees!", the other Woman said coldly, "You have to face reality if you and your orphaned and... (she was silent for a few seconds, like she was thinking what she was going to say next or probably to find the right words she would use)
... Weak son plan to survive! Life is hard for all people, especially for a woman! And even more one who is all alone in the world, with a child who has both mental and physical... problems! You should admit to yourself your situation, and accept it! Or else, your screwed!
In your situation, i would thank the boys father... for he married you, at least. Being a mother alone with an orphan is one thing, but having a bastard... that's a stigma that follows a woman and the child for their whole lives! Accept your weaknesses or else you're lost! That's a piece of advice from one woman to another!
Now i sawed kindness and sheltered you out of pity, but you took advantage of my tolerance. No more! I expect my payment until Sunday Miss Voorhees or else find another place to stay!", finished the woman.
Pamela tried to answer, "Please give me only...", but the other woman stopped her immediately.
"Good day Ms Voorhees!", she said smiling fakely and leaving poor Pamela there standing like a statue!
"3, 2, 1", a male voice echoed threw out the whole church, "And i am out... Jason!".
A man only 27 years old, with black hair, wearing a Catholic priests outfit jumped from his seat! He was smiling and seemed like he had the time of his life. His voice was playful and his eyes full of Life!
"I AM GOING TO FIND YOU... NO MATTER WHERE YOU HIDE!", he yelled and moved like he was a hunter.
Father William enjoyed playing with the boy. Ever since his mother left little Jason in the church in his care, while she was out working Billy's life had become much more fun.
In the beginning, he wasn't ecstatic to babysit the small boy but after poor Pamela begged him to help her, he couldn't turn her down.
William Wayne was born and raised in Crystal Lake Town! Like most of them actually. Well, back then Crystal Lake Town was more of a village, than anything else. It started to became more and more popular after they... The Christy family opened a camp in the town's Lake, naming it Camp Crystal Lake!
It was after that in 1935 when their tiny piece of land became popular and people from all around New Jersey, even further started to visit it.
The inhabitants were divided into two groups, like they always were!
Firstly, they were those who liked the change and were actually glad. For their home being known to the world actually meant something! Most of the businessmen of the town were ecstatic and celebrated this with every chance. Younger people also liked it, same with kids that finally had a way to connect with the outside world!
But there was another part of the villagers who were not just disliking it... they hated the change! First and foremost, people who live away from noise, who spent their whole lives in small communities don't like to be disturbed. And all these new arrivals, meant that nothing would be the same again. But annoyance was one reason...
...there was another one though...
It wasn't a secret, that many people disliked the Christys. If that detest was well deserved or not, Billy as a priest and a man of God didn't want to confirm. He had his opinion of course, but he knew the people here. And he realised that they were searching for a reason to fight. And he wasn't! He didn't want participate in the townspeople business.
However, he was just one man!
Most of the town dishliked the Cristy Family for many reasons. And the camp being open became for many locals just another reason to hate them! Most of these natives were older or very superstitious, but they got disgusted with the Cristys Family lack of respect to their own lands.
For there were many stories and dark rumours about that Lake. The place was beautiful, but every rose has its thorns and if you're not careful those thorns will pierce you! The same was true about Crystal Lake!
It had Crystal clear waters and a very Bloody history!
His mother is one of those who believed these rumours. Father William remembered well the woman saying to him when the first children and camp counselors arrived,
"They did it! They don't respect anything. Not the land that gave birth to them, nor as... This abomination of theirs will ruin us all. Hope they Burn in Hell for their blasphemy!", her words were still Crystal clear and alive in his mind. Like she said it before two minutes.
The priest was actually disgusted with her and everyone who thinks like that. He loved her, but sometimes his mother became insufferable. Same with the locals. They said, that by opening a camp in the Lake, the Christys made a terrible mistake. They created the worst kind of sacrilège. They disturbed the Dead!
Billy didn't know if he wanted to be angry or laugh at their ignorance!
