Chapter 1

Beca and Chloe were spending another evening at home watching TV. The two have fallen into a comfortable routine after living together for three years. Beca has been working with many different artists trying to build up their career. Coming home to Chloe and telling her all about who she's been working with, and how crazy some of these people can be has made the job a lot less stressful. Chloe is about to finish vet school, and her job working with animals has been very rewarding. Being able to help someone's pet feel better and getting to see a family welcome a new furry addition to their home has been the main reason Chloe wanted to get into this line of work. It made moving on from the Bellas easier to do, even though the girls are all still good friends who are all still in her life. Among the many decisions Beca and Chloe have considered in their new home, the two broke down and decided to sign up for Paramount Plus. So far It's been fun flipping through to see all there is to watch.

"I can't believe so many old shows are being rebooted. It makes me feel old," Beca said.

"I know. I just hope they don't mess them up. I remember how much I loved iCarly when the original first came out," Chloe said.

"Yeah, I watched it a little bit. It'll be interesting to see what they did with the new one."

Soon there was a knock at the door and Beca went to answer it.

"Hey Aubrey."

"Hey Beca."

"Hey, come on in and come watch the new iCarly, and feel old with us," Beca jokes.

Aubrey joined her friends on the couch, while Chloe came back with more popcorn. Aubrey has recently returned from Mykonos after her doula training. She's spent most of the summer there learning all about coaching the mother through her birth, and advocating for the couple and their new baby. Aubrey has also had some on the job training, working her last few weeks in a doctor's office while over there, and getting to shadow the obstetrician and the working doula. The entire experience has been rewarding for Aubrey, and she can't wait to work full time in the states while experiencing this job on her own.

"So how have things been with work since coming back from Greece?" Chloe asked Aubrey.

"Really great, actually. I got to learn a lot, and the people I worked with were very helpful. "

"Are you excited to start working here?" Beca asked her.

"Yeah...I mean, I guess so. Having a baby is such a big part of someone's life. I just hope I can really do this, and leave these new mothers with positive experiences, " Aubrey explained.

"Well if I know you well enough, Aubrey, I know that you have studied and studied for this profession, and you're one of the most dedicated people I know. I have faith in you," Chloe said, and Beca agreed.

"Yeah, we both do."

"Thank you," Aubrey nodded.

All of this has been a lot for Aubrey to think about. It was nice that her friends had faith in her, but it was important to Aubrey that she had a successful career doing something she chose for herself. So much time has been spent pleasing other people, and she couldn't fail at her first shot at a stable career. This wasn't college anymore, and it would be a lot harder for her to start over. She wanted to be a strong advocate for future moms, and make sure their birth stories were ones they'd be happy to share for years to come.

Later in the week, Aubrey and Chloe are sitting down having coffee, while Chloe discusses her relationship. Chloe and Beca have been living together awhile by this point, and Chloe has enjoyed every minute of it. They are in love and everything has been going great. It took a lot of courage for these girls to express their feelings for one another. Neither wanted to lose the friendship they had, but their true feelings couldn't be hidden any longer, and it's been the best decision for both of them.

"So, it sounds like things are going really great with Beca," Aubrey said.

"Yeah, I couldn't be happier right now. I think living together has been the right thing for us. I can't believe it's been three years already. I can't imagine living without her now," Chloe told her.

"Yeah? Have you two discussed the future...where things will go from here?" Aubrey asked.

"Well...yeah, I have; a lot," Chloe said.

"And?"

"I really think I'm ready to be married to Beca," Chloe said.

"Wow, that's amazing. Have you thought about what you want to say?" Aubrey asked.

"I've gone back and forth with so many things I want to say, and how to bring it up so many times. There's just one problem, though," Chloe said.

"What's that?" Aubrey asked.

"What if she says 'no'? I'm afraid it'll make things worse, and ruin the great thing we have," Chloe worried.

"What makes you think she'll say 'no'? She loves you."

"I don't know...I'm just afraid she will," Chloe said.

"Well, you won't know until you try." Aubrey said.

"I know. I just love her so much, and I don't want to lose her," Chloe worried.

"Listen to me...if you really love her, then go get her," Aubrey said, firmly.

