Argus Limited (Jaune, Indigo, Violet)

Violet: Oh, I can't wait to see everyone again!

Indigo: It's been a while, hasn't it? It's going to be nice.

Jaune: Yeah, but until we're actually in Argus, just relax and behave, alright? I don't want either of you getting us kicked off the train for misbehaving.

Indigo: "Either of you", he says…

Violet: They wouldn't do that! …Would they?

Jaune: Who knows? But, if you're a good girl, you won't have to learn the hard way.

It took quite a while for Jaune to get back home to Wind Path. Then almost just as suddenly, he and his family were on a train to Argus. He barely had a chance to rest during his summer vacation so far. Which was quite ironic. He took the train ride to try and rest. He rested his head against the back of his chair, eyes closed. He was wearing a pair of headphones, trying to drown out the rest of the train car.

Being home had been quite hectic. Even if only three of his seven sisters lived at home, there were still five other people in his house around him 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. His younger sisters had barely given him a chance to take it easy. Jaune had no idea how they had so much energy, when they were just freed from school for summer vacation themselves. Didn't they just want to sit around and do nothing for a while?

"Hey! Hey Jaune!"

He didn't respond. He doubted that he'd get much rest once they got off the train, so he needed to make the most of this down time while it lasted.

"Hey…!"

Violet. He loved the girl to death, but why was she calling his name? Wasn't it obvious that he was trying to sleep? He cracked an eye and glanced over. Her arms were crossed and she was pouting. Jaune sighed. She knew how to play him like a fiddle. The worst part is that she probably didn't even know what she was doing.

"What's up, Violet?"

"I wanted to hear more stories about those girls you like!"

Jaune could hear the gears in his head grinding and gnashing. While browsing the internet, he had heard the terrible sound of old internet modems, and that sound was playing in his head as he tried to process whatever his sister had just said to him.

"What? 'Girls'? Why 'girls'?"

"The two red girls! You talk about them all the time! You have to like one of them! …Maybe both!"

"Wait wait wait wait wait. Are you talking about Pyrrha and Ruby? I don't like either of them. …At least I don't think. They're just my friends." Violet raised a brow at her brother. Such fierce denial would probably make someone her age just think he liked them even more than she already did.

"Isn't Pyrrha from Argus?"

"She… did mention that, when I told my teammates I'd be going there for a family trip."

"So you're going to sneak off at some point to go on a date with her?"

"Violet, leave Jaune alone. He didn't do anything to you." A bespectacled girl was sitting with them, immersed in a book. She was barely paying attention to them.

"I'll just tease you about your crushes instead, Indigo!"

"And I'll turn it right back on you." Indigo lifted her book to cover her reddening face. "Would you like that?" Violet pouted again and turned away from her sister. "That's what I thought."

"Don't you girls have too much homework to be worrying about crushes?" An older man walked down the aisle, passing the three of them. He shared the same blonde hair as Jaune and both of his sisters, but his eyes were a dark green. "You did bring your homework with you, right?"

"Maybe…" Violet said.

"Indigo?"

"I brought it for her dad, don't worry."

"Good," he said, "Now, we should be Argus in about an hour or so, I'm pretty sure. Saphron and Terra should be waiting to pick us up when we arrive."

"I feel like it's been so long since we've seen them all!" Violet shot her hands into the air and stretched out her legs. "I mean, when was the last time Scarlet was home?!"

"That is a fantastic question." Their dad walked back to his seat, not addressing Violet's question at all.

"You're not getting away, Jaune," Violet said, "I'm going to get more stories out of you somehow!"

"That's fine! Stories are okay! You saying I like any girl who happens to be my friend isn't! Now, I'm going to try and sleep, so go and terrorize Indigo or something."

Jaune sat back in his chair as Violet hopped across the train to sit closer to their sister. He saw Indigo give him an unamused look before he closed his eyes to try and get a bit more sleep.

As Jaune stepped off the train in Argus, he yawned. He was feeling in a much better mood, after getting a little bit of sleep. He was the first off the train. Violet and their older sister Mint were off second and third, but rushed ahead on the hunt for their sister and her wife. Their mom called for them to slow down while their dad and Indigo followed at a leisurely pace. The Argus train station wasn't very crowded, thankfully. They had briefly stopped over in the capital, and that was much more hectic and overwhelming.

