Chapter 5:

On day three Cipher was allowed to patrol alone. Although he does have to report to Gran everyone once in a while. He goes on patrol as many hours as he is allowed and works on the pile of paperwork once he returns to the agency.

At the end of every week, money comes into his bank account and he didn't think that he would've been paid that much. Well, he was wrong. He already gets paid for being in the paladins' program, it was enough for some poorer parents to keep themselves up and treat their kid every weekend.

Izuku liked that about the program. They do their best to help.

In other families, some money just goes to their college or future bank. So they'll be comfortable. With how long they have been in the program, it would be safe to say that there is enough piled up.

Cipher doesn't mind paying for some food for the homeless. If he was a bit older he probably would've volunteered at some shelters. Until then he'll just buy food and some necessities.

The young hero sat on top of a building. Crouched on a right corner looking over at the street. It was turning dark, keeping an eye on his interface he stands up and turns to his left. Taking a run, he jumps over to the other building. 'Time to head back to the agency.' He thought as he pulled his legs between his positioned arms. Jumping over a cooler box.

Noticing a commotion that shot some trash in the air. He kept running until he neared the alley, he then jumped and held himself up by the ledge of the building. He then turns around and lets himself fall.

He catches his fall with flight and just hovers above the ground and catches a trash bag launched at the other hero on the scene. "Hey! Here to help!" He shouted and avoided a kick from the second villain who had hammers for hands.

"I can't get close enough." The female hero called out. Izuku nodded and once again ducked as a hammer was headed towards him.

He grabbed the left arm of Hammer Time and used the side of his right hammer to punch his forehead. Cipher then uses his bio-electricity to knock them out.

After the training accident with Vadim, he had learned how to use it as a weapon and a generation started. He doesn't understand why Vadim has a bad gut feeling about Izuku's scar though.

"Got this one out!" He shouted and Cipher ran up a bit further ahead and stood next to the hero. "Quirk?"

"Projectiles! You damn heroes." The villain began to monologue. "I've been getting some damn homeless people for my projects and then you come along and fight me off?" The man broke a worn-out chair and threw it as a spear.

"Uh, yeah?!" Cipher replied, like, it's obvious. He can't just let a villain pick up some guys from the streets and use them as a science project. He then catches the makeshift spear as it was thrown towards another guy. Damn, he looked sketchy, those eyebags could be a sign of drug use.

"He's with me! Don't attack him." The female hero next to him called out. Cipher dropped the makeshift weapon and looked at the guy.

"Quirk?"

"I can make guys go quirkn't!" The guy replied with the most tired tone ever. Cipher snorted at his word use, he then nudged the other pro hero next to him without taking his eyes off of the villain.

"Sleep gas!"

Izuku nodded and floated, "You're gonna feel a tad sick after this, sorry!" He grabbed onto her and turned invisible, taking her with him.

Cipher had pulled her up by the waist and got her close. The eye bag guy glared at the villain with bright glowing red eyes. The projectile villain shouted in the distance as he threw his next projectile on the ground and stomped on it. "Fuck you! Where did those other two go?"

"I don't know mate. Marco?!" The guy shouted out.

"Polo!" the female replied, Cipher stopped right next to the villain and dropped the pro hero, making her visible once again. She immediately let out from her stomach.

Cipher turned visible once again and huffed. Then, his eyelids grew heavy and he dropped next to the villain on the ground.

"Midnight!" The guy wined, "You did it again. That isn't rational to inform him to not breathe it in."

"Stop being so emo, Eraser." She pouted and slapped some capture tape around the villains' wrists. "We'll have to wait until he wakes up. I used a fairly weak one."

The guy just sighed and pulled a phone out of his pocket. "This is all your fault."

The woman just shrugged and sat down on the ground next to the knocked out hero. Putting his head on her lap.

Light dawned down his eyes. Izuku blinked as he felt the familiarity of his hero costume, shifting he finally opened his eyes just to see.

Underboobs.

Right, right, right. In a panic he blurted out, "You tend to do this a lot don't you?"

A snort was heard from the left side of him and he tilted his head. Embarrassed as he saw the tired looking guy he turned intangible and sunk into the ground.

The female hero then stood up and stomped on the ground. "Come on. Get out. It's not nice to leave a lady waiting."

Cipher popped his head out, "Waiting for what?" He asked with a tilt of the head.

"Dinner."

"Kayama-chan." The hobo boy said with a tired voice, "You're an adult. Pay for your own dinner."

The young hero popped out of the ground right next to the hobo guy. "Yeah! I'm a minor as well. This could be harassment."