These people liked to live in fear. He honestly believed that. For they created problems out of boredom!
For a priest, Father William didn't believe in supernatural. Not in God! He believed in peoples power and stupidity. Sometimes their power of stupidity!
That's why, he ignored his mother when she told him to stay away from Pamela.
Like the Cristys, Pamela was a person most of the villagers tried to avoid. But unlike the Cristys they didn't hate her... they feared her! It wasn't her fault really. More than anything it was the fault of her past...
Many of the elders believed the young girl to be cursed... same as her son!
Another curse...
Billy really wanted to keep a list of the town's curses. The Voorhees curse was the newest and because of that the most popular! For the lake origins seemed far away and lost in time, but the Voorhees Family fate... well that was new and still fresh in the minds of the town.
And it was true! It was terrible, what happened to the Voorhees... but Pamela wasn't at fault. She was a single mother. A little girl struggling to realise what it means to be an adult and how real life worked.
And she did that without any help!
At the same time, when the other 19 years old of the town were out, having fun, partying and living their lives carefree and happy with their parents watching their every step and keeping them safe, Pamela struggled to survive. To feed herself and her boy!
Billy admired the young woman as he honestly, NEVER admired anyone for she had courage and strength he wished to possess.
Pamela was a True Warrior!
And the locals would never admit it out loud, but they knew it as well!
Father William, never really interacted with the young teen before! He had seen her of course, for they lived in the same place their whole lives but they never actually talked. Pamela being just a young child and then a pretty teen... who didn't have the time to even be one. She fell for someone, then became pregnant and then got married.
And he... a teen who just wanted to hunt, a young man who was at war with his father, a man who was forced to become something he wasn't meant to be only to realise that he actually enjoyed it!
They never had the time, not the opportunity, nor the right age to interact. In truth he was very indifferent about the young girl who gave birth to the monster! He knew her only through the stories and the Gossips that the bored towns people, who actually, had nothing to do with their lives, said about her.
This was the situation, until last year. One night, that was raining he returned to the church after... a difficult time he had. His whole body was wet and for once he didn't work the priests clothes. Wearing a simple black shirt, as well as black pants and boots he came to his church only to realize that the locked doors, had been open.
Then running inside ready to fight the intruder, he found her. A young woman grovelled, with beautiful long brown curls and old clothes, praying in front of the picture of Virgin Mary! And then, only for a moment... he, the man who never believed in anything an anyone was actually terrified and charmed.
For he thought looking at the magnetic woman in front of him, that this was Madonna! She was so delicate but also somehow strong, that she looked unreal! She looked like a Goddess! But of course she wasn't. She was human and as the man approached her more and more he understood that better better.
They talked for the whole night... It was a Long and Difficult night for both of them and they actually found comfort in each others company! And then after witnessing the woman's Beauty, after being so lost in her words... he tried to make a move.
He was pretty and he knew for he had a talent with the opposite sex. Having incredible confidence to his good looks he was ready to conquer that sweet young lady, but Pamela stopped him! She was angry of course, furious... not for making a move to her, but for doing it inside the Holiest of places!
The man didn't do this for the first time, but he was moved, even admired the girls faith and innocence. She left angrily and the next day he went and apologized to her. In the beginning she wanted nothing to do with him. She accepted his apology but then she wanted for to be left alone. But Billy Wayne wasn't the kind of man who laid down his arms that easily.
He fought for her attention, for this ugly dressed, poor teen mother who gave birth to deformity was special! Perhaps you didn't realize it immediately but after a while you could see her inner beauty, as well as her outside appearance who made a perfect combination! And after a month of trying desperately to approach her, she finally gave him a chance!
Not in a Romantic way and of course nor in a Sexual one! They just talked and enjoyed each others company! In Pamela the man found something very important... another, a different approach to life. He saw in the young girl strength, a profound wisdom and pure, clear faith.
Faith in God, he never possessed!
