The first 3 chapters will be focused on the main character arriving in the world and how he changed a couple of things. The next 2 chapters would be about how he altered some small things through the time until the present. Afterward, it would focus on the modern time of the year 290s.
Some type of car hit me I think. Everything was really dizzy and I felt really lightheaded. I could feel the blood on my hand, it felt really warm but everything felt cold at the same time. Soon my vision started to leave me and I was encompassed by nothing.
I awake in some…place. The best I could describe it was empty. Like when you close your eyes. It's not black or dark, it just… nothing.
Soon an entity appeared before me. It was hard to describe because its form kept on changing and my head was starting to have a headache just staring at him.
It didn't open its mouth but spoke nonetheless.
"Hey kid, you want to live again with reality-altering powers."
Many thoughts started entering my mind but one was prevalent.
"Why? Why are you doing this? Why are you giving me this power of yours?"
"I'm dying, and I would rather this power be passed off to someone than be lost forever."
"So you're just going to give me this power?"
"Pretty much… It's up to you if you use it or not. I just didn't want this power going away."
"So if you are basically a god, why are you dying?"
"Well at one point I just had enough and I accidentally started a process to erase myself that now can't be reversed."
"Huh, do you regret it?"
"Kinda yeah, but it's too late now either way."
"But why me?"
"Sorry if you were selected for this purposely. You were just the first person that came to mind."
"So you just picked me at random?"
"Pretty much, it is incredibly hard to pick someone up from another dimension even for me. To find out more about the person you're bringing along is even harder. "
A lot of this is happening so fast, though something was starting to concern me.
"Why am I so calm?"
"That's my doing, don't worry it isn't permanent. We just don't have a lot of time before I fade.
How much time do we have?"
"Like 3 hours…"
"What?!"
"Why do you have so little time?", I continue.
"Well, I had a few years but I kept pushing it back until the deadline basically."
Not that I am one to complain considering I'm a procrastinator as well, and I have done the same thing in the past.
"Don't worry though that'll be enough for you to learn the basics as well as use some presets I made for you."
"Presets?"
"Basically, I'm going to give your brain a shortcut so you have an easier time making a preset amount of things. It'll make things easier until you understand how to use your newfound abilities."
He then continued," So, anything you specifically want?"
"So any objects?", I reply in kind.
"Totally, go for it"
"This might take a while…"
"If this wasn't so dire I would let you take the time you need. But we don't have that much time left."
Thinking back I don't know much about anything, every time I needed to know something I mostly just googled it.
"So can I have a copy of the internet in my mind?"
"Sure."
A thought came to my mind that made me almost regret it immediately.
"Wait, won't that overload my mind or something, it's not like I'm a super genius now that can process tons of information.."
"Firstly that's not how a brain works and secondly, while you are far from a genius, it shouldn't matter, the information will be connected to you via a type of tunnel in your mindscape. After which you will be given something similar to a search bar."
Nice, I always wanted to google things in my mind, this is kinda sweet. Now for the ultimate question.
"Can I make matter?"
"Yes, but you have to have a firm understanding of String Theory if you actually want to do that… I can give you a preset of the different elements though. I'll also add the ability to add to the presets, so you may produce other things. Like water for instance."
Cool, my very own copy and paste button for reality.
"How can I create matter though?"
"It's really complicated, well at least for you, but it has to do with superpositions of particles along with something to do with Schrodinger's Cat and the Observation effect and a few other concepts from String Theory and Quantum mechanics. Nothing you need to be concerned with."
"Thanks."
"What about space or storage? Can you make a preset to store things somewhere?"
"I don't have to, your mindscape should be able to do it."
"So how would I do it?"
"Just think about doing it and it happens, usually, you will feel some type of trigger or feeling when the item is stored."
"Can I do magic?"
"No, while magic does exist in your upcoming world it is the antithesis of everything you are. You will feel uncomfortable when in the presence of it and will often receive headaches when trying to understand it."
Well, there goes my dreams. Of being God Emperor
"That being said, advanced science is often indistinguishable from magic, is it not?"
