The soldier yanked Violet into one of the bedrooms, kicking the door open with his boot and it swung and smashed against the wall, frightening her. He finally let go of her arm and wandered inside the room. There was a double bed in the middle, two beside tables either side with lamps and furniture across the other end. A window on the far wall with blinds drawn. It was cosy like the rest of the rooms. The wool rug on the floor completed the look.

Violet wasn't sure how this was going to work. Was he going to sleep in bed with her? Was he going to… rape her? Is that was his mission was?

Violet suddenly felt scared and uncomfortable, and she stood awkwardly in the door frame. She looked over her shoulder, wondering if she had enough time to dash to the door and make a run for it while his back was turned but she knew that was impossible. Not with him increased speed and reflexes.

"You take the bed" he ordered, and he slammed his gun on the chest of draws opposite the bed, making Violet jump.

"Where are you going to sleep?" she asked as she waddled inside. The soldier pulled out a wooden chair, the legs scraping on the floor and perched himself there.

"I'm not" he said simply.

It was clear he was intending to stay up tonight and keep guard. There goes another chance of escape. Violet looked down at her cuffed hands and then held them out. There was no way she'd be able to sleep with them on.

"Please can you take these off, I won't be able to sleep with them on" she asked softly, and the soldier looked to her, eyes with a warning.

"Please" she pleaded, and the soldier stood up, walking slowly towards Violet. She started to back up until her back hit the wall and she gasped under her breath as the soldier stood very close to her, his chest almost touching hers. Violet stared up at him, their eyes locking, and she felt captured under his stare. The closeness was intense, and Violet felt that nervous tingle in her body again, the one she felt by the door earlier. His strong cologne hit her lie a toxic gas and she tensed her body against the wall to stay focused.

His hands grabbed hers, his metal one cold like ice and she shivered at the touch. A click sounded and Violet looked down to see him undoing the cuffs, the metal rattling and jangling and suddenly her wrists were free, the cold air hitting the sore skin that was red and tender, stinging like a bee. The soldier dropped the cuffs on the bedside table beside them, not taking his steel blue eyes off Violet.

"You're going to behave…aren't you" he said dominantly, and Violet swallowed hard before nodding.

"Yes" she answered.

"Good, because I would hate to have to hurt you" he whispered softly and Violet nodded again, a loss for words. The soldier's eyes flickered down to her lips, staring at them for a few seconds. Slowly he raised his metal hand, fingers glinting under the warm light, the metal clinking as he raised it to her neck, cupping it. The metal stung on her skin like ice, and he dragged it down slowly, sending a wave of shocks through her body. Violet was frozen and watched as his hand travelled down to her chest. The metal bit through her clothing and she flinched as he reached for stomach.

His eyes were still on her face and his breathing turned heavy. The silence grew around them, tension thickening. But just as he reached the bottom of her stomach, his hand pulled away and he retreated, his dark shadow leaving her. Violet let out the breath she was holding and relaxed against the wall.

"Shouldn't you rest too" Violet asked as she sat on the bed, the mattress squeaking. The soldier sat down on the chair, arm resting on the furniture and gun in hand.

"I don't need rest" he said simply.

Violet said nothing more and suddenly felt how tired she was. she slipped underneath the covers, snuggling in the warm sheets, her back towards the soldier. The lights flickered off and she was finally alone with her thoughts. She was confused and her brain was a scrambled mess of thoughts and ideas. She didn't know how she could be feeling this tingle inside her when this dangerous soldier has kidnapped her and taking her somewhere. What was worse was that even though she couldn't see him, she knew he was watching her, and watching her indeed.

….

Violet woke the next morning, sun shining through the gaps in the blinds, a warm ray of sunshine on her face, heating her skin. She shuffled in the bed, snuggling further into the pillow. She had fallen asleep pretty quickly, probably due to the long and very exhausting day with her kidnapper. Speaking of which, Violet slowly looked over her shoulder, peaking over it to catch of glimpse of him.

He was still sat in the chair, arm lazily hanging off the end of the chest of draws, gun drawn loosely in his metal fingers. But to her surprise, his eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling softly, the tell-tale signs of someone asleep.

This is it, my chance

If she was quiet enough, she could sneak out and make a run for it. She'd have to be super quiet and quick in order to get away. And perhaps he had left some weapons unattended in the living room. Violet felt her stomach turn into a ball of nerves and adrenaline. She took a few calming breaths, running over the plan in her head.

