Brent Building

Los Angeles, Ca

Perry worked day and night throughout the first part of the week to get his client off from a murder charge with the help of his dutiful wife, Della Street. The court hearing wrapped up late in the afternoon with a successful verdict. It was approaching early evening as Gertie had left for the day as Della finished up her notes and filed them in the cabinet. Perry had been in his office with a file folder and skimmed over the next client's information for next week. Della had covered her typewriter and walked into his office. Perry wore a striped suit with a white shirt and a dark blue tie that was loosened around his neck. Della wore a black two-piece suit with a striped scarf tied around her neck. She wore matching black pumps along with a matching diamond bracelet and earrings.

"Chief, it's been a long day. How about we order take out tonight?" Della asked while he studied the notes without looking up at her and acknowledging her.

"Yes, that's fine Della. Whatever you want tonight is alright with me." Perry replied.

Della leaned up against the door jamb of his office and took notice of his demeanor. Since the Janet Brent incident a few weeks ago, their relationship had been rocky. Della knew Perry was still furious over her friend who caused a rift between Perry and Della. Della calmly walked back into her office and placed an order at their favorite Chinese Restaurant, CC Chang's, where she ordered the house special. The click of her heels when she exited his doorway caused him to look to where she once stood. His nose picked up his favorite perfume that she wore today, and he closed his eyes. He sighed before he slowly pushed his chair back, folded the manila folder close, and walked toward the law library where he retrieved their coats from the coat rack.

In the back of his mind, Perry had thought of the repercussions of Janet Brent's involvement with Della. Perry couldn't keep Della away from her friends, but being her husband, he wanted to make it clear that he didn't want her involved with any riff-raff. If a friend would cause that much trouble in facing jail time, then Perry had an issue with Mrs. Brent. The case was over and done with now and under the table so to speak. However, the hurt feelings and mistrust remained. Perry and Della's relationship blossomed when they met in law school and for them to throw it all away now was unacceptable. Perry loved Della more than he loved any other woman in his life, and he wasn't giving up on their marriage. As difficult as it may seem to be, they always overcame obstacles. Whether it be flirty clients or late-night investigations, they both understood the means of the job. Perry gathered their overcoats and met Della at the door. He helped her with her coat before he put his coat on and squeezed her shoulders.

"Thanks, Perry. Take-out is ordered and should be ready by the time we get there. I ordered the house special. I hope you didn't mind because I wasn't sure what you wanted so I went with something simple." Della looked back over her shoulder to see him peering down at her with a faint smile on his lips.

"It's okay Della. It's been a long day. I'm sorry for ignoring you. I've had a lot on my mind lately." Perry said as he took her elbow with his hand and led her out the office door before, he locked it. Della knew that Janet's case still bothered him. Because she could read his face and pick his brain, he didn't need to tell her. They both walked to the car garage, and as he opened the car door for her, she brushed against him as she always did. Perry quickly walked back to his side of the car door and started the engine. He proceeded to pull out of the parking space and onto the street to grab dinner and head home. Paul had been following a lead in the next county and wasn't due back in his office until early morning. The two of them would have a peaceful evening or so it would seem.

Della and Perry ate their takeout at the kitchen table while they stole glances at each other. The silence had been unbearable, and Della had to get to the bottom of it whether Perry wanted to talk about it or not. Della took his empty plate to the sink along with hers and began to wash them. Perry knew he needed to address the situation and now was the time. He followed her to the sink, stood behind her, placed his arms around her waist lovingly, pulled her to him, and kissed her neck. He buried his nose into her soft curls which caused her to shiver slightly at his welcoming touch.

"Perry, are we going to talk about what's on your mind? I've noticed a difference in your attitude towards me. Is there something I did or didn't do to please you?" Della turned in his strong embrace and put her hands on his forearms that held her in his grip and rubbed them seductively.

"Yes, we are going to talk about it." Perry placed a chaste kiss on her lips, and he pinched her rear before she smacked him on the chest playfully and shook her head at him. He retreated to the couch while she finished up in the kitchen. She found him lounging on the couch with his legs open and reading the brief for next week. Della picked up a fashion magazine from the coffee table and flipped through it before she noticed his outstretched hand. He pulled her down to sit against his strong frame. Della settled between his long legs, leaned back on his chest, and continued to read her magazine. Perry stroked her hair at the nape of her nape, dropped his folder, and massaged her shoulders which caused her to close her eyes and sigh a deep breath from her throat.

"Della, tell me what you were thinking when you got yourself in a bind with your friend, Janet Brent. I know she's a friend of yours, but didn't you know I might not have been able to save you or thought about the repercussions?" Perry worked her tendons into his hands. Della dropped her magazine in her lap and turned to face him before he let his hands fall from her shoulders.

"Perry, I didn't intend for any of that to happen. Janet has been my friend for a long time, and you know our history together. She needed my help, Perry. I couldn't stand back and watch her being completely helpless. I've seen how you always go for the damsel in distress in the office and take the case without hesitation but when it comes to a friend of mine, it's different?" Della narrowed her eyes at him with an accusatory tone in her voice which grew angrier as she spoke. Della sat up from him and tossed her magazine onto the coffee table when the phone rang in the next room.

"Della, I was concerned that I couldn't save you. You had a warrant out for your arrest. What did you think it did to me? I could have lost you. I couldn't even think what would have happened if you were sent away from me." Perry expressed his opinion as the phone rang again. Della quickly picked it up off the cradle.

"Hello, oh hello, Janet. How are you?" Della answered.

"Della, I'm sorry for calling your home phone, but the main switchboard operator said you had left hours ago. I wanted to ask if you would accompany me to a new cocktail bar that is opening on Saturday night. I will completely understand if you refuse. I'm sorry for all the trouble I've caused you and Perry." Janet's voice was wary of what she had done to their relationship.

"Janet, I should be free on Saturday night. Sounds like a plan I'll meet you downtown. How about seven in the evening? Okay, I'll be there." Della grinned into the receiver and placed it back down onto the cradle.

Perry only heard pieces of the conversation as he didn't eavesdrop on Della. He looked up from his brief folder and saw Della with her arms crossed over her chest and her head tilted at him.

"Who was it, Della? It surely couldn't have been our favorite investigator, Paul Drake." Perry smiled at her as he tossed the folder onto the coffee table where it joined her magazine.

"No, it wasn't Paul. It was Janet Brent. She asked me to go out Saturday evening to a new cocktail bar. She just wants to talk. That's all Perry. Nothing more. Nothing less. I'm sure it's harmless, and with this close call with the law, she will not do anything to endanger herself or me. Perry, I'm going whether you like it or not. I've made up my mind. You see your friends all the time, especially Paul Drake. What's so different about her? Just because she made a few mistakes in her life, you're going to sit there and judge her." Della huffed and left Perry on the couch and went to shower alone.

Turning on the water to the shower, Della relaxed under the hot spray and scrubbed her tired muscles as she thought Perry would join her, but he didn't. He was still on the couch reading through the notes. Della exited the shower, donned her towel around her body and dried her hair with another fresh towel before Perry entered the bathroom. His eyes were tired from the stress of the week and a five-o clock shadow started to show. Della gave him his space and went to their bedroom and she settled under the covers without a word to him. Perry knew she was right about her friend Janet. People make mistakes which is true. How many friends risked their friendships to the point of being jailed for a crime that they didn't commit and pitting a husband against his wife? Regardless, Perry had to start trusting Della again with her friends even if it was with Janet Brent. If she wanted to talk to her, she needed someone else to go along with her. Someone else from the office, Gertie perhaps or another friend.

Perry showered and relaxed under the hot spray before he exited the shower. Toweling off and putting his boxers on, he continued to dry his wet hair before he joined Della in the bedroom who was fast asleep or so he thought. He dropped the towel and lifted the covers to join her, but she remained silent and wouldn't even touch him when he spooned up against her. Perry knew the cold shoulder, and he was getting it at this very moment from the woman he loved. He couldn't take it much longer. He grabbed her hip with his large hand and kissed her neck while his hand stroked her arm before she finally turned in his arms to look at him from the corner of her eye.

"Just what do you think you're doing, Counselor?" Della arched her eyebrow at him seductively.

"You know exactly what I'm doing, Della. I have a say in you going out with your friend Janet. Don't I? I've thought about it, and you're right. People do make mistakes in their everyday lives but how many of them involve them risking friendships and a friend's marriage?" Perry explained his point of view to her and kissed her on the nape of the neck before he buried his nose in the back of her curls as she pushed her bottom back against him. She felt his erection come to life.

"Perry, she's had a hard life. I just feel that she needs a friend right now. I know your feelings are estranged from her right now. If you don't want to go with me to this cocktail bar, I'll understand and will take another friend along with me. I'm sure you feel that would be better." Della whispered to him and traced the outline of his lips with her index finger before he placed a kiss on them.

"Promise me, Della. No more risking our marriage for her. A friend doesn't get you into trouble, and if you want to meet with her, it's fine with me. You've heard my thoughts about her as I don't trust her, and you shouldn't either. Della, you make your choice, and I'll understand completely. If you agree to go out, then please take another girlfriend with you." Perry pleaded with Della. She grabbed his hand and settled back down on the mattress using his other arm as a pillow while he spooned up behind her. No more words had been exchanged between them as the night took hold and they fell asleep.

Part 2

PMDSXX

The weekend arrived, and Della had woken and found herself laying on Perry's broad chest. During the middle of the night, she tossed and turned because the words that he said were still on her mind. He slept soundly when Della rose on her elbow, she looked at his hardened features, and slowly retreated off the bed. Della put on her silk robe, looked over her shoulder at her sleeping husband, and watched him turn over to the side of her bed. Perry felt the mattress dip. He knew Della had her mind set on meeting her friend. Della started the coffee, and the aroma filled the house.

He breathed in her scent from the sheets and finally joined her in the kitchen. Still in his boxers, Perry stood in the foyer and watched her. Della made breakfast which consisted of pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Perry reached for their mugs from the cupboard and set them down on the countertop with a loud thud to get her attention. Della ignored him while she prepared their meal. Della served breakfast and put his plate in front of him with a clunk just as he did with the cups. Perry waited for the percolator to finish with the coffee, poured it into the cups, and set them on the table. Della knew he was mad at her, and he had every right to be. She thought their relationship was slowly mending; however, that is until the phone call from Janet, who wanted to talk. After they ate breakfast, Della who finished before Perry, placed her empty dishes into the sink and walked back into the bedroom, where she opened the closet door to look for a dress to wear that evening. Perry cleared the table and washed the dishes before he ventured into the bedroom. Della had the closet door still open as she hadn't decided what to wear yet. Perry walked in and picked out a pair of denim jeans and a white button-down shirt with his brown deck shoes.

