"Wait… The Captain seriously hired an ex army guy to be your new guard?" Addison heard her best friend, Naomi speak through the phone.

"I'm telling you, Nai. The man has lost his damn mind." Addison complained.

"What the hell did you do to the last guy, Addie?"

"Nothing! He just got sick of me, like all of them do." She sighed sadly.

"Well what's this new guy like?" Naomi asked.

Addison glanced out of her bedroom window, she could see Owen out by the pool, he was also on the phone.

"Hot. But he's quiet… and mysterious." Addison spoke as she watched him.

"Mysterious huh?"

"He's pretty rude too." She added

"Well it looks like you've met your match." Naomi laughed.

"I am not rude!"

"Okay Addie."

"Remind me why I'm your friend again?"

"Because you love me… listen Addie, I gotta get to class. I'll call you tomorrow."

"Ugh, you're so lucky you get to go to school." Addison huffed.

"Yeah you wouldn't say that if you saw my huge pile of assignments."

"Whatever. I'll talk to you later."

"Bye Addie."

Addison couldn't help but be jealous of Naomi, her best friend was studying medicine at Columbia University. She had so much freedom, whereas Addison's father wouldn't let her leave the house without a bodyguard by her side. Her father insisted she didn't need further education or a career and that she was set for life with her trust fund. But it wasn't about the money, she wanted to have her own life. A life where she wasn't being watched all the time. She gazed down at Owen, she did find him incredibly attractive. She studied him as he walked up and down the side of the pool, a handsome grin appearing on his face he continued his phone conversation. She wondered who he was talking to… A girlfriend? wife, maybe? Suddenly, he looked up from where he was standing near the pool. His blue eyes locked with hers for a split second before she quickly moved back.

"Shit." She cursed, embarrassed by being caught gawking at him.

Owen smirked and shook his head. What was she staring at?

"Yeah I'm still here Meg." He informed his sister.

"Good. So everything is okay with the job then?"

"Yeah it's fine."

"Just fine?" Owen's sister, Megan interrogated.

"It's good Megan, relax." He sighed.

"I just worry, Owen. You've been through a lot. You need to take it easy."

"I am. It's body guarding, pretty laidback. I'm just here in the unlikely event something should happen."

"What's she like? The girl you're guarding."

"She's okay, acts like a spoilt brat but I'm pretty sure it's just a front." Owen said.

"She sounds like a bitch."

"I don't think so, just gotta get her to open up a little." Owen chuckled.

"Yeah, yeah. You know best big brother, call me soon okay?"

"I will. Bye Meg." Owen smiled, as he slipped his phone back into his pocket.

"I'm hungry." Addison announced as she wandered out to the pool area.

"And what do you want me to do about that, Addison?" Owen asked, tilting his head.

"Take me to get food, duh."

"Last time I checked I was a bodyguard, not a servant."

"All my other bodyguards took me to get food." She rolled her eyes.

"Well I'm not like all your other bodyguards." He folded his arms.

"Well, I'm hungry so…" She sneered, brushing past him. Owen held onto her arm, gently pulling her back towards him.

"Let go of me." She demanded.

"No."

"Yes!" She tried to pull away, but he wouldn't release his grip.

"You work for me and i said let go."

"Actually I work for your father." He smirked.

"You're hurting me!" She lied.

"No I'm not."

"How would you know? You're not me!"

"Oh that's real mature." He teased.

"What do you want?" She sighed.

"I want you to ask me nicely."

"In your dreams." She tried to move, but was unsuccessful.

"Okay. We'll just stay like this all day." He smiled.

"What am I supposed to say?"

"How about, 'I'd appreciate it if you accompanied me to get some food.'"

"Seriously?" She groaned.

"Seriously."

"Fine. I'd appreciate it if you accompanied me to get some food. Happy?" Addison said, her voice oozing with sarcasm.

"Ecstatic." He said dryly, releasing her arm as he followed her back into the house.

It was later in the day and Addison was sunbathing by the pool with two friends she had invited over. Owen sat a few metres away, sipping on a water bottle.

"So, how's life as Addison's bodyguard treatin' ya?" Said a blonde woman with a prominent southern accent. Owen was pretty sure her name was Charlotte.

"Don't talk to him." Addison scolded.

"Why not? He's cute." The blonde winked.

Owen just shook his head and laughed.

"He's a little pale." Addison's brunette friend chimed in.

"Amelia! Filter." Charlotte scolded.

"Just saying, good thing we're out here in the sun. He could use it." Amelia shrugged.

"I can hear you, you know." Owen said

"Oh, no offence." Amelia said.

"None taken." He laughed.

"Ah, Owen. Just the man I wanted to see." Said The Captain as he joined everyone near the pool.

"How can I help, sir?" Owen said, standing up.

"Bizzy and I need to take a trip, problems with work." The Captain explained.

"Susan will still be around here and there, but Bizzy and I expect to be gone for about two weeks. Just wanted to let you know."

"Not a problem sir." Owen nodded.

"Wait you're leaving me alone with him for two weeks?" Addison gasped.

"Addison. Don't be rude, you'll be fine." The Captain said.

"I barely know him!"

"It will be fine. Your mother and I leave tonight." The Captain said before heading back into the house.

"Two weeks alone with the cute bodyguard. Nice one Montgomery." Charlotte grinned.

"Shut up, Charlotte." Addison rolled her eyes.

"Can't wait." Owen gave her a fake smile.

"And you can shut up too." She smirked.
