Chapter 1:

The Midoriya's apartment was quiet. Which is something very surprising. Usually, something is playing on the tv or a giggles child would make their way through their whole floor. Not that their floormates minded it, they just love to see the adorable child happy and giggling.

So much that they give him even more sugar than he needs. Which definitely helped the kid stay up later than usual.

Then something else sounded through the apartment. Loud enough to get Inko Midoriya out of her makeshift office (otherwise known as a dinner table) and her head out of case files. Picking up the phone, she hummed. "Midoriya residence. How can I help you?".

A well-known voice rang out through the phone, " You can help me with answering a lovely question of mine. "

In a flash, a love-struck smile appeared on the receiver's face, "I can most certainly help you with that." The woman replied.

"Do you think that my lovely wife and crazy smart son, " He then whispered, " I can guess who he has that from ." The two shared a giggle and the deep voice continued, " Think that they can join me and live together in America? Along with the option for the dear wife to continue her job in a certain quirk department at my lovely job that doesn't put up with discrimination and has amazing pay that fits her pay grade? " It turned into a small ramble towards the end of his sentence.

'I can guess who Izu has that from'

Inko's jaw dropped, "We can come to you in America?" They had been waiting for this since Izuku's birth. A chance to be a proper family. No more visits during vacation time only.

" Yes, dear. Did you hear the job offer? "

The woman suppressed a grin on her face, "I did not blank at the mention of living with you in America. I heard you fully well dear." She said shortly. "Tell them that I accept the job."

"I already said that ." Her husband casually said. " Wheels up in a week! I'm sending all the necessary documents that you need and a to-do list along with people that you can reach out to ask for help. "

"Hisashi." With the most serious tone ever, "We're going to talk about accepting job offers that aren't offered to you and about short deadlines no one wants."

With an audible gulp, the man chuckled sheepishly. " Yes, ma'am. I'm being called to the lab right now, love you!"

With a long breath out, Inko smiled and looked at the family picture hung up on the wall. "Don't work too much overtime and I love you as well, Hisashi." With a sappy smile on her face, she hangs up the phone and walks into the living room and opens her laptop.

The first thing that popped up was her usual e-mail box. Only then did she let out a sigh at her immature husband.

'Hisashi's guide to getting his lovely wife and cute son to America in about a hundred steps.'

Chuckling at his antics, she clicked on her business website and wrote to her firm about her sudden move. She knows that it isn't usually done like that. But they can't really deny a sudden move to America.

With stars in his eyes. Izuku looks at the airport and scans around for his father. He held onto his mother's hand with a tight grip. It just shows how nervous he is.

With a chuckle, Inko points to the man waving a board like a madman that is spreading the news to where a new restaurant opened.

"Daddy!" The boy squealed and let go of his mother's hand to sprint over to the scientist.

The tall man let out an excited laugh, "Hey little man." He said and ruffled his hair. "Oh god, I can see why your mother calls me a carbon copy of you." He laughed and grinned at his wife, "Now you have to deal with two of us."

Inko huffed playfully. "He nearly has the same hair as you do." She looked at the two hugging. If she didn't know any better, she'd just see a huge mop of black curly hair. But with her precise eyes, she can differentiate that her son's hair had plucks of dark green throughout the huge bird's nest.

She laughed and stood beside the two making a scene in the airport. Not as if that's new for any of their workers. A lot of people watch drama shows lately. Her husband stood up with Izuku clinging onto him in his waist.

With his usual sly smile, Hisashi leaned down and pecked his wife's lips. "I missed you dearly." He hummed and grabbed Izuku's medium-sized Gran Torino suitcase. Pulling along the hero merch as the happy family walked out of the station.

"Did you get everything done?" Her husband asked.

Inko huffed and leaned against the tall man. "Yes. A lovely couple moved into the apartment." She interlaced their hands, "They reminded me of the time when we first moved in together." The mother smiled and squeezed his hand.

The man squeezed her hand in response and kissed his son's cheek. "Are you ready for your new home?"

The boy leaned his head against his fathers and pouted. "I don't know English."

"You'll learn kiddo," The man replied, "You'll learn."

Inko easily adapted to her new job as she already represented a few cases in the first two months she was in America. The hours were great so she can care for Izuku and not constantly drop him off at some daycare near them. Since it's the same company that Hisashi works at, they usually eat lunch together and continue their jobs.

Izuku was at a trusted daycare that the company has. It's nice how their jobs are more directed to a balanced workforce with always optional paths if something doesn't work out. Since the two work together, they also stop work at the same time. The two usually meet outside the elevator of the daycare.

The family quickly falls into a routine. Izuku can't be enrolled into a school until he's five. Which is a bit different for the Japanese family, given that most kindergartens in Japan start from the age of three until five.

