After a hard day, you return home and boot the game back up. Monika greets you graciously.
"Thanks for coming back. I was starting to worry you were still mad at me."
You continue on, hunting for treasure wherever you can find it. When you stumble upon the northern woods, a cutscene begins.
"To tell you the truth, I've been looking into your world since we last spoke. From what I've discovered, it seems like an unpleasant place to live. What are your feelings on it?"
You're presented with another set of choices. Not wanting to lie or be overly pessimistic, you tell her it can be sometimes.
"I see. You must have a strong will in order to resist its hold. I'm impressed."
You continue into the woods. Toward the end, you encounter your first boss: a mutated spider with razor-sharp legs and an unnaturally powerful jaw.
"This reminds me of Natsuki's poem. I hate bugs."
You quickly dispatch it with a fire spell.
During the next scene, Monika leans against a tree.
"Sorry. I guess there are some limitations here even I can't get around."
You ask if she's all right.
"I'll be fine. I just need to rest for a minute."
A few moments pass.
"I'm truly sorry for all the hurt I caused you. If I'd known what you were going through in your world, I would've let things run their course. I wish I could take it back."
You assure her all is forgiven.
"You really are a good person, aren't you?"
The game continues on.