"Hey! Over here! Violet! Mint!" Jaune turned towards his sisters' names. A blonde woman in orange was waving at them frantically. Violet rushed over to her and barreled right into her. "It's so good to see you again!"

"'Sup, Terra?" Mint gave Saphron's wife, Terra, a fist bump.

"The usual. Nice to have a bit of a break from work, though."

"Saphron! Terra! You look wonderful!"

"I could say the same about you, Blanc." Terra hugged her mother-in-law while Violet and Saphron just held each other. "And it's nice to see you again, Blair."

"Both of you came out?" He asked. "You left Adrian with those three?"

"It isn't like they're going to burn the house down, dad!" Saphron had to pry Violet off of her so that she could hug the others. "He's in good hands."

"I'm not sure if those three are really 'good hands' for a squishy little toddler," Jaune said, "You aren't worried that they're going to… you know, break him?"

"He's made of sterner stuff than that, Jaune!" Terra said. "Let's get to the car. The sooner we get home, the sooner we can start on dinner."

"I can't wait to have some good ol' home cookin'!" Mint said.

The trip back to Saphron's house passed more eventfully than Jaune would've liked. Shoving the eight of them into a car so close to each other was sure to get out of hand quickly. He and his dad were the only men in the car, and they ended up in the back. Terra ceded the passenger seat to Blanc, and Mint spent the ride catching up with Terra. Violet leaned as far forward in her seat as possible to listen to them. Indigo just went on reading.

"How did you deal with this?" Jaune asked his dad, "While I was away at Beacon?"

"I had to deal with it for over a decade before you were born. Even longer until you were more than just a sentient potato and could actually do things with me. You get used to it. Telling me you aren't after 17 years?"

"I thought I was. Then freedom happened."

Jaune and his dad unloaded their bags once they had finally arrived. Mint offered to help out, but their dad just ushered her inside. When they were inside, Jaune heard familiar voices. The other three were just sitting on the couch, watching television.

"Hey, the gang's all here!" Two of the young women on the couch were identical, their hair streaked with azure blue, one on the left side of her head, and the other on the right side. The one with the streak on her right noticed them first.

"Mom, dad!" The one with the streak on her left shot up from the couch and ran over to them. "Good to see you!"

"It's good to see you, Alice," Blanc said, "Sapphire, come and give us a hug."

The other twin sighed and stood, the smallest of smiles on her face, as she embraced her parents. Jaune walked past the two of them and right to the couch. The oldest of them had just spared the rest of the family a glance before turning back to what she was watching. Her blond hair was cut short, cascading down her head in waves, not unlike their mother's, though Blanc wore it longer. A little boy was sitting next to her. He was looking around, curious about all the voices that had suddenly entered his house.

"What's up, baby boy?" Jaune's oldest sister reached back and ruffled his hair as the little boy giggled.

"I'm not a baby, Scarlet!" Jaune protested.

"Yeah, but you'll always be my baby boy, Jaune. Eight year gap will do that to you."

"And when you have your own son? What about Adrian?!" Jaune gestured towards his nephew.

"I'll just keep it going and let them in on the joke!" She pulled herself up and rounded the couch. "Moms! Pops! Glad to see you're still kicking! Mint, you little terror, nice to see you didn't bum off to hike in the middle of nowhere. I see Indigo's head is still stuck in a book. And Violet's still the little ray of sunshine she always is."

"Why is she the only one you didn't insult?" Indigo asked.

"You all get settled. Scarlet helped me get your rooms ready upstairs. I'll start on dinner." Saphron said.

"Ooh! I'll be right down and help you out!" Blanc rushed towards the stairs ahead of the rest of the Arcs.

"Scarlet helping with housework? Whatever gods are out there must be really happy to bless us like this," said Blair.

It had been a while since Jaune had eaten Saphron's cooking. She helped out a lot back home, before she moved out, and he always looked forward to it whenever he came to visit. With her and their mom working together, though? They were in store for a feast.

The next day, Jaune had been sent on an important mission: to spend time with Indigo and Violet. Strictly speaking, Jaune and Mint both had been given the task, but with how she could be at times, he may as well have been on his own. Argus was a rather big city, but there just wasn't much to do in it. It looked nice, and he enjoyed the scenery, but he doubted it was all that enjoyable for someone like Violet.

"It's story time, Jaune!" Violet called.

"What?"

