Chapter 4

Morning came and Dean rolled over and stretched, hitting his arms on the wall behind his bed. He grumbled and looked to the other bed to see Sam curled under a blanket still snoozing away. He sat on the side of his bed to finish waking up.

"Hey, wake up," Dean called to his brother but didn't get a response. He stood and slapped Sam's leg, well, his leg to wake him. "Wake up. We need to go into town and restock the kitchen for Bobby."

"Wha…" Sam slurred, jerking awake and partly sitting up. He glared at his brother who seemed to be looming over him and pushed away from his hulking form.

"I'm getting a shower first since you take so long with one. Maybe you can speed it up since you don't have much to wash."

"There's shampoo and conditioner in the shower you need to use on my hair…" Sam started to explain to Dean who looked at him like he had grown two heads.

"Get real," he scoffed.

"It needs to be washed twice," Sam called to Dean as he grabbed his bag and headed for the bathroom ignoring him.

"Please don't let him cut my hair," Sam whispered looking concerned toward the closed bathroom door. He plopped back on his pillow and listened trying to hear Dean in the bathroom.

Dean turned the water on and looked at his reflection in the mirror, still not used to seeing his brother's face. He squinted his face and frowned, trying to see what his different faces looked like if he used his expressions. His death glare didn't have the same affect when he tried it and his women swooning smile and mischief, sexy smirk just didn't do it for him. Dean sighed and turned to the shower to adjust the water before shedding his briefs and T-shirt so he could step under the hot spray.

Dean frowned when he realized the shower head to was too low for him to wet all of Sam's hair unless he squatted so it could wet the top of his head. He pushed the hair from his face and looked for his shampoo to use. Dean washed Sam's hair and almost knelt in the tub to be sure he got all the suds out of the hair. After washing Sam's body and rinsing, he turned the water off and grabbed a towel to dry. He had to pay extra attention to the hair since it was dripping water onto his shoulders and down his back. He grabbed another towel and went to work getting as much water out of it as he could. Dean looked at the hair products sitting on the counter and grabbed the gel to use. He thought he could run some gel through the damp hair and keep it out of his face when it dried.

Dean grabbed his bag and sat it on the commode and pulled clothes from the bag only to see they were actually his clothes, and they wouldn't fit Sam's body. He huffed his disgust and grabbed a towel to wrap around his waist and picked up his bag before heading back into the bedroom.

"Bathroom's yours," he grunted tossing his bag on Sam's legs. Dean grabbed Sam's bag and started rummaging through it to find some clothes.

"What did you do to my hair?" Sam cried out when he saw it flattened down to his head.

"You're lucky I didn't cut it," Dean growled at him. "Get your shower so we can head into town. And just because you have the sexy body now, I don't want you playing around with anything," Dean insisted.

"Screw you," Sam spat back at him grabbing the bag off his bed and stomping to the bathroom. He slammed the door harder than needed but didn't care. He dropped Dean's bag on the floor and turned to the mirror and looked at his brother's angry face staring back at him. Sam tilted his head back and forth and rubbed a hand over his face deciding he could wait to shave, thinking it did give his face a rugged look.

After pulling his T-shirt over his head, Sam twisted and studied his brother's body noticing some new scars that he had not seen before and wondered how he got them. He flexed his arms and drew in a deep breath surprised at the muscles Dean had. It was funny he had never paid any attention before.

Sam turned on the water to heat and slipped his sleep pants and briefs off, ignoring Dean's privates. He stepped under the shower and smiled when he didn't have to lean over or stoop down to wash his hair. The hot water felt good on his tight shoulders and grimaced when he moved his left shoulder and pain shot down his arm and up his neck. He figured Dean had gotten hurt when they were tossed around by the spell. He carefully rotated his arm to try and ease the pain and flexed his hand several times.

After squirting half the amount of shampoo that he usually used, Sam washed Dean's hair and didn't think he needed to use any conditioner with the short hair. He washed his body and used a washcloth to quickly run it over Dean's privates, thinking that was good before rinsing well. He turned the water off and grabbed a towel to dry with thinking how easy it was to do Dean's hair.

Dean finished dressing and headed downstairs to see if there was still coffee and if not, he would start a new pot. He opened the cabinet and almost smacked himself in the face with the door while getting a cup. He found half a pot and poured a cup before wandering toward Bobby's office to find him sitting at his desk with books opened around him.