Perry dressed in front of the mirror and glanced at Della, who was still undecided about what to wear to the cocktail party. As she stood in front of her closet, Della took out a couple of glamourous outfits off their hangers and held them up for closer inspection. She chose the black knee-length sleeveless sheath dress. The one-inch straps created a square neckline which revealed her cleavage. The straight sheath hugged her curves in all the right places. She paired it with her diamond necklace and drop earrings and black peep-toe pumps.

"Della, do you think that's an appropriate dress to wear this evening?" Perry asked her as he peered over her shoulder.

"What's wrong with my choice, Perry?" Della placed her hands on her hips and looked up at him. He seethed with jealously at her choice of dress.

"You can't go to the cocktail party wearing that!" Perry argued with her before he picked up the garment and placed it back in the closet.

"I can wear it when you take me out, but when I want to wear it without you beside me, you have a problem? Perry, I'm wearing this, and you're not stopping me. Just because we are married now, it doesn't mean you can control what I think or wear for that matter." Della reached back into the closet and took out her dress again. Perry held up his hands in protest as his wife chose the revealing dress and stepped back from her to give her space. He watched her flit around the room.

"Della, stop! I'm your husband. Doesn't my opinion mean anything to you? I'm saying that because I care about your well-being. I don't want another man to make advances on you when I'm not there." Perry voiced his concern before the argument escalated between them.

"Perry, I'll have a girlfriend with me. It's not like I'm taking my wedding ring off. When anyone spots it on my finger, he'll leave well enough alone since I am a married woman." Della countered him and continued on her rant.

"Della, if a man approaches a married woman and keeps pushing their advances onto you, I'm going to have an issue with that. A wedding ring or not." Perry firmly told her while he followed her into the bathroom. Della could feel the tension coming off him when he stood close behind her. He started to get frustrated with her. She looked into the mirror to see his darkened and unkempt features that turned her on when he was in the state of being pissed off. Perry could have easily made his intentions known by placing one of his large hands on her and forcing her to listen to his reasons, but there was nothing he could say or do to convince her to change her mind. Della faced him, brushed him off, and walked into the bedroom without saying a word.

"I'll be fine Perry. There is no need to worry about me. I told you that many times before so please just trust me on that. Would you please just drop it!"

Perry's temper rose another level. He stormed out of the house and slammed the front door without looking back at her. Della looked towards the front door from which he had exited not even uttering goodbye to her. As she contemplated her friend Janet Brent's relationship and the repercussions of what she's caused, Della knew Janet had a lot of explaining to do and issue an apology to Perry whether it was through Della or to his face. Della called Gertie to see if she would be free since Paul was still out on an investigation. Gertie and Paul had been married for three years, and Gertie would most likely be free this weekend. When Paul wasn't investigating, he would take Gertie away for the weekend to relax in the mountains of California. Paul wasn't due back until late Saturday evening so they decided not to leave town this weekend.

"Gertie, I was wondering if you'd like to go to the new cocktail bar that just opened up. I'm meeting a girlfriend and wanted to ask if you'd like to join me later this evening. I'll pick you up around six this evening? That is if you are free to go out."

"Hello, Della. Sure, I'll be glad to join you. Paul isn't due back until later tonight. I'm sure he'll be fine with it. No trouble at all." Gertie replied happily into the receiver.

Della said her goodbyes and placed the phone back on the cradle. The afternoon went by without a word from Perry which concerned Della. He never went this long without phoning her. It had been almost five hours and still no contact. When the phone rang, she quickly picked it up to hear her friend's voice on the other end.

"Della, I'm glad you're still home. Are we still on for tonight?" Janet questioned her friend.

"Yes, we're still on for tonight. Perry isn't thrilled of course about any of this." Della replied and fingered the phone cord in her fingers.

"It's okay Della. I understand if you want to cancel," Janet told her but was soon surprised by Della's voice coming back into the receiver.

"I'll be there Janet. I've already chosen my dress." Della said her goodbyes on the phone before she placed the phone back onto the cradle.

Meanwhile, over at Paul's house, Gertie had chosen an elegant purple cocktail dress with black pumps. As she slipped on her shoes to meet Della, who was on her way to pick her up, Paul opened the front door and surprised Gertie with a wide smile. She welcomed her husband back from his investigation as he wrapped her up into his strong embrace and planted a kiss on her lips before he released her with a sigh.

"It's good to be back home. Where are you going? I hope not on a date without me." Paul teased her and looked her up and down in approval of her dress.

"Paul, I didn't expect you'd be back until after midnight. Della and I were going out to a new cocktail bar lounge that just opened up. I forgot the name, but it is a brand new club and has a fine bar and restaurant too. I'll be out for a few hours. I think Perry opted out tonight, but I don't know why since Della hadn't told me everything yet." Gertie slid her hands slid down the front of Paul's chest and fingered the tie that was loosened around his neck.

"It's probably just a married couple spat. Perry will get over it. I'll give him a call later as soon as I shower and relax. I'm too tired to do anything tonight. Maybe a drink later would help." Paul waggled his eyebrows at her, and she giggled at him.

"Paul, if you still want that drink, you know where I'll be if I'm not home. Don't worry. I'll be with Della, and nothing is going to happen I promise you." Gertie picked up her purse and left her husband.

"I'm sure you'll be fine Gertie," Paul whispered under his breath and headed towards the bathroom to take a long, hot shower and relax.

Della noticed Paul's car in the driveway and bit her lip while she waited on Gertie. Paul was Perry's best friend, and she knew if he found out about their spat, he would try to console Perry about their feud. Gertie appeared from the house and waved to Della as she patiently waited on Gertie to open the door and close it. She turned to look at Della, who looked stunning in her dress, and the jewelry she wore. Gertie thought was a knockout compared to her.

"Gertie, Paul's back early. I didn't think he would be back until after midnight?" Della said when she placed the car into drive and pulled the car onto the street.

"Paul just arrived a few minutes ago. He wrapped up his investigation earlier than he thought. I accidentally told him about the new cocktail lounge. I'm sorry Della, I didn't tell him the name, but only it was a brand-new establishment." Gertie apologized to her not. She didn't realize she spilled the beans.

"That's just great. Perry will find us because Paul is like a bloodhound. Perry will make sure he finds me and report everything to him. He doesn't trust me now." Della informed her friend who was seated across from her on the bench seat.

"Paul always knows how to calm Perry down. I wouldn't worry too much about him. Perry is a strong man Della and I know he can control his anger. Paul will talk with him, and there will be nothing to worry about." When she looked at her friend's attire, she knew deep down trouble was going to follow her.

Janet arrived at the cocktail lounge and seated herself at a table. The crowd was booming at the new establishment and waiters and waitresses served guests. The drinks menu included the following: Martini (made with gin or vodka), Manhattan, Old Fashioned, Tom Collins, Whisky Sour, Stinger, Mojito, Mint Julep, and Sidecar. Specialty cocktails were also popular: Daiquiri, Margarita, Bloody Mary, and Pina Colada.

The food that was offered on the menu included: Prawns in aspic, Deviled eggs, and deviled ham, sandwiches with salami, processed sliced cheese, and peanut butter, Pineapple hollowed out and filled with mayonnaise and mustard, broiled grapefruit, bacon wraparounds, sardine, and bacon rolls, silver dollar hamburgers, lobster Newburg and guacamole spreads, and for dessert, such delights as jelly and marshmallow bars. The establishment was ritzy and glamorous with bar stools at the main bar while tables were scattered about the main floor with ample space. The music that played in the background was soft Jazz.

Della found a parking spot, pulled the car into the space, parked it, and shut the engine off. The two friends exited the car and walked toward the building. The women were in awe at the outward appearance and smiled at each other as they entered the building together. Janet watched for Della to enter and spotted her with another guest, whom she recognized from the office. Janet waved from the table to distract Della's attention while she searched through the mass of people and finally saw her arm outstretched and walked over to the private table where she was seated.

"Janet, it's good to see you again. I hope you don't mind I brought a guest with me since Perry refused to come." Della looked over at Gertie, who gave them a faint smile and took her seat before Della joined them.

"It's okay Della. I understood why Perry refused to come along. I know he's not forgiven me yet. I'm sorry Della for all of it. I can't thank him enough for helping on the case but he defended not only you but me as well. I'm truly thankful you helped when I was in trouble. I had no friends at the time, and I had no one else to turn to, Della." Janet tried her best to clear the air between them.

"You know you could have talked to Perry about this before any of this happened. He would have helped you since you were a friend of mine, and if he didn't, I would most defiantly have convinced him to take your case." Della told her before a waitress came to their table, offered them a menu, and placed it on the table. The three of them looked at the menu offerings and decided on their drinks and meals. Della settled for a Pina Colada while Gertie ordered a Martini with gin. Janet placed an order of strawberry Daiquiri.

"Ladies, are you ready to order?" the young lady asked as she took out her notepad and pen to scratch down their order. "I'll be right back with your drinks." The young lady smiled and left their table.

"This is a nice joint Janet. I'm amazed by their artwork, and the setup here is very classy. I like it." Della smiled at her friend from across the table.

"I didn't know if you'd join me in a friendly drink tonight, but I needed to see you again Della. I am very grateful for you still being my friend. Words can't take back what's happened. I made a mistake and mixed you up with my issues, and I'm sorry." Janet expressed her deepest apology.

"Janet, it's going to be fine. Don't worry about me not being friends with you. We've had our ups and downs. We've made mistakes too. Everyone does in their life. We can't judge one simple mistake. It's over Janet, and if Perry has a hard time with me still being your friend, then that's on him." Della comforted her.

In the meantime, the lounge was packed full of new arriving guests. A few young men sat down on the bar stools at the counter and ordered drinks. Another middle-aged, robust man entered, observed the room, and took a seat down at the end of the bar. He was tall, light-haired, skinny, and looked like he came from the recruitment office downtown to get himself a drink and a lady friend. He eyed up the ladies after he ordered his Whiskey Sour and ate an appetizer that was on the table. Gertie, Della, and Janet chatted while they consumed their drinks. They were not bothered by anyone before the middle-aged man noticed Della's table, in the far corner in the private section. He noticed her laughter first, then her smile, and her beautiful body which was hugged by the dress she was wearing. He noticed she wore a wedding ring. Although she was taken, what would it hurt if he asked her to dance?

