There was banging and grunting, and Violet whipped around to face the door, eyes wide with shock. The banging grew louder, echoing in the old building and as the sounds grew nearer to her cell, she began to recognise them as voices.

"Where is she!" It was Steve. Another grunt as a loud bang boomed down the hallway and Violet gasped softly to herself. It sounded like a body been thrown into the wall. Suddenly gunshots rang in hallway, bouncing off walls and doors. Violet pressed herself into the furthest wall, protecting herself encase anything smashed through the door.

"Violet!" her mother's voice yelled, and Violet suddenly felt a burst of relief.

Her parents were here, they had come to save her, to rescue her from the winter soldier.

"Mom" Violet yelled from inside the cell, running to the door to listen closely.

"I'm here" she screamed, and she heard running. She banged on the door, signalling her presence inside.

"Hold on, step back" her mother instructed, and Violet did, running backwards far away from the door. The banging and fighting were still going on down the hall, gun shots echoing and the sound of metal clanging.

Violet jumped as the door was kicked open, blown off the hinges as her mother kicked it. tears immediately came to her eyes as she saw her mom standing there, her fiery red hair a mess and her clothes scuffed.

"Oh baby" Natasha ran forward, instantly grabbing Violet into the tightest hug she had ever given her, holding her head close.

"Oh mom" she squeezed her tightly, burying her face in her mom's shoulder.

"It's okay, we're here" she whispered soothingly, and Violet pulled away.

"I thought you'd never find me, I thought…" the words were a jumbled mess, and she couldn't seem to fathom a coherent sentence, so many emotions filling her but Natasha shushed her.

"It's okay darling, you safe now. We have to go now though, we don't have much time" just as she said that Steve skidded into the cell, shield held in his right arm. His hair was tussled up and a few dirty marks rubbed on his face, a small cut on his head soaking his blonde hair.

"Dad" Violet called, and he rushed forwards, hugging her instantly, kissing her softly on the head.

"God, I thought we'd never find you" he whispered sadly, and Violet felt a sob in the pit of her throat. She had thought it too.

"Come on, we don't have much time" he said seriously and turned to leave the cell but stopped dead in his tracks.

Bucky glared from the doorway; arm held up with a gun in his hand. Without a second thought, he pulled the trigger, a bullet zooming and hitting Steve in the chest. He groaned in pain and fell to the floor, blood pouring out from his chest, his body still as a statue. Violet screamed in shock, seeing her father dead on the floor.

Natasha ripped her gun out, aiming at Bucky but wasn't quick enough. Another shot blasted and hit her in the head, knocking her dead in an instant and she fell to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Violet screamed in terror, backing up against the wall.

Dead. They were dead. Gone within a second. A startled sob escaped her, choking on her breathing and she glanced up when she heard boots pounding on the floor with Bucky advancing on her, his cold blue eyes staring deep into. He was a few inches away when his metal hand started to rise, and Violet gasped…

Violet let out a startled cry as she woke in a cold sweat, heavy breathing. She blinked into the dark cell, familiarising herself with her surroundings. It was quiet and she instantly looked to the floor, seeing it clear. No bodies, no blood, no parents.

It was a dream… more like a nightmare to be exact.

Violet sighed, pushing herself up on the bed, leaning against the wall and bringing her knees to her chest, hugging them tightly to shield herself into a safe space. She remembered that she had only been here no longer than twenty-four hours. In her dream it had felt like she had been here for days, weeks, months, you name it. it scared her to think that could happen. What if her parents never find her? What if she was doomed to spend the rest of her life in this tiny cell, never seeing her family again, never seeing her home, her friends.

It only just dawned on her now that the hospital probably was wondering what the hell was going on with her. She didn't know that her parents were fugitives, running from the law which was making things ten times more difficult for them. Surely there had to be an investigation into her disappearance. Her father was Captain America, there was no way the government would just let his daughter be taken like this.

But she didn't know Hydra. She didn't know the lengths they had gone to. She only knew that Bucky, her dad's most loyal friend had been turned into a deadly assassin and had kidnapped her.

His words crept back into her mind, and she shuddered at them.

Not if I kill them first

Would he really kill her parents? He seemed deadly serious about it and her nightmare only made her believe him more. It was scary, seeing this man who used to be her dad's best friend be so dangerous and that he didn't have a clue who Steve was. To him, he was just a problem that needed to be dealt with when the time came.

'No, I can't let my parents get hurt, I need to do something'.

Violet wrapped the blanket around her, shivering underneath and curled herself into a small ball. She needed a way of getting out of this cell. She had already escaped once and now Bucky was more vigilant and less trusting.

'Trust, that's what I need, I need him to trust me'.

It was going to be dangerous and risky, but it was the only safe and smart way out of this. The cells were locked, every door needed a code and her only way out of here is to wait until his guard is down and then make a move. That was if her parents hadn't gotten here first. It could be days, weeks until they found her or would they even be able to. It was clear where they were was an abandoned building and probably not even on the map. It must be a hideout belonging to the people Bucky is working for. And like he said, it was just him and her.

Violet slid down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling and began to devise a plan in her head of how she was going to do this.

….

"I can't see anything, what about you Sam" Steve said as he gazed out the jet, looking down to spot any helicopter. They had travelled all over the woods and were now reaching the outskirts. They had been searching all over for the helicopter Bucky and Violet were travelling in but had no luck.

"Nothing" Sam shook, and Natasha sighed, shutting her eyes as she sat at the back of the jet.

"Maybe we should head back, rethink" she suggested softly. It wasn't something she wanted to do, she wanted to keep searching until she found her daughter, but they were getting tired and needed to refresh. There was no point still searching now.

Steve looked to Sam with a look but agreed.

"You're right, we need to refresh, come back with fresh eyes" suddenly Steve's cell rang, and he pulled it out his jacket, furrowing his brows at the unknown number.

"Who is it?" Sam asked but Steve didn't know. He answered it hesitantly.

"Hello".

"Turn around, head south, you'll see a dam up ahead, there's a pad you can park the jet on" the voice was female and very familiar.

"Who is this?" he asked, looking at Sam with confusion.

"We'll see you in ten" the line hung up and Steve stared down at his phone.

"Who was it?" Natasha asked, panic settling in her voice.

"I don't know, but they want to meet, told us to turn around and head to a dam" he murmured. He was hesitant but there was a part inside him that told him to do exactly as he was told. It was his gut instinct. Steve began to turn the jet around, but Sam held his hand to stop him.

"Wait, what if they are working with S.H.I.E.L.D?" he said.

"I don't think they are I recognise the voice. If they were working with S.H.I.E.L.D, they would have gunned us down by now" Steve was right. If it had been S.H.I.E.L.D agents, they would have taken them by force.

Natasha looked between Steve and Sam but nodded, letting Steve turn the jet around. They followed the instructions, arriving at a dam in the middle of the forest. There was a pad to allow the jet to land at the bottom of the dam. It seemed strange that the person wanted them to meet here and was what even stranger was the door at the bottom. This didn't seem like any ordinary dam. When the jet landed, a figure immerged from the door. Natasha, Sam, and Steve jumped out the jet, walking towards the door and Steve blinked in surprise.

"Come on, he's waiting for you" Maria Hill nodded her head in the direction of the dam. The three of them were just as shocked to see her. Steve knew he recognised her voice. They followed her inside the dam and were shocked once again to see a large room filled with equipment. Computers, monitors, a wall of weapons, scanners. But what shocked them more than anything was the man sat at the round table in the middle.

"Well, it's about damn time you showed up".