After each Friday they meet together and eat out at some restaurant and go walk afterwards in a park. Which was like a sort of impru date with their son. You don't know how thankful they are for such a well-behaved child.

Time passed a lot faster than both the parents hoped. They just can't bear thinking of their little boy growing into a teenager. They dread and both look forward to giving their kid the talk.

People would be confused at how well prepared they are.

With a now four-year-old Izuku and a stomach full of food. They go ahead and take a walk around a nearby park. But this time it was different.

They took another route to the park. Which they quite regret actually.

Izuku looked with eyes full of wonder instead of fear as two villains rounded the corner down the street and were followed by a red car. "Heroes!" Izuku squealed.

The villain started pushing cars aside and threw one ahead of them. A hundred meters away from them one ended right next to the blue car.

"Not the time 'Zuku!" Hisashi shouted and picked up his son. "They're heading towards us." The man tried to move but stopped as soon as a fearful Inko grabbed his arm, frozen of the fear that overwhelmed her.

Shaking, Inko raised a finger and pointed at the blue car. "There is a family in there."

Hisashi took in a shuddered breath. The villain was starting to approach them. In a slight panic, the man grabbed Inko by her waist and urged her to move.

Then. Some kind of lucky miracle happened as the family was nearly crushed by the giant villain. A tall man with blonde hair gelled into two antennas. Punched the villain into the air as if it's ping pong. "IT'S FINE NOW. " The man shouted and turned to the Midoriya's with a smile that immediately made them put away their worries. " WHY?" He shouted and pushed the struck car away from the blue car.

"BECAUSE I AM HERE." He shouted and finally incapacitated the villain.

"Wow." Izuku gawked. "I want to be a hero."

Inko let out a small laugh after she overcame her shock. "I think you'll do great." She said. "Let's go see if the family needs help." She said and pushed her sleeves up her arm.

Hisashi nodded and let Izuku down and stood beside him. Still holding onto the small hands. "Don't let go, if I do, go hold mommy's." He ordered.

Izuku nodded with conviction and clammed the hand tightly. Following his mother as she looked at the family, "Are you okay?"

"We're just a bit shaken." They replied, quivering evident in their voice. "I can't get the door to open, though."

Hisashi nodded and let go of Izuku's hand. The boy immediately grabbed onto his mother's hand. The tall man grabbed gloves out of his back pocket and put them on. No more wounds are needed for the field medics. He grabbed onto the handle of the door and placed it where normally a window would be.

Pulling he put his whole weight into it. With another small pull. The door let go. "It's open. Look out for the debris on the ground though."

Inko held out a hand as the woman stepped out. "You can let go now, Zuku." She said with a warm smile.

Cautiously, Izuku mimicked her mother and helped out two girls from the backseat. "Are you okay?" Izuku asked.

The two nodded and followed out after the boy.

The woman looked at the damaged car, "Thank you. I don't know for how long we would've waited for a hero."

Hisashi smiled. "We've all got to help each other."

Inko nodded and held a hand out. "Inko Midoriya. Do you need a ride home?"

"Crystal Bate." The woman shook the kind woman's hand. "If it isn't a bother. We live a bit far away from the city."

"We do too, no worries," Inko said and looked at the children who were gushing to one another about the hero saving them. "Besides, I think we're going to have our hands full after this."

"When I thought Cathleen couldn't get more energetic." The mother laughed. The parents laughed as well. Leading the trio to their car parked in a special parking lot against these types of villains.

Hisashi is in the driver's seat with Crystal next to him, punching in her address. In the back, Inko's ear could be talked off by the two kids. The smallest kid just looked with wide eyes and nodded.

The boy's mother couldn't be happier with Izuku making friends.

With a confused look on Hisashi's face. He peeked into the living room from his study. "Izuku?" He called out. "I heard something break. Are you okay?"

A cry was heard, the father immediately abandoned his study and ran into the living room. Looking at the spot where his son always watches the morning cartoons on tv.

Another cry was heard behind the small bean bag fort.

"Izu?" He asked and closed in onto the boy.

"Dad!" The boy wailed and popped his head up.

With a look of horror on the man's face, he looked at his son. Or well, by his facial features he can see that it's his boy. But he can make out that the boy now has gray hair with black highlights and instead of the usual striking emerald green eyes. There was an electric blue color. "Izu. Why are you transparent?"

"I don't know!" He cried ghost tears, "I got scared when something came up on the tv!" Then pointed at the loud video playing.

"Why is Five Nights at Freddy's being played?" Hisashi questioned himself, shaking his head, back at the things happening at hand.

"What happened then?"

"Then, something bright happened to me and I flew back against the dinner table."

