Chapter 0
"Clara!" Oswald called out, his hands around his mouth.
"Clara!" Mickey echoed, his voice coming from the neighborhood's intersection. Farther away sounds of the mechanical cow's name could be heard through the neighborhood,
Oswald got to the intersection as Mickey got to the end of his street, the rabbit giving him a shake of his head.
"You think I should get in my car and see if she's gone out of the neighborhood?" Mickey called out as he walked over to his brother.
"Maybe," Oswald said, his brain frazzled as he met the mouse in the middle. He scratched his head as he added, "I wish I knew what got into her. She was doing fine this morning."
"You think you might've missed something when you were fixing the bug with her tools?" Mickey offered, pulling out a set of keys from his pocket.
"The tool problem was with how I attached cables," Oswald admitted, looking at his feet as he held his chin in thought. "This would be from her AI." He looked up at Mickey and asked, "You think we should call the prof?"
A mooing caught their attention down the street to see Morty holding his good hand on the side of the mechanical cow as he walked beside her, two black ears poking out behind Clara's head. Noticing the two's attention, Morty raised up his left arm in its blue cast to give them a wave with a confused look on his face.
"Well that's good," Mickey said, shoving his keys back in his pocket. "Morty, Ferdie, where'd you find her?"
"This ain't Ferdie," Morty said, awkwardly pointing his thumb at the mouse riding Clara.
The three stopped in front of the adults as the little mouse put gloved hands on Clara's head and stood up, showing she was in an older yellow dress. A smile grew wide on her face as she noticed Mickey and exclaimed, "Daddy!"
Oswald gave Mickey a panicked looked, seeing his feelings mirrored on the mouse's face.