"Story time! You have to tell me story about your girlf- your girl friends!" Jaune was thankful for the fact that she caught herself. She was listening to him on the train after all. "Come on, you're not going to leave me hanging, are you?"

"I want to hear too," Mint said, "All this Huntsman stuff sounds super cool."

"Says the one who didn't go to an Academy yourself," Jaune said.

"Not a fan of potentially dying and all, you know?"

"I will admit," Indigo began, "I'm curious as well. I am a bit curious… about this Pyrrha girl."

"Not you too, Indigo!"

"Well, she's the one on your team, isn't she? I'm sure she's the one you're really close to. And she's here in Argus, right?"

Jaune rubbed his temples and sighed. May as well amuse them. With all three of them asking, what else could he do?

"Fine then. Here's one…" He had to think a bit about what interesting stories he could tell them. "Here's one I remember. We went out to dinner once. Nora ordered a lot. Bill shows up, and we all pay, but Nora's just looking at hers, sweating. Turns out she didn't think about how much she was spending and was short. We spent the entire weekend working to pay it off. All four of us. That's how much she went over. I just thought she was secretly rich."

"Boo! Where was the spice in that?" Violet cried.

"Wasn't supposed to have spice," Mint told her, "I think that one had a lesson. Think your friends would slave away for a weekend ot fix on of your screw ups? But you have to have cooler stories, Jaune."

"Cool, sure, but I don't know about funny."

"Whoever said they had to be funny?" Mint asked. "Hit us with the action!"

"And a bit of romance, if you don't mind," Indigo whispered.

"Action and romance…Oh, I think I got one!" His younger sisters perked up. "Not my romance. Calm down. We faced down a Beringel once - it's a big Grimm that looks like a gorilla - with Ruby's team. When the semester was winding down, me and the other three wanted to see if we could take one ourselves. One of our teachers,Glynda, supervised us on a special little training mission, to make sure we didn't die, or anything.

"We headed to the Forest of Forever Fall to do some Beringel hunting. There were some smaller Grimm, but by that point in the semester, we were able to deal with them without too many problems. When we found a Beringel, though, that's when the real test started. I was on the front, getting in cuts and stabs where I could with Crocea Mors. I've gotten better at taking hits with the shield too, I think. Pyrrha was there with me. We were trying to create a perfect opening for Nora. When we saw our chance, she went in with her hammer. Wound it up like a big old baseball bat, and swung. The Beringel's knee was gone. Its leg was just hanging there, useless, but it was still in the fight.

"It grabbed Nora, and then Pyrrha and I heard a scream. Ren's a quiet dude, so that caught us real off guard. Next thing we knew, Ren was on the thing, hacking away at its fingers to force its fist open before it crushed Nora. Pyrrha and I kept the other arm busy, and with the Beringel crippled, us beating on its arm, and one of its hand missing its fingers, it was basically done. A shot to the head and a hammer to the face, and then poof, it was done.

"Nora collapsed afterwards, and we waited until she was back in tip top shape to head back. Ren was at her side the entire time. Me and Pyrrha were on guard duty, making sure nothing jumped us."

"So… are Ren and Nora…?" Violet trailed off.

"Yeah, we don't know. They've known each other for a while, but that's about it. I think Nora likes Ren, but…"

"Oh! Tell us about that! When was it obvious she was head over heels for him?!" Violet demanded. Indigo nodded furiously in agreement with her sister.

"It was pretty early in the semester. We went into the city to just hang out. Nora… she, uh… she insulted my hoodie-"

"Not like I can blame her. It's boring," Mint said.

"Anyway… she said I should go shopping for a new outfit. So she and Pyrrha dragged us somewhere. We did some shopping. We did some trying on. Embarrassing outfits, really good outfits. Some didn't work. Some we bought. Nora really, really cared about Ren's opinion on the things that she picked out. Sometimes it was like Pyrrha and I weren't even there. We didn't say anything, but we shared a look, and we just knew."

"Do you think he knows?" Indigo asked.

"If he does, he's doing a great job at hiding it. And it makes me feel bad for Nora, if he does, and just not doing anything about it…"

"Let's get lunch!" Violet said. "You can tell us more stories when we eat!"

"I want to hear some about your little red riding hood," Mint said.

