A/N: Hey there is just a one-shot of a random idea I had.
Also I don't own Oregairu
After I finished my call with Zaimokuza I made my way to one of the other buildings of the school that had a staircase which led to the rooftop of the building, it was the most likely location where Sagami would be. I had to berate myself for not thinking about checking that place first, it's secluded but not so much where you wouldn't want to be found. I was on the staircase just 10 more steps until I reached the door to the rooftop. I continued walking until I stopped for some reason that could only be described as a bad feeling in my gut.
I had a cold sweat on my forehead and had a bad feeling something was gonna to me or someone. I didn't know why I was thinking like this but I decided to brush it aside thinking that if something were to happen something were to happen it could only be as bad as getting punched in the gut by Hiratsuka-sensei, which I really hope it isn't but knowing my luck it probably is.
I was now in front of the door that led to the rooftop and opened to find Sagami standing behind the railings looking in the distance. She turned around hearing the door open and was met with my somewhat good looking face. She looked both visibly disappointed and annoyed then went back to looking into whatever she was looking at.
"The closing ceremony is gonna start, get down there" I said to her. "Hasn't it started already?" She responded without facing me.
"Under normal circumstances yes, but they're buying time for you, so-" I never got finish as she interrupted me "Oh? and who is buying time?"
"Mirua and Yukinoshita" I answered "Then why don't you have Yukinoshita-san do it? She can do anything after all" she said. I was getting quite annoyed with her. Is she really wasting everyone's time to find her because she feels inferior to Yukinoshita? It's the chairwoman's job to present the note tally. "It's your job to present the voting tally and a bunch of other stuff" I said to her. She scoffed at that and snapped at me to just do it myself.
Realistically it would be best to simply tell her words she wants to hear to convince her to come back, but there are 2 problems with that: 1) that's not me and 2) even if I were to tell her that, why would she want to hear that from me? As I was thinking of a way for her to come down stairs the same bad feeling I had on the stairs was plaguing inside me, but before I could muse on that the door opened to reveal both Hayame and Sagami's 2 friends one with dark brown hair and the other with chestnut brown hair.
Apparently Hayame asked around and someone saw me heading to the roof and now here he is. He and the 2 girls walked towards Sagami and tried to convince Sagami to come with them, key word 'tried'. The interaction they were having was exactly how I thought it was going. Yukinoshita did things her own way till the bitter end and I also planned on doing things my own way whether villainous, vile, unequivocal or vicious.
"I'm horrible" Sagami said in a weak pitiful tone "Yeah you are" I said to which everyone on the roof gave me a surprised look. I begun my talk on why she is horrible and her true reasons for becoming chairwoman and I would have said more if Hayame didn't grab me by the collar shirt shoving me back against the wall.
"Shut up Hikigaya" Hayame said with venom in his words but I did my best not to look bothered by it and kept silent. Should of been the moment after me and Hayame stare down the girls would convince him to let me and all of them would leave the rooftop leaving me to my own devices, however something unexpected happened which led to something much worse and that something came in the sound of a *clap"
"""""?"""""
We all looked at the edge on the roof to see a male figure standing on the rails on the roof. He was taller than average, wore a flamboyant dark red suit with a white undershirt, had jet black hair that was gelled back, wore a smiley face opera mask that covered his whole face and had white gloves on his hands.
*clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap* *clap*
Was all the man was doing, seeming assumed at this whole situation. There were many questions that needed to be asked but because we were all so confused and surprised from his appearance, we did not make a sound which left the man to continue clapping.
After a few seconds of constant clapping and the rest of my classmates being silent, Sobu prince finally said something. "Um who are you and what are you doing standing there". The man stopped clapping with his hands grasped together and began giving a very low and ominous chuckle, getting louder and louder each passing second and until he burst into a full blown maniacal laugh scaring all of us in the process which led to the girls getting behind Hayame. I couldn't help but want to get as far away from this man as possible as I could feel as his malicious intent was aimed at me, which gave me another cold sweat.
The figure finally stopped laughing and despite not seeing his face I could tell he was looking directly at me. "Who am I… well that's nothing of importance, …just know" he lifted his finger pointing it directly at Sagami, making her flinch getting closer to Hayame's back. "...that this happened, because of you" He said that last part both in an amused ominous tone.
We were still shaken from his presence but all of us had confused looks on our faces. Hayame then broke the silence "who are you and what are you talking about-?!"
Immediately after Hayame demanded for an answer I felt a burning sharp pain in my chest and looked down in horror to see that the arm of the man was stabbed right through my chest. I slowly looked up to see the mask the man was wearing, while coughing out some blood. 'How…how the hell…did he get here so fast…why am I being stabbed… what the hell… is going on?' I thought to myself as the man removed his arm from chest as my body dropped to the floor with blood pouring out, as my consciousness started to fade and my breath got shorter and shorter.