Perry arrived home to an empty house as the telephone rang. Perry hurriedly shut the door, reached for the telephone, picked it up, and answered it.

"Hello, Paul. When did you get back in town?"

"A few hours ago. Gertie told me that Della asked her to go out tonight to a new cocktail bar." Paul told his friend.

"Yes, I know about it. Paul, do you remember Janet Brent? She's meeting her there just to talk. I don't trust the woman as far as I could throw her. She's nothing but trouble, and help me God, if she gets Della in a mess again." Perry trailed off into the receiver.

"Perry, relax pal. It's a girl's night out. Gertie will make sure nothing happens. Do you want to grab a drink tonight? I'm feeling a little parched myself. I'll pick you up in a half-hour. We can find a nice bar and talk." Paul insisted and hung up the phone after Perry agreed from the other end of the line. Perry, dressed in a black suit with a white dress shirt and black tie, was in living room when he heard a knock at the door and opened it to reveal Paul.

"Perry, you look like you need a drink, and a stiff one at that," Paul remarked as Perry motioned for him to come inside.

"Della, she's the cause of the condition I'm in. I know it's because of her choice of friends Paul. I can't pick and choose them for her." Paul handed him a cigarette to calm his nerves. Paul struck a match and lit his cigarette, and exhaled the air through his lungs. Perry lit his cigarette and exhaled the smoke through his mouth and nose.

"Perry, just calm down, and let's grab a drink. It's stupid that you are angry over this situation. Della is unharmed, safe, and not put behind bars. You saved her and her friend Mrs. Brent. Isn't that something that you can be proud of? You defended both ladies in the courtroom with a major win. You just need to mellow out, my friend. Let's go that drink." Paul exited the room and went out the door. Perry turned out the lights, locked the door, and placed his keys into his pocket. Paul started his car as he waited on Perry to open the car door and get in before he pulled his car onto the street.

Paul circled the buildings of their favorite joints, but no parking was available. The clubs were busier this weekend than usual. Disgusted, Paul remembered the new cocktail bar that Gertie told him about that was downtown. It would be a chance meeting of Della, Gertie, and Janet Brent. There were many lounges along the coast. The problems were getting inside and finding parking. Paul drove downtown toward the west side and noticed the new club neon sign and lights.

"Paul, is this the new cocktail lounge that opened up this weekend?" Perry squinted his eyes at the bright lights.

"Yes, well it's one of them. I know for a fact two establishments opened up this weekend, and this is probably one of them. If the ladies are in there Perry, be calm, and we'll get our drinks and leave. Got that? Because I don't want to have a bar brawl in there, okay?" Paul warned his pal.

"Yes, Paul. If another man is forcing his intentions on my wife, God help the man who is touching her." Perry's tone of voice deepened in his throat. Paul parked the car and got out. Perry noticed a familiar car in another parking spot, and it was Della's car.

The ladies drank another round of drinks, and everyone enjoyed spending time with each other. They laughed and giggled at all the stupid little things they've done throughout their lives when the middle-aged man approached Della's table.

"I noticed a wonderful group of ladies seated off in a private section." The suave, middle-aged man's mannerism caught Della off guard, and she glanced up at the handsome man.

"Sorry, Mister, but this table is off-limits. We are happily married to wonderful husbands. If you think any of us are interested in you, you need to look elsewhere." Della replied and sipped her drink with a chuckle.

"Yes, mister. We are taken and are not interested." Gertie sipped her cocktail and looked up at the man who stood by their table.

"Just a little dance is all I'm asking. I noticed your ring and assume you were engaged or married. What's a harmless dance. Come on, I promise I'll be on my best behavior. Oh, I forgot to tell you my name, Lt. Allen Hawks." He extended his hand to Della, who was reluctant to take it, but she decided what harm could it do and reached for it.

Allen pulled Della to the dance floor as slow jazz songs played. Paul and Perry entered the cocktail bar, scanned the room of people, and took their seats at the front barstools. Paul craned his neck when he thought he saw his wife seated at a table in the private corner. She was there with Mrs. Brent, who sipped on her drink and chatted with Gertie. Paul got worried when he hadn't spotted Della seated with them. He thought she went to powder her nose, but spotted her in the arms of another man. Paul ordered his Whiskey sour and nudged Perry with his elbow to get his attention. Perry drank his Bloody Mary and ordered another when he turned on his barstool to notice what Paul had jabbed him for. He observed his wife in another man's arms as they slowly danced to a slow jazz ballad. Perry was infuriated at the sight before him, and he took it upon himself to intervene. He slowly made his way over to the dance floor, stood behind Della, and towered over her before she bumped into his strong frame.

"Della, may I have this dance?" Perry's voice rumbled low from behind her. Della shivered at the tone of his voice, and her stomach flipped into knots. Della turned and faced her husband after she stopped in the middle of her dance to acknowledge Perry.

"Excuse me. I was dancing with the lady. I don't take kindly to you interrupting us." The Lt. firmly told him and sized up Perry, who was unnerved by the man who had his hand on his wife.

"It's okay. He's, my husband. Thanks for the dance, and I have to go now." Della excused herself from the two men as they watched her walk back to the table she shared with Gertie and Janet.

"It looks like she's unhappy with you, or she wouldn't have danced with a real man." The Lt. badgered Perry, who was unphased by his words. Perry stormed after his wife. She was abruptly halted by his strong grip on her hand before he pulled her back onto the dance floor with him.

"Della, I asked for a dance, and I'm going to get one. What were you doing with that stranger back there? Better yet, what were you thinking?" He pulled her forcefully towards his chest and held her close as they swayed with the music. The Lt. stood back and watched their interaction to make sure that Della was not in any danger.

"I thought I was having a girl's night out, Perry. I didn't do anything to threaten our marriage. He wanted a friendly dance. He is a recruiting officer for the Navy in downtown Los Angeles. He knew I was married, and I told him one dance, which he accepted. You can ask Gertie and Janet if you don't believe me." Della squirmed in his strong arms as he held her tight, and finally, his hands gripped her hips and pulled her flush against him. She felt his erection poke her hip and she knew what effect she had on him.

"Is that what you were doing Della? To me, it looked like you were enjoying yourself even if it was one dance with the so-called recruiter." Perry dipped his head to the crook of her neck and sniffed the perfume she placed behind her ear. He nipped at her neck and smoothed his tongue over the bite mark he just made on her sensitive flesh. Her knees buckled under his touches and caresses. Della pushed on his chest slightly and slapped him on the face to get his attention.

"I can't believe you, Perry! You are unbelievable. I can't even have a girl's night out without you thinking I would cheat on you. When are you going to trust me? Obviously, I trust you with your very wealthy clients and young ladies, but I can't have a night out with a friend. You are jumping to conclusions." Della untangled herself from his arms, stormed off to her table and informed her friends that she was leaving.

"Janet, where is Gertie?" Della asked her.

"Out there on the dance floor with Paul." Janet pointed in their direction.

"Great, well that's just great. I'm sorry to leave so hastily Janet, but Perry's here. I don't want to cause any problems so I'm going home." Della picked up her stole from the chair and said goodbye after she promised to call her later.

"Okay, Della. I understand. I'll tell Gertie you went home."

Della hurriedly took caution to avoid Perry's fury. She met him outside the door standing on the sidewalk as he waited and followed her towards her car.

"Della, wait a minute! I'm sorry for being so stubborn and hard-headed back there." Perry trailed her from behind and caught up with her before she reached the car door where he pinned her up against the door of the car.

She turned around to face him again. He placed both hands on the car door so she couldn't escape him. The Lt. followed Perry outside, stood back in the shadows, and watched the scene play out between the married couple. He interfered when he thought Della was in trouble. When he pulled Perry's broad shoulders back to get his attention from her, Della looked at the man in shock.

"Leave her alone! I don't think your wife appreciated being treated like that." The Lt. butted in which was a mistake.

"Della, I think you have a secret crush, and I'm going to deal with him." Perry growled at her before he lowered his eyes to her cleavage and traced the strap of her dress with his index finger, which sent shivers down her spine. He was not done with her yet.

Della lowered her eyes seductively at him as her tongue snaked out at the corner of her mouth and teased her bottom lip. He dipped his head and claimed her mouth with his in a hungry kiss. He tasted the drink she consumed earlier and slowly deepened the kiss against before she wrapped her arms around his neck and felt his rough stubble scratch her cheek while he continued to kiss her and tugged on her earlobe. Perry stopped his assault with his lips and tongue before he looked down at her wanton features. Perry released her from his grasp, turned around, and faced the Lt., who so rudely interfered in their quarrel.

"You have a problem Lt.? How is it I think you have something else in mind, especially with my wife?"

"I see a jealous husband who mistreated his wife and forced his intentions on her. I can tell you don't make her happy. I don't know why she would have anything to do with you." The Lt. insulted Perry.

"Listen, you don't know the situation so you better leave now." Perry gave him a fair warning as the Lt. advanced toward Della. Perry grabbed the man by the arm and pulled him away from Della. He swung at the man and knocked him out.

"Come on Della let's go home. We've got to talk and get this out in the open between us. I can't keep going on like this." Perry caressed her cheek in his palm, and she leaned into his tender touch. The Lt. groaned in pain and shook his head when he saw Perry help Della into the car, shut her door and walked back to his side of the car, opened the door, and got in the car. The dazed Lt. finally came too while Paul, Gertie, and Janet stood outside the building.

"Because of me, Della is going to be in trouble again." Janet murmured under her breath.

"Nah… Perry and Della will be fine. They just need to work on communicating better, and tonight I know they will be on the same page. Gertie, shall we leave?" Paul took her arm in his and escorted her to his car.

Part 3

PMDSXX

Perry drove the car at a higher rate of speed than he normally would so he could continue the conversation with Della. The way she looked while she was seated across from him was almost his undoing. At one point halfway home, he wanted to just take her in the car on the side of the road, but he remained steadfast. She wore was the most enticing perfume, Chanel No. 5, and she didn't wear it often. She wore it on special occasions such as a night out on the town. He looked at the traffic lights and over in her direction. She remained silent only to shift her legs to hide her desire to be touched by him. He reached for her hand to grasp it, and she didn't refuse him. While at the traffic light, Perry lowered his eyes at her, looked at the gaping fabric that showed off her long, lean legs, and licked his lip since he wanted to taste all of her.