Jaune's shoulders slumped. He didn't like the "your" Mint had said. Maybe they'd meet Ruby some day so she could shut them up about this nonexistent crush of his. Then again, her being around just might make it all the worse…

The Arcs had come together in Argus to celebrate Adrian's birthday. On the day itself, they had an extra special dinner and started tearing into a massive marble cake. After they had eaten their fill, they started playing party games. After a few hours, some of them split off and settled on the couch, watching television. Four of the girls were playing a board game about total domination of Remnant. Jaune was sitting behind Violent, while Alice was watching over Sapphire's shoulder. Scarlet and Mint didn't have any spectators.

"Remember, Violet," Jaune whispered, "if you need help, just let me know. You're the underdog here."

"I'll be fine, Jaune. It isn't a glorious victory if the underdog can't win all on her own!" Violet drew a card and looked at her sisters' hands. She knew what card she wanted to play, and she needed a target. "I'm going to use my smugglers to take two of your cards… Scarlet."

"Kick a woman while she's down, why don't you?" The two cards exchanged hands, and Scarlet was left with only one card. "So this is war?"

"I'm moving my fleet off the Argusian coast, and ending my turn," Violet said.

"My turn, eh?" Mint cracked her neck as she pondered her next action. She was playing as Vale. If Violet's Mistral and Scarlet's Atlas were on the brink of war, she had a few different options. She drew and said, "I'm moving east."

"Is she… coming to help me?" Violet said to herself.

No, she wasn't. Jaune wanted to tell Violet that. She had said that she didn't want help, so he couldn't tell her that she was about to be pincered. He bit his knuckle and hoped for the best. Two more turns until Violet got to do anything again. Sapphire was so far away that she wasn't much of a threat, but what about Scarlet?

"Well, you all can fight amongst yourselves," Sapphire said. "I'm just going to draw and bolster my defenses." She moved some of her pieces around, but they were all within Vacuo's borders.

"Here it is, then," Alice said, "the moment of truth."

You didn't need to draw cards in this game. If you were new and just happened to forget before you acted, sometimes people would have mercy and let you draw after the fact. With how much they had played, though, that wouldn't slide. Scarlet played her card right away without drawing.

"Burning Heart," she said.

That was exactly what Jaune was afraid of. It was a classic Atlas strategy. The card could only be played when it was the only one in your hand. It basically forced you to skip your draw phase in order to do anything with it. The people of Atlas were used to living in the frigid north, and surviving despite the extremely harsh climate. Their will to live was so strong it basically made them completely ignore the biting cold of their homeland when the chips were down. They simply willed themselves out of freezing to death. Scarlet's forces were already guarding her borders. With her only card gone, she just folded her hands and looked at her younger sister.

"Um…" Violet picked the card up from the other side of the table. "'This card can only be played when it's the only one in your hand. Your people are resolute in the face of death and adversity. Each shoulder has the strength of 10 men, since they know painfully well that it's do or die. So long as you suffer this resource drought, the strength of each of your forces is doubled'? If your forces are within your borders, their strength is tripled? So… if she just doesn't draw another card, her army is just three times the size of mine?"

"That's why you don't screw with Atlas, Violet," Alice said. "And then you have Mint to deal with. Sorry."

"What do I do? What should I do?"

It broke Jaune's heart to see his little sister panicking like that, even if it was just over a board game. He scanned her cards, trying to think of what he could do. Violet had the biggest hand out of all of them, at ten cards, so she technically had the most resources.

"Violet," he said, "get rid of your hand. That's vague enough that I'm not ruining your whole underdog thing, right?"

"Get rid of my- how? I can only play-" Her eyes went wide when she saw what Jaune had seen. "I-I'm going to start with the Mistrali Merchant!"

"Oh, this is going to be interesting," Sapphire said.

Normally, you could only play one card per round. The Mistrali Merchant was the only way around it. Discard a card, play another card. You could do that as long as you had cards to get rid of. With how big her hand was, it was an ideal time to use it.

"I'm going to use my Nomadic Calvary to guard my western flank. I'm going to use Children of the Sky to double the power of my air fleet until the end of my next turn. Then I'm going to use Patriotic Fervor to double the strength of all my forces until then, too. I think that's it…"

"Well," Mint whistled, "that stops me in my tracks."

Violet seemed relieved at knowing that her hopeless situation had turned a little brighter. She had another turn to prepare for what came next, at least. Seeing her more at ease made Jaune happy. He hoped he wouldn't have to try and nudge her again, so she could enjoy the game to the fullest, but if it meant keeping her from getting all depressed after getting completely steamrolled, it was worth it.