"""Kyyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!""" the girls screamed bloody murder as they and Hayame looked at the man and my bleeding body in horror as they were all frozen with fear in there eyes, as then one of the girls dropped to her knees having tears in eyes thinking they were all going to die next.
"Well I guess that's it today" The man said in a chirper tone and turned to the teenagers and gave them a mocking bow. He then calmly walked to the railings of the roof as no one did anything as they were all frozen in fear of what the man just did. He jumped on the rails and let his body fall from the height, making it look like he was trying to kill himself.
The teenagers got out of their shock and Hayame was the first to react. "Hikigaya!" Hayame shouted as he rushed to my body. He turned my body over and saw the hole in my chest and my very little breathing coming from my lips. "Call an ambulance, hang on Hikigaya!" Hayame said as he took off his shirt and used it to cover the hole in my chest to try and prevent any more blood from being lost.
One of the girls broke out of her shocked state and shakingly took out her phone and called an ambulance as the other girl went downstairs to get help from somewhere, while Sagami was still in a shocked and fearful state as she couldn't process or understand what just happened in front of her.
"It's…so…cold" I said weakly "Don't talk Hikigaya, just stay with use a bit longer" Hayame said as he was still trying to stop the blood from coming out. 'So this is how I die huh? Getting stabbed by some strange man in a tacky suit' I thought to myself as I could practically see my life up until till point flash before my eyes. If I'm being honest I didn't know what to think, sure I didn't have the best childhood but it wasn't as bad as I'm pretty some other guys would have
My mind then raced through some events in my past from seeing my sister for the first time, epicly failing at trying to start a conversation with some of my classmates, confessing to Orimoto, Saving Yuigahama's dog, meeting Yukino, coming to the service club everyday, to planning the school festival to now getting killed by some serial killer with terrible fashion sense.
As I thought this the door then burst open to reveal Hiratsuka-sensei and another teacher both having a look of panic only for it to turn to a look of terror as they saw blood all over the floor with a student bleeding from the chest and another student trying to stop the blood with his shirt.
The teachers immediately called an ambulance and helped in stopping the blood but it was proving futile as the hole was too big to stop the amount of blood that was being released. As they were doing this I forced myself to stay conscious to say what I think will be my last words. "Sensei… *cough*" "Don't speak Hikigaya help is on the way" Hiratsuka-sensei said in a desperate voice. "Tell… my family… I love them…" I finally said as I fully went unconscious as darkness consumed me.
"Hikigaya Hikigay-!" was the last thing I heard from sensei
The ambulance arrived a minute later and I was immediately rushed to the hospital. The school festival had to be cancelled and school was closed for a week because of the incident as news spread fast that a student was supposedly killed. Hayame and the girls were questioned by the police on what happened, and as to be expected they didn't believe them, there was also no evidence that it could be that it was one of the teenagers not making them suspects.
I was taken to the hospital and the doctors told my family that I wouldn't make it, that I would at most have 24 hours to live. My family were devastated and cried knowing know that their only son was going to die within 24 hours, but they weren't as devastated as my sister Komachi as this will be the last time she will ever see her brother, the person who was always there for her will now be gone forever in her life made the middle school girl go to complete despair.
When some of the students/teachers I was familiar with heard I only have 24 hours to live, the reactions varied. Yuigahama was in a state of despair, Zaimokuza was deeply saddened that his "comrade" was going to die, Hayame was ashamed that he couldn't do anything to prevent my supposed inevitable death, Hiratsuka-sensei felt like it was her fault that lead to this, Yukinoshita was both saddened and almost in a state of denial of what happened and most of Hayames clique were sympathetic for my demise, but out of all the students the one with the most complex feelings were Sagami herself.
She couldn't help but replay the events that lead to this point. Specifically the part where the strange man pointed at her saying it was her fault that this happened. She shouldn't have listened to what that creepy mask wearing man said. Afterall how could she be at fault? She barely even knows me, much less actually interacted with me besides the talk on the rooftop, but the thought of herself somehow being a part of my death didn't do any favours for her mental well being.
She didn't know what she was feeling or what she was supposed to feel. Guilt, sadness, sympathy, anger, confusion, frustration, anxious, annoyed, lost, her emotions were all over the place. One thing was definitely certain she didn't do this after Hikigaya humiliated her on the rooftop and insulted her; she sure as hell didn't wish death on him, and the worst part was that the police haven't found any leads to the man in the red suit. "What the hell is going on?" she whispered out loud as she laid down on her bed.