"I guess so."
God Emperor is back on the table boys.
"So does this mean I can't teleport?"
"Not quite. You can displace yourself and any object you want. You just have to know the distance and direction. It's not really teleporting the manner you think it is."
"I'm just going to call that teleporting."
"Fair enough"
Now for the big question. Why should I do things when other people can do them for me.
"Hey, can I have a preset to make some of my own people?"
"Done, here it is".
Suddenly a new link forms in my mind, as I delve into it an interface-like thought appears in my head.
So this is basically a character creator.
Different models appear with different traits to add. I'm definitely going to mess with this later.
Thinking back on history and how many Nations fell. I come out with another question.
"Will they always be loyal?"
"Don't worry they'll be completely loyal. You will have to alter the person itself to remove the loyal trait."
"Cool…"
"… You're just thinking of treating this as a 4x game like Civ or something aren't you?"
"…"
"…"
"Not always…"
"You do realize that they are just games? Games and reality are two different things. You aren't a master tactician because you play Total War."
"Yeah, but they hold some truth to them…"
He just stares at me with a blank look.
"Really?...", he finally speaks.
…
…
…
After the deafening silence I speak again, "What If I die?".
"While your physical body could somehow be destroyed, your mind won't."
"So if I die I'll be like a ghost?"
"No, you'll just have to think of the preset of your body and a location and you'll be set. In fact, you don't even need to eat, and you only need to defecate if you eat something."
"So I'll be immortal forever?"
"Nah, you could just decide to stop existing whenever you want. "
"It seems we're running out of time. I'm just quickly going to go over a few different things for you."
"You will have the ability to scan the area. There are many different depths to the scan however I recommend starting at the lighter ones since they are easier to do and are less prone to cause headaches. The range itself depends on how much depth your brain could handle."
I started to feel something, it felt like want or desire but closely compacted in my brain
"This feeling you feel now, concentrate on it. For that's how you activate it.
I focused on it and I started to sense not a lot but I could at least detect the air molecules in this landscape of nothingness.
About 10km, it's not bad.
To skip time just try to mediate in your mindscape while concentrating on the thought of skipping time.
I would let you use it to practice but as you know we don't have too much time.
One last thing you could also fly by just imagining you are, but instead of focusing on that try to displace or teleport yourself 100 meters directly from you. Just imagine 100 meters in the direction and go.
Good now, let's practice that a little more for the few minutes remaining."
Despite almost being there for 3 hours, it feels like it's been a few minutes or a few years. Everything moves so slow yet so fast. It's hard to explain.
The entity started to fracture and fade.
"So, it seems this is the end."
"So thanks for everything, Do you want me to do something for you?"
"Nah everything is good, good luck on your adventure, just be sure to pass the power along before you want to end yourself."
"I could do that."
"Nice."
"…"
"…"
"So what's your name?"
"I've been called many names over the years, to the point I actually forgot it."
Before he could continue he shattered.
Then the nothingness consumed me a second time as I awoke nude in some grassy area by some type of shore. While it was a little cold, it wasn't completely freezing.
Applying my newfound abilities, I decided to just scan the area and I got an inkling of where I was.
Dropping everything that I was planning on doing and scanned again.
But to be sure I repeated the process, again and again…With me teleporting or displacing me to various places.
Familiarity started to enter my mind as I started to recognize some of the continent's shapes.
If this is where I think it is then this must be Westeros. Only there were a few differences that I could tell.
While the shape of the continent is very much like Westeros, none of its famous landmarks are here with the exception of a few.
There's no 5 km Ice Wall.
There was no Storm Ends, Hightower, Winterfell, or Casterly Rock
However, from what I could see there was a large mountain that would probably become Casterly Rock one day. While there was no Hightower there the black stone serving as its base was already there. The Eyrie in the Vale seems to be in the process of construction, due to all the people moving into that area.
There were also no large cities, just small towns everywhere.
That's not even accounting for those weirwood trees that were everywhere, which made me slightly uncomfortable with the possibility of the three-eyed raven watching me.