Quietly moving the covers off her body, she slid herself out of the bed. Thank God she had left her shoes on last night, despite it not being very comfy. But any chance for her to make a run she needed to take, and she had to be prepared. She slid herself onto her back and on her left side. The mattress squeaked a little and she slowed her movements down. this guy had good hearing like a hunting dog, her eyes were trained on the sleeping soldier like a cheetah and its dinner.

The tricky part was to get over to the door without making a sound. Violet pressed the tips of her feet onto the floorboard, placing light pressure and moving up from the bed. Still no noise. She crept slowly to the door, never looking away from the soldier. He didn't move, he didn't flinch. He seemed to be sound asleep, almost like he was in a coma. So much for not needing rest.

Violet reached the door and now the challenge of opening it only lies ahead. She took a shaky breath, her hand slowly reaching for the handle. The silence around her was an impending doom, making her more nervous for when the click would snap and break the silence. She was almost there, her fingers wrapping around the metal. It felt like his hand, the reminded her of that tingle that was sent shooting through her body. Her hand was there, ready to twist. A light squeak came from the action, and she bit the inside of her lip.

"Ahhh!" A hand snapped on her wrist, squeezing tightly, and ripped it away from the handle. Violet was shoved back into the wall. He was awake. His eyes dark and menacing. His hand snapped hers to the wall, restraining her. Violet gasped in shock, eyes wide and fearful.

"I thought you were going to behave" he said quietly, and Violet stuttered for an answer.

"I-I just need the bathroom" she rushed, her body shaking like a cold and wet puppy. The soldier held her there against the wall, chest now touching hers, his warmth radiating on her. Violet began to hyperventilate, panic running through her. She knew she had fucked up. She prayed he wasn't going to hurt her, but he seemed deadly serious about its last night. The grip on her wrist though began to loosen and after a stare down, the soldier dropped her wrist and stepped away.

He ripped open the door with his strength and nodded with his head, allowing her to go. She stepped away from wall slowly, her eyes still on him. She wasn't convinced he was being serious, letting her go freely like that but as she stepped out the bedroom and there was no reaction from him, she managed to relax and quickly rushed to the bathroom. As soon as she was inside, she lifted the seat up and projected the vomit that was threatening its way up her throat. She coughed into the toilet, tears reaching the edges of her eyes and she sniffled. It seemed like luck was not on her side.

After freshening up in the bathroom, she returned to the living room, hearing the soldier. He was packing away everything in the backpack, Violet assuming that they were leaving.

"Are we going?" she asked softly, fingers knotting together in front of her. She didn't want to leave, knowing that if they did, they'd be going to wherever the soldier was taking her to.

"We need supplies, I'll be getting them" he said gruffly, and Violet looked at him confused.

"You will stay here" he stormed over to her, grabbing her wrist, and yanking her back down the hallway to the bedroom. With a grunt he threw her into the bed and snatched her wrists, snapping the cold cuff on it and then locking the other to the bedpost. Violet yanked at it as if testing that it was locked securely and looked back to the soldier.

"When will you be back?" she asked in a panic as he began to walk away.

"Soon" he called over his shoulder. The sound of the door slamming alerted her that he had left, and Violet tugged at the cuff despite it doing nothing. She sighed and fell back onto the pillow, having no energy to even fight at this moment. How long was he going to be? All day?

Violet knew this was her chance to run but she couldn't with this damn handcuff. Violet looked to the bedside table, a lightbulb going off in her head. There must be something inside to help get the cuffs off. If only she had one of those guns of his, she could shoot up the bed. She ransacked the draw, drying to find something such as a bobbin pin or pair of tweezers or something to stick in the keyhole.

To her luck, a small paperclip was at the back of the draw, hiding away in the corner like a little ant. She grabbed it quickly, hands fumbling to open the metal and quickly work it into the keyhole.

"Come on" she muttered to herself, bending it this way and that way, praying for them to snap open. Violet gasped in delight as the sound came. The cuffs unwounded themselves and she snatched her hand away, rubbing her sore wrist. Her wrists were now developing harsh lines that would soon scar if they didn't get proper healing to them. She didn't want a reminded of all this either.

