The morning sun tickled Jinx's nose, who growled silently in response. Jinx turned around, trying her best to avoid the bright sunlight, which was shining through the open window on the other side of the room.

But all of her efforts were in vain. The sun had made its way into the bright room and forced the blue haired woman to wake up.

She slowly opened her eyes and rolled on her back, before covering her face with the back of her hand. Another growl.

She slept so tightly. So calmly. Did it really have to end now? She breathed in deeply, her lungs filling with the freshest air she had ever breathed, before starting to think about last night.

She thought about Lux, the hug and the moment of weakness and how… How they almost kissed.

Jinx's heart started to race when remembering the blonde's warm breath on her lips, so close, she could almost already taste her lip balm. Why didn't she do it? Why did she get scared? She should have kissed her there and then. She shouldn't have been so afraid.

"Fucking idiot." Jinx whispered to herself, barely audible.

That's when she realized, the woman who she seemingly fell in love with, didn't lay next to her, like she had been when they fell asleep arm in arm.

Jinx removed the hand from her eyes and looked onto the other side of the bed. Empty.

Jinx shot up, the soft blanket falling from her chest, revealing her brown top, in which she slept in.

She laid one hand onto the other side of the bed. It was still warm. Lux had been there, not too long ago. But why did she leave?

Jinx threw the blanket away from her and let her legs hang from the side of the bed, before looking over her shoulder towards the empty bed again. Maybe she was just imagining things. Maybe this feeling wasn't real. Never was.

Jinx let her head fall, realizing that her one chance of happiness was most likely already gone. Then her thoughts were interrupted by the opening of a door.

The blue haired woman snapped her head around to the sound, when her heart plummeted into a bottomless pit, from what she saw.

Lux came out of the bathroom, the steam of the shower following her like a tail. All she wore around her body was a large towel, which covered most of it from Jinx's view.

"Good Morning, Jinxie!" Lux greeted her in a high, cheering voice.

Jinx's thoughts ran wildly, while simply looking at the half naked girl in awe.

"Is everything alright?" The blonde asked, reaching out one of her hands and touching the blue haired woman softly on the shoulder.

Jinx looked up and into Lux's eyes. The beguiling scent of the freshly showered woman bringing a smile to her face.

Finally finding her composure again, Jinx answered, "Yes, yes… Good morning to you too, Lux."

The standing girl gave her a bright smile, while tilting her head to the side, just a little.

"I need to get dressed, Jinxie, okay?" She said, before turning around, letting her hand softly glide off of the sitting girl's shoulder and walking towards the closet on the wall.

She opened the large door, which covered her entire body from Jinx's view, before the blue haired girl saw the towel falling to the ground.

Jinx turned her head away again, towards the pillow she had slept on just the night prior, letting her head think about the naked girl, standing just a few feet away from her.

Don't look, Jinx. Just like… Focus on the wall. She looked up towards the blue, golden painted wall. Don't think about how she could look behind that door, Jinx. Just. Don't. Think about it!

"Alright, how do I look?", Lux asked after a while, before stepping out from behind the wooden door again.

She revealed her body, now clothed in fine silk, before walking towards the still sitting girl.

With a racing heart, Jinx turned towards the blonde again, before answering with a smile, "You look amazing, Lux."

The Demacian softly grabbed the woman's jaw to slowly lift it up, for the two girl's eyes to meet.

"Thank you, Jinxie." The blonde whispered, while tenderly stroking her cheek with her thumb.

Jinx couldn't stand to look her in the eyes however. Last night still haunting her thoughts. The missed kiss, which she should've given her, but couldn't.

"Jinxie, what's wrong?" Lux whispered, seeing the clear distress in her partner's eyes.

The blue haired woman stood up, separating Lux's touch from her jaw and turning away, holding her arm nervously.

With a racing heart and shaking body, she answered, "I… We… This… I just… I don't think that it would work… Lux…" her voice was filled with pain from her own words.

Lux stumbled a step back, before letting her head sink down, "Oh…" her bright smile vanished, leaving behind a deeply saddened, teary face, which's look was fixated on the ground beneath her.