Since the Wall in the North isn't constructed yet the First Men are therefore can infer that it is between 8,000-12,000 years before the events of the book.
Considering that 12,000 years ago the First Men arrived and 8,000 years before the book the Bran the Builder founded House Stark.
Along with me going on my teleporting spree I also made a copy of a couple of basic things like rocks, gravel, sand, freshwater, and things of that nature that would mostly help me in the future.
After a few hours of collecting and sightseeing, I think it's time for me to finally get decent. It then occurred to me that even though I practically have the power of a god, I could do anything that I want. And know that there's nothing that could threaten me.
I don't know how to make pants… or any clothes.
Thank me for the power of mindscape google.
Things just turned even worse. I didn't see any cotton so far… And even though I could basically respawn any time I need to, I still don't want to risk it trying to kill a bear or even a deer. In case you're not aware, dying is quite painful. And how am I supposed to kill them either way with a sharpened stick?
So here goes plan #2. Go to some village hoping they don't use me as a blood sacrifice or kill me and use my power to make some copper to hopefully trade in for some clothes. I know for sure that the Northerners had access to copper at this time since I have even seen them use it in the Eyrie so I should be good. As long as they don't think I'm a thief, though if things get dicey I could just teleport away.
Here we go…I covered myself in some leaves to have a shred of dignity and proceed to the village.
As I approached the nearest village in what would eventually become the Westerland and some man started to approach me with some sort of wooden spear and started to speak I quickly realized something. I don't know how to speak the old tongue.
Things couldn't get worse. It doesn't sound like any language I have heard before. It sounded hard and cold, though that might have more to do with the tone of the man speaking before me.
Perhaps if he thinks I'm a mute things will go better. It didn't go better.
As the man got tired of my silence, he proceeds to raise his spear which I decide to just say screw it and teleport away. I really hope that it doesn't screw anything in the future.
Either way, it appears that I arrived during or before the age of heroes considering how none of the buildings that were supposed to be constructed are here. So that means I got some time to myself and have some fun.
Besides It'd be pretty boring just conquering the world, I'm going to need some good old drama. But first I want to keep the world mostly the same for the events of the book, that way I'll also be able to accurately predict the future.
Besides if I don't like how it went I could just start over, what're a few more millennia. I could always sleep it off and start again.
Now to build my little area with my people just to relax in the meantime and let everyone else deal with problems.
And to do that I'll go West of Westeros. Where will I go? Will I appear in the East or somewhere else? Time to find out.
Turns out that west of Westeros is nothing, just a huge amount of water. After teleporting in intervals of 100 km I couldn't find anything after half an hour of doing this. I'm effectively in the middle of nowhere. Though it's not a bad place to be undisturbed. After moving a bit closer to Westeros I start my little project to make my own little Island away from everything else.
I'll start by dumping rocks and gravel within a radius of 10 km around me. Forming an outline for an almost perfect circle. How long could it possibly take?
…
After a few hours of dumping a couple of tons of stone at a time, to make sure I don't accidentally cause a tsunami, things didn't look too different. The Ocean just swallowed it up. After scanning the Ocean to see how deep it could go nothing came up. My scan range is 10 km. How deep is this ocean?!
Eventually, a thought came to my mind…
What if I just leave the area while my power activates every half a minute? Kinda like a program running in the background. I'll just use the power subconsciously, kinda like breathing and after moving away a few kilometers it worked.
Now to find something to do in the meantime.
While thinking of something to do my thought brought me back to what just happened and allowed me to reflect on all that has happened and will possibly happen. No matter how much I wouldn't like to admit it, my mind is different. I feel less ashamed, more confident, and less worried… it felt weird but now is not the time to focus on this.
As I was brought away from my thoughts it was already morning. Was I really here for so long?
When I scanned again I could finally sense the new bottom. The floor was now only 3 km below me now. As it nearly finished piling up on the outline I started the next phase of the plan.
