Sometimes Jungkook wished to dream forever.
With that said, he didn't mean that he wanted to commit suicide - no. He just wanted to dream so he could always see this beautiful and colorful dreamworld in front of him.
The real world wasn't as tempting as that, because if this world had been beautiful or even colorful enough for him to be happy, he would have never had to wish to be somewhere else than where he was now.
His mother had worried about him a lot in the last months, in the end, she had bought him a dog because she hoped that would cheer him up.
She told him it was a german shepherd girl and that she went to a dog school so if Jungkook was in danger the dog could protect him.
Jungkook named her 'Tam', he had always loved exotic and unordinary names.
He played with Tam all the time but that didn't really make him happier. Of course, he loved the dog, but it seemed as if nothing could entirely cheer him up, so they decided to move into another city because his mother thought it would help him.
Jungkook had never really had good friends at his old school so his mother prayed for him to at least find a few there.
On Monday the next week, Jungkook's mother packed his backpack and he left to go to school with Tam.
The school wasn't as far away as he had thought so he arrived there pretty quickly. Tam left as soon as they passed the gates and Jungkook knew that she would be there waiting for him when the school had ended.
He arrived at the secretary's office and got his schedule, then he asked a nearby student for the way to the classroom.
Because Jungkook had arrived at school quiet early, the lesson hadn't started yet but he felt the few students who already occupied the room staring at him as he sat down in the back.
As soon as he sat down the others started to ignore him again. He himself concentrated on his schedule.
It seemed as if his classes today would all be taking place in one room.
The fact made him sigh in relief slightly, he hated having to switch rooms in a hurry because he would get pushed around by the many students rushing out the door and through the floors.
As soon as Jungkook finished his thought progress, a student walked up to his desk and he had to look up to him because he felt the intense glares send at him.
"Hey, are you new here? My name is Namjoon and I'm the class representative."
"Oh, yes I just moved here.", he replied.
"If you want I can show you around after class. I mean that's my duty as the representative. What is your name if I might ask?"
"Yeah it would be nice if you could show me around later, but my dog is gonna be left waiting for me then and I don't want to leave her at the gate.", Jungkook said worriedly.
"Your dog? What do you mean?", Namjoon asked.
"She came with me so I wouldn't get lost and when classes end she is going to be there waiting for me."
"You have a pretty smart dog then!"
"I don't know a dog smarter than her!", he insists.
"So maybe I could show you around at lunch then? That is if you would like to miss your first lunch break here, but the cafeteria food isn't the best anyway so."
Jungkook nodded, "Lunch is fine with me!"
After his chat with the older, class had started and no one else had talked to him until lunch break.
Jungkook began asking himself how he was going to remember everything from the tour Namjoon was going to give him.
It had already taken him quite the while to find his way to the classroom, so he was kind of worried.
But he reassured himself by thinking that Namjoon would be a good guide and not just that, he wanted the older to be his friend too.
At lunch, Jungkook and Namjoon met up in front of the cafeteria.
He had found his way there by asking a teacher, who allowed him to take the elevator downstairs so that he could avoid the stairs.
Because of this, he arrived exactly five minutes early and had to wait all by himself.
Jungkook didn't have to wait long when he was approached by his personal guide.
"Did you wait long?", Namjoon asked him.
"No I was here a bit early but it doesn't matter. Let's go!"
He was toured around the whole building and Namjoon also showed him the gymnasium and the swimming pool, when they were finished it was already late and they both had missed most of their classes.
"It's fine, I already told the principal that I would be touring you today. We shouldn't be in any trouble!", Namjoon reassured the younger.
The next day at lunch break Namjoon introduced Jungkook to his friends when he invited him to eat with them.
Namjoon had a relatively large group of friends, he thought, but Namjoon said there were even larger ones at the school.
In the group were five boys, not counting Namjoon.
Jungkook's first impression of them was very good, they were a typical friend group, some teased others and pulled jokes, but all in one they seemed like a family.
