Chapter 4 See Each Other Again?

Noctis' POV

My friends and I had returned to the small apartment that we all lived in together.

When we got there, a dog with black fur was waiting outside our door.

"Umbra", I said happily as the dog walked up to me.

"Hey there boy", Prompto greeted. "You got a message for Noct?"

With that, I kneeled down besides Umbra…and took a notebook out of the carrier bag he wore on his back.

I read the latest entry in the notebook. This is what it said.

I have arrived in Lucis.

After reading this, I wrote down my reply.

Maybe that means we can finally see each other again after all these years?

After I wrote this, I put the notebook back in Umbra's bag before giving him a pat on the head.

Then, he ran off.

"Bye boy", Prompto yelled out before looking at me. "So, what'd she say?"

"And how'd you reply", Gladio asked.

"Like I'm gonna tell you guys."

Lunafreya's POV

I was sitting in my room when I suddenly heard a bark.

I turned around, and saw my dog Umbra running up to me.

I gave him a pat on the head. Then, I took something out of the bag he wore on his back.

The item I took out…was a notebook.

I read the latest entry in the notebook, and this is what it said.

Maybe that means we can finally see each other again after all these years?

Reading these words made my heart swell. Could it be that we could finally see each other after all these years?

I was about to write my reply, but before I could…there was a knock at my door.

I quickly shoved the notebook into the desk draw and closed it.

"Come in", I said.

With that…a young man walked into my room.

"Is something the matter, Ravus", I asked him.

"I heard that you went out into the city today without your guards", Ravus revealed.

"I simply wanted to see what the crown city is like", I replied. "Must I really travel with my guards for something as simple as that? Besides, it's not like I was alone. Gentiana was with me."

"I doubt Gentiana would tell me the truth about what you do while not in my sight", Ravus pointed out.

"My loyalties are to the oracle", Gentiana pointed out. "Not to the empire."

"Exactly", Ravus said before looking at me. "You are not to leave the citadel without your guards. Do I make myself clear, Lunafreya?"

"Yes Ravus", I replied.

"Good", Ravus said before he began to make his leave. "And don't forget about the ball tonight."

With that, Ravus left.

"The ball", I repeated.

Then, I took out the notebook from the draw and read the latest entry again.

Maybe that means we can finally see each other again after all these years?

Making up my mind, I wrote down a reply.