Now all I had to do was repeat the process by adding sand inside of the outline to fill it up. Technically I was supposed to remove the water first but,
1. I have no idea how to do that and
2. I'm incredibly lazy.
Besides, the water would eventually leave by the displacement of water and sand, causing the salt water to overflow and leave the enclosure. All I had to do then was place some dirt on top of it while leaving some places for the water to flow into in case of flooding and the like and the Island would finally have been complete.
I ended up making the Island 10 meters above sea level, which is mostly to protect it from waves and outside forces.
To make the Island more alive I decided to go back to Westeros to plant some grass, and a few non-weirwood trees. Water it and make a mini lake in the middle.
With a 10 km radius, the size of my little island is around 315 km^2, which is a little smaller than Westeros's size of about 12,000,000km^2. It doesn't matter it'll be enough for me
Assuming the grass spreads around 1-3 cm per week it'll take quite a while for the island to be covered in grass. I could always time-skip but I wanted to do a few things first. Those things were me going and finding different things to make a copy of… which surprisingly included food. Which caused me to find some farmer's berry garden making a few copies of his berries.
After planting the seeds and not really fearing for the safety of the seeds due to the lack of birds and animals I finally decided to do a small time skip.
Concentrating on skipping time in my mindscape I was able to do it briefly. Before opening my eyes.
I don't know for sure how long I was skipping but judging by the amount of grass that has grown I would say about 3 to 9 months, which isn't bad. Most of the island is still barren but the plants seem to be doing alright. The berry bush had begun to sprout but it would still take at least another year or two for them to mature.
The structure of the island is also okay. I was worried that due to the flow of water the island would sink a bit but that doesn't seem to be an issue. At least for now. I couldn't be too sure it's only been a few months after all. There's no telling if it could last years how it currently is.
Now it's time for me to make my own person and let him do all the work while I end up relaxing.
Open the Character Preset I was met with the character creator.
I ended up making a young male with Golden eyes, as a way to easily identify him but mostly because it looked really cool. Along with some brown hair.
Skin color doesn't really matter in the long run since it's just how much melanin the person has. The skin would just adapt to the surroundings after a few generations. But since it's mostly foggy and cold due to it being in the middle of the Ocean I decided to give him lightish skin.
After being done with the appearance I moved on to his traits. And proceeded to give him almost every positive trait I could find.
I felt bad making his personality since he should form it himself, but it would help him and by extension me in the future.
I ended up giving him most of the positive traits that don't conflict with each other. Those being diligent, just, brave, gregarious, temperate, compassionate, and trusting traits. I'm surprised that it even let me give him all of those.
While I didn't know what they exactly did, my experience with a certain game gave me an idea.
I didn't need him to have all of these traits, but I wanted to I guess.
For passed down traits I gave him fecund, beautiful, genius, and herculean.
His other traits that are categorized in the "other traits" section of the character creator would be athletic and strong.
For all intents and purposes, he would be the perfect human. The first of many.
Now to create my first person. What could possibly go wrong?
A humanoid entity appeared standing before him, shortly before falling to the floor and… crying…
It appears that since he has no memories, he now behaves like a newborn?
Great
"Hello there, you okay little buddy?"
After trying to get its attention it stops before looking at me. After about half an hour of trying to talk to him, he started to finally understand me… at least I think so.
A while after that he started to talk and even stand up.
It was kinda scary how intelligent it was for something that was created like an hour ago.
A few minutes later he started speaking...
"Hello there", the creation said in a small voice.
Well, that was relatively quick.
"Who are you?", He spoke again.
Damm what do I call myself, a new life needs a new name. And I can't figure out a good name for myself yet… Time to bullshit.
"You will know me in time".
Please buy that.
He slowly nods at me. Before speaking once again.
" Who am I?"
What do I call you? I'm definitely not calling you Horus that for sure.
The name of my first creation has got to be something special. I was thinking along the lines of a name that sounds like it was designed to rule yet sounded ancient. After quickly thinking over a few names. I came up with Lorin, based on the Laurel leaves that the Roman Emperors and champions of Greece used to crown themselves with to celebrate triumph.