Wasting no more time, Violet ran to the front of the cabin, checking if the coast was clear. the soldier could be coming back anytime. Violet looked around the cabin for a weapon. There were no guns which was what she ideally needed but a knife was the next best thing. She slid the knife into the pocket of her jeans. She was hopped on adrenaline and fear, pacing around the kitchen trying to think of the next best move.

Her parents.

Violet searched high and low for a cell phone; one she could take with her. the best thing would to be to call her parents, tell them where she is and hope they would be able to track the call and find her. Luck must be on her side as she found a small cell phone stashed away in one of the draws in the living room. It was charged which must mean that the people living here had most likely been here not long ago.

Her fingers dialled the number quickly, her hand shaking as she lifted it to her ear. The ringing was torture, not knowing if they were going to pick up. But as soon as she heard her dad's voice, she couldn't help the tears flowing.

"Dad" she squeaked.

"Violet, where are you, are you hurt?" he rushed to say.

"I-I'm okay, I-I don't know where I am, in some forest".

"We're going to find you; it's going to be okay" he said comforting her.

"What's going on, this guy took me, he said I'm his mission but won't tell me what's going on" suddenly the voice of her mother sounded on the other end.

"Baby it's me, are you okay, has he hurt you" she asked.

"No, I'm okay mom, just scared. He's not here now, he went out to get supplies, but he'll be back any minute" Violet said scared.

"It's going to be okay, your father and I are on our way, get to a safe location in the forest, hide away in the bushes and keep us on the phone" her mother ordered. Violet shuddered as she ran to the door of the cabin, checking once more that he wasn't out there before ripping the door open and making a run for it.

The forest was huge, and Violet jumped through the trees and bushes to find somewhere safe to hide until her parents could find her. The forest was quiet which made everything scarier. She ducked underneath the low branches and searched for a large bush to hide in. her feet crunched on the leaves and twigs below, branches nipping at her legs, but she didn't care at this point. All that was on her mind was the deadly soldier coming back to find her gone and hunt her down. No doubt then he would hurt her.

Violet found a spot to hide in. A large bush with small red berries next to a fallen tree. She slid down onto the forest floor, mud and dirt staining her clothes and she quickly held the phone to her ear, whispering softly.

"Okay, I'm hidden… mom what's going on?".

"It's okay baby, we're tracing the call now and should have your location. Listen to me, that man who took you is dangerous, he's known as the winter soldier, and he will hurt you if he needs to okay" Violet felt sick to her stomach.

"Just stay hidden, we will find you. If he comes back or you see him, just be as quiet as you can, do you understand" she said seriously. Violet gulped and nodded.

"Okay mom, I wi- "suddenly a boom came from behind her, and a bullet flew past her, hitting the dirt floor and exploding into the air. Violet screamed in terror, looking over her shoulder. He had found her.

Standing on a boulder, his gun aimed at her, eyes narrowed as he set his target. Violet scampered up from the floor to make a run for it which probably wasn't the best idea. The soldier jumped from the boulder, running quickly to her, and catching her in no time. His super speed had the advantage over her, and he grabbed the back of her t-shirt, yanking her back. Violet grunted as she felt onto the floor, hitting her back. It was like falling on a pile of bricks. She groaned and coughed from the impact. Staring up, the soldier towered over her, his metal gripping a tight fist as he pulled it back and brought it down to punch her. Violet yelped and rolled to the side to miss the punch. A growl escaped the so-called winter soldier.

Violet crawled across the ground but was tugged back by her ankles when he grabbed them. She screamed and pulled her foot back, kicking him hard in the face, a grunt coming from him. something clattered on the ground, but she took no notice of it. Rushing to her feet, Violet reached for the knife in her back pocket, ready to take a stab at him. It was her only line of defence. But the soldier was quicker. His hand shot up and grabbed her throat, pushing her back into a tree, her back cracking against the bark.

Violet gasped, choking, and struggling for air as the metal fingers clamped around her windpipe, cutting off the air. The soldier looked up at her, eyes hard and mouth turned up in a scowl. And that's when she noticed… the mask, it was no longer on his face.

"Did you really think you could run from me" he growled and stepped forward, trapping her with his body. Violet whimpered as she stared up at him, hands desperately trying to remove his.

"Bucky?" she whispered, and his eyes narrowed at her.

"Who the hell is Bucky?".