Over on the couch, Blanc was playing with her grandson. Her daughters were watching her, while her husband and daughter-in-law were more invested in a game show that was on.

"I had forgotten just how many faunus live here in Argus," Blair said. "Are there more than there were the last time we were here?"

"I don't think so," Terra said, "A lot of them are from Atlas. Mantle, really. Just wanted to get out. Plenty of them are just stopping here on their way to Value, Vacuo, or Menagerie, though. They aren't permanent residents, so I don't think there are more of them."

"Isn't Argus better because of how remote it is? It isn't beholden to any Atlesian laws, and it's far enough away from the capital to not have to deal with its… rather unsavory culture."

"If any faunus choose to stay here, that's probably why. Speaking of the capital, how are things?"

"How it always is. Lower city is just normal, and the upper city is a bunch of privileged aristocrats that could care less about the rest of us. I hear the prince is an actual person, though. He at least tries to go out and talk to the people, from what I've heard. The King, though? Still shut inside the palace like always."

"I can't really blame him for that, but I hear Prime Minister Hou is the one doing all the work. A king who refuses to rule his kingdom is probably in for a rough time," Terra said, "I hope his Highness is as good a young man as people make him out to be. I want Adrian to be able to grow up in a better Mistral than the one I did. Competent government in the capital would definitely help with that."

"You said it, Terra," Blair said.

"Are things really that bad?" Indigo asked.

The two had forgotten that she was sitting there, watching television with them. Blair felt odd, considering just how young she was.

"Not any worse than anywhere else in the world. We're able to live well enough, and that's the important thing, Indigo. Just focus on your studies, find a good job, and live a nice, comfortable life. That's all you need to worry about."

"Oh, it'll be fine!" Blanc said, "We've survived this long, haven't we? Don't let their doom and gloom get your down, Indigo, okay?"

"Okay…"

That probably would've been easier said than done. Jaune was too busy watching Violet to hear much of what they were talking about, but he heard that part, at least. He didn't know Blake all that well, but by hanging out with her, he started picking up a bit more on the things that the faunus had to deal with, especially back home in Mistral. He had never noticed just how many shops in some parts of Wind Path had no faunus signs outside until he returned home for the summer. The capital was probably worse. There was only so much he could do, as a Huntsman. A start would definitely be trying to help protect the faunus of his country where the higher ups in the military might not be doing their best work.

Violet was barely able to keep herself awake by the end of the game. She was the first one out, though she fought the good fight. With nothing left to do but just watch her older sisters fight for dominance over the world, she slipped further and further into unconsciousness. Indigo and Adrian were dozing off just like her.

"I guess that's our cue to hit the sack," Blanc said.

Jaune lightly shook Violet to tell her to head upstairs to sleep, instead of just at a table. She and Indigo dragged themselves up the stairs as their parents and Terra headed up.

"Goodnight, guys!" Terra called, "Don't stay up too late."

"You're not going to see me sleeping the day away." Mint excused herself and followed them saying, "I want to be up bright and early!"

"Now…" Scarlet rested her chin on one of her hands, looking right at Jaune. "Beacon hasn't broken you yet, looks like."

"Yeah, I'm surviving!" Alice took one of the free seats, and then Saphron took the other. Suddenly Jaune felt like there was something very wrong. "So, uh… what's up?"

"We just wanted to talk to you," Saphron said, "About Beacon. It's a huge thing, you know?"

"I still don't approve, Jaune," Scarlet said.

"I know you don't, but there's nothing that can be done now. I'm in Beacon, and that's all that matters."

"Yeah," Alice said, "but that's because you cheated."

"At least he's putting in the work to prove he deserves the place there, right?" Sapphire asked. "That has to be worth something."

"Oh, it definitely is!" Alice said, "But, he didn't have to go to the school about fighting hellspawn, and he definitely wasn't prepared when he left. Can't blame us for being worried."

"I still think it's stupid," Scarlet said.

"Scarlet…" Saphron sighed, "I understand how you feel, I really do. It doesn't matter how stupid you think it is now, though. Jaune's in Beacon. His heart is set on graduating, and becoming a Huntsman. You couldn't stop him before, and you won't stop him now. All we can do now is support him the best we can."

"There's still time!" Scarlet did her best to keep her voice down, but she struggled with it. "It's only been a semester! He can still drop out! He can go to medical school and become a doctor like dad! You want to help people, right? Then just do what he did!"

