Everyone was soon downstairs, seeing Cheryl lying down on the bed, looking almost completely lifeless.

"Cheryl!" Jayden cried out as he rushed over to her, but there was no answer at all.

"Rhe's under Maldor's spell…" Scooby frowned, whimpering.

"What are we gonna do?" Flim Flam asked.

"Yeah, how are we gonna wake her up?" Shaggy questioned.

"Shaggy, remember when Scooby woke me up by licking my face after you learned that only a kiss of a Great Danish prince could break the curse?" Daphne recalled.

"I remember! All Scooby has to do is lick her face and then the curse will be broken!"

"Exactly! Go ahead, Scooby."

Scooby then went over and gave Cheryl a lick on the face, but she didn't wake up. She didn't even move.

"Rwhat?"

"She-she didn't wake up…" Shaggy said.

"That can't be possible!" Daphne exclaimed. "There has to be another way."

They then tried other ways to wake her up for a few moments, but nothing was working, and Jayden started to panic.

"Cheryl please!" he cried. "Wake up! You're my best friend, what am I supposed to do without you?"

"You fools!" Maldor roared, suddenly appearing in front of them.

"Zoinks!" Shaggy shrieked.

"I changed the rules so you couldn't break the spell so easily this time!" the demon continued, "Now she'll be under the curse forever unless… you find a way to trap me in the chest which will never happen again!"

"Oh, is that so?" Asamad said.

"Looks like you're forgetting this," Vincent spoke, pulling out the Wonder Wand of Zadgraz from his cape.

"Vince, where did you get that from?" Flim Flam wondered.

"Apparently, after Maldor was released yet again from the chest, he took over Princess Esmerelda's castle again and claimed it as his own, and the wonder wand was hidden upstairs. I quickly found it there while the rest of you hurried down here to rescue Cheryl."

"Give me that wand NOW!" Maldor fumed at him.

"I'm afraid I can't do that."

Maldor then shot a blast of magic at him but Vincent used his powers to reflect it back at him. Soon, they were fighting each other, and the others were cheering for Vincent. Maldor had struck his dark magic right into Vincent's chest and he fell to the floor, before the others ran to him immediately since they were worried about him. Scooby growled at Maldor for what he had done to Vincent.

"Are you okay?" Daphne asked in concern, holding his arm and helping him back up.

"I'll be fine, don't worry," Vincent responded, and then he continued fighting Maldor.

Asamad pushed Maldor up against the wall, joining the fight and helping Vincent defeat him.

Vincent then tossed the wonder wand over to Scooby, and he and the others used the wand on Maldor, turning him into several different creatures, and soon, the fight continued to happen outside of the castle.

Jayden didn't want to leave Cheryl alone. But he knew he had to. When he started to turn around to join the others, he noticed something.

The red stain on the sheets. The same stain that Cheryl saw before she was put under the sleeping curse. He gasped at the sight of it.

"Why is that here?" he whispered to himself, "I should probably tell the others about this."

And with that, he quickly ran out of the room, leaving Cheryl by herself.

Meanwhile, Cheryl's mind was aware of the others begging for her to wake up before. She could hear the fighting that was happening outside. And yet, she couldn't move or open her eyes. She couldn't speak either.

It was as if her whole body was paralyzed in some way.

"Help! Somebody help me!" She tried to scream, but she could only scream in her head.

It was as if she was stuck there… forever...

"No," she swore to herself, "This is not the end. The rest of the gang will save me. They have to, right?"

But at the same time, she was rapidly losing hope. The only thing she could see was complete darkness…

The fight outside continued on for several hours. Asamad, Vincent, and Maldor were now all flying in mid air, and Asamad had spoken to Maldor again now.

"Admit it. You'll never win against me, and certainly not against us."

"Wrong!" Maldor replied, "I will defeat you! And I will get that wand. Even if it's the last thing I'll ever get to do!"

"Never!"

Asamad had struck a fireball at Maldor, and he fell straight down onto the ground immediately after it hit him hard like lightning. He grunted as he tried to stand up, but he was so weak that he could not.

"Asmodeus..." Maldor blurted weakly, bending over in agony, "I'm sorry. I should've never disrespected you."

Asamad came down to the ground and just stared at him for a moment, and Vincent came down to the ground a few seconds later.

"Oh, so now you decide to change your attitude towards me? Well, I'm not sure if I can forgive you," he said.

"Will you at least.. help me? Just this once?"

