Chapter 4

Now on the morning of August 21st, the beach was already decorated for Beca and Chloe's wedding. Each of the two brides waited in their own tents, while waiting for it to be time to walk down the aisle. As the "Wedding March" played, both brides came out of their tents and walked down the aisle, where the officiant was waiting for them.

"At this time, our two brides have prepared their own vows," the officiant said, and Beca opted to go first.

"Chloe Beale, for a long time I felt isolated from other girls, and pretty much everyone around me. I've had good friends, but hoped that I could someday find a person to love who loved all of me. You made it possible for me to believe that there are people that can show the selflessness and generosity that you've shown me. I promise that I will let you know everyday that I love you with everything I have, and never let you forget how special you are," Beca said, while Chloe smiled back at her.

"I don't know how I can top that, but here goes...Beca Mitchell, you have the kindest heart of anyone I know, even if you don't always realise it. You've always made me feel happy, and like I was important to someone. I love how we always look forward to seeing each other when we're apart, and that I have someone special to look forward to spending my time with. I promise to let you know how thankful I am to you for making my life better, and to always show you the love you deserve," Chloe said, smiling.

"Do you Beca Mitchell, take Chloe Beale to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do," Beca said.

"And do you Chloe Beale, take Beca Mitchell to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do," Chloe said.

"By the power vested in me, by the state of New York, I now pronounce you two married," the officiant said, as the two brides shared their first kiss as a married couple.

A little while later all of the guests made their way inside for the reception. Each table held a beautiful centerpiece made with seashells and candles. While most of the guests were enjoying hors d'oeuvres and champagne, Sarah gathered up the other Bellas and they went together to congratulate the new couple.

"Look at you!" Sarah exclaimed. "You both make beautiful brides!"

"We're so excited for you," Aubrey chimed in. "How does it feel to be married?"

"It still feels unreal that we're here married right now. All I can say is that I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," Chloe said.

"Yeah, at this point all of the wedding planning felt like it would take forever. Now we're here and I can't believe it went by so fast," Beca said.

"Everything looks beautiful, and your parents looked really happy seeing the two of you up there." Aubrey said, and the ladies nodded. "Now it's time to relax and have fun at your reception."

They were certainly ready for that as Beca and Chloe started to make their way inside.

"By the way Chloe, that lady Melissa from last night, I heard back from her and her husband this morning." Aubrey said, showing Chloe the picture of their new baby along with the message. "They said, 'Thank you, Ms. Posen for helping make sure we got to the hospital in time. We gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Evelyn.'"

"Wow, that's so great. She's a beautiful little girl. I'm so glad we were able to help," Chloe said.

"So, do you ladies have a honeymoon spot yet?" Sarah asked.

"Yeah, we're staying at a great place in the Bahamas. It was a wedding gift from Dad and Sheila," Beca said.

"Very nice. I hope you two have fun," Sarah told them.

As they made their way around to all the guests, Beca saw her father along with Sheila and the kids. The two of them greeted Beca with hugs and kisses.

"The ceremony was beautiful. You two look amazing," Sheila told her.

"Thanks, Sheila."

"And you were a very good flower girl," Beca said to her little sister.

"Thank you, Beca," Macy said, twirling her dress.

"So this is what it took to get you in a dress huh, marry you off?" Dave joked.

"Ha ha, you're funny."

"I'm kidding. You look beautiful, Honey," Dave said.

"Thanks, Dad. For everything," Beca said, kissing his cheek.

The family had fun laughing and joking, while they enjoyed Beca's reception. Her step brother, Daniel was trying to have fun, but he still isn't looking forward to school in September.

"Come on, cheer up, Bud. You still have the rest of the summer," Dave told him.

"Yeah great," Daniel said, dejected.

"Look, it won't be that bad, Dude. Are you still going to play soccer in school?" Beca asked.

"I guess," Daniel shrugged.

"Good, well something to look forward to," Beca said.

In the meantime, the family was determined to help Daniel keep his mind off of things for now, and to have fun at the wedding.

As Beca and Chloe entered the main room and were announced by their friends, it was time for the toasts and their first dance.

"Hey everybody, I'm Sarah Klein, and I'd like to propose a toast to our lovely brides. Beca, you've been my best friend for longer than I can remember now, and we've both been through a lot together. As you continue this journey with Chloe, I wish the two of you all the happiness in the world. You're both great friends and you deserve great things. Chloe, you've made Beca so happy since the day you two met. I've known since Beca's and my Freshman year, that you two were meant to be together," she proclaimed, as the guests all clapped.

"Now before the rest of you hit the dance floor, it's time for our newly married brides to have their first dance together," she continued, as the other Bellas joined her for an acapella rendition of "The Way You Look Tonight".

The newly married couple danced to their friends singing, only seeing one another. Their foreheads touch as everything else melted away. Beca and Chloe are in this life together, and are ready to celebrate this day with their closest friends and family.

On the first night of their honeymoon, Beca came back to the couples' hotel room carrying a full ice bucket. Once she set the bucket down, she noticed a text from Chloe. The text read, "Put on your robe and meet me in the bathroom. I've got a surprise." After reading the text, Beca did so and then walked into a candlelit bathroom, where her new wife had set up a romantic evening with a fruit and cheese platter, chilled champagne, and Chloe waiting for her in a hot bubble bath. Beca wasn't usually treated to such a delight, but she could certainly get used to it.