"Hey Bobby," Dean greeted him as he took a seat.

"S…Dean," Bobby started and paused when he looked up at him, arching an eyebrow when he saw his new hair style. "Where's your brother?"

"Shower. We're going to do some shopping since it looks like we may be stuck this way longer than I want."

"Yeah, about that, I'm running into dead ends with this language."

"Great!" Dean grumbled with snort. "Anything I can do to help?"

"No, I'm going to get some help from an old friend and hope she knows it. If anyone can help us with this, I think Missouri will be able to. She has many contacts to refer to and get help."

"I hope so, I don't really want to spend the rest of my life in the wrong body. It's not as fun as I thought to be tall after all."

"I'm not giving up son. We'll find a way to swap you guys back."

"I know Bobby, I have faith in you. I'm going to go see what's taking my brother so long," Dean grunted getting back up. "I told him not to be playing with himself just because he's in my manly body."

"You do that boy," Bobby huffed, shaking his head at the older Winchester as he dodged the door jam on his way out. He couldn't help but chuckle at his antics.

Dean pounded on the door of the bathroom before yelling at his brother.

"What's the hold up in there? You have less to wash and shampoo, you should be ready!"

"Ten minutes!" Sam yelled back in an annoyed voice. He had just finished drying and was hunting clean clothes from Dean's bag. He definitely needed to do laundry when they got back from town, so he'd have clothes to wear.

"Well, hustle it up. I'll be waiting downstairs." Dean turned and stopped by the bedroom to grab his wallet and car keys before strolling downstairs to wait on his brother. He ran his fingers through his stiff hair and patted it down deciding gel was not the way to go after all. He stepped into the half bath below Bobby's bedroom and found a comb to run through Sam's hair so it wouldn't look so stiff. He frowned as the hair fluffed out almost doubling in amount which he didn't want but was stuck with it. Maybe he'd used Sam's shampoo and conditioner next time.

"I'm here," Sam rushed as he hurried down the stairs toward Dean.

"I figured we could grab some breakfast in town and then get the shopping done."

"Sounds fine to me."

They headed out the front door and piled into the Impala. Dean cranked his Baby and let her roar to life and idle for a few minutes before backing up and heading for the main road that ran in front of the salvage yard. The drive to town didn't take long and Dean pulled into the parking lot of the diner and found parking off to the side away from the other vehicles. They got out and started walking toward the front door when a voice called out.

"Winchesters!" a female voice called stopping them before they got to the doors.

Dean and Sam turned to see a friend, Sheriff Jody Mills, walking toward them.

"Hi guys, haven't seen you in a while," Jody greeted them.

"Hey Jody," Dean greeted her first giving her a quick hug. "Yeah, we just finished a case and decided to visit Bobby to recoup and wind down."

"Jody," Sam greeted her with a brief hug.

"Looks like you're having a bad hair day Sam," said Jody eyeing his slightly wild hair.

"He used the wrong shampoo," Sam grunted and realized what he said.

"It's what you get sometimes if you have long hair," Dean tried to cover giving Sam a shut-up look before he said anything else that might give them away.

"Is Bobby keeping you guys busy while you're here? If you have time, maybe we can grab lunch."

Dean punched Sam with his elbow for him to answer her.

"Yeah, I'm working in the garage doing garage things," Sam stumbled trying to sound like Dean.

"I had some research crap to do, you know, looking for another case. You know how I like that stuff," Dean said knowing they needed to get away from her before she got suspicious. "Good to see you Jody, but we better go, after breakfast, we're doing some shopping for Bobby since he has two more mouths to feed."

"Sure, okay," said Jody in an uncertain voice. "Let me know about lunch."

"We will Jody, bye," Sam told her as they stepped away.

Jody stood there a moment as she caught snatches of the brother's conversation.

"You sounded nothing like me," Dean fussed at Sam.

"Right back at you," Sam hissed. "Think she's suspicious?"

"I don't know," Dean replied as they both glanced back at Jody and gave her an uneasy smile and wave before stepping into the diner. "Get inside before she comes back."

Jody wasn't sure what was going with the brothers, but they were not acting like themselves at all. She wondered if she should call Bobby to find out what was going on and if there was anything she could do to help. At least they didn't look injured this time, not like other times they came back from hunts. Jody walked away toward the sheriff's office, as she mulled over her concerns.