Hobo guy snorted, "We're gonna be good acquaintances."

"You look like you slept in the trash. Rather laid around in it other than sleeping." Cipher bit at him.

"Shirakumo would be best buddies with you if he saw you here. Besides, who're you calling old." Kayama-chan bit.

Cipher put his hand in the air. "I am. I basically got flashed boobs."

"And now you're using humor to deflect the situation." The guy made his eyes turn red and Cipher turned back into Izuku. "And you insulted me."

Now Izuku just shrugged, pushing his black and green highlights out of his eyes and wiping down his glasses. "And now you've seen my civilian identity and unlawfully used your quirk on me." He retorted.

The guy just clicked his tongue.

Izuku then paled, "How long was I out?"

"Fifteen minutes." Kayama-chan answered, "I gave the villains a bit more after you were knocked out."

Izuku stretched and paled as notifications popped up on his interface. His phone went off. "Oh god, this is-" the guy panicked, "I was supposed to have an uneventful patrol and I am late to be back at the agency." He crouched down and ran a hand through his hair as he reached for his phone to pick up the call.

"Torino-san." He answered with fake cheer. Loud shouts are heard from the caller. The three winced in sync. Knowing all too well how it is being with someone loud. "Yes sir. I got held up," The boy opened his mouth, looking offended, "Sir. I am capable of avoiding your kicks. Give it a few years and I'll wheel you into a retirement home."

Kayama made a choking sound.

"Yes, I had a good nap. Unlike you, I only need three hours of sleep in a week!" Hobo guy made a jealous noise, "With how old you are I'm surprised you aren't falling asleep the moment you sit on a chair."

More shouting was heard and Izuku stood up and adjusted his glasses.

"Yes, I am calling you old. What you going to do? Kick me?" Loud shouting, "Respectfully, you'd break your whole spine." Izuku bit back. "Kidding." He scoffed and pulled his phone from his ears, against his chest as shouting was still heard.

"Sounds intense." Kayama snorted.

"It's only day three and the guy is already taking away my patrol privileges," Izuku whined.

"Day three and you talk to your 'Torino' guy like that?"

Izuku shrugged and looked at the guy with a deadpan look. "He wanted someone with bite." Midoriya smiled, "I can bite."

Kayama wiggled her eyebrows at him. "Bite me instead."

Midoriya cringed a bit. "No thank you. When is the ETA for the police?"

Hobo guy spoke up. "Any time now. They have a new guy on their force." Izuku retracted the phone from his chest back to his ear and repeated what the scarf guy said.

"Yeah yeah. I'll pick up some taiyaki, old man." Izuku said and hung up, immediately pocketing it. He looked at his surroundings and turned his ghost most back on.

Scratching the side of his mask he squinted at the two young heroes. "Names?"

"Eraserhead and Midnight." The lady purred and seductively walked her way to the boy. "What about you handsome?" She said and poked his chest.

"The Underaged hero: Cipher." He heard Eraserhead snort once again.

Holding a box full of taiyaki he walked into the agency. Slightly annoyed, Midnight probably has good lawyers for her to continue hitting on her like that. He passed out a snack at the front desk and made his way to the elevator.

Once the door opened at the office level he ducked. "You know there is a board with no fighting." He grumbled and looked at the offender's weapon of choice.

A disk. "Seriously?" He snorted, "Getting creative." Holding up the box, he joked, "Nearly killed the fishes. Literally, save the turtles or something."

With a snort the man let Cipher walk in further without a threat of a weapon. He did pass out some snacks to the remaining few left at the agency and walked into Gran Torino's office.

"You're giving me gray hair, kid." The man said and grabbed the snack.

"You already have gray hair, Torino." Cipher went back into Izuku and he adjusted his glasses again. "Besides, we'd be matching otherwise." With a grin, the boy bit into the taiyaki.

"Matching." Torino snorted, "I've already had Endeavor hear of my formidable 'sidekick' and asked if you were my secret lovechild." The man shook his head, "Fucking zygote. Locals are asking that now as well." The gray-haired man complained.

Izuku shrugged, "Do I still have my patrolling rights?"

"Hm." The man huffed. "You're thirty minutes late."

"Another sidekick decided it was time for me to take a nap." The boy groaned and leaned back in his chair, eyes looking upwards, directly into the lights. "Police had a rookie on their hands so they were taking their sweet time."

"Sounds like a struggle." the man then said, with a huge grin, mind you. "Good."

"Geez, such a good mentor." Izuku clicked his tongue, "I'm just thinking about what will happen during week two." He whined and took a bite out of his taiyaki. "I got hit on by someone as well. Not my type but she was very naked and very exposed."

