Deep in the oceans of Alagaësia, between the Sharktooth Island and the unknown seas beyond, there is a small chain of volcanoes that power the chasms under the earth of the burning plains. They spew eternal energy, the lifeblood of the world, and in turn, they hold the power source of every living creature on Alagaësia- magic.
In between these volcanoes, there is a sphere of sorts. It grows and shrinks with the tides, the flow of power from deep within the planet's heart powering the shield, giving it the ability to stay up with runes carved into the very rock by an ancient people long since passed into the void…
Deep in the center of the bubble of magic, a temple stood, ancient, but still as strong as the day it was finished. A small figure sat at the top steps of the entrance, looking out at the black ocean depths before him. Three leviathan-class Nïdhwal circled the bubble, kin of an old comrade who had passed not too long ago, Manda… his final gift to his King, the Nïdhwal became His eternal guardians, silent ocean companions to the apex predator that lived here. This being shifted, tilting his head up towards the surface, and exhaled steadily, puffing out a small tongue of blue fire from his mouth as he thought of the courses pf action he could take. He was old, older than the dragons and Elves, but he was still young by his specie's standards. If he had to compare it to anything, his age would be where a human's peak would be, around their mid-twenties to late thirties.
However, in his long watch over this world, alongside his kin who had risen and fallen as time passed, he noted that the balance was shifting. A large source of magic overhead had disappeared in the span of a century and a half, King and God the Apex predators, one who existed even before the dragons flew the skies and the Elves first landed in this continent, his domain. The one that legends and myths whisper of in backgrounds of tales. With his roar, he can make mountains crumble to dust, with his blue fire, he can burn an entire city to ash. With his claws and tail, even Beglabad submitted to his reign in the wild before they became comrades.
He is the King.
He rules all.
He keeps a balance that has now been uprooted, and He is rising once again.
Breathing in, the figure stands, humanoid save for a tail that swings behind him and three rows of dorsal spines that pulse a brilliant blue on his back. He wears only a pair of trousers, modified for the tail that slams into the ground behind him. His spines pulse faster before a blue mist of magic explodes around him, and his form glows bright, growing bigger and bigger.
A massive maw drops open, teeth glistening in the lavalight, before he unleashes a warning into the bubble he calls home, signaling his impending rise to the surface.
Soon his name will be remembered, and the one who upset this balance will tremble as the echoes of time chant his name.
The name…
Godzilla.
SKKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNKKKKK!
Yes, yes…another story when I havent even gotten the second chapter out for my newest one…. T-T BUT in my defense, I've been really getting into Godzilla fanfics as of late. This one, as you might have figured out, is an Inheritance Cycle/Godzilla 2019 crossover. The idea hit me when I was eating a sandwich and watching memes on youtube. This is SaphiraxOC, and my OC is Godzilla, but he's also having to take a new name to acclimate to the surface in his human form, so his name will be the original pronunciation for it, Gojira. It hit me that, in a way, Godzilla could just be a massive wingless variant of the traditional western dragons… but he's much more intune to the flow of his magic than the dragons are. Ideally, I want him to stay his normal Titan self, but in Alagaësia, it wouldn't do to have all the Titans enter the war… I might add King Ghidora as the again ultimate foe to Gojira, but for now, he's a human-titan hybrid (sort of) who has taken the form to seek out the one responsible for upsetting the balance.
As for where the other titans are or if they had died or not… well, you'll see as the story progresses~!
As my good friend Serizawa once said- "Nature has a way to restore order. Let them fight."
