"You know what Bose, this has been really fun," Mika admitted. Seriously, she couldn't remember a time where she enjoyed herself this much, Bose's company was a bonus. He felt the same way.

Bose nodded at her agreeing. He was really proud and surprised that he didn't manage to screw this up. This date had gone even better than he expected! He found himself staring at Mika's lips and wondered if he'd get the chance to kiss them tonight. He made eye contact with her and they both smiled. "Hopefully we have many more," He shyly added.

Mika's eyebrows shot up for a quick second, impressed at his smoothness. Was this his way of asking her out on another date?

They established that they liked each other as more than just friends, so did that exactly mean that after tonight they were officially boyfriend ad girlfriend, or was she reading too much into it? Whatever it was they would figure it out later and enjoy what was now.

Nothing could possibly ruin their evening.

Unfortunately for them, they turned around to see Ray yelling at the lady at the front podium, she was telling him that he couldn't come in without a reservation, Chapa with terrible make-up on, Miles looking like he had just lost a fight with a wild animal, and Schwoz waving at them.

"Oh no," Mika and Bose reacted in unison. Ray spotted them and that 'AH' look appeared on his face pointing right at them. "Well, well, well-" Ray started to make his way to them as they got up but before he could step foot any further the lady sprayed his eyes. Ray went ballistic trying to see, causing him to run right into Mika and Bose's table knocking everything over. Bose covered Mika so that food and drinks wouldn't get on her nice dress.

"Why does this always happen to him," Miles shook his head. Mika and Bose turned to Chapa and Miles, not too pleased. "You snitched?!" Bose snapped. "Does it look like it was willingly?" Chapa gestured to her and Miles's current state.

"Are you guys dating?" Schwoz happily asked Mika and Bose.

"They are not!" Ray raised up from off the broken table rubbing his eyes.

Mika sighed, "Look, Ray, we can explain,".

"it's not what it looks like...well it is but you have to understand-" Bose was cut off by an upset Ray, "I understand that you lied to me, betrayed my trust, and broke one of the most important rules of being a sup-"

"Student! of being a student," Miles loudly cover up the word superhero because the entire restaurant was now watching this chaos.

"We know!" Bose pleaded, "and we're sorry," Mika apologized. She moved closer to Bose taking his hand and holding onto his arm, "But I really like him" Mika confessed. "and i really like her," Bose squeezed her hand for reassurance.

"Awh," the restaurant simultaneously gushed. Ray ignored them and looked disappointed at the two teenagers. "You guys know what you signed up for," He reminded them, a lot calmer. Which made them somehow feel even worse.

"Dude, come on that was like 2 years ago, things change" Bose tried to reason with him. "Yeah well, rules don't!" he exclaimed. "What's the big deal?! We can still be sup-students...and be dating, it's not going to affect our work," Bose continued. Mika stayed quiet. "Being a super-student!- takes a lot of responsibility and time. You think you have it all figured out now but it gets complicated," Ray told him. He gets it, they can't control how they feel, but as long as their job is to protect this city they'll have way more on their plate than they can handle.

"I hate to say it, but Ray's vight," Schwoz joined in, "Now's not the time,".

Bose didn't want to hear it, no matter how much they claimed to understand, they just didn't. Meanwhile, in the background, Chapa and Miles were stuffing food into their pockets from waiters and near tables.

"Then when," Bose tiredly sighed. He feels like he waited long enough to finally call her his.

Mika stood by listening to them. They were superheroes but they were also kids, more importantly, they were superheroes. So with a heavy heart, she said,"Bose I think they're right,". Bose looked at her confused, she let go of his arm but still held his hand facing him. "What are you talking about?" he worried she might say what he really didn't want her to. Didn't she like him just as much as he likes her?

"Look, i wanna be with you, more than anything. However in the end it really comes down to me, you, and being superheroes," Mika started. Bose looked at her with sorrowful eyes, she was pulling on all his heartstrings, even though she was speaking as soft as ever. "We have to put others before us," she claimed. Bose cared about Swellview and saving lives but he never thought it would get in the way of how he and Mika felt about each other. Bose took a deep breath, not sure he could handle what more she had to say so he settled for, "Okay, i understand,".

Mike felt something wet fall on her the hand she was holding Bose with and reached up to wipe the tears she didn't know had even come out. This was such a stupid idea, Mika thought. Bose would have agreed, he could have saved them both the heartache if he hadn't asked her out in the first place.

"I'm sorry," Mika sniffled trying to keep herself together, kissing him on the cheek, and leaving Manetta's before she turned into a pumpkin. The room has been closing in on her and she would hate it if Bose saw what a mess she would become.

Miles saw and stuffed one last piece of bread into his shirt before chasing after her, as more food fell off him. Ray sympathetically looked at Bose who was looking at the floor Mika once stood. He gently placed his hand on Bose's shoulder saying "It was for the best,". Bose brushed him off without giving him a second to think before storming out of the restaurant.

Chapa watched as Bose left, she felt for both of them, and they deserved so much better than this. She seriously turned to Ray, still carrying plates of food. "When are you going to realize that we're not just mutants, we're teenagers," Chapa shrugged then walked away from him.

Ray sighed. He knew that. But with great power comes great responsibility; he read that off a fortune cookie.

Ray felt a comforting hand on his arm and it was the lady from the front desk. She softly smiled at him, then handed him a piece of paper, "Here's the bill,".

Ray facepalmed himself and thanked the gods it was the weekend. They had a lot to think about.
