I fixed the line spacers, but it still doesn't copy it over from docs. Which is annoying since I'll have to repeat it each time, but, other than that. I hope you like the chapter!
Chapter 2:
"Our baby boy will be taught by the best people around." Hisashi said as he wrote down the pro on a whiteboard.
"Cons, HPSC."
"Partnership with the HPSC, Inko. I think they'd only be in charge partially. I could ask Mike." The man countered.
"They'll teach him everything we can't." Hisashi pointed out. "They have a lesson that switches between analysis and other hero stuff. Just like he wanted me to teach him"
"He would be fighting others." Inko said stiffly.
"He wants to be a hero."
"But I don't want our baby boy to be hurt."
Hisashi looked at his wife, "In the line of work he wants later. Being hurt can always happen. But that mostly happens to heroes right out of hero high schools." He paused, "Our boy has been training since elementary. Injuries can be prevented."
Inko just frowned.
"I think we should talk to him about it first. Have one of your colleagues go over the document and fish anything sketchy out."
The mother just nodded, "If there is anything even slightly fishy. He's not going at all." She said strictly.
Izuku squealed as he leaned against the back of the couch. Looking at his parents that sat behind it. "I'm going to be a hero?" He gasped.
"You're going to be a hero." Hisashi said with a grin of his own. While Inko just wore a tender smile.
The little boy got so excited he accidentally went into his ghost mode. Pumping his fist in the air. While doing that, he flew up and hit the ceiling, not fast enough to get hurt but still had a small bump. Which would be gone in fifteen minutes.
Inko just rushed over and wrapped her arms around the clumsy boy. After a small fussing moment, Izuku just looked up at her and gave a smile. "Don't worry mom!" He started, "I'll be a hero so that doesn't happen."
Inko just looked down at the gray-haired boy. "Oh, Izu." She started getting teary eyed.
Until his dad snorted, "Unless he'll get strong enough to fly up through the ceiling." He teased, "On the other hand, you can just go through it, so?" He shrugged.
With a death glare his mother turned to her husband. "What are you suggesting, dear?"
The tall man, also known as Mike, from a few weeks earlier stood by the gate, accompanied by a bunch of other suits keeping their respective distance from one another. The Midoriya's looked around and saw each government official wearing the same black and white suit.
Cars started parking, families started appearing and having small talk. Izuku looked around and he noticed nearly everyone of the family members have mutations or are speaking different languages.
Hisashi has an exact copy of Izuku's face and basically once again proved that they're family. 'Have they been flown into the US?' He questioned himself. Meantime Inko was just trying to not tear up.
'It's fine. They're allowed to contact us during specific hours.' She repeated as if it's her slogan. 'I'll see him on weekends.'
As if the boys sensed her nervous energy. They both grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. That made the woman her heart clench at how heartwarming both her boys are.
The gate opened and a man with a grin on his face waved at the parents. The parents recognized the face as someone in the file. Richardo Hernandez "Come on in." He called out. Each liaison guided their represented families inside the facility.
They all noticed the four different buildings surrounding a courtyard in the middle. A tree sat in the middle with a few benches around it.
"Behind this compound, there is a secure forest. It'll be used for different kinds of training." Hernandez grinned. "Of course, training depends on each kind of hero your child wants to be. Specializations and all-rounded heroes is what everyone wants to feel safe about!"
Inko kept an eye on the other families. She'd like to know who Izuku is training with until he's 18.
After the parents left…
Hernandez stood on a stage as all of the kids sat down on a chair, right in front of him. "Welcome!" The man said, "Listen up. This'll help each one of you become good friends later." A hologram appeared behind him and the children 'wow'ed at it.
"Let's start with rooms!" He smiled. "You'll be sharing rooms with another person!"
A few kids looked very enthusiastic about it. "Achilles Pappas! Put your hand in the air please." The man asked.
A shy boy with dirty blonde hair and striking blue eyes held his hands up in the air.
"Good, now. Izuku Midoriya!" He called out and the partially green haired boy tilted his head. "Go ahead with Mr Mike and Achilles to your room!"
"Okay!" The boy said cheerfully and smiled. Shuffling between the kids to go to Achilles. The boy simply smiled at him. "Hi!"
"Hey!"
Izuku kept chatting with Pappas, he even spoke another language! The eyed boy still understands his broken English though. They both had discovered things about one another. Like, Achilles is a name from an ancient myth! He said that it meant warrior. Izuku was absolutely in awe.
The greek boy then pointed out that his name isn't so typical american.