Finally, he pulled the car into the driveaway, shut the engine off, and looked over at Della. She opened her car door without his assistance and slammed the door without a word to him. Perry knew he had to remedy the situation, or he feared he'd lose his wife for good. Perry was close on her heels when she reached into her purse for her spare key.

"Della, will you please wait a minute!" Perry tried to talk to her, but she was already in the house and was about to shut the door in his face when his strong hand stopped her. He halted her actions towards him, and she looked at him with misty eyes filled with unshed tears. The last thing he wanted to do was make her cry and saw the hurt in her eyes that he caused.

"Perry, why are so jealous of me? I can't even go out with a friend of mine, and you show up unannounced. You don't trust me? How is it that I trust you with attractive, female clients and damsels in distress? I just don't understand you. They flaunt themselves at you, but it's okay to have your wife witness it. A friendly dance with a gentleman at a lounge, and you get all riled up just because he was having one dance that "I" allowed. It's harmless Perry. If you don't believe me, ask Gertie since she was there with me when he asked for the dance." Della argued as she toed off her pumps and dropped her stole over the couch.

"Della, of course, I'm jealous of you and who wouldn't be? I'm your husband and the way you look right now is unacceptable. I didn't particularly like how he had his hands on you. I'm surprised he hadn't kissed you before I arrived. Furthermore, Paul and I went to other clubs and they were packed. We drove all over town until we found one that had parking. I was not stalking you. It wasn't like you noticed I was there anyway until I made my presence known." Perry countered her and followed her while she grabbed her robe out of the closet.

"You don't think I'm not jealous either? Perry, I am. I might not show it in front of the clients, but I am. You're my husband, and I am your wife. We have to agree on the trust between us because I have never lied to you about anything. You know my history and my past loves. I know about yours, but you have to trust me. I knew Janet had a lot of explaining to do, and she apologized to me. Perry, she wants to apologize to you as well. She told me that herself tonight and knew you were still angry about the whole incident." Della turned away from him and wiped an errant tear that had escaped her eye.

"Della, I trust you, but on the other hand, Janet Brent, I don't trust her being a friend of yours. That's my problem and look what she has done. She has driven a wedge between a husband and wife." Perry quietly said and inched closer towards her as he closed the gap between them.

Perry approached her from behind to touch her bare shoulders. She flinched under his gentle touch. He placed a kiss on her bare shoulder and reached for one strap with his index finger to pull it off. He stood calmly behind her, towered over her without her high heels and his now discarded loafers. Finally she faced him with tears in her eyes and blotched, redden cheeks. Perry took his thumb and wiped the tears away from her cheeks when she closed her eyes again.

"Perry, you don't trust me even though you say you do, and use Janet Brent as an excuse. I can't be around you tonight. It's too much for me right now. She has been my friend since I was in law school, and you knew that." Della looked up at him as she pulled her luggage from the closet.

"Della, it's true I knew of Janet when we were in law school. I didn't know she would get you into that mess. I went to extreme measures to protect you and her. If I had to do it again, I would. I love you too much to see you get hurt. Can't you see that, Della? You're my whole world, and the reason I wake up every morning." Perry said before he took the luggage from her hand and tossed it back into the closet so she couldn't leave him.

He pulled her towards him again in a fierce hug. Della, who was hurt, couldn't fathom arguing anymore with him after he clearly stated to her that he would defend her again if he needed to and that meant a lot to her. The trusting part remained in the back of her mind while he still held her in his arms. She took a step back from him, held onto his hands, and looked up at him with misty eyes before she placed her palm on his rough cheek, and pulled him down for a chaste kiss on his lips.

"Hear me out, Counselor. If I want to go out with my friend, Janet, I will do just that, but only if I have another trusted girlfriend with me. It's only fair Perry since you have your friends, and I shall have mine." Della spoke softly to him and placed her hands on his broad chest to stop him from advancing on her.

"It's going to be a long time before Janet gains my trust again. I can't keep you from talking to her. I know that, but can you wear something more formal instead of this outfit? Right now, you are driving me insane, and if I don't touch you, I'm afraid I'm going to lose my mind." Perry inched closer to touch her forearms before she coyly stepped back from his grasp.

"Not so fast Chief. You've lasted this long. Surely, you can suffer a little more because you went all cavemen down at the lounge. You punched a nice guy, who wanted to dance with your wife, and there was nothing you could do about it." Della teased him and playfully retreated from him. Perry stood back and watched her as she lowered her dress strap on her shoulder, but he stopped her.

"To me, it looked like you were having a good time with that stranger who was not your husband out on the dance floor." He temptingly told her and closed the space between them before he leaned down and captured her lips in a hungry kiss. She reached for his suit jacket and tugged at his tie, but he brushed her hands away from him. His shirt buttons had been unclasped from the eyelets because she wanted skin-on-skin contact. He countered her, grabbed her hand, pleasured her with his tongue, and removed her dress. He cupped her heaving bosom into his hands after her dress pooled at her ankles. Hazel emeralds met the dark blue iris of her seducer, and she placed her arms around his shoulders and tried to get the upper hand on him.

"You're not playing fair Counselor," Della whined after he blocked her hands again.

"Who said anything about playing fair, Della?" He whispered into her ear, captured her lobe between his teeth, tugged on it, and licked the outer shell. Della sighed and bit her lower lip as he knelt before her and helped her out of her dress and silk stockings. He caressed her long, lean legs one at a time before he looked up at her. As she stood half-naked before him, he could smell her aroma and kissed up her thighs while he stroked her hip bones with his thumbs. Perry was still dressed despite her early attempts at unbuttoning his white dress shirt which gave a slight glimpse of his sparse chest hair. Della was not thrilled to be standing clad only in a bra and her silk panties.

Perry gave her a crafty smile with his dimples showing on his cheeks that she knew were hidden behind his five o'clock shadow and his dark blues twinkling in the lamplight from the bedroom. He slowly stood from his knelt position, removed his jacket, unbuttoned his white dress shirt, and discarded them onto the floor. When he reached for the belt buckle on his slacks, Della watched with anticipation, but he took his time and made her wait for him. She started to get wetter by the moment. Her panties were soaked and the heady smell of it excited him even more. He knew she was more than ready for him to be inside her, but the slow torture on Della's facial features proved he belonged to her and only her. No other man compared to him. They've grown over the years together, and he had married her. He knew no other man could have her or made her behave like she was right now.

Perry pulled her into a heated, passionate kiss. Della returned his frenzied kiss, raked her fingernails down his broad chest, and placed her hand on his belt buckle to release him. He shivered as she took his zipper and freed him while she stroked him through his boxers and felt his hardened member, which strained against the fabric. Della's wrists were seized by his much larger hand, and the seduction continued. She stepped back from him when he discarded his slacks in a pile with the rest of the clothing. He only wore his boxers and matched his wife, who was still clad only in her bra and panties.

Perry reached for her hands and pulled her to him so fiercely that she could feel his raging hard-on through the thin fabric. He carefully reached behind her and unfastened her bra. His index fingers discarded it from her shoulders and onto the floor with the rest of the growing pile of clothing. She looked up at him with a sultry gleam in her eyes as he palmed her heaving chest in his hands before he took the erect nipple in his mouth and lavished it. He returned the favor to the other one before he peppered kisses down her abdomen and inhaled her scent. He removed her soaked undergarment, dipped his finger into her wetness, and licked his fingers clean of her arousal.

"Della, your so beautiful I can't stop saying that to you. If that man had kissed you…" he whispered against her soft belly before he planted a kiss next to her navel and his tongue traveled southward to where she ached for him. Breathing in her scent once again, he looked up from his position, placed his hands on her hips, and buried his nose in her curls. He licked at her entrance, dipped his tongue into her welcoming heat, and lapped at her wetness. He grabbed hip and claimed her with his mouth. Della released a moan from deep in her throat, grasped his head, and raked her fingernails through his dark hair. He suckled onto her sensitive bundle of nerves and circled her clit with his tongue. She came after a few flicks as his stubble scratched between her thighs. The sensation of his tongue along with friction from his cheeks against her thighs was her undoing.

"If that man had kissed me, Perry, what would have you done?" Della's voice barely escaped her throat while he pleasured her without looking up at her. He grumbled against her mons, placed a kiss on her entrance, and slowly rose to meet her flushed face. He fingered the dangling necklace that draped around her neck and touched her shoulder and her cheek with the other hand and her smoky emeralds gazed back at him.

"You know exactly what would've happened, Della and Paul wouldn't have stopped me. You know that." Perry brushed his tongue against her bottom lip as she tasted herself. Della pushed him back teasingly after she nipped at his lips and palmed his erection into her hand.

"I know Counselor," Della whispered temptingly into his ear which caused him to back her up against the door frame in their bedroom. Her back was flush against the grain and pinned by his large figure and skimmed his large hand down her body, rested on her hip, and traced circles there before he dipped one finger into her swollen folds and captured her mouth with his. They both groaned in unison. The sensation of his fingers as they stroked in out of her caused her to clamp down hard on his digits, pulsed around them and come hard against his hand again as she climaxed. She silenced her cries when she bit his shoulder, wrapped her arms around his shoulders, and scratched his back. Perry looked at her flushed face and gave her a slow, deep, sensual kiss on her lips which left her breathless, and she panted into his neck before she bit his earlobe.

Perry finally relented and gave her room to move before she placed her knee between his hardened member, and her hand on him before she stroked his length. He bit her shoulder, latched onto her neck, and sucked hard before he lavished the reddened mark as she gripped him with her delicate hand. She snaked her hand through his boxers, she had him on the verge of climaxing in her hand. She slowly withdrew her hand, grabbed the waistband, and pulled them down before his erection sprung free from its confines. He reached for her. She kissed his chest, tugged at his sparse chest hair, and trailed her tongue down his large frame. When she went to take him in her mouth, he gently grasped her hands, picked her up in his arms, and carried her to the king-size bed, where he gently placed her down on it, and laid beside her.

Della lay on the bed as he worshiped her body from head to toe before he settled between her thighs. She wrapped her legs around his waist to pull him towards her heated center. He paused for a moment and admired the beauty that was his wife. Della opened her eyes to see him lovingly stare back at her before he spoke as she tugged on her bottom lip with her teeth.

"Della, I'm still wondering what made you dance with Lt. Hawks?" His tone of voice was a lower octave as he grumbled and slipped down into her wetness. She hooked her leg around his waist and caressed his back and his forearms as she loved the feel of him inside her. He started to move within her walls.