Faith in Humanity!
Faith in Love!
And then one day, the young mother came to him desperately. Begging him to help her, by keeping her son while she was working and he agreed. For he understood that otherwise the desperate woman would lose her job. In the beginning, he wasn't very fond of the idea for he didn't exactly adore children.
Preferring the company of adults and especially pretty and clever women, believing children to be a waste of time, stupid and all out annoying. And if for once he wasn't fond of kids in general, he surely wasn't ecstatic with the idea of babysitting a deformed child with mental problems.
But all that change with meeting Jason! If his mother changed many things within him, then the little lad came to tear apart everything he thought he knew! The boy was very shy, down right antisocial at the beginning. He did not talk, only nodding at times when Father William asked him something. He was sitting in the corner, lost in his own little world.
Father William, truly thought back then that young Jason had many mental disabilities. And that was acknowledged also by his mother who never actually confirmed it with words, but always gave this impression to the world! And Jasons natural shyness didn't help the matter!
The first week, had passed like that with William working in the church and Jason staying there in a corner, thinking or playing. But then the eighth day the priest found the 3-year-old above his bills. He was annoyed at the beginning, being sure that the 3-year-old had destroyed the papers but he was surprised when he understood that all of his bills were organised. He watched the young kid and then Jason shyly talked for the first time.
"I...I pu..t, th...ey ar...e a... l...ot!", the boy said low voiced.
The man was astonished, never seeing something like that before. The boy took him by the hand and sawed him how to solve some problems he had with money. Billy only looked at the boy. When Pamela came to take him that afternoon, he observed the deformed kid in depth!
Every movement of his, every look. When the young boy laid eyes on his mother, all of his shyness was Lost! He jumped and smily run into her arms. And then he saw something, just a normal kid who was happy and smiling that had a huge head!
And at that moment, Billy for the first time watched the woman with anger, even disgust...
He decided not to tell her anything yet and from the next day he approached little Jason reintroducing himself! The boy was afraid and shy as hell... and Father William actually started to find him cute!
He gave the kid his space, so he could feel comfortable. They spent more and more time together. Young Voorhees helped him with the churches bills and it was like that how Father Bill understood the boys talent for Math! Jason made accounts in his mind all the bloody time, he was solving problems he himself created.
But his yearning for knowledge didn't stop there. Billy wanted to introduce Jason to the Bible, believing that the boy would love the stories it contained. And like that he started reading to young Jason the Bible! He wasn't even at the second page yet, when the boy took the book from his hands and he started reading it out loud himself.
The man was Speechless and he wanted to interrogate the boys mother and make sure that he was in fact 3-years-old!
The boy red the Bloody thing Two Times!
Billy was admiring his patience for he never liked reading all that much and he actually found the whole thing quite boring. But with Jason reading him the book, he saw it with another light. Then one day he brought a chess board to the boy and Jason was looking at the box with pure curiosity!
Billy who loved the game explained the rules to the kid and after playing a few rounds, he saw something he never had before. He saw little Jason smiling and having fun! He saw him being so happy, like when he only saw him with his mother. Jason defeated him many times that day but the man didn't care for the little boy was looking so happy... so damn happy!
The kid was very creative and analytical as well in his movements. And Father William actually took many ideas from the lads process of thought. To say he was amazed would be an understatement! He had never seen something like that before, not he believed it possible.
In that day he truly fell in love with the boy. The kid came to him and hugged him tightly. Billy didn't move until the small boy smiled and thanking him!
"Thank you!", he told him, "For sawing me this!".
In that moment the man realized that he was in love... for the little creature stole and melted his heart!
There were many reasons as to why you could be Amazed with the boy.
And many more reasons to be angry to his mother. When he finally had understood the boys abilities... the more time he spent with the boy, the more he saw his intelligence, the angrier he became with Pamela!
