Dr. Spencer Reid was only an alias. One of many faces he's worn over the years. Spencer Winchester was his real name. He was the younger brother of Dean Winchester and the older brother to Sam. He had been raised in much the same way as many other hunter children: on the road, never in one place for long.
He had gone on his first hunt at age 14, but he'd known about monsters for as long as he could remember. "Protect Sammy," and "Shoot first, ask questions later," was all he had known growing up. His father was incredibly absent and a drunk, so Dean was left to raise him and Sammy, despite being only two years older than Spencer, and four years older than Sam.
Spencer graduated high school at age 12, and went to college online as he and his family travelled. After gaining three BAs and two PHDs, he began working for the FBI's Behavioural Analysis Unit, or the BAU, at 23. Sam had gone off to college at Stanford three years before, and Dean had chosen to stay with their father.
Now, at age 26, Spencer had begun a battle with addiction, found a family within his team, lost his father, and successfully hidden his past from everyone in his life, while occasionally joining his brothers on hunts.