"Oh, Perry! You can't be…." Della's voice gasped as he pulled out of her, and she bit the side of his neck and tugged on his hair when he plunged back inside her. Perry never took his eyes off her since he still wanted to know what she was doing with that Lt. He paused again and didn't slip back into her heat as he started to kiss down her shoulders, suckled her breasts one at a time, and let his nose drift down her mid-riff while she gripped his hair in her hands as he dipped his tongue into her navel. He swirled his tongue on her belly, but he wouldn't give her what she wanted. Frustrated at his seductive, teasing of his tongue, she yanked him by the head of his hair and pulled him up to her face and his mouth met her hungry mouth. Tongues clashed for dominance as they kissed. Perry rolled her over, and now she straddled his broad chest.

Della was now in control of the situation. She interlocked their hands, leaned down to kiss him on his swollen lips, and whispered into his ear. "Chief, the reason why I danced with the Lt. was that he was a charming and nice fellow," Della answered. Della jutted her tongue out the side of her mouth and teased him with her wanton look. Perry freed his hand from hers and stroked her cheek with his thumb before he brushed an errant strand off her brow.

"He was a nice fellow and charming fellow. Della, you have to be kidding right?" Perry chuckled at her as she hovered above him, but she wasn't amused by his response. Della put an end to his torment when she silenced him with a heated kiss before she nipped at his bottom lip and let her tongue roam over his massive torso until she reached the place she wanted to be. Perry grabbed at her curls, smoothed them over in his grasp, and squirmed under her tongue ministrations as she licked up his length and fondled his scrotum. She licked and sucked on his penis before she engulfed him and took her time pleasuring him. He lifted off the mattress as she swirled her tongue around the tip of cock and stroked his thighs.

"Della, God.. woman. What you do to me….I'm not going to last much longer…." Perry groaned while he still had her hair in his clutches. His manhood escaped her mouth, and she placed a kiss on the tip of it since she knew he was about to lose his composure. She teasingly made her way back up his torso, descended slowly on his engorged penis, and set a slow, rocking motion that spurred him into action. He gripped her hips in his hands. His thumbs dug into her flesh as she rode him. He stroked in and out of her as she interlaced her hands with his, dipped her head down, captured his lips, and retreated away from his mouth. She arched her back after one of his hands escaped her grip, and he fondled her breast, which caused her to speed up her tempo. He met her thrust for thrust and bumped her clit when she rose and fell against him. When she tilted her hips at an angle, she came hard, clamped her vaginal walls around him, and spasmed hard against him. Perry pulled her to him, held her in his arms, and thrusted up into her three times before he followed her with his orgasm. Their breathing was erratic, Della collapsed on him while he stroked her hair and placed a kiss on her temple as she came down from her high.

"I love you, Perry. You know that I belong to you and only you. Just remember when a sexy, gorgeous, glamorous, damsel in distress comes to the office that you come home to me every night, and you don't want your wife's wrath, do you?" Della whispered into his ear and leaned up on one elbow to look down at him.

"I love you, Della. From the moment I saw you in law school, I knew you and I were meant to be. It was a matter of time before I couldn't spend another day without you. When you accepted my proposal, I felt like I was on top of the world." Perry told her as he stroked her arms lovingly and rubbed her back. She hummed into his chest, placed a kiss on his lips, and smiled at him. As she slowly disengaged from his arms, she made her way towards the bathroom for a quick shower.

Perry closed his eyes and listened to the water run while Della adjusted the temperature before he made his move to join her. The water pelted down on Della's tired muscles, and she suddenly felt two strong hands on her shoulders. He massaged them and worked out the kinks as she sighed and leaned into his chest. He took the sponge, lathered it up with soap, and washed her back and down her legs as she turned and faced him. He crouched before her and washed her body. He paid special attention to her cleavage and licked his lips.

Della stood back into the spray and rinsed off. Using her favorite shampoo, Perry scrubbed the shampoo into her scalp and worked it into her wet curls. The water cascaded over her frame and washed the shampoo out of her hair before she turned around to face Perry. She washed his chest and didn't let any crevice go unattended, especially his manhood which was already half-mast to full attention towards its object of affection. He closed his eyes when her delicate hand gripped him and thumbed the head of his penis. Perry groaned and backed her up against the shower wall as she still had him in her hand. He pinned her with his large frame and captured her lips in a kiss that took her breath away under the spray of water. When he gasped for air, he pulled away from her lips and picked her up and she guided him home into her core.

The shower pounded on the couple as they made love. Perry held her steady against the tile wall and lifted her leg over his thigh to go deeper into her wetness. The water lubricated their bodies as they slid against each other with ease. Della clutched at the hair at his nape when he nipped at her clavicle and lavished it with his tongue before he scratched her cheek with his stubble. Della sighed again, pulled his head back, and splayed her hands on his chest. She stopped his kisses abruptly on her neck and got his attention.

"Della, what's the matter?" Perry whispered to her, touched her cheek tenderly, traced her breast line, and lowered his hand to hold her waist while his other hand balanced her against the wall as he was still deeply sheathed by her vaginal walls.

"Have you thought about growing a beard, Perry? You know it would make you look sexier and work wonders on my thighs." Della murmured into his ear before she bit him on the lobe and licked his outer shell. He didn't waste time stroking in and out of her over that comment. He was turned on just as much as she was. He pushed her to her limit and moved faster as he slid in and out of her with ease. With each thrust, he hit her clit at just the right angle and she came hard onto him and shuddered around him. Soon, he too followed her and orgasmed inside her welcoming walls before she cried out loud and screamed his name. She stood spent against the shower wall. The warm water washed off their residue, and they held each other for what seemed like hours.

Della lowered her leg down off Perry's hip and stood on wobbly legs as he slipped out of her with ease. He held her in his arms while she wrapped her arms around his waist. She pulled back away from him as he reached for the knob on the shower, shut off the tepid water, pulled the curtain back, and held out his hand for her. Della reached for the large towel and handed him one when he came up to stand behind her.

"Della, you want me to grow a beard now, or was that just a rouse to turn me on? If you want a beard, you got one?" Perry told her when he dried off and left his hair askew which she loved. Della looked in the mirror, saw him peek over her shoulder, and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her bright emeralds looked directly back at him, and she gave him a wry smile when she wrapped the towel around her torso.

"I wouldn't mind, but once beard burn happens down on my sensitive thighs, you're going to have to do something about that, or, maybe I will have to invest in more body cream." Della turned so that her back was up against the sink.

"Is that what you want Della? I will grow a beard just for you, and when it becomes a nuisance, you can shave it off." Perry grinned at her smugly and surprised her when picked her up and made her giggle into his neck before she kissed his cheek.

"Perry, stop! Put me down right now!" Della laughed, but he didn't put her down until he carried her to the bed and slowly followed her down on the mattress. He kissed her, and rubbed his nose against hers affectionately.

"Della, your wish is my command." Perry spooned up behind her, held her close to him, and took her towel off. She was naked, and he could feel her skin against his after he discarded his towel earlier. He kissed her shoulder and earlobe before he tightened his grip on her waist and pulled her closer to him. She closed her eyes and felt the warmth against her backside.

"I love you, Perry," Della whispered and stroked his forearm that held her protectively.

"I love you too Della," Perry murmured into her ear and kissed her in the crook of her neck holding her tightly in his arms before sleep finally overtook the couple.

A Month Later

Brent Building

Los Angeles, CA

Since their last meeting at the cocktail bar, she knew that an apology was due to Perry Mason. If it hadn't been for him, she would have been sentenced and locked away in prison. In the first place, it was a mistake on her part not to talk with him when Della insisted that she should. It all ended great for Janet, but for Della not so much. Perry still had a grudge against Janet for what she had done. It would be a long time before he would ever get over the fact that she betrayed her best friend. A month had gone by with sporadic phone calls between Janet and Della. They kept in touch and always missed an opportunity to do lunch because of their busy schedules. It was Friday morning, Perry had a case and wasn't expected back in the office until noon. The phone on Della's desk rang, and when she picked it up on the second ring, she heard a familiar, female's voice on the other end.

"Della, I hope this is not a bad time for you. I was hoping we could get together today. I'm leaving town for the week and wanted to see you before my flight left for New York." Janet's voice was hopeful and glad that she caught her at her desk.

"Janet, yes, I can meet you in about an hour. I'll be here in the office. Sure, I can't wait to see you. Goodbye." Della hung up the phone as Gertie came back from her lunch break.

"Is there anything I can do for you, Ms. Street?" Gertie smiled at her and stood at her desk.

"Yes, could you type this file up? I'll be going out for lunch here shortly." Della reached for the files and handed her the manila folder.

"I should have it finished when you get back from lunch," Gertie replied and walked to her desk.

Meanwhile, Della looked at another brief that Perry would be working on in the following week. She wanted to surprise Perry after hours and wore black and red lace lingerie under her clothing. She wore a black two-piece suit with a red and black scarf tied around her neck along with her black high-heeled pumps and her gold brooch.

Perry didn't even know she had slipped it on in the morning when he made their coffee. The weekend was coming up, and this would be a nice surprise for him at the end of their workday. Della went into the law library and replaced some books that Perry had left out on the table. She came back into her office and heard that a visitor arrived at the office. Gertie greeted her and opened the door to reveal Mrs. Brent. The two chatted before Della appeared in the office. When they parted ways and said their goodbyes, Gertie went back to her typewriter and continued with the task that Della gave her.

"Della, it's so good to see you. I know I arrived a little earlier than I planned. I'll be out of town for a week because I have a business matter to handle in New York." While Janet explained to Della, the door to the office opened and Perry entered. He wore a black suit with a white dress shirt and a red and black striped tie.

He walked past Della and Janet without any acknowledgment to either of the women. Della sensed that he was still brooding over the incident of Brent's case and it wasn't her fault, even Paul concluded. However, Perry insisted it was her fault when she dragged Della into the mess to cover for her. Della felt the tension in him as he walked into his office and closed his door.

"He's still angry, Della. He won't speak to me again." Janet's voice trembled a little before Della gave her hand a quick squeeze, and assured her with a smile.

"Janet, I promise you that Perry will come to his senses and speak to you. You just wait out here. I've got something I need to do before we go. Could you wait here while I brew some tea for Perry and inform him that I'll be having lunch with you?" Della gave her a sly grin, opened his office door, shut it, and leaned back against the door frame. He didn't look up from the brief that was in front of him since he was so engrossed in the case. Della slowly crossed the room with a sway of her hips, and Perry finally noticed her when she came to his desk, leaned against it, and faced him with her arms crossed.