"You flew? " Hisashi exclaimed. He petted the boy's hair as a means to calm himself. "Checklist."

They always say 'checklist' to see and recount what the damage was. Izuku tends to get into some kind of adventures.

"Checklist." Izuku repeated and calmed down a bit.

"Transparent."

Izuku tilted his head in confusion.

"To be able to be seen through with clarity."

Izuku nodded at the words 'see through'. "Check!"

"Flying?"

Izuku tried to hover in the air. He saw it in some pre-quirk movie of a tin man.

"Check?"

"Oh gods, check."

"Wounds?"

"None."

Taking a deep breath in, Hisashi got to his diagnosis. "Izuku, I think you just got a quirk."

"Cool!"

"Not cool, 'zuku. You broke some china plates." The man said with pity. "We'll have to give your mommy a spa day when she's home."

"Spa day!" The boy said excitedly. "Can I tell mommy?" He asked as he held up his hands. Only to be able to see through it. His father's expression became panicked once again.

"We've gotta go to the quirk doctor!" He exclaimed.

In a familiar building that is always associated with a playground, Izuku squealed as he thought about going to the daycare. He really liked it there. The miss that helps him is very nice.

But instead of the daycare, the whole family of three was sat down on the first floor in a bland white room. While Hisashi Midoriya himself is a quirk scientist. He isn't certified to make a diagnosis. The man honestly loves his job since it also provides a bunch of additional things for all kinds of situations. Just like the daycare where Izuku goes. Sadly it doesn't involve a school. But with only his pay they would be able to get Izuku into a private school.

"Your son definitely won the gene pool." The doctor said. The man is one of Hisashi's co-workers. But in this professional environment, they had to act like it, sadly. The doctor turned his monitor to the three and showed something that looks like some web.

"This here is your family tree." The man said and pointed at it, he went further up the tree. "Without any further testing, I can't see what kind of abilities you have. But by seeing this tree, we'd be able to figure it out."

The man said, "You can fly, and that would come from the quirk genes from this man here. Takashi Midoriya." He said and up the tree, he pointed at the name. "He's one of the first generations in your tree to have a quirk."

"Mr Midoriya also mentioned that you had cut yourself on some porcelain." The man said and Izuku nodded excitedly. "Your quirk healed it." The white-coated man said and then pointed to the name right next to Takashi's. "Takashi here married a woman called Nao Takane-Midoriya. She had a weak regeneration quirk."

"And the transparency?" Inko spoke up.

The man laughed, "That would come from your great-grandpa Ms Midoriya." The doctor said and pointed at his name. "His quirk was 'ghost'." After scribbling down some words on his board. The man looked up at the parents and the energetic kid. "Your son won the gene lottery." He repeated, "Looking at all of the different quirks in your tree. He could have a lot more different abilities that have yet to be found."

The man scribbled down on a piece of paper and handed it to Hisashi. "You can plan a meeting to study his quirk." He said. "You can study your son in our facilities. Then we won't have to disturb Ms Midoriya and will ask about certain things since you'll be there. Just like Jones' daughter"

Hisashi had a smile that radiated sunlight, "Will do, Will! See you then?" He asked and held a hand out for the doctor.

Will smiled back and shook his hand. "See you then Hisashi." He then smiled at Inko. "It was nice to finally meet you. Hisashi talks about you all the time." He then looked at the kid and ruffled his hair, "You as well! Your dad says that you've been interested in analysis!"

Izuku nodded rapidly.

"Keep on doing it!" The man said and held a fist out.

Izuku pumped his fist and held it up in the air. Just like the hero fan he is. "Thank you, doctor."

"Izuku is a thing before we continue." Hisashi said over the intercom, "In Japan they let you call your own quirk a name, right?"

Izuku nodded.

"In America, scientists get to give it a name." The boy tilted his head at his father, "Your quirk is called specter."

With three scientists around him. Izuku sat in a chamber, special clothing on to be able to read his levels of brain activity and such.

It was a bit itchy. But his dad said that they could get ice cream after. So he stopped complaining about it.

Behind the window, three scientists stood together looking at the child's family tree. "So far in this condition. Which is his normal body with his quirk inactive, we have tested that he has regeneration to a certain degree, speed, stamina, balance and a lot of strength for someone his age." The three nodded.

"He'll be interesting later. I think you said that he wanted to be a hero?"

"Yes," Hisashi said with a proud smile and checked his watch. "I think we have to round this session up gentlemen. My dear wife wants me home in an hour. I haven't told her anything about ice cream."

"You're a dead man walking." His colleague hummed, with the knowledge of a few exaggerated stories from the man himself.

Hisashi just laughed as he walked into the locker room to retrieve his belongings.