He wondered if they would maybe accept him in their little 'family' because they seemed so close and he was just the new student.
Jungkook tried to remember their names as soon as he was told them.
There was Taehyung, he had a really deep voice but acted like a child from another planet.
Jimin, he seemed shy with new people but also pretty caring and he was the shortest in the group and getting teased because of it.
Hoseok, a really cheerful guy who always made the others laugh, but also pretty silly.
Yoongi, a pretty quiet one, he sometimes seemed like a grumpy grandpa.
And Jin, he was like the mother of the group.
The role Namjoon seemed to have in the group was seemingly a smart but clumsy dad.
Jungkook didn't know if he would be easily included in the group, he was the youngest and they would want to know a lot about him before he was going to be a part of the family.
So the day he was introduced to them was pretty nerve-wracking.
Namjoon guided Jungkook to a table near the window, it was lunch break and they were in the cafeteria because he wanted to introduce Jungkook to his friends.
Jungkook was extremely nervous, so nervous that his hands were even shaking.
He felt like he had to make a great first impression and that was what pressured him.
Approaching the table, Jungkook was met with many curious stares, Namjoon showed him an empty chair to sit on and he did so awkwardly.
While he hadn't gotten to properly hold a conversation with the group of friends he listened to every detail they talked about and through that got to know what everyone was like.
A few months had gone by and Jungkook now felt like he had been fully accepted into the group of friends.
He was happy that he finally had friends whom he could count on, whom he could trust.
Jungkook was the maknae of their group, they all took good care of him and he was very grateful for that.
In a way he kind of depended on them and without them he wouldn't know how he would be able to handle everyday life happily.
But good things must come to an end, as they say.
They were sitting in class as the teacher announced a new transfer student, it happened to be a girl that had just come from Jungkook's old school.
Jungkook didn't come to hear her name because in his head he was freaking out. This worsened when the teacher announced that she would be sitting next to him and he had to raise his hand for her to see.
He could practically feel her smirk when she looked at him.
Jungkook's gut was telling him that something really bad was about to happen, and his gut feeling was always right.
When the girl sat down next to him he could hear her whisper: "Nice to see you again, Jungkook!", in a creepy tone.
The next few weeks were hell for him, Jungkook felt like the girl followed him everywhere, spied on him on every occasion, he was creeped out.
He wanted to confront her, wanted to tell her to stop following him and mind her own business, but in a way, he was scared of what she could do, what she knew.
The next Monday, something was different, at first, he didn't know what it was, but he came to the realization pretty fast.
His friends, his family wasn't there. They weren't at their usual table in the cafeteria, they weren't on the rooftop, a popular hangout place of theirs.
He couldn't find them.
The next day they were there again, but still, something was different.
They didn't talk to him, they didn't come near him, they were avoiding him.
He couldn't stop thinking about the girl, it was her fault for sure, if she hadn't been there, they would have still been a happy family.
This went on for the whole week, he was all alone, his only companion being Tam, whom he thought was the only one he could trust.
Jungkook rambled about everything to Tam, his friends, and the girl, he didn't dare to talk about it to his mom, she already had enough worries to deal with.
When nothing changed Jungkook became frustrated he wanted to confront Namjoon and the others about it, so he approached them in the cafeteria.
He started speaking as soon as he came near their table, not letting the others avoid him by leaving: "Why are you doing this? Why are you avoiding me? What did I do please tell me I want to fix whatever it is!"
One of them stood up, "How come you yourself don't know what you did? She told us everything, how you bullied, and hurt those people at your old school and that's why you had to transfer. I never would've thought you were that kind of person, I guess we didn't know you that well.."
Halfway through Namjoon's speech Jungkook started crying, he knew his gut feeling had been right, the girl had been bad news after all.
Still crying he ran out of the cafeteria, he had only one thing left in mind.
'If this life hates me so much, Dead doesn't sound that bad after all.'
That afternoon neither Jungkook nor Tam had come home.
And what nobody knew was, that Jungkook had been blind all along.