"Well this is nice. What's the occasion?" Beca jokes.

"I figured to start this honeymoon off right, there's nothing like a hot bubble bath, amiright?" Chloe said.

"I'm inclined to agree with you," Beca said.

Beca disrobed and joined Chloe in the bubble bath that did in fact prove to be soothing. After all the stress of planning the wedding, making sure all the guests were able to arrive on time, and the worry of what may or may not go wrong, this moment was something they both needed. While their wedding was a very special day for both of them, it was a long and at times hectic day, and the two of them were happy to enjoy this quiet time alone. Beca quietly listened to her breathing, savoring the moment before speaking up.

"This was the best Idea ever," Beca said, completely relaxed.

"Yeah, well, I once read online that a 45-minute hot bubble bath can help soothe a person," Chloe said.

"Good. Keep doing your reading."

"Will do," Chloe laughed.

As they were enjoying their time in the tub, a thought came to Beca's mind.

"Chloe, ya know I was wondering something, how did you come out to your parents?" Beca asked.

"Well, they actually found out before I told them. When I was 16, I brought over a close friend that I had a crush on. With what they saw, they were able to draw their own conclusions."

The two girls walked up to Chloe's bedroom and talked for a while about school, and what they'd be doing that weekend. At some point, Chloe finally worked up the courage to kiss her friend. In the midst of this, Chloe's mom Susan, walked in to see them which made things very awkward for Chloe at the dinner table. Chloe had no idea what she should say, but her mom finally spoke up.

"Chloe honey, is there something you want to tell us?" Susan asked.

All Chloe could do is sit there and gulp nervously, while she ran through every possible answer.

"Sweetie, we love you unconditionally. So, no matter what you have to say," Chloe's father, Tom chimed in.

Chloe let out a deep breath before speaking up.

"Okay. I guess I might as well tell you...I'm gay."

Chloe's parents sat there quietly looking at each other and then at Chloe. Their daughter was nervous not knowing what they were thinking.

"Please say something," Chloe pleaded.

"Well, honey, we kinda already knew," Tom told her

"You did?"

"Yeah. Your father and I have suspected it for some time now, with how secretive you girls have been lately. We're glad you finally told us," Susan said.

"Uhm...okay then...I'm glad I told you too."

"Honey, we just want you to know, we will support you and continue to love you unconditionally no matter what. You being happy is what matters," Tom assured Chloe.

"Thank you, Dad."

Beca listened to Chloe remembering how hard it was to come out for the first time, and she was happy for Chloe that her parents were so understanding. The people closest to you are always the hardest ones to give any big news, let alone hoping they accept this big part of who you are. They have both been lucky to have that, and Beca is thankful.

"What about you? I know you came out to Sarah first, but how did it go with your parents?" Chloe asked.

"Well, my story was pretty much the same. They took it well. Sarah had a big hand in encouraging me to do so," Beca told her.

"That's great, so they were both understanding?"

"Yeah, I mean...I told them one at a time, which was easier for me, but it felt good to finally say it out loud."

"It definitely was for me too," Chloe said

"Well, now that the water is getting cold, what do you say we get out, and dive into our grapes and cheese before bed?" Beca asked.

"Good idea," Chloe said.

Both ladies stood up, climbing out of the tub and putting their robes back on. When they exited the bathroom, the couple each grabbed a wine glass for themselves to enjoy some of the chilled champagne. After they enjoyed their champagne, cheese, and fruit, the couple finally decided to call it a night.

A few days later, it was the last day of their Bahamian honeymoon. Beca and Chloe decided to unwind while laying out on a beach, looking out at the ocean. They closed their eyes listening to the waves crashing in and out, while the sun soaked into their bones. So far not a bad way to spend the morning.

"This trip has been amazing," Chloe said, relaxed.

"Yeah, I almost don't want to leave."

"Same here."

Beca and Chloe laid back on their towels, just enjoying a quiet moment with each other. They let the sound of the waves wash away all the stresses from work, all the household bills, and all the rest of what life gave them to worry about. They didn't have to be responsible right now. They just had to enjoy this glorious sun and this incredible feeling that they could enjoy a quiet moment together whenever they wanted.

Back at the hotel while Chloe was finishing her shower, Beca was going through all the pictures from the wedding on her laptop. It was a great day for the two of them, and a fun party, as any Bella gathering should be. Chloe comes out into the room, and sees Beca stopped on a photo of them dancing. Chloe came from behind, placing her hands on Beca's shoulders. They never wanted to forget what it was like to be this happy.

"That's a good one," Chloe said, and Beca took her wife's hands.

"Yeah, really good," Beca nodded, and Chloe kissed the top of her head.

Chloe enjoyed this side of Beca. She knew underneath the cool and assertive demeanor Beca presented, there was a soft and compassionate side. A side that loved with her whole heart, and Chloe never wanted to let go of this wonderful woman next to her. No matter what came up that would be hard to deal with, the two of them would never let go of each other and the bond the two of them shared.

The End, thanks for reading