No-one told the two parents that having a kid that stays up and only sleeps five hours in a whole week.

They have been struggling with keeping up with the little kid. At one point they had to sit him down and just talk about some ground rules. While he needs close to little sleep, he does need food to keep him up and running.

From that day on. Inko taught him how to make delicious Japanese dishes. She even told him to branch out and learn recipes from books.

So he did.

After the parents realized that cooking wakes them up as well. They decided to build a cabin, they soundproofed it all. A full computer set up was put in the corner, the best place for Izuku to do his analysis.

His room was super cool. While the house is only one story, there was still a roof (gable roof) so to access the upper part of his room there would be a mini hangout place! They just have to go upstairs by the ladder, his parents hung up coloured lights and bought him a galaxy lamp projector.

A tv and a fold out couch. Everyone knows that their kid is a social butterfly, so a fold out couch is fun. It even has a decent sized kitchen (with a kitchen island like an improvised dinner table.), a whole bathroom and that was basically all he needed.

He did feel a slight sting in his heart when he saw the soundproof cushions on the wall, Izuku didn't think that he was being so loud that he got a whole place for himself.

"Happy Birthday!" Everyone cheered as they all stood around the table. Izuku looked at his All Might themed cake with wide eyes.

With a big smile, he looked up at his parents.

"Go ahead and blow them out." His mother encouraged.

With a happy nod, Izuku looked at the '9' candle. Taking a breath in.

He blew the candle out.

Cathleen threw her arms around 'Izu'. "Happy birthday!"

A knock was heard at exactly 1500.

Hisashi was ready to send away the advertising people. He doesn't want to join some cult. How are they popping up either way? Aren't they, like. Illegal?

Opening the door, the father was greeted at the sight of different men in suits. The two held up their identification. "We're government officials. We'd like to talk with Izuku Midoriya's parents."

"That's us." The slightly confused Hisashi nodded and opened the door even wider. "Who's that honey?" A voice called out.

"Officials, dear." He called back and led the two to the main living room. "Take a seat. Anything to drink?"

"No thank you." The taller man said as they both sat down at the table. It was just a week ago since Izuku sat there, blowing his candles out.

Inko and Hisashi sat down opposite them.

The shorter man pulled a file out of his suitcase. "We would like to talk about your son's quirk. Is he here now?"

Hisashi shook his head. "Izuku is currently at a friend's house for a playdate." The scientist replied. "May we ask what the government would want with Izuku?"

The taller one answered the question. "The government is creating a special selected only program. The program includes young kids that would want to become a hero. They're selected for their quirks if their potential is seen." He said smoothly as if the man rehearsed it a bunch of times. "The program would act as a kind of boarding school. Home during the weekends and at the compound during the weekdays."

The smaller man continued, "He'd be surrounded by other selected kids. All on their way to having a part in the next generation of heroes. The option for Izuku Midoriya is the hero program."

Hisashi tilted his head, "What program are we talking about?"

"TPTWG is otherwise known as The Paladin of Tomorrow's Worldwide Generations. , supported by international organizations of the Hero Public Safety Commission. We're still working on the name."

"What about school?"

"He'd still be at the same level as his age. Unless that changes we'll discuss a different lesson plan to you two."

"How long does this program last?"

"Until he finished high school."

"What will he do after high school?"

The man internally grunted, he prepared for questioning parents but the father was staring at him with such an intimidating glare. "He'd be a pro hero. Our prognosis is that the selected will immediately start off as a pro hero, most likely with their own agency."

Inko looked at her husband. The confusion was evident in her eyes.

Hisashi looked at the file on the table. "That includes everything?" He asked and gestured at it.

The officials nodded. The taller one swiftly slid a business card across the table. "This is my personal information. If you'd accept to let your son into the program. I'd be his liaison."

"When would you need an answer?"

"By the end of the month, sir. Other schools will then open after their vacation." The tall one said. "Numbers are in the file if you have questions. "We hope you will consider our offer." The man said and held his hand out.

"I'll walk you out," Hisashi said as he shook their hands.

Inko just kept her eyes glued to the file.

The men nodded and walked back the way they entered, Hisashi following closely behind.

Hisashi saw the state Inko was in and grabbed two teas out of the kitchen. Placing one in front of his wife.

Finally out of her stupor. Inko smiled at her husband and accepted the tea. "How are we going to do this?" She questioned. "I never thought Izuku would be so sought after due to his quirk."

Hisashi sighed, "I had my suspicions, it's a very powerful quirk. Especially with those extra features he has. It's very dangerous if he does stray on the wrong path." He said and sipped his tea. "Do you want to go over it?"

His wife sighed, "Better go over it now. Since we can discuss it without prying ears."

The two parents latched their hands together as they determine the faith in her son's future.