"You, my creation, are called Lorin".
He nods again
After talking to him for another hour it was clear that he was for all intents and purposes a genius, at least when it comes to languages.
My plans are now back on track. All I have to do now is find some clothes and make him learn some of the Old Tongue and I can continue on with my plans.
Normally I would be screwed but mindscape google came in clutch once again.
"Hey wanna go on an adventure?".
He seemed a bit surprised before speaking," Yeah, sure".
I proceed to grab his arm and teleport both of us to Westeros.
The nearest village would be 7 kilometers from here which would give me enough time to do what I want to do.
"Where are we, how did you do that", he starts again.
"We are here for your great journey, as for how I did that, I'm afraid it's too complicated for you. Perhaps in time I will reveal it to you when you are ready", I say lying through my teeth.
"Now for your first task"
"You must kill an animal of sufficient size, skin it, and make clothes."
"I understand", he said with a frown.
I wonder if his frown is because of the compassionate trait.
"First you must grab that large stick and sharpen it using that rock. But first you're going to need a fire".
By increasing the speed of the atoms in a nearby tree I manage to create a fire.
"Put the tip of the stick in the fire for a bit"
He looked surprised but didn't say anything and followed my directive.
While he's doing this I put some water around the fire to make sure the fire won't spread and continue.
Now to move on to step 2, of how to sharpen a stick. After a brief introduction to what degrees are, I continue.
"So you're going to want to put the stick in 30 degrees like this and rub it with the rock. To make it sharper, put the tip in the fire and repeat until it's as sharp as you wish".
After a few more minutes. The spear is done, I put out the fire and teleport once again to find something to hunt.
On the way to find the elk, I managed to trace, I spoke to him again, relaying all the information about hunting I could from the mindscape internet. With him practicing on throwing sticks he found on our way there.
When we arrived the elk didn't notice us and instead continued on with the grass.
My new companion when he was ready then threw the spear… and he managed to hit it. The spear hit the elk by its side but it didn't stop it from running.
My partner apologized multiple times, even though I stated he didn't have to.
It didn't matter that he didn't kill it on the spot, it would eventually bleed out and we could just teleport to collect it. A human tale as old as time. Though the elk was impressive as it managed to run 9 km, almost out of my range, before dying of blood loss.
After collecting it along with some wood we teleported back to our little base and proceeded to skin it and cook it. Well, he did. I just told him the steps on how to do it and he followed them perfectly. Even managing to salt some of the meat that he wasn't planning on eating. Speaking of eating.
"Why aren't you going to eat?". He spoke.
" I don't need to", I replied.
"Why not?",
"I'm.. special, don't worry you'll eventually figure it out".
I continued, "Just eat and go to sleep, I'll take care of everything else.
After he ate and eventually went to sleep on the cold ground I went to gather a few more things that would be useful in the fabrication of clothes. Mostly plants.
After collecting them and bringing them back to our new home. I will start searching for where I can find some wildlife to add to the island when it eventually becomes bigger.
By morning I teleport back and he's wide awake, finishing salting the meat.
"Time for your next task",
He looked at me before nodding his head. His communication is coming along quite nicely.
"Now you're going to be learning how to make clothes, let's first start with pants".
I proceeded to give him all the information and step by step on how to do it and it worked really well once again. The elk and plants I bought were more than enough for 2 sets of clothing. Then again the deer was quite large.
After finally getting dressed we continued on with the last part of my plan. Learning the Old Tongue.
All I had to do was bring him to some more or less hospitable village along with some of the deer to sell, and hopefully pick up some of the local language.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?"
"Totally"
"But weren't you attacked last time"
"It was probably a misunderstanding"
"But what if I don't understand the language?"
"We'll figure it out from there"
"...Okay fine let's do this."
And just like that, we were off.
This time we went somewhere in what would one day become the Reach. Since it was where there were the most villages we could learn from. Probably due to what is likely to be the first King living there, Garth Greenhand.
And just like that, we went to a village. The village, if one could really call it that, was very similar to the one I encountered in the Westerlands. Probably because the culture is still relatively the same.