"Perry, I'm going out with Janet for lunch. Would you like tea before I head out of the office?" Della shifted her legs so that part of her lingerie was visible to him. He caught the glimpse of the garment, shoved the file away from him, and leaned back into his office chair. He finally looked up at her when she grabbed his tie to distract him from her thighs and parted his legs with her knee just enough to feel his erection growing with want.

"Della, you know how I feel about Janet, and how we agreed on you going out with her." Perry groaned when she took her high heel and stroked his inner leg. He was tempted to just have her on the desk right there, but he stopped himself and let her control the situation. He closed his eyes when she leaned down to whisper in his ear.

"I've got a surprise for you tonight, Perry, but you won't get it until you at least speak to Janet." Della's voice was like liquid honey.

"Della, are you bribing me?" Perry replied as he reached for her hands and pulled her towards him. Della resisted him by blocking his hand, but rested them on her hips while she stood in between his parted legs. He finally stood up to face her. Della hadn't touched him, but she yanked his tie to get his attention. He wouldn't be able to keep still for long. The perfume she wore and the sneak peek at her sexy lingerie were his weakness. She pleaded with him to talk to Janet and give her a chance to explain or apologize, or both. He touched her chest through her clothing and gave her ass a hardened but firm squeeze. He was in charge of the office, but she was the boss, and what she said was done her way, and Perry knew she was right. He couldn't stay mad at Janet, but time would heal his wounds.

"Please, Perry, you don't know how much it would mean if you got an apology from her. She is very sorry Perry for everything that happened." Della whined and gave him her sorrowful look that always did the trick when she wanted to get her way.

Perry didn't budge. He was a stubborn mule when it came to speaking to someone who wronged either of them. Della loosened her grip on his tie, which she had seized in her hand, smoothed down his crisp white shirt, fingered the front buttons teasingly, and went for his belt buckle to his slacks. Perry stood firm as he tried not to act on his impulses, but her delicate hand reached for his hardened flesh. Della slowly knelt on her knees before him, unzipped his slacks, and took him in her silky mouth. She swirled her tongue around his head and then up the length of him while she teased him with her teeth. Della pleasured him until he was on the verge of orgasm. After she fondled his scrotum and teased the underside of his flesh, he came hard into her mouth.

"Della, God woman! You're such a bad girl…. what in the world am I going to do with you…?"

He gasped through his clenched teeth and held onto her head and raked her curls through his large hands before she finally tucked him back into his boxer's and zipped him back up with a mischievous grin. Della was satisfied that she made her point across to him. Suddenly, she was taken by surprise when he lifted her onto the desk to get a glimpse of the lacy undergarment as his fingers caress her inner thighs. Della's stomach turned in knots as to what was about to come.

"Perry, your so bad…and… this is not appropriate right now." Della hissed into his ear when his tongue snaked out, tasted her skin just below her ear, and bit her. He smoothed it over with his tongue while he inhaled her scent. She grabbed a fistful of his hair and tugged him away from her, but he surprised her when he nudged her thighs apart with his knee and looked at her with darkened eyes.

"Della, you have no idea what I'm going to do." He murmured against her lips and searched her wanton eyes. He sneaked his large hand under her skirt to find her already wet from her early ministrations. Perry pushed the obstructive fabric aside and dipped his index finger into her wet folds before he added another finger, and she clamped down on his palm. He stroked into her wetness at an agonizingly, slow pace, then he sped up his movements of pleasuring her while he captured her mouth with his to silence her screams. Della wrapped her arms around his shoulders, tugged at his dark hair at the base of his nape, and moaned into his mouth when she climaxed around his fingers. He withdrew his hand from between her legs and licked her juices from his fingers as she watched him with hooded eyes. Not yet satisfied, Perry knelt between her legs, pulled her flush against his eager mouth, and peeled away her undergarment. He would make her scream his name in defeat once he dipped his tongue into her heated core. She gripped his head to her as his tongue did glorious things to her. It was only a matter of seconds when he found her clit, sucked, and lapped at her insides which caused her to buck into his face. He held her hips to steady her while he drank her juices.

"Perry…oh…. You're…so going to pay for this…." Della moaned and smacked him playfully on the shoulder to stop his assault, but he continued to ravish her to the point of another orgasm. Della sucked her bottom lip between her teeth, and when he nibbled and sucked on her clit again, she cried out the secret word that they use only if it's needed. Perry loved to pleasure Della, and this time he wouldn't give into her sighs, moans, or hair-pulling. Finally, Della had enough of his relentless tongue on her, and she needed to go before her friend would be pounding on the door to see what the holdup was.

"Perry, oh…you're going to need to stop! Perry!" Della tried to get his attention but to no avail. When she finally said, "Sherlock Holmes" he abruptly stopped, looked up from between her thighs, and licked his lips as if he was a starving child and needed more of her.

"Perry, umm… Janet's waiting in the outer office, and we are going out for lunch. She's going to start to wonder why I've been in here so long." Della whispered.

"Della, right now you are half-naked on your boss's desk. I don't think you're going anywhere at the moment by the way you look. You're going to have to explain yourself when you get out there." Perry slowly stroked her thighs and cupped her chin to place a chaste kiss on her lips and she tasted herself.

"Perry you are invited to lunch if you want to go with me since you don't trust me." Della gave him a wink before she licked his bottom lip.

"Della, I've had my lunch already, and it was delicious." Perry licked his bottom lip while Della slipped off his desk, smoothed out the wrinkles on her skirt, and pulled her undergarments back up her thighs. Della went to Perry's private bathroom, cleaned up, and fixed her hair so she could be at least presentable to go to lunch. Perry was still seated at his desk when Della came out and nonchalantly walked to his desk. She leaned down and kissed him on his cheek before she walked to the doorknob and opened it. Janet had taken a seat in Della's office and waited on her. Not only did she see Della, but Perry followed behind her.

"Janet, I'm sorry for making you wait. I had to freshen up before we left for lunch." Della smiled at her.

"That's fine Della I understand. Mr. Mason I'd like to say something to you. I know you probably don't even want to speak to me, after all, I've put Della through but I need to get this off my chest right now. I'm truly sorry for getting Della involved with my case. Della was the only friend that I could turn to, she told me to come to the office to speak with you, but I was afraid at the time. I'm very grateful for you defending me." Janet solemnly expressed her emotions.

"Mrs. Brent, it's not that I am mad at you, but I am truly upset that this happened in the first place. Being Della's friend and knowing she tried to help you, if you came to my office for advice, I would have taken your case. However, in the end, you and Della are still friends and there is nothing I can say or do about it. I know you have a history with Della, and I'm fine with that." Perry replied to her and glanced at Della.

"Thank you, Mr. Mason. For everything that you have done for me. Della, are you about ready for lunch?" Janet asked before she walked toward the main door with her purse in hand.

"Yes, I'll be right with you." Della watched Janet leave the office and she shut the door. Della turned to see Perry's eyes on her and pulled her into an embrace.

"Della, please tell me that I will get the main course because the appetizer that I had a few moments ago wasn't fulfilling."

"Perry, you finally spoke to Janet and I'm very proud of you. You will have to wait for the main course since you already sneaked a peek of what was to come tonight." Della slipped her hand between them and grabbed his erection that prodded her belly.

"Della, if you keep that up, I won't let you leave the office." Perry leaned down and kissed her on the lips and she returned his kiss. He picked up her hand in his as she tried to exit, raised her hand to his mouth, and placed a kiss on the back of it. Della left for her lunch date with her friend and Perry would be waiting on her once she got back because Perry had plans for the both of them.

Part 5

PMDSXXX

While Della was out of the office, Perry planned to surprise Della with a romantic, candlelight dinner at home. He settled on steak, baked potatoes, salad, and red wine. Perry returned to the office, closed the door, and brewed the tea Della forgot to make for him. He called the florist and ordered an arrangement of a dozen fresh, red roses. Perry helped himself to the freshly, brewed tea and looked over his brief. A half-hour passed, and Della hadn't arrived back from lunch. Perry finished his tea, closed his brief, and opened the office door to see that Della hadn't returned yet.

"Gertie, I'll be leaving the office for about an hour. If Della gets back before me, tell her I had an errand to run." Perry informed her while he slipped his overcoat over his broad shoulders.

"Okay, Mr. Mason." Gertie smiled at him and continued typing.

Perry hurriedly left so that he could pick up the floral arrangements and set up the dinner. He arrived with a huge arrangement of fresh, red roses and placed the large vase in the bedroom. He placed another vase of fresh-cut red roses in the living room with a heart-shaped box of the finest chocolates. He busied himself in the kitchen, thawed the meat, turned the oven on low, and prepared the meal. The salad wouldn't take long to prepare. The steak and baked potatoes would be done by the time they returned home. Meanwhile, Perry quickly headed back to the office and greeted Gertie again. Della still wasn't back from her lunch. Perry wondered what was keeping her so long since she had left two hours ago. She should have been back by now he thought to himself.

"Gertie, did I get any phone calls?" Perry questioned her as she typed the last paragraph.

"Yes, I did receive a phone call. It was from a client, who explained that they were out when you called. They will be returning your call in about a half hour to set up a date for their meeting. That was the only phone call I've received while you were out of the office, Mr. Mason." Gertie informed him before she got up from her chair and sat the folder on Della's desk.

"Okay, Gertie. I'm going into my office now." Perry shrugged his overcoat off his shoulders after he walked into his office and placed it on the coat rack in the law library.

Della and Janet enjoyed their lunch date as time got away from them. Janet looked at her watch and paid for their meals before she spoke to Della.

"It's been great having lunch with you, Della. I'm glad I got that burden with Perry off my chest. Apologizing to him was very important to me. I knew he would still have an issue with his trust in me, but I'm glad I did finally speak to him." Janet sipped her tea from her teacup and looked over at her friend.

"It will take Perry time to get over this. I'm sure he will be suspicious of you for a long time. He knows you made a mistake, and I did too. We have been through a lot together. In law school, we were friends, and we will continue to be friends. I knew you had no one to turn to for help, and I thought to myself. What if I had no one? I placed myself in your situation, Janet. What if I had no one to rely on? What if Perry and I hadn't met in law school? Where would we be now? Especially, now that Perry is a respectable lawyer and highly sought after. Both of our fates would be unknown. It was a long road for all of us." Della consoled her.