"It isn't that simple, Scarlet, and you know that!" Jaune retorted.

"What, so you can chase after great-grandpa's ghost like a maniac?"

"You know that dad cared just about it as much as I do!"

They were still going back and forth in hushed tones.

"Dad gave up because he realized he could do a lot more as a doctor, and you know that."

"Dad gave up because he was a coward and just threw away one of his biggest dreams!"

"Take that back right now you-" Scarlet stood up at Jaune's statement, her face red with anger.

"Whoa! Whoa!" Alice had stood up as well, arms outstretched to try and calm them down. "No need to get so heated!"

"You know I'm right," Jaune said.

"Dad did say that," Sapphire said.

"So you're all just going to sit back and let him say that about our dad?!" Scarlet asked.

"Dad really wanted to be a great hero like Roland," Saphron said, "but the idea of dying on the battlefield terrified him. By the standards of the day, he would be a coward. He called himself that because of the fact that something made him just give up on one of his biggest dreams. Jaune saying that was harsh, and I'd even say it was uncalled for. It doesn't really have anything to do with the conversation we're having."

Jaune sat back and crossed his arms. Scarlet was glowering at him, but he looked right past her at the wall.

"I think we should reset," Sapphire said, "Jaune wants to be like Roland even if it means risking his life. Scarlet is worried about him, because being like Roland is dangerous. That's it. That's what this is all about. Can you sit down now, sis?" Scarlet grudgingly did as she was asked, refusing to make eye contact with her brother. "Saphron hit the nail on the head when she said all we can do now is support Jaune. He's in Beacon, and he's doing good for himself. That's something we should be thankful for."

"I know you want to yell at him, and I can't blame you, but is there anything encouraging you can think to say, Scarlet?" Alice asked.

She glanced at her brother for a second, who was still upset. She couldn't quite bring herself to stay angry at him, even if what he had said about their dad infuriated her. She sighed and buried her head in her hands.

"Fine, fine, I'll try…" Scarlet said, resting her arms on the table, "If you're hellbent on this, I want you to look at it differently. Don't do this because you want to be like Roland. Do it because you want to, Jaune. You're your own person, not just the descendant of some hero from the Great War."

"I mean, I guess it's a good start." Saphron stood up and patted Jaune on the shoulder. "I'm going to join Terra upstairs. I want you to know that I'm proud of you, Jaune. I'll be rooting for you. Don't forget that."

"One more thing," Scarlet was the next to stand up. "Best work on that temper. I pissed you off, but… you're going to need the patience of a saint, if you're going to be a Huntsman. Dealing with people in crises, dealing with bitchy citizens who want to rant about their neighbors, all sorts of nonsense. Can't exactly go blowing up on people. G'night."

"So." After Scarlet and Saphron were gone, Jaune turned to Alice and Sapphire. "Do you two have anything else to add?"

"Dad isn't a 'coward'," Sapphire said, "Being a doctor is a big deal. People's lives are in his hands, just like how they'd be in yours as a Huntsman. His battlefield just isn't one littered with swords."

"Just don't get yourself killed. And try to think a bit more before you talk, alright?" Alice said. "Now, are you heading upstairs with us, or are you going to watch game shows until dawn like a weirdo?"

Jaune stood up and started towards the stairs. Alice and Sapphire walked on either side of him and each wrapped an arm around his shoulder as they started to climb. His sisters could be overbearing at times. At others, they could be annoying. There were countless times when they had driven him to the brink of insanity, but at the end of the day, he would always love them. He knew they'd always love him, too. Once they had crested the final stair, Jaune had made a decision. When he saw Scarlet tomorrow, after he had gotten some sleep and cooled off, he'd have to apologize to her for what he had said.

Amends (Jaune, Scarlet)

Jaune: Hey… Scarlet?

Scarlet: What's up, baby boy?

Jaune: Could you st- never mind. Look, I'm sorry. About what I said last night.

Scarlet: Are you sure you should be apologizing to me? Dad was the one you were shit talking, after all.

Jaune: …That's not what I mean. I know you're just worried about it. I was being insensitive.

Scarlet: You were being human. We're all just selfish pricks at the end of the day. I still want you safe, and that's my selfishness. You wanted to go to Beacon, and that's yours. Just don't get yourself killed, alright?

Jaune: Yeah, I'll be careful.