"Okay...I'll do it," Chloe said, still slightly nervous.

"You can do this, Chloe," Aubrey told her.

While the ladies decided to spend the day at a public pool, Beca, Chloe, and Sarah were there to enjoy a relaxing day of swimming. All three of them had today off, and they wanted to take advantage of getting to spend this time together while they weren't busy. Since graduating college, this group of friends have found it harder to get together as much as they would like to. Many of the girls were starting careers, along with some of them starting families. Even though many of these life changes were exciting, the Bellas still wanted to hold on to the friendship they have, and maintain contact as best they can. This was the best chance to relax and have fun together.

"This was definitely a good idea for today," Sarah said.

"Yeah, it's been so hot lately, and we've been dying to get down here," Beca said.

"I've been looking forward to a break myself. The day off has been hard to come by," Sarah said.

"Cannonball!" Chloe yelled as she jumped into the pool, splashing Beca and Sarah.

"Chloe!" Beca and Sarah called out.

"I'm sorry, I just really got excited," Chloe said.

"It's okay you goofball, just warn us before you do that next time," Beca chuckled.

"Well, Come on in, ladies. The water's fine," Chloe said, as the two eventually stepped in.

Chloe thought about proposing immediately after her conversation with Aubrey, but nerves got the better of her. Since she didn't know what she'd say yet or how things would go, she wanted to avoid anything awkward and have a good time.

By Friday night after Chloe returned home from work, she came in, set her keys down in the kitchen, and just stared at Beca while sat on the couch watching TV. She only had one shot at this, and she didn't want to mess this up. Chloe's breath hitched and her mind went blank as she stood there in silence. She's spent the past week racking her brain for so long for the right thing to say, Chloe decided to take a deep breath and just do it. She made her way into the living room, standing in front of Beca.

"Hey, everything okay?"

"Beca, there's something very important I need to ask you," Chloe started.

"What is it?" Beca asked.

The heat began to rise up in Chloe as she fidgeted back and forth. She could feel Beca staring at her with inquiry, but she couldn't get her words together.

"Things have been going really well for us lately, right? I mean...I think so."

"Yeah, they've been going great," Beca said.

"Well, a lot has changed for us...definitely for the better and I think we're moving along really well. I know I'm happy with my job and you are with yours...and I've been the most happy with you. I love you, Beca."

"I love you too, Chloe," Beca smiled, still a little confused.

"I think the time is right."

Chloe reached into her pocket and pulled out an engagement ring before getting down on one knee.

"Beca Mitchell...will you marry me?" Chloe asked.

"Oh wow...Chloe I...YES, YES I WILL!

Chloe was elated and relieved while the two swept each other up in an embrace. This was the beginning of the rest of their lives and they couldn't wait for what else was in store.

"I can't wait to tell everybody!" Beca said, excited.

The two decided to start with calling Aubrey. It was a little after 9:30pm when Aubrey's phone rang, but she was still awake, and soon answering.

"Hello, Chloe?"

"Aubrey, guess what; BECA SAID YES!" Chloe said, excited.

"Wow, congratulations! See, now what did I tell you?" Aubrey asked.

"Thank you so much for all your encouragement, Aubrey."

"You're very welcome, I'm so happy for you two."

Chloe was so happy that Beca said "Yes." After many more hugs and kisses between them, they continued to make phone calls.

Meanwhile, back at Sarah's apartment, she was playing on her PS5 when the phone rang.

"It's Beca, you want me to get that?" Matt asked.

"Yeah, please."

Matt answers, putting the phone on speaker.

"Hey Becs," Sarah calls out.

"Hey, what are you guys up to?" Beca asked.

"Sarah's about to accomplish her greatest feat yet. Reaching level eight on our new Spider-Man game," Matt jokes, while Sarah chuckles, swatting his arm.

"So what's up, Beca?"

"Well, Chloe and I have some exciting news for you," Beca said.

"What is it?" Sarah asked.

"Chloe and I are engaged!" Beca announced.

"Oh my god. Beca, I'm so happy for you. Give us a few minutes, and then we're coming over!" Sarah promised.

"Great. We'd love to have you over. See you in a bit," Beca said, hanging up.