As we entered a village, this time with me not looking like a complete degenerate, no one paid that much attention to us. Soon we approached what seemed to be a type of inn or tavern. I decided to let him handle the talking.
After a few minutes, with the owner clearly losing his patience. He finally spoke up, I had no idea what he was saying but it seemed to calm down the guy. Perhaps it also had to do with his high charisma, not that I wouldn't complain.
After talking with him a bit he managed to sell half of the elk that we brought for a couple of coppers. I feel like we got ripped off but I have no idea how this economy works. He says something to the owner and then gestures to me to leave with him.
I followed his lead.
"So how was it?", I start.
"Please don't do this to me again, that was incredibly stressful."
"Don't worry there's only one language of Westeros and that is Old Tongue." At Least for now.
"If there's only one language of Westeros, how come you're speaking another one right now."
"You've answered the question, it's not a Westorosi language",
"Then what language is it"
"It's a language from a place far far away."
"Worry not, I'll tell you in due time."
"You say that a lot."
"You need not worry, I'll tell you soon. Anyways, what did you learn?"
"Just the basics."
"Hello, goodbye, copper, the number 3 and a few sentences here and there. Most of what he said I still don't understand."
"Let's continue to improve your understanding a bit"
We continued on our quest to learn the Old Tongue and even managed to buy a bow with a few arrows. This will definitely come in handy later.
While his Old Tongue is far from perfect, it was now passable at least.
We returned to our Stronghold, using the remaining elk that we had there as food. And proceeded to build makeshift beds. The next day we mostly spent the entire day hunting for food, with me locating the animals teleporting there, killing them then returning home to take care of them.
The next day he skinned the animals and salted them before he started working on making clothes. While I worked on expanding our island by dropping stones and rocks to form the new outline.
"Why do we need so much food and hide?"
"I'm only one person and you don't need to eat"
"Are you planning on feeding a small village?"
"Not quite, I'm planning on starting a small village"
"You're bringing other people here?"
"Nope I'm going to make them"
He just stares at me dumbfounded
"How?"
"I'm practically a God that comes from another dimension, that's also why the language is different."
"What's a God?"
"Someone very powerful that creates things from nothing, you'll find more about what it means the more you know about the world."
"Anyways you're going to have to teach them the basics of speaking this language, Old Tongue, and crafting the basics. Will you be able to do that?"
"Yes, however, it's going to take quite some time."
"Don't worry you have plenty."
As I went back to my character Creator Preset to make new characters. I started to wonder what the next character I would make should be.
I'm going to have to make 16 of them. Their traits are going to be the same as my first creation, with a few changes to their personalities, though none of them negative. There were going to be slight differences in height, gender, size, skin color, hair color, and the like to make the genetics a bit different. The last thing I need is the genetics to be the same, that would cause so many problems down the line. I decided to keep the golden eyes and most of the population had brown hair. Mostly because I just kinda wanted that to be what the typical inhabitant would look like.
The Targaryens have purple eyes and white hair, the Lannisters have blonde hair, and every Great House has a discerning trait and I wanted that too.
And now to spawn them in and let other people deal with problems.
It took less than a second after I spawned them that they started crying, luckily this time I have someone to take care of it for me.
He proceeded to look at me with nothing but despair behind his eyes as he started his task.
As he was busy doing that I was filling my new outline. It managed to increase the island's size by about 50%, which while good, wasn't good enough.
After which I started to wonder what laws I should have in my small village. I decided for the laws to follow the revolutionary doctrine of not being an asshole. Which is and will be considered outlandish in Westeros for at least the next 8,000 years.
While modern law wouldn't work in Westeros or anywhere on this planet, with the possible exception of places like the iron banks. Since the people here are learning from scratch it was possible for it to exist in some way here.
I did add an extra law of sharing technology or things you discovered with other nations to be illegal. Last thing I want is the other great houses to discover things like guns.
