Owen rushed out to his car. He was filled with adrenaline, his heart was pounding. His body could barely keep up with his brain as he stumbled on the gravel outside. Finally, he made it to the car. His hands shook violently as he started the ignition. He had to find her.

"Where are you headed, Miss Montgomery?" The chauffeur asked Addison.

"Uh… that bar that I like. You know the one." Addison spoke softly, wiping tears from her eyes.

"Are you okay?" The chauffeur asked.

"I'll be fine." Addison faked a smile.

Her phone hadn't stopped going off, she looked at the screen. Ten missed calls. Owen.

"Screw you." She whispered to herself.

"Just answer the phone. Fuck!" Owen yelled as he smacked his hand against the steering wheel. He hadn't been able to keep up with the car Addison had been in and he was now driving around the streets aimlessly. She was ignoring his calls. It was late and he was going out of his mind. He didn't even want to think about what could happen to her if she was out alone. He pulled the car over, his heart was racing and he needed to breathe. This was all his fault, if he didn't lean in to kiss her in the first place none of this would have ever happened. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her feelings but he couldn't kiss her. As much as he wanted to The Captain would have his head. Literally.

Addison wandered into her favourite bar. Normally, it was much more lively and she was in better spirits. Tonight however, it was pretty quiet which seemed fitting as she felt awful. She wasn't used to rejection, she wanted to know why he had rejected her. They were obviously attracted to each other so him pulling away didn't make any sense and it made her feel worthless.

"Addison!" Her favourite bartender smiled when he saw her.

"Hi Jason." She sighed sadly, sitting at the bar.

"Why so sad?" He pouted.

"Promise not to judge?"

"Girly, when do I ever judge you?"

"I just got rejected." She sulked.

"Addison Forbes Montgomery rejected? I refuse to believe it." He shook his head.

"My bodyguard was about to kiss me bu-" Addison began but was cut off.

"Your bodyguard?!" Jason gasped.

"Hey! You said no judging." Addison frowned.

"Sorry, continue."

"He was about to kiss me but he pulled away and I kind of freaked out."

"Kind of?" Jason laughed.

"Okay, okay I went crazy." Addison admitted.

"Sounds about right." He smirked.

"You want a good tip tonight or not?"

"Alright, alright. What can I get you, Addie?"

"Something strong." She sighed.

Half an hour passed and Addison was twice as drunk as before.

"Get me another, Jason." She slurred, waving her debit card at him.

"You've had enough tonight."

"You're a shitty bartender." She complained.

"I think responsible is the word you're looking for."

"Whatever." She scoffed.

"You need to call him."

"Whyyy?" She whined.

"You know why." Jason folded his arms.

"Fine." Addison huffed, grabbing her phone out of her purse. She tried to focus on the screen but it was too blurry.

"You do it. I'm too drunk." She handed her phone to Jason.

Owen was still driving around, looking for Addison when his phone rang. He immediately grabbed it, his heart speeding up rapidly when he saw the caller ID. Addison.

"Where are you? Are you okay?" Owen demanded.

"Addison's fine." A man's voice came from the phone. Owen's heart sank and anger began to rise in his chest.

"Who is this?" Owen spat.

"Relax man, I'm a bartender and friend of Addie's. She's pretty wasted." He said.

"What's the address?" Owen said, tapping on his phone as Jason told him where to go.

"I'll be five minutes." Owen said as he threw his phone onto the passenger seat and stepped on the gas.

Owen stepped into the quiet bar and looked around, relief washed over him as he saw a very drunk Addison at the bar.

"Time to go." He said, walking up to her.

"What are you doing here?" Addison frowned.

"You told me to call him." Jason rolled his eyes.

"Oh… right." Addison sighed.

"Come on we're leaving." Owen said, grabbing her purse.

"Says who?" Addison slurred.

"Says me."

"You're not the boss of me." Addison glared.

"Real mature." He sighed.

"I'm not going anywhere with you." She said.

"Okay." He smiled.

In one swift movement, Owen had picked Addison up and thrown her over his shoulder. Fireman style.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Addison screeched, kicking her legs.

"Taking you home." Owen said.

"Owen! Put me down now!" She demanded.

"Thanks Jason." Owen said as he turned around with Addison, who was still kicking and screaming. Jason just chuckled and shook his head as he watched the two of them leave.

"I hate you." Addison sulked from the passenger seat of Owen's car.

"Yeah I hate you too but I still have to keep you safe." Owen shrugged.

"Whatever." She folded her arms and turned to look out of her window.

"Are we gonna talk about this?" Owen asked, turning the steering wheel.

"About what? You making me feel like an idiot?" She snapped.

"Addison. I didn't mean to upset you."

"Yeah well, you did." She said, drunkenly.

"I'm sorry."

"Just forget it, Owen." She sighed.

For the life of him, Owen could not fall asleep. He had tossed and turned and rearranged his pillows a hundred times. He couldn't get comfortable and his brain wouldn't shut off. He felt awful for upsetting Addison. He sighed as he dragged himself out of bed, he figured a glass of scotch would help him sleep. The house was silent, but as Owen made his way down the hall he could hear faint noises coming from Addison's room. As he got closer to the door he realised the noises were quiet sobs. He felt a pang of guilt in his chest.

"Addison?" He said softly.

No answer.

"Addison?" He tried again.

Still no answer.

After a few seconds of silently debating it with himself, he decided to go in. He opened the door gently, not wanting to alarm her. She was laid on the side of her bed, facing away from him but he could hear her sniffling.

"Addison?" He murmured.

"Go away." She whispered.

He walked over to her, sitting at the bottom of the bed.

"I said go away." She sniffed as she wiped her eyes.

"I can't." He said softly.

"Why?"

"I'm not leaving you alone when you're upset."

Addison didn't protest. The two of them sat in silence for a few minutes until Addison sat up, still not facing him.

"You made me feel worthless." She finally spoke.

He felt another pang of guilt hit him in the chest.

"Addison. Look at me." He said.

"No." She whispered.

He reached out and touched the side of her face, turning her head to face him.

"You are not worthless." He said softly.

He looked into her hurt blue eyes, they were slightly puffy from the tears. Closing the space between them, his lips brushed delicately against hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck as the kiss deepened.

"I'm sorry." He said pulling away.

He put his arm around her, bringing her closer to him as she rested her head on his shoulder.

"Don't leave me alone tonight." She whispered.

"I won't." He promised.