He was furious with the woman for making everyone believing her son to be stupid when in fact he was one of the strongest minds he met in his lifetime. He understood however her reasoning for doing what she was doing and that was the only reason for not lashing out at her. It wasn't out of bad intentions, it was out of fear!
For a person to be so clever at such a young age!
And so kind...
For Jason wasn't only incredibly smart for his age, he had an adoration of animals as well. The man saw that love for the first time when a little swallow broke his wing and fell to the churches yard. Jason came to him crying and the man was immediately alerted, jumping from his seat to check what have happened to the little angel!
And then he saw at the boys arms a little bird. His angel, cried for the little creature's pain. It was like he could understand the small animals Suffering! Father William, took the bird and sawed to Jason how they could cure it. They kept it for days until it was able to fly again!
However, when it was time to leave it fly away Jason wasn't having it! He refused to do it. He hugged the bird and hide with it. Father William didn't have any problem finding him for even a genius, was still a small child. Jason cried like crazy, begging the man to let him keep his new friend.
Billy would never force him to give the bird up. He wanted for the sweet child to realise somethings for himself! And so he took them both and just talked to the little boy. Told him a story about friendship and freedom! Wanting to make him understand that we can't make people stay with us just because we want them to! That every creature has a right to be free and that true love means letting the other person, or in this case animal... Go!
When he finished his boy had tears in his eyes. He hugged the little animal delicately and with Father William holding him by one hand, they went outside and set the swallow free! And as they watched the bird fly away, Father William looked at small Jason wondering what he would become when he would fly away!
Jason, loved all animals cats, dogs, rabbits and he especially loved mouses. The black haired priest was curious as to why at the beginning but he soon realised that Jason found them cute! The priest actually founded that this animal suited Jason a lot, for being so delicate, so small and yet so misunderstood!
He didn't like kids that was true, for he found them stupid and they brought him headache. But here he had a child that was smarter than any adult he ever met, that was cute and shy and that was the sweetest soul when you actually took your time to know him!
He saw Jason!
He saw a Person!
He saw A small miracle!
He was a miracle...
And now he played hide and seek with his boy! He was the one that actually made Jason a little more active in games, for the boy was much more of a quite, sitting in his corner kind of kid. In the opposite side, was Father William!
When he remembered his own time as a young boy, he was never in one place for more than 2 minutes. He run, climbing trees and he had been lost in the woods far more times than he could count. He had hit and broke every part of his body, making his mother worried and winning a good beating from his father.
He wanted to activate the young boy more!
That's why he learnt to him all games he knew. They were playing everyday a different game, from treasure hunt, to hide and seek, to chasing eachother inside the church and out!
Eh, today the Menu had hide and seek for them!
Billy, searched around the church for the little sweet boy. Jason was small so he could hide easily but he was also very loud in his movements and clumsy, so the man would hear him if he moved. He searched threw the church and he was amazed for the boy became better and better at the game. Father William, started to become tired and so he decided to use a different method.
He smiled devilishly and fell on the floor.
"Oh... my God... my leg... it BLOODY HURTS!", he yelled grabbing his leg to really get into his role.
Then a boy fastly appeared from behind him. He was under a picture of the virgin Mary holding little jesus in her arms.
"So there you are...", said the man and grabbed little Jason, "I got you there!".
The boy looked at him with teared eyes, "Th...that wasn't f...fair Father William, i was scared...", said the boy crying and hugging him.
"No it wasn't Jay!", answered the man and caressed the kids deformed head, "It wasn't... but still i found you!".
"Not FAIR!", he said now and when the man saw his face he wanted to laugh. He looked so innocent. Even angry this boy was so pure and sweet.
"Now come on, it's almost time for your mother to come and get you... let's eat something first thought!", the boy smiled at him nodding his head positively.
"YESSY!", he jumped enthusiastically.
As they both walked out of the building they saw the kids mother arriving.
"Pam...you came earlier!", but the woman was sad, her face broken and full of tears.
"My God Pamela what happened?", asked the man and ran to her.