For the government, it was obviously going to be a type of Monarchy or Imperium. After all, I made the island and everyone else in it, so it would make some sense for me to rule it. However, I have no idea how to actually rule it so the actual rulers would be my trusted creations.
The introduction of the Government and laws went without a hitch. Everyone just nodded in understanding. Normally I would be afraid if they would still be loyal, but the Character Creation assured me otherwise. Besides, if I die I could just come back.
After our new residents were more or less acquainted with me and each other. I had them start crafting clothes, while I started teleporting trees into the new area on the island. I didn't even have to cut them since the displacement teleport thingy just did it for me as all I had to do was make it so I only teleport the top half of the tree.
By the end of the day, I cleared a sizable amount of the forest. As I returned home. In the new area I recently made, I teleported all of the trees. I proceeded to add some stones as well as metal such as iron and copper. This area would be the resource dump. If they needed some raw resources all they had to do was come here.
The next day was a hunting day this time with a couple of new faces. One Laurence and one Laura proceeded to join our hunting.
In the middle of our journey, I decided to find some plants to possibly plant so we would have a constant food supply.
We found many farms which could contain any of the following wheat, carrots, peas, grapes, and onions. With wheat being the most valuable for long-term storage, I decided to take a few wheat crops from a few different farmers to start my little own farm back on the Island.
When I arrived I decided to assign roles to the 17 people in my village. First ask if anyone was interested in doing any roles before assigning them, people.
It turns out that everyone was interested in every role which made it kinda easier for me.
I assigned the first as the manager to make sure everything was being handled smoothly. Afterward, I assigned someone as a blacksmith.
1 became a blacksmith
3 became fishers
3 became farmers, when they are finished with their farming they would help either the builders or crafters.
3 became builders
3 became crafters/gatherers, they would collect material and then proceed to craft.
3 became stockmen (people that care for animals) and when needed hunters
With Lorin already knowing how to manage I moved on to the next occupation. Which was quite easy to take care of, thanks to the power of the internet.
Normally you would make the forge out of a type of brick or stone. But since I wanted it to be durable and because I can, I decided to give the guy bricks of pure tungsten to make the forge. Due to tungsten's melting point being the highest out of any element it could last a very very long time. After designing the forge and adding the rest of the material. The forge was practically done. All it needed now was a hammer and an anvil. I wonder what village might have them. But before I could do anything my thoughts were interrupted.
"Don't worry about the hammer, I'll just melt some metal in, pouring it into a template I could make on the ground."
"Thanks, that saves some time, if you need more metal just ask, umm"
"Lorenz and will do", the man states before continuing on with his work.
What's with all these names? They all sound super similar.
Afterward, I moved on to the farmers, which were already taking care of the field.
"How did you know how to do that"
"Laura told me this was how the farmers in Westeros are doing it, Am I doing it wrong?
"No, you're doing it perfectly"
"Just don't forget to water it"
"Will do"
Well, that was fast.
For the crafters, I described to them how to make spears, bows, clothing, fishing nets, fishing rods, and a few other items which may become more useful like buckets. They took in all the information with no problem and moved to their task quickly with the new manager telling them what needs to be the priority.
For the builders, I told them about the foundation of a building, proper insulation, airflow, and a bit of structural integrity, which was mostly me reading word by word some physics book I found.
The stockman/hunters were already making multiple fence enclosures that each would occupy around 500 meters. This along with the resource dump area and farms occupied most of the island. With the rest being soon occupied by the forge, crafters area, and the new home being constructed.
They had enough food for about a week and a half. Which meant that I could now focus on relaxing while everyone else does the hard labor. After mapping out a new area to expand the island I repeated the process. This time however I was using my mindscape to watch movies and tv shows while subconsciously making then filling the outline. It was a lot easier than I thought it was.
After repeating the process for a week and binging more shows than was humanly possible. I decided to check up on the process and it was looking good. Although a bit barren. The Island has increased in size by around 300%
One of the houses has all of its frames in place and is even outfitted with some already outfitted with some beds, tables, and chairs. Although it was missing a few windows. Though that would be my fault since I didn't tell them how to make them.