"It's not because of you!" Jinx screamed, grabbing both of the blonde's hands, desperately trying to make her feel better.

"It's because of me! I'm the problem here!" Jinx pleaded, hoping it would make the girl before her cheer up again, but it didn't work.

The blue haired woman noticed something dripping onto her boots, the sound of it being a painful answer to her words.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

More and more, until she could also hear a soft whimper, "How could you be the problem? Don't you feel it as well?"

Jinx shook her arms wildly while answering, "Of course I do! I do feel it, it's just that-"

"What?" Lux's head shot up, their gazes meeting again, only this time, the blonde's eyes were wet with tears.

Jinx's chest was heaving, her head was racing. She didn't know how to put it into words, when she just started, "I… I killed people. A lot of people. Men, women, children, I killed so many, Lux. I'm a wanted criminal. I wish I could just leave my past behind me, but no matter how hard I try, it always catches up!"

The blonde looked deep into Jinx's eyes, which were also starting to get wet from her own tears.

The Demacian's next move was a quick and tender one. She wrapped her arms around the blue haired woman and rested her head on her shoulder for a tight and warm hug.

"It's okay, Jinxie. The past is the past. I've also done things I'm not proud of. But we can't change that. These mistakes are the things that make us who we are." Lux softly whispered into the crying girl's ear.

"You… You still want me?" Jinx whispered, not believing her ears.

"Jinxie. Of course I want this." The blonde said, while breaking the hug and pushing back, to meet the blue haired woman's eyes again, while holding her hands, "I want you."

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

A heavy and aggressive knock on the door ripped the two women out of their moment.

"Miss Crownguard! We will miss the Hexgate ship! We need to leave!" A voice from outside called.

Lux turned towards Jinx, who whispered in a soft voice, "You need to leave already, Lux?"

'I'm sorry, Jinxie… This visit was only planned as a short one from the start…" Lux apologized, her head sinking down a little once more, before turning around and letting her hands glide out of Jinx's.

The blonde walked away slowly, hoping, begging for something to stop her. And thankfully, her wishes were heard.

A hand grabbed her wrist, pulling hard, making the young blonde twirl around, only for her body to fall into Jinx's arms, and their faces crashing into each other.

Their lips collided in an explosion of love and passion, their tongues twisted around each other between their mouths, imperfect but perfect at the same time. The damp lips of Lux tasted like paradise, and her tight grip around her back felt like the warmth of the sun, warming up her entire body.

Lux's heart started racing and her chest started heaving. When she felt the rough hands of Jinx grabbing onto both of her cheeks, pressing their faces closer together, she was close to collapsing from pure, unfiltered pleasure.

The moment ended, with Lux slowly pushing away the blue haired woman from her face, looking at her with a warm glance.

"Jinx, I love-" she was interrupted by Jinx who pressed their lips together again.

Jinx's hands wandered wildly over Lux's back, while their tongues explored the insides of each other's mouth, with a passion.

Jinx pushed her face away again, leaving the blonde in a state of surprise and pleasure.

"I love you too, blondie." The blue haired girl whispered with a smile, breathing heavily.

Lux started to smirk, "Blondie?"

"I tend to give people I like nicknames. Like you." She said, almost mockingly.

Lux giggled, before giving her another quick kiss on the lips.

"I love you, Jinxie." She said once again, before turning around towards the door again, "Please wait for me, okay? I'll come back. For you."

"Always." Jinx said, in the most honest, heartfelt tone she ever had.

Lux proceeded to open the door and walk out afterwards, leaving Jinx alone in the hotel room.

The blonde left the building and walked back to the gigantic Hexgate tower, where she arrived three days ago.

On her way there, even Jayce wished her goodbye, but she barely noticed him. Her mind was too focused on Jinx. Too focused on the kiss. Too focused on love.

Without her even realizing how quick she was, she already sat in the Hexgate Ship, ready to leave for Demacia.

Lux looked out of the window one last time, laying her eyes upon the City of Progress when in the distance, on top of a roof, she could make out a figure looking at her.

The blonde squinted her eyes, to make out who it was, and sure enough, it was Jinx. Waving at her.

With a faint smile, Lux waved back, before the ship disappeared through the Hexgate.