Izuku then explained his roots, how his name exists out of different things. Like, 'Izu' stands for 'come out' and 'ku' stands for 'after a long time' or even 'nine', Achilles then pointed out how they all are nine years old and could represent something. Izuku shrugged it off, all of it is a mere coincidence anyways.
Then they each explained their quirks. Izuku then began to ramble about the ways he could apply it to combat. Before the green eyed kid could continue rambling about his new friend's quirk, he was interrupted by a knock at the door.
Achilles shrugged when Izuku sent him a confused look. The Ghost quirk-user then opened the door, revealing Mike.
"Hey Mike!" Izuku greeted with a wave.
"Hey kid." The man replied, "Walk with me, I have some things for you;"
Izuku nodded and waved bye to Achilles who immediately occupied himself with organizing his dresser. He then skipped after his liaison.
Mike was an okay guy, after getting permission from the higher ups he joined the Midoriya's for dinner a few times. To build a bond of trust with them, since he'd be 'responsible' for the little guy.
"You remember the test you had to take before today?" The tall man asked.
"Yes." Izuku nodded.
"Well, they're to see how far you are in your education and Izuku. You're quite far ahead." He hummed. "We have discussed this with your parents. You'll get lessons with another student who is far ahead as well, even a bit more ahead of you."
"Wow!" Izuku is even more curious as to who she is now.
Mike nodded, "Wow indeed. You're quite smart for a nine year old. There is another thing I need to talk to you about."
Izuku tilted his head.
"It's about your sleeping habits." He stated.
The boy immediately looked at the floor. "I won't be too loud." He promised quietly.
Mike put a hand on his shoulder in sympathy. "We don't mind." They stopped in front of a door and the man opened it. "This is kind of why we have this here."
Izuku looked at the room curiously. It was a small library with different computers and a few empty tables. A wall separated it from the lounging side with seats and TVs that had headphones on a stand by their respective couches.
The boy then locked his gaze on the window. You can see that there was a gym/dojo behind it?
Sensing his confusion, Mike continued. He walked into the room and Izuku followed in tow. "You see that other door there?" The man pointed at yet another door, unlike the rest. It's a pitch black door with a silver handle.
"Yeah."
"That holds simulators." He says and looks at Izuku's face to see if he knows what it is.
"Like, things that show stuff as if it's real life?"
"Basically. This is a machine though. We have a cool team of engineers that built it for you all. They let stuff like parkour show. You can actually feel their holograms." Mike said and opened the door.
The room was a dark gray-blue color. Although a black screen did obviously pop out. Mike neared and tapped it.
Izuku looked at it as Mike showed how it works. He pulled out a card and scanned it by the side. "This is your profile." He explains, a picture of Izuku is shown. "It shows what level you are in our simulators. Some levels are custom made for your quirk. The levels will clearly tell if you can use it or not."
The man clicked a few other buttons. "There is always a help button if you don't know how to use it." The room changed colors.
Izuku felt a breeze as he looked at the changed scenery. It now showed a majestic valley, a gentle breeze came out from god knows where. There was now a map on the ground with a slight glow.
"Go ahead and sit." Mike gestured.
Izuku then sat. "It feels so real."
"It's a very good simulator. So far only a few have clearance to use it. You've immediately been granted permission because of your sleeping habits. You have this as a way to pass time."
He then cleared his throat and held up Izuku's metal card, a fabric keychain with 'ALL MIGHT' merch on it, "This will give you access to the kitchen, since your mother told me about it. It has your personal data on it, the library is always open but still scan in before you head in. Just so we know where you are."
Izuku nodded and put it around his neck. "Thank you."
Mike ruffled his hair, "No problem kiddo." He then cleared his throat. "There is a feature I do need to talk about." He said and pressed another few buttons on the screen the scenery faded and turned into the same blue colors again.
Izuku made sure to file it away.
"There is the weapon section." He said, and clicked the final button. The wall was swiftly replaced with a mannequin wearing an outfit and a wall of weapons behind a glass. A red light at each of them.
"Those clothes are specially tailored for you. Everyone has them. They prevent stabs and cuts. The mask is required for the first few lessons, gloves are a must with each kind of anything sharp." He explained. "If you're not alone there is an option for that." Another beep and a small wall of Izuku's right collapsed, "Clothing booth."
Izuku nodded, indicating to the man that he was following.
"You'll still train with the others. Unless, again, deemed to be ahead. Until then, you'll be trained personally by a coach."
"This is a lot."
Mike nodded in understanding. "Let's head to the cafeteria. Then we'll continue our tour." He said, "The other liaisons are touring them tomorrow to let the roommates get acquainted with one another." He said, "I know that you're able to get along with basically anyone, so I deemed it unnecessary."