Jason uncharacteristically left his hand with all of his power and run to her, "MOMMY WHY ARE YOU CRYING? MOMMY...", the woman cleaned her tears but she couldn't contain them. The more tears she cleaned, the more came...
She hugged her son tightly, "Don't worry Jason..."", she said sucking her tiny nose.
In that Father William smiled.
'For all your boldness Pamela Voorhees you're still a kid, as well.", he thought.
"Jay", said the man, "Please go inside for a while!".
"NO!", said the boy and it was the first time he actually was disobedient. The kid continued, "I will stay with my Mommy!".
"JASON...", Pamela's voice was stern but somehow warm at the same time, "Do what Father William told you!".
In her voice Jason looked at her sad, A..and you're going to be okay Mommy?"
She shooked her head positively, "Yes! (she smiled) as long as i have you i am going to be fine! (she kissed his head) Now Go!", the boy nodded positively his head and just run inside.
Then the man turned to her, "You have a way with kids don't you?", the woman just looked at him defeated and she sobbed again!
He came near her, "Pamela Voorhees!", he said sternly, "If you don't tell me what's the problem i can't help you?", he finished.
She was wearing a long yellow dress, black shoes and a hat.
She slowly took out the hat! Billy's eyes widened as he laid his eyes in her head.
Her long beautiful, brown curls were gone. Now her hair were badly cut and short coming down to her chin.
"PAM... (his blood was boiling) WHAT HAPPENED? WHO DARED TO DO THIS TO YOU?", he screamed.
"No-one did... i, it was my choice!,", she continue to cry like crazy.
Father William, have never seen her before like this! Many times this woman had face difficulties, she knew that first hand, but she never lost her positivity and strength. Now she was at the brink of collapsing.
"Why then?", he said his voice soft now.
"I... Trudy my former boss, found me and told me that if I don't repay her rent until Sunday she will throw us both on the streets. I had no other choice and no time... She was right, i was irresponsible and took advantage of the kindness she sawed me... Truth is I don't care about me, but Jason no I can't let him live on the streets.", she cried and covered her eyes with her small hands.
Then, in a rare moment for him, he run and hugged her tightly!
"Father William...", she said.
"Shhhh, you are a truly beautiful person Pamela", he said.
"Did you repay that Bitch...?", he questioned the woman.
"Don't talk like that!", she said the woman and nodding her head positively continued, "Yes! It was the first thing I did after I took the money!".
"Pamela, (he said) She is the one that is getting advantage of your kindness! Leave that place...", he said.
"To go where?", she answered.
"Come and stay with me for a time! Bring Jason with you, i have a lot of space actually and you will not have to pay me anything!", he finished.
"No!", she shooked her head, "You've done way too much already... You find clothes for us, you keep Jason everyday, I can't be dependent to your kindness and good heart William (he looked at her, for that was the first time she ever called him just by his first name)".
"Come on think about it, please! We're going to have fun the three of us! And also don't ever say that you're taking advantage of me... that's what friends are for actually!", he finished and the woman smiled at him but still nodded her head negatively.
"I am sorry... i can't!", she finished.
"Oh my god Pammy you're so proud!', he said.
The woman's eyes darkened and her voice became terrifying and hard, in a way that the man would never actually believe it, if he hadn't see it! In a way her appearance could never give away such Darkness and Anger.
"Don't Ever Call me like that again!", she demanded.
The man became serious, "It's because of him isn't it?".
In that the woman didn't answer. Just remained cold and silent.
He then grabbed her by the shoulders and forced her to make eye contact with him, "He was an idiot! Really! Take that from another man... He isn't worth your time! Also i won't force you to come and stay with me, but Pamela Voorhees I want you to know that whatever happens i am here! My home is always open for you!", he said confidently.
She smiled at him and gave him a huge hug, "Thank you! Really!!!".
The man just. caressed her head and said huffing, "What's happening with you Voorhees and hugs?...".
'You make me soft!, he thought to himself, ""So soft!".
