Chapter 3
While Chloe waits outside her apartment for Aubrey, she sees an unfamiliar car pull up. The fancy car stops in front of her, with a shell door opening, and to her surprise she sees Aubrey step out from the driver's seat. Chloe's eyes widened in amazement.
"Whoa! I don't remember you getting a new car," Chloe said, stepping closer.
"Yeah well, sadly it's not actually mine. My boss was kind enough to let me borrow his 2018 Tesla. I thought for this special occasion, we could ride in style tonight," Aubrey explained.
"Well, that was nice of him," Chloe said, as both girls hopped in.
"Cynthia- Rose and Stacie are gonna meet us at the restaurant." Aubrey said, as she started the car.
"Okay, well I'm ready," Chloe said, and they headed out.
Before the Bachelorette Party, while Aubrey and Chloe went to their party, Beca rode with Sarah to Emily's friend's house to pick them up for the evening. They walked in and Emily greeted them.
"Okay great, you made it. The guest of honor is here!" Emily called out, while they all walk through the living room.
"So what do we have planned for the evening?" Beca asked.
"Well you'll have to wait and see, but since you're here, there's some people I want you to meet," Emily said.
As they were approaching the kitchen, the girls noticed two people they've never met before sitting at the kitchen island.
"This is my best friend from high school, Garrett and his wife, Shannon."
"Nice to meet you both," Beca said, shaking hands.
Shannon immediately accepted it, but Garrett was shifty looking from Beca to his wife.
"You don't want to shake hands?" Shannon asked, and Garrett shook his head 'no'.
"Oh see, he gets nervous has autism, so he struggles with some social situations." Emily said.
"Oh, I'm sorry," Beca said.
"It's okay, I'm able to manage most of the time, but sometimes talking is hard," Garrett explained.
"No problem, we understand," Sarah told him.
"Hey Garrett, do you and Shannon have Netflix?" Emily asked.
"Oh, of course. We watch it all the time. Why?" Garrett asked.
"Well, I came across this original show called 'Atypical' a few weeks ago and it made me think of you," Emily explained.
"We love that show. We've watched every episode of every existing season so far," Shannon chimed in.
After Beca and Sarah had a moment to get acquainted with Emily's friends, the ladies were ready to head out to the bar.
Meanwhile, Aubrey and Chloe walked into the restaurant to see Cynthia-Rose and Stacie with a table already saved. Chloe approached the table with the ladies excitedly waving at her, while placing a 'Bride' sash over her shoulders.
"Hey," Both ladies call out to her.
Everyone sits at the table as they prepare to order drinks. The bride of the evening got her first drink free, and the girls were ready to let loose and have fun tonight. The music was going and soon they were bringing Chloe out to the middle of the floor. Chloe was having a good time forgetting how nervous she was, and spent the evening dancing and having drinks with her friends. After they were tired from dancing, the group made their way back to the table where they shared a plate of nachos. Chloe is a little tipsy and mostly in good spirits. Aubrey nudges Chloe seeing the smile on her face.
"You look really happy," Aubrey said.
"I am. I can't wait to be married to Beca. I miss her already, and it's only been a few hours," Chloe told her.
"Hang in there. It won't be long now," Aubrey said.
The group continued to party the night away. It was good to celebrate moments like this with their friends. The Bellas have continued to stay close since graduating from college, and they hoped to always celebrate big moments in their lives for years to come.
After Beca's group returned home, and now that they've had a moment to have snacks and mingle, all of the guests went into the living room for a game of Truth or Dare.
"Emily, truth or dare?" Beca asked.
"Truth,"
"Hmm...what color is your underwear?" Beca asked.
"I have pink on today," Emily responded. "Come on now, that was an easy one. How about something more challenging?"
"Okay, well it's your turn to ask anyway," Beca said.
"Let's see...Shannon, truth or dare?" Emily asked.
"Truth."
"What's been the most interesting part of your relationship?"
"Interesting...huh let's see..? Probably had to do with figuring out when Garrett and I were ready for intimacy," Shannon explained.
"How so?" Emily asked.