Asamad glanced back at the others behind him for a moment. Then, he turned around and looked at Maldor.

"Sorry," he responded at last, "But, you know that I cannot do that."

"What? Why not?"

"Because I'm on their side," the red ghost informed him, pointing to the group behind him.

"Why do you continue to be a traitor to me? To the rest of our fellow demons?" Maldor shouted, changing his attitude again.

"Don't act like you weren't a traitor to me first!" Asamad shot back, "What you and the others tried to do to me was unforgivable! I could never associate myself with any of you after that ever again!"

"Well, maybe you shouldn't have lost a battle to your own descendant! I mean, how do you even get defeated by someone who's descended from your bloodline?"

"He has inherited my powers," the red demon explained, "No other living creature besides him ever possessed or had ever proved to have the same skill of magic powers as I did." He then paused for a second. "I suppose you know where you're going to end up now?"

"What do you mean?" Maldor questioned.

"This. Velma, now!" Daphne shouted immediately before Velma grabbed the Chest Of Demons and pulled Maldor right into it, with the lid closing right after.

"One ghost down, 11 more to go," Flim Flam said proudly.

Everyone clapped, congratulating Velma on capturing the first ghost from the chest.

"Good work!" Daphne told her while she went to give her a hug, "I knew you could do it."

"Thanks Daph," she replied, hugging her back.

Then, she walked away and went up next to Asamad.

"I was wrong about ghosts," she admitted, "Look, I'm sorry again for letting the other 12 ghosts out of the chest. If you're still angry with me, I completely understand."

He then gave her a cold look for a moment, but then got rid of it as he started speaking.

"Listen, Velma," he began, "I'm not angry with you anymore."

"Really? You're not?"

"Of course not. I mean, I was angry with you before when we had our first encounter with each other, but I let my anger go shortly after. By the way, I figured out whose voices you heard that caused you to be tempted to open the chest."

"Who was it? How did you know who it was?"

"The voices that you heard that sounded like they were coming from the chest were the voices of the other 12 ghosts. They always have done this to the living. They whisper to them from inside the chest to convince the living to set them free. As I confirmed before, I was friends with them once. So, that's how I know they would do something like that. Also, I figured out that those 2 ghosts were able to warp your mind with their powers into believing that ghosts and magic weren't real, because they tricked Shaggy and Scooby a few years ago. By doing so, they caused you to have that awful, skeptical attitude with everyone which you have now, thankfully, abandoned. I suppose I didn't tell you this before since I didn't want to make you even more afraid than you were and have that be a distraction from capturing the first ghost."

"Jinkies! Was it really them all along? Wait, aren't those 2 ghosts named Bogel and Weerd?"

"Yes, and they are right there if you would like to confront them."

Velma then turned around to see Bogel and Weerd hiding behind a bush, looking at her.

"Dang it Asmodeus!" Weerd exclaimed, "We were gonna sneak up on her!"

"Yeah!" Bogel agreed, "Why'd you give up our hiding place?"

"You will not be sneaking up on her, not on my watch," Asamad stated, "Oh, and it's Asamad now, not Asmodeus. You will leave us alone."

He shot a fireball in their direction just to scare them off, purposely missing them. Both Bogel and Weerd screamed and ran away, disappearing into the forest.

"That'll keep them away for a while," he told her.

"Thanks Asamad," Velma said.

"My pleasure," he responded.

Everyone looked at Jayden as he now opened the door and ran outside, breathing heavily.

"Jayden, what's the matter?" Daphne questioned.

"I found a stain of blood on the sheets of Cheryl's bed," he blurted out.

"B-b-blood?" Shaggy stuttered.

"Yeah, but I don't know how it got there."

"Wouldn't Cheryl be awake by now since we captured Maldor? He said she wouldn't wake up until we captured him," Flim Flam reminded everyone.

"He did say that," Vincent acknowledged.

"Well then we have to go get her!" Jayden said, running back up the stairs as everyone else followed him.

Cheryl bolted awake, gasping for air and crying a little bit. She still couldn't fully believe she was awake yet for a second.

"I'm awake! Oh my gosh, I'm awake and I'm okay and I'm alive!" she exclaimed, looking at her hands and then around the room, glad that she could see, move, and speak again.

She heard the others as they were running up the stairs, calling her name. There was no doubt that she was full of joy upon knowing that they came back for her.

All that mattered now was that she was okay, and that she'd be able to see her friends again.