Angela finished her swift. Just another boring day was over! She was ready to leave and. finally go out and have fun! Spent her night partying and dancing and perhaps enjoy every kind of pleasure that life has to offer!!
Her body yearned for touching. She wanted for someone to kiss her and just give her the illusion of Love even for a night. She was a being of the present, a creature of here and NOW and she knew very well that true love, whatever that meant, was an illusion. A fairytale for children and the weak-minded!
She had someone like that in mind...
Leaving the Diner she bumped into someone,
"HEY, watch where you're going dude!", she said, when she saw the priest of the town entering the diner.
The man didn't respond, only watched her with disgust.
"Do I have something in me?, asked the black woman.
"You have something very ugly inside of you!", Said the man.
"Watch your mouth!", said the woman angry but the man cut her.
"Is your boss inside?", he asked.
"Find out yourself jerk!", said the female and was about to leave when the man grabbed her.
"Leave me now!", she said boldly.
"Listen and listen carefully, the next time you're going to do something to Pamela I promise try to find a place to hide!", he said.
"HAHA So that's what's all about? The Bitch has the local priest as her lawyer?", the man grabbed her with more might.
"Leave me NOW!", screamed the woman who was also physically very strong and got out of his grasp.
"Next time you're playing with her, you're going to answer to me!", he said stoically, coldly and efficiently, "And you could learn one or two things from her... she's better than all of us in combine!", he finished his sentence and got inside the Diner.
Angela was angry but also taken aback by him.
Not because she was afraid... no, far she had dealt with far worse back in the town she grew up but she was curious. She thought that the princess had no friends, here.
Ever since they met, the black woman was annoyed by the other female. She hated how delicate, weak and actually fragile the other woman was. She had no nerve inside of her and people like that could make Angela truly MAD! Especially women, for in a world where women tried to win a fair treatment, people like Pamela destroyed their work.
A woman who only wants to be a dutiful wife and mother!
It made Angela disgusted, that way of thinking!
For God's Sake, they were getting to a new decade in a period shorter than 7 months and Pamela and every other Pamela cared for being pretty, a nice housewife and nothing more...
Even though she could admit that not having her around was a lot more boring than she thought it would be!
Then Angela was curious...
What did the Priest wanted Trudy?
A war was taking place inside of her, and the remaining of the Lady she never was told her to leave and watch her own business. However, the thug inside of her said otherwise.
In the end the thug was always going to win the battle!
She walked to the back of the shop and got inside by the back door. She entered the dirty kitchen and walked to the door. She could hear voices.
"This is too much for the junker you gave her. You take advantage of her innocence!", said the male voice full of anger.
"Listen Father William!", the older woman was calmer, "I respect the position you hold in the town, but i will not tolerate you making criticism to me, nor i will change my mind for Pamela! She is a grown woman and fully capable of paying me back. If she has a problem then she can find another junker and i will find someone else to rent my trailer. Am i clear... Sir?"
"She will not pay anything to you again!", said the priest.
"Then she will have to leave the next month...", she said but the man spoke about her.
"I will pay her rent!", said the male voice.
"Excuse me?", asked Trudy and Angela could see the surprise in her bosses tone.
"From next month i will pay for Pamela's rent and all you have to do is to stay silent and tell her that you take away the rent. Out of kindness, pity... i don't care, just don't make her feel worse than she already has. And for your silence i will pay you double? What do you say?", said the man.
"Why though? Why you do that?", said the woman.
"Listen miss Trudy, i make you that offer for i know your reputation as a smart woman that keeps her secrets! I have my reasons! Think what you want to do and think about it... Twice the rent for the trailer. You won't have an offer like that again! What's your answer?", said the man.
"Deal!", said the woman.
Angela went to leave but as she was heading to the door, she dropped a broom on the floor.
"FUCK!", she said.
"Who's there!", she heard Miss Trudy yelling and before she could understand what was happening she was out of the door and lost in the towns streets!
