A/N Hello again, some more fluff to brighten your day.
Harry walked through the deserted corridors of the Ministry, he'd been out most of the day and had only just arrived back. He had gone straight to his office and looked high and low for any sign that his lover had remembered Valentine's Day, but it seemed he was out of luck.
Knowing it was petty to be upset over something as trivial as a commercial holiday when his partner showed him just how cherished he was everyday, Harry still the twinge of disappointment at not having been lavished with gifts and attention.
Entering his lovers outer office, Harry noted the secretary had left for the evening, he knocked on the door and after hearing no answer pushed it open. It seemed the occupant had also left for the evening it seemed a pattern was forming. Resigning himself to an evening alone with many glasses of whiskey, Harry was about to leave when a sliver Lynx appeared in front of him.
'If you would make your way to the ballroom please Auror Potter' a deep baritone voice asked 'you are needed on a rather important matter'
Harry smiled as the creature disappeared and he walked from the office and further down the corridors. The ballroom was rarely used these days it had once served as a gathering for the yearly anniversary of the final battle, but after five years it had tapered off, the magical community preferring to get on with their lives.
Pushing the door open to the ballroom, Harry froze on the spot at the sight of his lover leaning against a conjured bar wearing a dark three piece suit, the Auror almost drooled. The room itself had been transformed into something from the 20s, an era Harry had become obsessed with.
'Evening handsome' the Minister for magic greeted Harry, walking towards him swaying his hips in that way that made Harry's blood run hot
'Hello' Harry said stiffly still put out he hadn't been given anything
'Something wrong?' Kingsley asked wrapping his arms around Harry
'No' Harry said flatly
'Did you think I'd forgotten Valentine's Day?' He asked with an amused look
'Was starting to yes' Harry answered more annoyed that he'd gotten something for Kingsley and had received nothing in return.
'Well my gorgeous man I am afraid you'd be mistaken' Kingsley rumbled 'there is nothing on this magical earth that would make me forget the most important person in my life on the most romantic day of year'
'Why are you dressed up then?' Harry asked
'I'm dressed up for you my love, all this is for you' Kingsley said waving his arm around the room
'Oh' Harry said feeling stupid and childish 'thank you'
'Don't thank me yet' Kingsley smirked and turned Harry around to face the small stage he hadn't noticed when he first came into the room
Five men came out from a side room and proceeded to set up various musical instruments. Harry's mouth gaped open as he realised who they were.
'Are- are they the Wicked Gatsby's?' He asked in stunned amazement
'They certainly are' Kingsley smiled his heart swelling at the look on his lovers face
'But how?' Harry breathed 'I thought they were playing in Germany?'
'They are playing in Germany, but I spoke to their manager and asked if they would take time out of their busy schedule to come and perform for someone very important'
'You did this for me?' Harry gasped
'I would do anything for you Harry' Kingsley whispered 'including bringing your favourite jazz band to play for you, seeing as you missed out on seeing them when they were in the UK, and being Minister for Magic didn't hurt either'
It was true Harry hadn't been able to make their concert as he had been away on a case, but for Kingsley to go to the effort to bring them here just for him and on Valentine's Day was the best feeling in the world, no one had ever done anything like that for him before.
'Thank you so much' Harry said a tear in his eye 'this is just wonderful'
As the band started to play, Kingsley pulled the Auror closer and they began to sway along with the music, Harry's heart was full to bursting, never had he felt so loved.
'Merlin I love you' Harry said with conviction as he held Kingsley tighter
'I love you' Kingsley said softly 'thank you for my present'
'Glad you like it' Harry answered although it rather paled in comparison compared to what Kingsley had organised for him.