"Probably her quirk." The man said, "Now, get to your paperwork! I ain't gonna do it for ya boy."

Izuku made sure to drag his feet out of his office.

(It's a pain to make it centered each time)

On day five he had the day off. Which he spent studying, as per usual. Who knew that learning how to teach could be easily mentally draining as you think it would be? Normally he wasn't that bored if he could spend the whole day sleeping, he would! Like, his parents are out on some rural exploring, while they left because they thought Izuku had to work.

Honestly, the boy didn't even know about his day off until he entered Gran Torino's office. Just his luck and to cure the boredom, he just goes outside and walks into random stores and places.

Other than that, he's still a growing boy. Essentials like grocery shopping are needed, not like Mike is out to scold him about his eating habits. Same as his traveling habits, meaning that if you have a special travel card from HPSC you abuse the fuck out of it, meaning, you take random busses and just wing it.

He walked in at the self-service store and grabbed a bunch of things. He did look at the appetizing ice cream when he heard voices and a ring of a bell that signaled another customer, -er, customers.

Izuku did snap his head up at the group when he heard one of them mention, 'Cipher.' The boy smirked when he recognized the girl of the group. Walking (more like hiding) behind a shelf he acted as if he was interested in buying, Gran Torino hero merch?

God, the old man follows him everywhere.

"He said he only needed three hours of sleep a week." the girl's voice called out with a scoff. "Imagine the stamina he has."

"You only met the guy once." A familiar tired voice called out.

Another voice laughed, "Don't you see, Sho-kun? Kayama-chan finally find someone that actually wants to tease her!"

"You're here too!" A loud voice called out.

Izuku nodded in understanding, thinking back at the mutual wince when they heard how loud Gran can be if he wants.

"Yeah! But I'm not interested in Kayama-chan!" The guy retorted, "Kayama is like my sibling!"

"We even have sushi!"

Izuku snapped his hands, "Sushi, right." He said under his breath and abandoned all means of listening to their conversation. He walked towards the group.

None of them looked up, wow, great spacial awareness, guys.

He saw that Nemuri stood separated from the group in an aisle as she roamed in the fridge. Holding back a grin, he reached into the fridge as well and hoped to find sushi, he is, after all, a man on an embarking quest. "Excuse me, can you wait?" Kayama said with the most annoyed tone he heard.

"Huh, sushi isn't here." He replied.

Kayama turned red. "Oh no." She whispered under her breath. The annoyed tone must've drawn attention from the three guys with her. Although, 'Sho-kun' had an arm out that held the two other boys back with a grin on his face.

Izuku bit back a laugh this time. "You know, I was thinking of running. While I only need three hours of sleep," the boy looked at her face, turning a lot redder than it should be able to. "I still have a lot of stamina." He shrugged, "Anyways, know where the sushi is?"

"U-Uh," Kayama opened her mouth and closed it again, "In the fridge behind us."

A guy with hair for clouds called out before Izuku could get a move on his target. "We were thinking of getting sushi in a place in this area. Join us?"

Izuku could swear he heard the hobo guy hiss at him. With a grin, he answered the cloud guy's question, "Oh yeah, today is my day off. I'd like to join you guys."

"I do need to know all of your names though." He then looked at the woman next to him. "Although, I do know your name, Kayama-san." He purred.

Just when he thought Kayama calmed down, she flared up again.

The guy with the sunglasses burst out laughing. "Oh god, he got you good. I'm Hizashi Yamada, otherwise known as Present Mic."

"You already know my hero name, but my name is Shouta Aizawa." Izuku nodded and looked at the other guy.

"Oboro Shirakumo! Loud Cloud is my other name."

Izuku snorted, "I can see that." He teased, "Izuku Midoriya, otherwise known as Cipher." He introduced himself.

"So, Midoriya. You have a day off?" Yamada asked, pointing a pair of chopsticks in his direction.

He nodded and whined, "No more patrols for me today."

"You only get three hours of sleep a week," Aizawa repeated.

"If you might repeat it you'll believe it." He sighed. "Aren't interrogations more, like, pow! Pow!"

Shirakumo shrugged, "This isn't an interrogation." cleared his throat and then pointed chopsticks at him, accusingly.

Izuku just stared at the guy.

"What are your intentions with Kayama-chan?"

A laugh erupted from his mouth, "I have no interest in Kayama-san." He said and nudged her side. "I would like to get back at her though. She got me knocked out when I was supposed to report back to my agency. The old man got mad at me."

"You aren't scared of losing your spot as a mentee?" Aizawa asked with a slight glare in his eyes.