Pamela had just put Jason to sleep. She kissed his forehead after telling him his favourite fairy tale, Cinderella!
They had a routine. Every night she told him a different fairy tale she knew. Today was Cinderella's day. The woman huffed, Cinderella wasn't her favourite story but she often felt like that heroine! At least the first part of her story, the difficult part...
For the happy ending...
Seemed everyday more and more like a dream!
The woman was afraid that this part was difficult to obtain!
Her instinct for her future was dark to say the least! She didn't know why, but something told her that God had prepared a wicked game for her.
She shooked her head...
What was she thinking?
Was she a Sinner...
To think like that for her maker, the one who gave her life, The One Who Gave Her, Her Jason...
NO THAT WAS BLASPHEMY...
That was the devil, whispering into her ear.
She crossed herself with fear and regret,
"I am sorry Lord!"
She finished!
And then she heard knocking in her door. Her heart skipped a little... who could it be, especially at this hour?
She wore a blue nightgown and white socks. Putting on her light blue robe, she tied it tightly and went to open the door.
"Father William?", she asked confused and surprised.
The man was smiling at her. He didn't wore his usual outfit, he only wore black boots, pants and a black button-up-shirt.
"You seriously like Black!", she said not knowing how that was the first thing she got to say, but then shook her head, "What are you doing here? Did something happened?", she then asked worryingly.
The man jumped inside the trailer happily, "Is Jason sleeping?", asked the man.
"I just put him! What happened?", said the woman.
"Pamela, i've got the solution to your problem?", said the man and ecstatic and full of happiness! He was so lively, like a little kid.
Pamela felt Hope arising in her chest only by looking at him, "What do you mean?".
"I've FOUND YOU A JOB!", screamed the man from happiness.
"What?", said the woman not believing it and her face finally lighting after a lot of difficulties.
"Pam... It's a Good job as well!", said the man.
"Tell me!", the woman was holding herself from screaming out of happiness. She only thought of her Jason and didn't start to jump from happiness.
"Do you now about the Gold Family?", asked the man.
The woman nodded herself curiously, "A little... i know them only by name. Never actually seeing them...", said the woman.
The Golds, were the center of Gossip in their little town. They were Outsiders that moved in here, three years ago and never actually became a part of the community. No-one knew a lot of things about them.
They were rich... that was what everyone knew! Different! They lived in a huge mansion a little outside the town. They didn't bother anyone and no-one bothered them!
"Well they are two best friends from what i know who live in the 'Heaven Hidden in the Leaves'! That's how they actually call their mansion and they search for a nanny to take care of the child of one of them?", said Billy, "Ah and actually they're are French! They're gonna pay very much", he added.
Pamela run and hugged him tightly, "Thanks for everything!", she said.
He smiled, "So you are going to go and meet them?".
"Are you serious (her tone was jumping from playful to actually mocking) That may be a one time life chance!".
"Lovely!", said the man satisfied, "I'll talk to them tomorrow and then i am going to bring you in contact!".
Pamela looked at him!
"What?", he asked.
"Thank you! Truly...", the man grabbed her shoulder.
"If you really want to thank me then cook for me one of those wonderful meals of yours Pamela!", he added.
She just smiled grateful, "Don't worry and if i get the job you're never going to fear about food again!", she added.
"Mommy... Father William...?", said Jason and rubbed his eyes.
"You woke my love... sorry!", said the woman but the boy just looked at her and said.
"Mommy! Your face, it's the first time it's happy for a long time now!', the man watched little Jason. This boy never stopped to amaze him! You couldn't hide anything from him.
Before Pamela could respond, he grabbed the little creature and took him to his bed.
"It's very lateeee for BOYS your age! You're not a vampire!", said the Man and run with Jason in his hand to where the bed was, "Time for SLEEP!", screamed the priest and Jason screamed playfully!
Pamela just smiled and closed the door...
Today was a Long Day Indeed...