"Della, I can't think you enough, Perry especially. I'm very grateful that he defended my case, and words can't describe how I feel now. I'm just glad that we are on a very slow, mending process." Janet gave Della's hand a light squeeze from across the table.

"I'm afraid Della that our lunch date is over. My flight will be leaving in an hour. I must go."

"Yes, and I better get back to the office before Perry sends out a search party for me." Della smiled at her as they rose from their table, hugged each other, and promised to keep in touch once Janet returned from her trip.

Perry finished his phone call from his client before Della opened the main office door. It had been over two hours since Della had left for her lunch, and Perry wondered what kept her so long. Della filed the manila folder in the cabinet that Gertie had placed on her desk. Della opened Perry's office door and peeked her head inside as he read over his brief for the upcoming week. He glanced in her direction when she walked into the law library to hang her coat up.

"I thought you were going out for lunch Della. You should have returned an hour ago. What kept you? I was going to hunt for you if you hadn't walked through the door just now." Perry grumbled low in his throat and scratched his chin.

"Chief, it was a lunch date with Janet. Sorry, if I kept you waiting. I'll be in my office if you need me." Della gave him a hard look before she sauntered away from him. Perry smiled to himself and thought of the surprise he had for her at home. Perry looked at his gold watch, an anniversary gift from Della, and closed his file before he placed it in his briefcase and rose from his chair when a knock came from his private door.

"Hey, Perry. Sorry if I'm intruding but I got the lead you wanted for your next client. If you don't have anything at the moment for me, I planned to take Gertie out for dinner at a quiet restaurant downtown to wrap up the workday." Paul said and lit up his cigarette and leaned up against the desk.

"I've got plans myself tonight, Paul. You can have the rest of the night off. I'll see you Monday morning." Perry gave him a nod and waved his hand as Della caught wind of the conversation.

"Hi, Beautiful. Goodbye Beautiful!" Paul called out to her with a toothy grin before he met Gertie at her desk.

"What was that all about Perry?" Della crossed her arms and shrugged.

"Paul is taking Gertie out for dinner tonight." Perry got out of his chair and helped Della into her coat. Perry put his coat on, grabbed his briefcase, opened the door, and held it for her as she brushed by him.

"Perry, why are we rushing out of the office? It's only five o'clock. We are going home early. Something must be up. What are you up to?" Della's voice trailed off when he took her by her elbow and guided her out of the office towards the waiting elevator.

"You'll see when we get home. After all, you gave me a surprise that I wasn't expecting. I thought we'd call it a day since it's Friday. I want to finish what you started in my office with you giving me a sneak peek at your sexy lingerie. I had no idea you wore that until a few hours ago." Perry whispered into her ear and held onto her waist as they stepped into the empty elevator.

Once they arrived home, Perry rushed to open her car door and placed his hand on her lower back. He unlocked and opened the door slowly while Della patiently stood behind him. She could smell the aroma from the kitchen and knew Perry had something up his sleeve. She walked past him, spotted the large vase of red roses and a heart-shaped box of chocolates on the living room table, dropped her purse, and went into the kitchen. It was a romantic dinner that he had planned for the two of them.

"Perry, when did you find time to set all this up?" Della questioned him as she came back from the kitchen. She hadn't even seen the bedroom yet.

"When you left the office to go to lunch, I had plenty of time to spare. You took your time getting back to the office, by the way, two hours Della. Just who else joined you on your lunch break with your friend, Janet?" Perry suspiciously asked her as he placed his arms around her waist and pulled her to him. She slid her hands up his chest before she wrapped them behind his head. She pulled him in for a kiss on his lips and smiled at his allegation.

"Perry, there was no one else. I promise you that and you did this for me. What's your angle?" Della countered him and lowered her eyes at him before she playfully nudged him with her knee, which made him groan, and he held her tightly to him.

"There is no angle. I wanted to please my wife since she was late getting back from the office with her lunch date and show her how spoiled she is being with a man who loves her." Perry leaned forward slowly, captured her lips with his, and passionately kissed her. Since she was taken by surprise, she broke for air, as he rested his forehead against hers.

"You must be hungry Perry." Della's breath was like a whisper against his lips before he stepped away and walked into the kitchen.

"I'll set everything on the table since it's my night to please my wife." Perry gave her a mischievous grin, and Della gave him a smirk.

Perry went to the cabinet and retrieved the red wine with the two glass goblets and set them on the table. He arranged the plates and checked on the steaks and the baked potatoes, which were almost done to perfection. The salad, which he tossed in no time, sat on the table. Della walked to the bedroom to change out of her work attire and found another box of chocolates on her dresser along with another vase of flowers. Della smiled to herself because she knew how lucky she was to have Perry in her life. He always surprised her no matter the expense, and she would thank him for all of it. Della rummaged through their closet until she found the silk robe, which she wore over her satin lingerie, and fastened the sash around her waist. Before she entered the kitchen foyer, Della leaned up against the door frame and watched her husband prepare their dinner with a smile on her face.

Perry, who was dressed in his dark slacks, rolled up the sleeves of his white dress shirt and unknotted his tie around his neck. He hadn't changed into anything comfortable like Della, who approached him slowly, wrapped her arms from behind him, and hugged him.

"Perry, thank you for fixing dinner tonight." Della peeked around his robust shoulder to see the delicious meal he had prepared for them.

"Della, it's always a treat for me to please you and make you happy."

Della smoothed her hands down his back before she took her seat at the table. She poured the wine into their goblets and waited for him while he plated their dinner. He arranged it like a professional chef before he joined her at the table. He noticed Della had changed into her partly open robe, and the lingerie she had worn earlier exposed her bosom. Perry eyed her only for a few minutes before Della nudged him under the table with her foot to draw his attention away from her cleavage.

"So, how did your lunch date go with Janet?" Perry cleared his throat and he cut his steak into pieces.

"It was very nice, Perry. She has business in New York and will be out of town for a week before she returns to Los Angeles. Plus, she had the intention of seeing and speaking to you personally before she left." Della picked at her potato and consumed the soft morsel all the while he watched her from across the table. She licked her lips, sipped her wine and continued to cut her steak with her knife.

"I'm not angry anymore, but I am still a little disappointed about the whole ordeal that involved you. I know it will take time to get over this as we discussed, but my feelings haven't changed about you going out with her, Della. I don't want to see you get into mischief again, and if another girlfriend, must go then so be it." Perry continued to eat his steak while he looked at her from across the table. As she finished her meal, she reached for the salad bowl.

"Perry, did you forget to set the dressing out? I'll get it. What would you like? Italian or Ranch?" Della got up from her chair, walked to the cabinet, and opened it.

"Italian is fine Della," Perry helped himself to the salad before Della came over to him and bent down. Her robe gaped open to show the lingerie hiding under her robe. He reached out to touch the fabric of her gown and allowed his index finger to linger much longer than he expected. She gave him a smirk and stood up while his fingers brushed her ample breasts and returned to her seat. Della knew what she was doing to him and couldn't help herself. It was a slow tease, and he knew it. He gazed at her from across the table, sipped his wine from the rim of his goblet, and shifted his weight in his chair to get comfortable. It was becoming unbearable for him to sit across from her wearing that sexy negligée that he wanted to rip off her and have his way with her.

"Is there a problem Perry? I noticed you were fidgety in your chair." Della gave him a grin and began to fork out her salad. She looked up from her plate and gave him a once over before she consumed the baby tomato into her mouth and winked at him teasingly.

"Della, you are the most attractive person I've seen all day, and my other problem is that you are not naked yet in our bed because I'm finding it hard to control my impulses right now." Perry groaned, finished his meal, pushed himself away from the table, and discarded his empty plate, and wine glass into the sink. He turned to see her still sitting at the table in no hurry to finish her salad. He returned to his chair to observe her. Della finished her salad, took her plates to the sink, washed their dishes and put them in the strainer. Perry got up from his chair slowly approached her from behind and immediately placed his hands around her waist while she finished her task with the dirty utensils. Della leaned back into his embrace as he nuzzled her neck and placed gentle kisses on her juggler while his stubble scratched her sensitive skin. As he moved his hands in a slow, gentle stroking motion on her waist, he rested his hands on her hips. Della pushed back against him and felt his desire for her as she dried her hands with the kitchen towel before she turned with her back to the sink and looked up at him with longing.

"How are you going to remedy that Counselor?" Della lowered her eyes to his shirt and unbuttoned it as she popped them one by one while her soft hands brushed against his chest hair, which tickled him and made him tremble at her tender touch. She licked her bottom lip, sucked it in between her teeth, and gave him a sultry smile.

"Della, my smart, sexy, beautiful, gorgeous secretary, and gorgeous wife shouldn't be asking me that right now because she can read me like a book." Perry took her hands into his and placed kisses on her palms which made her close her eyes.

"Perry, I wanted to thank you for dinner tonight." Della gave him a peck on the lips, touched his cheek, took him by his tie, and led him to their king-size bed. He followed her lead and sat down on the edge of the bed. Perry looked up at her with dark eyes, and she untied the sash of her robe and slowly revealed her lingerie before his eager eyes. He reached out to touch her, but she swatted at him to keep him at bay. It worked for a little while as she slipped the robe off her frame and revealed the sexy lingerie that he caught a glimpse of in the office earlier.

The black and red lace did little to hide her luscious curves and he couldn't help himself when she turned her back on him. He stood up behind her and moved the strap from her shoulder. He brushed his lips across her flesh, planted a kiss on her shoulder, and whispered sweet words into her ear that made her heart pound in her chest. Della turned and faced him while his button-down shirt was still half untucked from his slacks. She slowly pulled his shirt out from his slacks which held a prominent bulge. She licked her bottom lip as she pushed him down onto the bed. Kissing her on the lips, he tasted the wine as their tongues fought for supremacy. She broke for air before he grabbed her wrists into his larger hands.

"Perry, if you don't stop touching me, I'm going to have to do something about it," Della warned him playfully, took his tie off his neck along with his shirt, and discarded his shirt on the floor. She held his tie in her grasp.

"What are you going to do about it? Back at the cocktail lounge, it seemed to me that you didn't mind Lt. Hawk's hands on you." Perry accused her in a teasing tone which was a mistake on his part to even think that Della enjoyed being in another man's arms, more so being touched by someone other than her husband.

"Are you accusing me of enjoying myself? What if I was? What are you going to do about it?" Della whispered into his ear before she bit him on the lobe and retreated.