Izuku snorted, "Mom tell you that?"
"Of course."
"You have taiyaki here!" Izuku gaped.
Mike nodded.
"Did you know that Japanese pro hero also eat these? He has his own line of it!" Izuku rambled as he plated three of them. The boy then continued looking around the buffet and plated another club sandwich.
"It's lunch time, so go ahead and make some friends, Izuku." Mike said as he stepped away. "I'll be back in 30 minutes." He halted and nudged the boy, "That girl there."
Izuku nodded, "She's the smart one I told you about. I think you'll be spending classes together on your own"
Izuku nodded, "See you then." The boy then happily got some crisp cold water from a dispenser and looked around the cafeteria. Looking for a familiar face. His eyes zoomed in on the girl.
He approached the table she sat at with another girl. He tapped on the table to not scare them out of their deep conversation. "Hello! May I join you?" He asked.
The girls looked up at him in confusion. The one with olive skin tone nodded with a smile. "You may. My name is Amalea Ferraro."
Izuku smiled and set his plate down before sitting down. "I'm Izuku Midoriya." He introduced.
The other girl introduced herself after, "My name is Mia Evans." The girl introduced herself. Izuku recognized the British accent.
"You from the U.K?" He asked and the girl nodded. He then tilted his head as he looked at Amalea. "I don't recognize any accent other than American."
"I'm Italian actually. My parents are just business people, thought English is a good skill to have." She then looked at the boy, "So was that your liaison?"
Izuku nodded. "Mike is a good guy."
"That's cool! Mine is very uptight. Very strict with the rules and all." Amalea said. Next to her, Mia snorted. "She gave us a full paper of what we're allowed to do and what isn't allowed."
The boy cringed a bit at that. "I have to discuss some things with my roommate as well. That paper could be handy!" Izuku brightened up. "Say, Amalea. My liaison said that we're most likely going to have lessons together."
"Mine said that as well." The italian nodded, "Al though I didn't know it'd be you."
Izuku smiled at her. "It's nice to meet you two!" he said cheerfully. "If I can ask, what are your quirks?"
Mia smiled, taking every chance to talk about it. "I can make illusions! They can go up to 20 meters and are tangible on command."
Izuku gaped at her, "So you can just make anything!" he asked.
Mia nodded.
"So like, huge tall buildings?!"
"Huge tall buildings on command." Mia nodded, "It doesn't destroy buildings, it just accepts the space and something along those lines."
"That's so cool!" He gaped and then looked at Amalea.
"My quirk is called Engine." She said, "I can take anything apart." She had a slight frown on her face, "It also lets me pick apart personalities, so it naturally makes me cautious of others." She then laughed and looked at the black haired boy in front of her.
"So you just get to see their personalities?" Izuku said with wide eyes.
"I can't describe it other than a gut feeling." She shrugged, "That's why I like building stuff more. That I can actually show." Amalea said and grabbed a miniature tamagotchi from her keychain.
Her eyes then glowed and the tamagotchi levitated above them. In a straight line it was disassembled. Amalea then grabbed onto a part and inspected it. "I need to clean the dust off." She shrugged and put it back.
"Bloody hell." Mia gasped.
Izuku looked at her, "Language!" He scolded.
"English!" Mia retorted.
Amalea snorted and held a fully assembled tamagotchi. "Since my quirk is called 'engine' it also has its side effects. The more 'fuel' I eat, or otherwise known as food. The longer I stay up."
"Do you also have side effects with sleep?" Izuku spoke up.
Amalea raised her eyebrows at him. "Did you get access to a lot of places so you can continue your progress at this compound?"
Mia groaned. "I'm a light sleeper. You two being best friends will give me sleep deprivation."
Izuku smirked, "I only have to sleep five hours for a whole week." He said.
"Feed me and I'll stay awake with you."
"Good thing I can cook!" He said excitedly.
After months, everyone turned into friends. The closest group of friends in the compound are definitely Izuku, Achilles, Mia and Amalea.
You'd think that Izuku and Amalea are the ones who are always calm and collected, the ones who watch over the two chaotic pairs.
No, you'd think wrong.
Izuku and Amalea. Are absolutely menaces.
Amalea picks apart some of their support gears and continuously adds small poppers to it. You can literally imagine Achilles use 'dash' during training, because of his quirk, he uses headcovers to not end up having damaged brains and stuff.
So he wears a cool motorcycle helmet. It has a bunch of other options.