"Well, it started when we were first spending the night together in our apartment. It was soon after we had been dating about six months," Shannon said.
Shannon was climbing into bed with Garrett when she noticed something under the covers.
"Hey Garrett… Oh..." Shannon said.
"Is something wrong?" Garrett asked.
"Oh, I just noticed you're not wearing pants?" Shannon asked.
"Yeah...is that a problem? If it is, I can..." Garrett said, before being interrupted.
"No no no, I just didn't know we were there yet," Shannon said.
"So, It's okay?" Garrett asked.
"Yeah, definitely." Shannon said "In that case, do you mind if I sleep in my underwear too?" Shannon asked.
"Go for it," Garrett said.
With that, Shannon climbed out of bed and got comfortable, while rejoining Garrett in their bed.
"That's really cute. I'm glad you had a nice story to tell," Emily said.
"Yeah, It's been great. Garrett and I are really happy."
The evening has been going well so far, and Beca is having a good time with her friends, while getting to know someone new. She couldn't wait until she was walking down the aisle to marry the love of her life.
On the night before their wedding, Beca was out with Sarah while Chloe was out with Aubrey.
"So this is the last stop?" Aubrey asked.
"Yeah, these should be the last preparations before the wedding," Chloe said.
Chloe and Aubrey arrived at the flower shop before it closed to pick up the remainder of the flowers for the wedding reception. As the flowers were being loaded into Aubrey's car, they noticed a distressed woman sitting on a bench outside. She was very pregnant and breathing heavily while trying to get through to someone on her cell phone. Aubrey and Chloe walked up to her, in an attempt to offer their assistance.
"Excuse me, Ma'am do you need help?" Aubrey asked her.
"Yes, please. I can't get a hold of my husband," the pregnant woman said.
"Okay, what's your name?" Aubrey asked, sitting next to her.
"Melissa."
"Okay Melissa, we'll see if we can get ahold of your husband. Can you tell me how far apart your contractions are?"
"They're ten minutes apart," Melissa told Aubrey.
"Okay, just breathe with me, and we'll keep trying to call your husband. It'll be okay," Aubrey said.
Aubrey handed Chloe Melissa's phone to call the woman's husband while Aubrey sat holding her hand, and kept encouraging her to breathe. Melissa does as she is told while rubbing her belly, but she is still scared. She hoped she wouldn't have to have her baby in the street, and Aubrey hoped so too. Chloe was still having no luck, so they took Melissa in the car, and she had Chloe try her husband's work number while they rode to the hospital. Aubrey sat next to Melissa the whole way, keeping track of her contractions and counting with her while encouraging her at the same time. Soon from Melissa's phone they hear a male voice say 'Hello?', and Aubrey takes the phone.
"Sir, this is Aubrey Posen. Your wife is going into labor, and we are on our way to the hospital."
"How is she? Is she okay?"
"Brian? I'm right here," Melissa said.
"Baby, are you okay?" Brian asked.
"I'm okay."
"Okay, just keep breathing, Honey. I'm leaving now, I'll meet you there."
"Okay," Melissa said.
Soon the ladies were pulling up to the hospital, and Chloe pulled up to the emergency doors. Aubrey helped Melissa out of the car, and Brian was there immediately to help her inside. Once there Melissa was relieved, and could now be a little more excited.
"I was hoping you'd be here," Melissa said.
"I just got here a little while ago."
The nurse came up with a wheelchair, and the two of them were being taken to the delivery room.
"Thank you ladies. You've really been a big help," Melissa said, looking back at Aubrey.
"You're very welcome. Good luck to you both."
"Thanks again," Melissa said.
"Yes, Thank you," Brian added.
The couple went off and were about to be parents. Aubrey breathed a sigh of relief, and was happy everything went well getting her here. Chloe pat Aubrey on the shoulder.
"You did great tonight," Chloe told her.
Aubrey nodded. She was admittedly impressed with how well she was able to handle the situation. It made her feel more confident that she could really do this job, and looked forward to helping more people on one of the most important days of their lives. Taking a breath, Chloe and Aubrey left the hospital and took the flowers home for the big day.