They even managed to start fishing, although it appears they caught close to nothing. Which again is probably my fault for my latest expansion of the Island scaring the fish, at least until the dust settles.
The village was now in the midst of finally becoming self-reliant. Just needed the grass to grow a bit more and to bring some animals back.
I thought about explaining more physics to them and by that, I mean reading directly from the book. And if they ask me a question I would say something vague along the lines of 'finding the truth will be part of your journey, since I actually didn't know.
There was just one problem, I don't know if things like gravity are the same here…
Since this is a different world it is extremely probable that gravity is different than my previous world. I would need to figure that out first before giving them more info.
While my people know how to read the Old Tongue they still don't understand the runes that the First Man uses. It wouldn't be outlandish if someone doesn't know how to write and read however it would be expected of a Lord to know.
And for this, I'm going to need my favorite manager.
I'll go with the hunting party for the next few days gathering food to both to sell and to store for consumption. So my guy could get some type of education.
After the first day of hunting, we were going to bring 3 deer to sell to the nearest village as Lorin started looking for someone to tutor him.
And to my shock, after he went asking around, someone accepted to teach him some runes in exchange for some deer meat. After gladly accepting the offer and sending him to learn while we sell the 2 remaining deer. We headed back home before I later came and picked him up. The rest of the week went very similar. However with very little selling.
Instead, it was mostly hunting every few days before adding more land to the island.
Due to all this excess of meat and resources, I created another 10 people.
With Lorin and the residents naming them.
I had 2 of the newly created join in expanding the farm and had the other eight focus on building to increase the speed of construction and then add a few different things. Like a water tank, bath house, and a public washroom. This was mostly to increase sanitation and for people to become cleaner. Although it was not really required.
After Lorin spent a solid week with the guy he had learned the basics of runes which was good enough for me.
Now to make a House name and words.
For the name, I was thinking of House Lorin. Not creative I know, but I can't find another name I like.
As for the King of the house, it was obviously going to be Lorin. While I do all the fun things through him.
After all, a wise man once said why be a King when you can be a God.
Now, what should my house's words be? A single phrase appeared in my mind.
"Only In Death Does Duty End."
Took that straight from Warhammer 40k, but those words just sound cool as hell. And besides, it is not like anyone will ever know. It also kinda fits with his dutiful nature.
For the symbol, I was thinking of something related to gold and monarchy. A few things came to mind. A golden sword or spear, perhaps a golden crown?
Due to the connection between Laurel and crowns, I decided to go with the Golden Crown with a blue background. Mostly because blue and yellow complement each other.
Now to build our reputation, renown, and influence. For this, I'm going to need a stable house, and what better house to back us up than House Stark. They've managed to maintain their territory for 8,000 years and are known for their Just nature. Besides, none of the other houses are even formed yet.
Since House Stark is poised to win the North anyway it wouldn't do any harm to help them along with it. Still, I have to be careful because of the butterfly effect. Things would mostly play out the same and if somehow things don't I'll just find a way to 'correct it'.
In addition, I plan to rewrite history a bit so it could be said that The First Men were aided by some Lorin King to assist Gareth Greenhand to Westeros through the arm of Dorne. I don't know how to do that though so I'll just instruct some of my people back at home to start finding ways to do it. They're smart enough to figure something out.
Maybe if I can control the Citadel I'll be able to do it?
I plan on doing the same thing to the Andals and being the reason why The Rhyonar had ships and arrived. Then I'll be working on smaller things like having someone from the Lorin dynasty also help found the Citadel, which would help me gather information later. And lastly, adding 'lost artifacts' belonging to me from a 'bygone age' really brings up the mystique. If my guys are successful then every Great House bar the Greyjoys and the Tully's will have their connection to my small little Nation. The latter is due to them being relatively 'new'.
While I wasn't there when the First Men came, who would really know that in a few thousand years.
Things are coming along just as planned.
Hoped you liked it so far. This chapter and the few next couple of ones are just introductions. Feel free to comment. Make recommendations and the like. Until next time.