When Achilles and Mia look away talking to one another, helmet laid to the side. Izuku would slip into his ghost mode with a pre-made bag. Amalea using her quirk disassembles the helmet while Izuku puts a popper on top of the protection.
They immediately put it back together and it is as if it was never moved.
That was a happy little accident.
For training in stealth and tactics to scare or intimidate. They even had gotten permission from their teacher to start doing all of this. Of course, it took a lot of coaxing.
Izuku just offered to make his mother's ingredients
The trainer folded and let them do something special for Halloween.
The two were planning ahead weeks beforehand. It all started with getting Mike and his (espionage and stealth) trainer in on it. He is by far, the chillest and laid back liaison. That good thing is, Mike is actually good friends with Amalea's liaison, so her strict attitude mellowed out. Especially when she got a kick out of it from their pranks.
A week before. Izuku would use his quirk and go through the walls. Banging doors and howling in the hallways. Sometimes he would just put his arms through doors and just wave them around.
Once someone screams, he immediately goes invisible and returns back to the library. The main room of operations.
Amalea would sit at one of the computers, grinning at it. All on camera of a frantic Mia and Achilles running out of their rooms.
Then they started to accuse one another. "You used your illusions to scare me!" Achilles accused.
Mia then made a taken aback face, "Bloody Mary! That wasn't me!" She then pointed a finger at the boy's chest, "You've been knocking your blimey rock hard head to bang against my door!"
It's clear to say that a video of them after a late night of training with the whole group was being circulated around the liaisons.
The video was a sweaty Achilles and Mia walking back to their dorm. Amalea and Izuku stayed behind. Of course, the two didn't think much of it.
With applying blooky sfx make-up in his ghost mode. He floated under the floor, deciding to spook Mia a bit. He reached out with the bottom of his shoes and made her fall over it.
"Achilles!" She accused.
The boy held up his hands and denied all accusations.
Izuku then floated under the floor, down to the end of the hallway. Making sure that they see a faint bright glow from him. With his weak telekinesis he grabbed onto one of the plants in their hallway and shifted it.
"You see that!" Achilles shouted and pointed at it.
"See what?" Mia asked.
"You're making illusions again aren't you? That's why you're playing dumb." Achilles now accused.
"Did you just call me dumb?" The brit now started to fold her sleeves up.
Izuku then started putting his hands above the floor surface. Grabbing around for it.
Achilles then jumped into the air and held onto the girl. "You're seeing that too, right?!" He asked frantically.
Mia nodded, frightened.
Izuku then stood in front of them, invisible. With a slight smirk. He started with icing their shoes.
Then he appeared. With a bloody face Achilles and Mia screamed.
Dr. Fox is their teacher. They basically teach everything they need. They're already halfway through freshman level. She would say that if they continue like this they might have to teach them college level in a year or two.
Which definitely got them more excited. They already spent so much of their free time studying, the rest of the time they spend setting up pranks together.
Their liaisons practically begged for them to get another hobby. So they did, not that it's even better than the things they did before.
Amalea began to learn how to build things from scratch and program. She only has a small chance percentage of explosions.
While Izuku spends his time in both simulators, mastering weapons, he is busy watching different clips from heroes and villains to analyze their quirks. Sometimes, Hernandez drops by and gives him a clip from a vague camera.
Then he'd have to analyze their quirk and break it down so that the police could search for it in their database. He liked helping them.
Hernandez stood at a podium. "Now it has been three years since you all entered this program." He started his speech off with, "Now, you'll be going to a summer camp that the HPSC will be supervising."
Everyone of the 13-year olds looked at one another. They only have had a few days of workshops with their officers. But now a summer camp?
Vadim Molniya, the guy with a complex electrical quirk put his hands in the air. "How long will we stay there?" His thick russian accent spread through the crowd.
"For two weeks. You'll be training non-stop with them to further develop your quirk." He explained. "Your liaisons will stay here and no communication to the outside world as it would provide distractions."
Murmurs spread through the crowd.
"Don't be afraid to ask your liaisons questions for now. Wheels up this Monday precisely 1030."
Izuku had a gut feeling that he wasn't going to like this. Neither would his mom. But he still has this weekend to hang out with his family.
He felt someone tug on his arm. Amalea stood next to him and leaned in, "Parents are out on a business trip. Can I stay with you?"
Izuku nodded, "I don't think that my parents would mind. I did make plans with a friend of mine though. If you're okay with that."
The Italian nodded, "I'm cool with that. Thanks." Then a certain brit squealed from next to them. "I'm staying in town too! Where is my invitation?" She pouted.