"I told you, the man wanted bite. I can bite." Izuku answered, and then shrugged, "Either way, my spot there is guaranteed by the program I'm in."

Kayama frowned, "Program?"

"Yeah. Tomorrow's Paladins." He answered and stuffed a piece of sushi in his mouth.

"Sounds a bit egotistical," Yamada mentioned, meanwhile, Kayama dropped her chopsticks.

She straightened her back and ironed her blazer with her hands. "You're telling me that you were selected for an elite program. Known all over the world?"

Izuku shrugged and took a sip of his drink. "Yeah."

The three guys looked very confused. That made Izuku very amused. "How far ahead are you in school? Is that why you're not in school? Like you're supposed to be in America."

After shoveling another fresh piece of sushi in his mouth, Izuku shrugged, "Technically, I'm ahead in education terms already." He answered, "I'm here on my work-study. Everyone is sent back home and assigned to some random hero with a good status."

Aizawa looked at the guy for as long as he could before his dry eye acted up. "You mean that you are in a special program and are ahead of us in terms of school."

"Depends, what school and year are you in?"

"Kayama-chan is a senior in high school and we are juniors."

Izuku nodded, "Then yes. I'm ahead, halfway through my college education."

With wide eyes, Yamada looked like he was about to scream. Just a glare from Aizawa was enough to just keep it down.

"If you all are juniors you gotta be nice to me cause I'm younger."

Shirakumo smiled while Aizawa huffed and puffed, "Nice way to rub it in, Midoriya-san."

Midoriya just shrugged.

'You didn't have to pay." Kayama said. "We have money."

Izuku just looked at her, "You're an adult Kayama. Finish school and then we'll talk about footing the bill."

"He's totally rubbing it in now," Hizashi whined.

The youngest nodded, "Oh I am. Saw your reaction." He answered and fished a taiyaki out of his grocery bag.

"Since you're like, in a special program. How smart are you?" Shirakumo asked, stretching his arms behind him.

"Can you specify?" Izuku asked.

"What major you study?"

"Majors," Izuku corrected and then answered the question. "Teaching, quirk and law."

"What languages do you speak?" Shirakumo asked.

"I'm a polyglot, while I'm currently not studying anything. I do know Russian, Spanish, Arabic, Hindi, German and obviously English and Japanese."

"Aside from crazy languages, hobbies?"

Izuku just smiled at Kayama and answered her question, "Well, since my sleeping habits aren't ideal. I spend my time analyzing quirks, studying, training and doing random simulators. Gaming is something I do as well."

Shirakumo just blinked and Hizashi jaw fell on the ground.

"It's rational of you to spend your time like that."

"Thank you, Aizawa." Izuku replied and stopped when Kayama stopped. "This is your school?" He asked.

They all nodded. "Looking fancy and prestigious. Good job getting in."

Aizawa just squinted at the boy. "I don't know if he's messing with me or if he genuinely doesn't know of U.A.?"

Izuku's eyes widened, "This is U.A.?" He asked himself loudly, ignoring the glaringly bright sign of U.A. "I remember! All Might went to school here, right?"

"Yes."

"Cool." The polyglot pulled his phone out of his pocket and took a selfie with the sign. "It's only 4 am in America. I doubt my friend would see this and flip." He snorted. "Well, it was nice to meet you." Izuku said and looked at the coffee bar across the school. "Villain fight happening." He said as his glasses faintly lit up.

"See you all another time." The boy said and sprinted inside the store and ran into their toilet stalls.

If he were someone else, he would no doubt wonder if the young boy who ran inside like a mad man just threw up light and disappeared in some kind of magic passageway. Because the kid isn't there anymore.

Flying outside and through the wall, Cipher waved at the U.A. students who just looked at him, while Hizashi just scoffed, "Show-off."

"His grocery bag is going to rip if he flies like that." Aizawa said, amused.

While Shirakumo and Kayama just shared a look. "Bisexual panic?" Kayama asked with a slight blush on her face.

Shirakumo nodded, a blush tainting his face as well. "Yeah. I can see why you raved about his costume."

Kayama just blinked and turned even redder. "He heard my comments about him in the store." She said and Yamada just burst out laughing with his quirk activated.

A red glowing glare is enough to shut him up.

"How did you even know of his program, Kayama-chan?"

"Nezu is very wary of these types of programs. Says he's been keeping an eye on some just to get a peace of mind."

"I'm sure we'll meet him some other time. I don't think Dr Nezu would appreciate it if we stayed outside."

They all shuddered at the mention of the chimera. It was everywhere, while he was still a teacher. His power over the school is quite insane.