He growled at her, pulled her onto his lap, and kissed her hard as she wrapped her arms behind his head and pulled him in for a passionate kiss on his lips. With all her strength she could muster, she pushed him flat on his back which surprised him. She straddled his waist, smoothed her hands down his chest, tweaked his nipples into her delicate fingers, and slid her well-manicured fingernails down his belly. He flinched as she hooked her index fingers into the waistband of his trousers, and pulled them off him along with his socks. He was stripped out of his clothing while she was still attired in her lingerie. He took her hands in his, intertwined them with his much larger ones, and settled her weight on him.

Perry couldn't stop looking at her. She was a goddess. He would never get tired of looking at her. He rose from the mattress, placed a kiss on her lips, and let his mouth drift away from her hungry mouth. He was surprised when Della pushed him away again. He knew what she had planned for him. Being a hands-on kind of guy, she took his silk tie and bound his hand to the bedpost. One of her nipples peeked out into his view, and he captured it with his mouth and sucked hard when she leaned down to secure him.

"I warned you, Perry, that I was going to do something about you touching me, and you didn't listen. Now, look at you. You've got one hand tied because next time, it'll be both your hands." Della whispered against his lips and stroked her hands through his dark hair and caressed his stubbly cheek with her hand. Della kissed, licked, and trailed her soft tongue along his frame while she took her time and seduced him with her tongue. While her mouth sucked hard on his nipple, she grazed her teeth against his sensitive button which caused him to lift off the mattress, but was halted in touching her.

Using one free hand, he stroked her hair into his grip and pulled her up to meet his hungry lips. She backed away from him, lapped at his lower torso, and kissed him just above the navel. Her lingerie caused friction on his overheated flesh, and he was rock hard the moment she straddled his massive body. Della stroked his thighs, held his engorged member in her hand, and took him in her mouth. One smooth lick up the length of his rock-hard penis and a caress to his scrotum was all he could take from her tender touch. He seized her head in his hand while he struggled to get loose from his restraints. He panted hard. His body overheated while she teased his flesh and finally took him in her mouth. She teased the underside of his cock, took her time, and licked the tip before she slipped it back down into her warm mouth and sucked hard. He thrashed against the mattress under her.

"Della, baby…. You have to stop…please… I need…." Perry's pleas were between a grunt to a growl when he tugged on his restraints, but it was no use.

"You need what, Perry?" Della spoke softly to him as he slipped out of her mouth, and she looked up from between his legs with his erection at full attention. Ignoring the fact that he pleaded with her to set him free, she didn't acknowledge his request. Della licked and sucked him until he came hard into her mouth when he climaxed and he called out her name. Sweat-soaked skin and the smell of their passion filled the room as Della placed open mouth kisses along his penis and the underside of his length. He finally called out, "Sherlock Holmes". It was too much for him and with only one hand bound. Della slowly released him and grazed him with her teeth before he slipped out of her mouth, and she gave him a satisfied smile.

"Della, please!" He pleaded with her only to have her crawl up his frame and plant sporadic kisses along his chest before she stroked his cheek and captured his mouth with hers. Their heated kiss went on for several more minutes before she parted from him. He could feel the heat from her inner core through the fabric of her lingerie. Perry took his free hand and dipped it into her wet core and withdrew his finger that was coated in her juices. He smugly licked it off his finger as she watched with hooded eyes.

"If I turn you loose, you promise to be good." Della judged him, and he gave her a devilish grin that showed his dimples.

"Yes!" Perry whined and knew once he was free it was over for Della.

Della leaned over to undo his restraint and he was finally free to touch her with both his hands. She took his wrist into her hands and rubbed it to get his circulation pumping through the veins. Perry withdrew his hand from hers, removed her lingerie, and quickly flipped her over so that he now had total control over her. He was careful not to put all his weight on her and settled between her thighs. He kissed down her chest, took her sensitive nipple into his mouth, tugged and lavished one then the other before he dipped his head down towards her heat. Her hands flew into his sweaty hair, caressing his scalp, scratched at his shoulders and lower back. She gripped his forearms while his mouth savored her entrance. He inhaled her scent, licked his lips, and plunged his tongue into her wetness, where he found her clit, lavished it, and sucked it. She bucked into his face as he pleasured her with his tongue. Della thrashed against the mattress and gripped the sheets in one hand while the other held his head to her center. He continued his ministrations on her already swollen clit, and she cried out his name when he brought her to climax. He drank her juices and lapped at her as she quaked under his talented tongue.

"Oh….Perry…." Della moaned as she felt him peppering kisses up her body. She gripped his cock into her hand and guided him home. He paused for a moment before she pulled him all the way down with one leg hooked around his backside, and he obliged her needs. He captured her mouth with his, stroked in and out of her slowly, and allowed her to set the pace. Perry slipped out of her core before he agonizingly pushed back into her and bumped her clit with his penis before he captured one of her nipples into his mouth and she called out his name in ecstasy. He thrusted up into her and pulled out of her which caused more friction against her clit. She clenched her walls around him and came hard around his shaft. It was all he could do but held off on his orgasm as she came around him and shuddered around his shaft. He too came hard inside her and spilled his seed into her welcoming walls. He collapsed onto her with all his weight as she wrapped her arms around his back and held him to her.

His much larger physique covered hers. She startled him when she sighed. He was relieved when she pulled his head down for another passionate kiss. Della hummed in the back of her throat, and she opened her eyes and saw him gaze back at her. He positioned his arms on both sides of her head for support so that he wouldn't crush her with his weight.

"Stay right where you are Perry." Della whispered under her breath.

"I can do that, but you know I can't be like this all-night Della." Perry moved his head at the crook of her neck before he sighed into her ear. As he felt his cock soften, he pulled out of her and laid his head on her chest. He breathed in her scent while she stroked his large shoulders and ran her fingernails across his back. He looked up at her with a smile on her face.

"Della are we okay? I mean after the incident with the cocktail bar." Perry mumbled into her breast while feeling her hands thread through his sweaty hair.

"Perry, we are fine." Della grabbed his stubbled chin, pulled his face to hers, and gave him a sweet kiss on his lips. Della reassured him that everything was just fine, and he didn't need to worry.

They lay intertwined for a while until the air in the room chilled their bodies. Perry got out of bed and pulled Della with him to get a welcoming shower. After they had showered, Della tossed their sheets into the wash and made their bed with fresh linen while Perry shaved. Perry took his time and noticed Della had tiptoed in the bathroom to watch him from the mirror.

"Della, I forgot to ask you if you wanted me to shave or not?" Perry questioned her as he looked into the mirror and saw her coming toward him.

"Perry, whatever makes you happy." Della placed her arms around his waist and hugged her to him.

"Do you want me to keep the beard or not?" Perry repeated while he pinned her backside against the porcelain sink.

"Let me show you my answer, Perry." Della picked up the shaving lotion and shaved his cheek, very carefully as he watched her.

"One day Della, I'll grow it out, and I promise you that you will love it."

"You promise to keep it neatly trimmed and not like a mountain man?" Della cocked her head to one side teasingly.

"I promise to keep it presentable just for you, my dear." He chuckled at her while she used his razor and made a smooth clean shave across his cheeks and chin.

The following day Perry wanted to take Della out to the boardwalk for a relaxing day at the beach. It was a nice, warm, sunny day, the storefronts complimented the oceanfront. Della was always eager to window shop while Perry just loved to see her happy. The couple grabbed lunch out on the pier and took in the scenery as the ocean waves pounded onto the beachfront. Meanwhile, a familiar face spotted Della and her companion from afar. Lt. Hawks observed how Della seemed content and happy with Perry since the last time he saw her with him and approached cautiously. Della watched Perry finish off his ice cream cone and playfully took her time in consuming hers before she offered some of hers to him. He graciously lapped at it. After they ate, Della and Perry walked down the boardwalk and found a bench to sit on.

"Pardon me. Is that you Della? I thought that was you from way back there. I noticed your elegance and grace." Lt. Hawks beamed down at her and saw the annoyed grimace on her face.

"Hi. How are you doing, Lt. Hawks?" Della's tone was not a thrilling one, but she was overly nice just as she always was.

"I am getting fresh recruits for the Naval academy and had a little time to spare. I happened to be on the boardwalk at the same time as you. What a coincidence?" He tried his best to flatter her, but he wasn't thrilled that she was accompanied by her husband.

"That's great to hear. More young, prospective adults joining the force. I wish them all good luck and you too Lt." Della replied as she kept her focus on Perry, who was getting irritated by his presence.

"I see you're still with your husband since the cocktail bar incident. Anything I can do to help, Della? Is he on good behavior since I'm here?" Lt. Hawks sneered at Perry.

Perry acknowledged him with a sideways glance and was about to speak, but Della quickly stood up and confronted the Lieutenant. Della angrily slapped him across the face when he insulted Perry.

"My husband and I have been very happy for many years. You don't need to pry into our affairs, but I do thank you for being concerned. Perry and I have discussed a lot of things in our relationship." Della narrowed her eyes at him and then raised her eyebrows in repulsion.

"Della, I'm sorry for everything. Perry, I don't know you, and I didn't want to meddle in your marital problems with Della. I hope you know I'm not a threat to either of you. I wish you all the best." Lt. Hawks solemnly turned and walked away from their lives.

Della watched as he disappeared from her view. Perry took her hand in his and pulled her towards him on the bench. Della looked down at Perry, who held onto her hands, and she stood between his outstretched legs.

"Perry, you were right about that Lt. Hawks." Della watched his expression.

"I told you that he would get the wrong idea about us. Who wouldn't get the wrong idea? I mean you're a sexy, beautiful, smart, and alluring woman who's happily married to a generous husband, who would go to the ends of the earth to protect her." Perry inched her forward as she leaned down and sealed his promise with a passionate kiss. They didn't care about being seen. The ocean breeze whipped around the pair as they kissed and tussled her curls about her brow. As they were still lip-locked, Perry finally stood up and pulled Della against him in his strong embrace. Della broke the kiss and looked up at his blue iris which resembled the ocean. Perry gazed into her hazel eyes and removed an errant curl from her eye.

"Della, let's go down to the beach and get some sun. How about it?"

"Sounds like a good idea, Perry. I want to see the sunset over the horizon. It's a very beautiful sight when the sun sets."

"Not as beautiful as you, Della." Perry chuckled at her as he took her hand in his and led the way to the beach.
